Messaging Multiple Recipients (SMS)
Any idea how to send sms to multiple recipients at once with the Lumia 800?
I remember it was fairly easy with the N78.

In the To box at the top of the message type the first few letters of their name and you'll see their name appear, touch it to add it, repeat with each person.
If you have a regular set of people you send messages to you could set them up as a group to save time and just message the group.

If I send an SMS text message to multiple recipients it is being sent as an MMS. Since MMS is not included in my PAYG "goodybag", it's costing me a fortune!
I can't find this in the user guide anywhere. Can I turn it off?
many thanksWhile you writing a text message, if you don't add anything photos or smileys (sometimes smileys may have counted as .gif s ), it must be sent as text messages. Or if you choose a recipent that have no phone number but a mail adress, it sends texts to mail adresses as MMS.
Another thing to consider is to check again messaging centers. -
How do you select multiple messages/conversations on SMS/MMS to forward or save to memory card on Samsung Stratosphere?
My screen is cracked and I need to replace my phone and I don't see a way of selecting multiple messages or even conversations one at a time to forward them to email or to save them to a memory card. I can delete thread but can't forward it or move it. Is there a setting somewhere that will move the storage location for messages to the memory card instead of internal?
If not, any suggestions on backup apps? I have heard of Txtract to back up SMS and MMS messages, and Titanium Backup to back up everything (SMS, MMS, apps, app data...). Anyone have any experience with those, or other suggestions?

Sending Text Messages to Multiple Recipients
Is there a way to send a text message to multiple recipients? I've been trying to figure it out for a while. I feel like this is a feature that apple couldn't have just forgotten! Anybody know?
Not supported with the iPhone - at the present time anyway with no indication that it will be supported in the future.
Apple is known for doing research so right, wrong or indifferent, I doubt this is something Apple forgot to include.
The only thing you can do is provide Apple feedback via the iPhone feedback link. -
Message error when sending to multiple recipients/contacts
Ever since 3.0 I can't send messages to multiple recipients. I'm on Optus in Australia using a 16gb 3G.
Anyone else having this problem?
Any fixes?Actually, just for an update, if I turn off MMS I can send to multiple contacts. But with MMS on, I can't. Am I the only person having this issue?
I've tried a restore, and set-up as new phone. But still having no success. -

Being that the Brightside is a basic phone, it might not be capable of responding to a group. The option does seem to be there, though - pg. 48 of the user manual:
While viewing a message touch to display available options:
• Reply w. Copy: Reply to the sender, plus other recipients if desired,
and include a copy of the original message.
Using the "More" option, you can apparently add recipients, or reply to more than one. -
IPhone 5 iOS7 - Sending text to multiple recipients.
I have recently upgraded from my trusty iPhone 3GS to an iPhone 5 with iOS7. The phone is locked to the UK O2 Network.
When abroad multiple recipient text could be sent incurring a European Text Message Cost of 6p per recipient. So far so good. Idid not use data when I was abroad as I had the Roaming option off.
When back in the UK I tried to send Multiple Recipeint texts only to find there was a problem.
The recipeint received a message saying that I had sent them a Media Message without the text being included. I incurred a 33p cost per multiple text instead od the texts being free.
I have never paid for texts before as I am on an unlimited text tariff.
Any suggestions other than sending each text individually.
O2 seem to be aware of this issue.
Is it an iOS7 issue, or an iPhone 5 issue?
This was never a problem with my iPhone 3GS.

You can send a message to multiple recipients using SMS, MMS, and iMessage.
Group messaging allows you to send messages to multiple people and have any responses delivered to everyone in the group. Group messaging works with iMessage and MMS.
If you send a message to multiple recipients without group messaging in use by the sender and all recipients, an individual message will go to each recipient using either SMS or MMS. Responses to these messages will be delivered only to the original sender in separate messaging threads."
This would suggest that Multiple Recipient Text do not necessarily need MMS.
It would seem that unless MMS is prevented then Multiple Recipient Texts will default to MMS.
I have switched off data and have been able to send Multiple Recipient Texts which the recipient has been able to read as texts. -
E71 - Problem with multiple recipients selection i...
I can see and mark all contacts on my contact list while in "To" when creating a new text message. However the "OK" button is missing on the left lower corner of the screen while "Back", on the right, is active. I can type in recipients, though this is tedious when I need to select multiple recipients.
Further probing brought up another problem - I can see all my contacts on my phone but cannot find the contact folder nor can I backup my contacts.

CocoabeanWhen I add contacts to a blank SMS on my E73, I see a list of people with tick boxes to the left, and OK and Back options at the bottom. I don't need to select anything to make OK and Back selectable. If OK is missing for you, then I'm afraid you found a firmware bug. You could try fixing it with a hard reset or by reflashing the firmware. As a workaround, you can probably shift-select multiple contacts within the Contacts app, then choose Options -> Create Message.

