Messaging Server 6.3 proxy IMAP to UWash IMAP server

We have a Sun Java Messaging Server 6.3 set up and we'd like to migrate our users a few at a time from an older mail server running UWash IMAP (v2006g) to the new Sun Messaging server. I am told by a Sun Engineer that this is possible by setting the user's mailHost attribute to the old mail server, however I am unable to get certain parts of it to work.
Having the user's mailHost attribute set in LDAP to a host containing a Sun Java mailstore works just fine w/ mail clients such as Thunderbird/Outlook and the Web Mail client Communications Express. However, setting the mailHost to the old IMAP server (for example, imap.host.com) works fine w/ mail regular IMAP clients, but if they attempt to login with Comm. Express, we get the error in the log file /var/opt/sun/messaging/log/http on the MMP:
General Error: Failed to login on imap server on imap.host.com. Check local.service.proxy.admin and local.service.proxy.adminpass: AUTHENTICATE PLAIN invalid
Looking around on the 'net, it looks like this is because the AUTHENTICATE PLAIN is only used during IMAPS sessions. So I enabled SSL on the old IMAP server and made the IMAP Proxy also use SSL by setting the following values with configutil:
local.service.proxy.imapport = 993
local.service.proxy.imapssl = 1
I also made the appropriate changes in ImapProxyAService.conf in /opt/sun/messaging/config to enable SSL. Now when a user with their mailHost attribute pointing to the old mail server tries to log in, we get the message:
General Error: IMAP SSL connection to imap.host.com failed: I/O operation timed out
I've made sure that the old mail server has port 993 open in it's firewall so the Sun Messaging server can get to it. The old mail server has a certificate for its IMAP server signed by GeoTrust, not a self-signed cert. The Communications Express also uses SSL for logins. I'm still wondering if there is a setting I've missed, either w/ configutil, in ImapProxyAService.conf,
or otherwise.
Has anybody tried proxying a UWash IMAP(S) server from a Sun Java Messaging Server and got it to work?
Sorry if I've left out any details that is needed to further diagnose the problem, I will be happy to post any other configs or settings, just ask.

from a Sun Java Messaging Server and got it to work?Proxying IMAP(S) -> IMAP(S) and POP(S) -> POP(S) using the MMP software should be fine as you have already noted/tested. The web-client server (mshttpd) used by UWC/CE isn't going to inter-operate with a UWash IMAP server. The web-client uses custom IMAP extensions which weren't even available in MS6.2 (which is why customer have to upgrade their back-end store before they upgrade the front-end's).

any other configs or settings, just ask.What you are trying isn't going to work unfortunately -- until the user is migrated they won't be able to access the Sun web-based interface.

A number of users who have chosen to set up iCloud mail manually in the Mail application seem to encounter problems with continually being asked to sign in. This may well be a result of incorrect settings such as not setting 'Apple Token' for authentication under the accounts advanced settings.
A more general approach to remedying such problems would be to turn off Mail in System Preferences/Settings > iCloud, checking the account has been removed from Mail (and deleting it if it hasn't), restarting and then enabling iCloud Mail again from System Preferences/Settings > iCloud. This will ensure the correct settings are used.

hi, please check in the firefox ''menu ≡ > options > advanced > network > connection - settings...'' if firefox is set up to directly connect to the internet ('no proxy').

Back up all data. Rebuild the mailbox. Try again to delete the message.

TV System Update hangs at 21% with message "Cannot connect to proxy server"

Hi,
just installed TVSU (latest version) on my Thinkpad T40 (with WinXP Pro SP3, German). Installs fine, runs perfect after reboot, recognises the correct model, initiates search for updates and then stops at 21% whilst displaying
"Downloading Packet Information: Lenovo Help Center (1 of 1)".
A few seconds later the error message
"Cannot connect to Proxy Server"
comes up with an OK-Box. Clicking OK terminates the entire update process, however TVSU continues to run properly and the process can be restarted with the identical result. This happens with Kaspersky Firewall on and off, no difference. Even rebooting the system w/o firewall and virus protection and starting afresh does not help either. Tried perhaps 15 times over the last 4 hours with same results. I assume that the error message refers to a proxy at Lenovo since in my local environment there is no proxy involved. The system is known to be free of viruses (clean installation yesterday and virus checked this morning).
Note:
The display/error message above were translated from German into English so the corresponding original English displays/messages may look slightly different.

I have discovered one other potential cause of this behaviour.
If your computer is attached to a Domain, ensure you are connected to the Domain using a profile that has administrator rights when attempting these upgrades.
I was using a local profile with administrative rights, on a network connection that was outside of the corporate LAN, and I was getting the "Cannot connect to proxy server" error.
When I connected to our Corporate LAN and logged on to the machine with an administrative profile, the Proxy Server error went away, and I was then able to connect and download my required updates.
Just an FYI if you are doing this inside a large, firewalled LAN running from Active Directory.

Adapter specific message attributes in ABAP proxy

Dear all,
i have a short question. I have a file to ABAP server proxy scenario. When picking up the file i write communication data from the adapter in the message header using dynamic configuration and route the message to a abap proxy.
My question is: Do i have access to the header data in the proxy, or do I have to make a message mapping and put the header data into the payload of the message?

Firefox browser wont open the message I get is "unable to establish connection to server" even though I am online

I was in the middle of a firfox browser sessions, but had to close it down as computer was playing up with other pograms I had open. When rebooted the system, I could not use the firefox browser and had the following message:

i then uninstalled it restarted my computer reinstalled it restarted my computer and had the same message come up when trying to open it.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Fault message in asynchronous ABAP Proxy

Hi,
I have a question about fault messages in asynchronous ABAP proxy server.
The configured scenario is SOAP XI ABAP Proxy. Between XI and the ABAP Proxy I have configured an inbound asynchronous interface with a fault message, and then I have generated all the classes and implemented some code for exception handling in the ABAP Proxy side successfully.
When I tested negative cases, the exception raises and it is visible in the SXMB_MONI transaction in the R/3 side, but this exception is not displayed in the SXMB_MONI of XI it just displays a successful delivery to the ABAP Proxy message.
According the XI documentation it says <i>In the asynchronous case, you can see a fault message in the monitoring of the Exchange Infrastructure.</i> But this is not working.
Am I missing something?

Trouble send a message to XI via Proxy

I'm trying to send a message from R/3 System to XI via Proxy, but I just can see the message in the R/3 side (SXMB_MONI), the message has a Green Flag Status. When I activated a queue that the message belongs to it goes to Red Flag Status and I got an 'ErrorHeader' with:

Unlikely. Based on the complete lack of detail of the issue provided it is entirely possible the same issue would occur.
Unless and until the user provides some actual details of the problem, there is nothing the indicate that the issue is with the iPhone.

I have an iPad 3, iPad Mini and iPhone 5S and they are all sluggish on capitalisation using shift keys. I hope that Apple will solve the problem because it is driving me crazy.
I find using a Microsoft Surface and Windows 8 phone, which I also have, work as well as all the ios devices before the ios 7 upgrade.
It has something to do with the length of time that you need to hold the shift key down. The shift key needs to be held longer than the letter key for the capitalisation to work. For some reason, this is a major change in the way we have learnt to touch type on computers. I am having to relearn how to type!