The actual contacts file(s) are stored somewhere in C:\Private and not meant to be accessed. (Private is read-only and usually not viewable at all.) How are you doing the backup? There are several different ways. I typically just use Ovi Suite. -
My apologies if this has has been asked before.
When I bought my E90 in July 2007 it had a feature whereby when drafting an sms one could select "Add Recipient" then the contact list would come up, one then checked all the boxes next to the names one wanted to receive the message, and then in the top right of the screen was a button, I think marked OK which took you back to the message with all the recipients now added to the message.
I upgraded the software about 4 months ago because it seemed to be running slow, and I recalled that a software update fixed the go-slow problem on my E60. Indeed the software did fix the go-slow, however on the sms function, although i can still "Add Recipient" the OK button from the top right is gone. so if recipients are checked there is no way to exit that screen and get back to the message. if I use the back button, all the added recipients are dropped.
I updated today to the latest software version hoping this was a bug and it had been fixed, but no such luck.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this, or am I condemned to another long wait with a number in my hand at Nokia to hear the latest round of excuses...I've just tried it on my E90 (FW 210.xxx.xxx) and it works fine. Add Recipient has an OK button, and I can select multiple recipients...

Can't send emails to multiple recipients any more?
Yesterday I had to send an email to some 30 other people (I only do this occasionally).
It refused to go and I received this error message:-
I have several email accounts but each one was the same.
At that time I could not even send single emails but incoming emails were unaffected.
Later in the day I received this email from my ISP mail account.

This is rubbish and I had a similar one last year which I ignored, as the simple steps were far from simple, and the following morning all was back to normal.
So I ignored this email and tried again this morning.
I was still unable to send emails to multiple recipients but now I can send single emails OK!
Any ideas what is going on?
Is it Mail's fault or my ISP's?From the error message, it looks like there was a problem with at least one of the addresses ("NONE"). It is possible that a bad address is in the list you tried to send to.
I don't know anything about BT Internet, so I can't confirm the authenticity of the email you received.
You should be able to log into your BT account directly from the web without using any links sent in the email.
The email also seems to indicate you used an alias as the reply-to (from) email address.
You didn't mask out the username for your smtp server and it is definitely different from the from account. This may all be normal, but it does tend to match what the email is telling you. -
Mail issue: not sending (addressed to multiple recipients in BCC

I am having trouble sending a message to multiple recipients in the BCC field. I am sending to myself in the To: box and many others in BCC. It is not sending the message, either through my Mail program, nor through iCloud mail. iCloud mail gives me "Cannot send message. This message cannot be sent at this time." messge, but no explanation why. (iCloud mail seems to be working normally according to on-line status report). My Mail program give me a, "Cannot send message using the server smtp.me.com:(username)
The server "smtp.me.com" did not recognize the following recipients: [followed by long list of recipients all separated by commas] though it doesn't list all the recipients in the field.
Could it be that I just have too many in the field?
HELP! I'm in a time-crunch on this one.
It did send a test e-mail to me, just fine. No other reipients listed.)AAARGH! Nevermind! I found the answer! over the 100 recipients-at-a-time limit.

I have the email code working with single email in the To address but I am looping through the table and getting a semicolon separated emails and assining to_mail and I am unabl to send any emails to any users in To address but works for cc_address users. I am getting the following error in the stored procedure when compiling. Please help if any suggestions or any one came accross this issue. Thanks.

Error while sending email to Multiple Recipients
Hi,
I am trying to send email to multiple recipients .It works fine if all the email-addresses are valid. If even one is invalid throws exception .I wish to send it all the valid addresses even if some are invalid as this email will be going to 3000 users some of them will be wrong addresses.
Help is greatly appreciated.

Well I find the easiest way is to use a comma delimited string with the following bit of code.
msg.setRecipients(
addrType,
InternetAddress.parse(smtpAddress, false));
addrType will be TO,CC or BCC
smtpAddress is a comma delimited string that I get from the results of a SQL Select request (looks something like "[email protected],[email protected],....,....,...."
The boolean false is to prevent the parse checking the validity of the SMTP addresses as I prefer to deal with this by letting the SMTP server tell me which addresses are no good.

Sending emails with both body and attachment to multiple recipients
I have a requirement to send email with body and attachment to multiple recipients.
Body of the email is a standard text. It is a proxy-to-mail scenario.
Here is what I've done: (I'm using PI 7.11)
One mapping from Source to Target structure (format of the attachment text file)
Second mapping from Target Structure to Mail Package format.
In the second mapping I'm concatenating the output of first step into "Content" of the Mail Package.
"XIPAYLOAD" is the message protocol used.
The "Keep attachments" option in the Mail adapter allows only to send "Content" as attachment or as body of the email.
How to send an email with both content and text?
The other problem is even with using ASMA, I can't send email to multiple recipients. I can only do CC and TO for 1 person each - a total of 2. Although I can resolve this by creating mailing lists, it is better if this can be addressed in PI.

For the first question, I was able to find the solution in the following blog:

(I just needed to search with the right set of key words )
The key is to set the "Content Encoding" as "None" in the mail adapter. If this is not done, the mail will be sent with an attachment - untitled.bin containing both the mail body and the attachment text. Also, don't forget to check the "Keep Attachments" checkbox in the mail adapter.
Multiple recipients could be added by separating the email IDs with a Comma. I have used ASMA to set the recipients.
