Mic not working on speakerphone after iOS 5.1 update

Updated to 5.1 last night.
When using the phone, I click SPEAKER and whilst I can hear the other person, the mic on my iPhone is muted and they can't hear me.
Works fine without loudspeaker on.
Cannot press mute button to "unmute", it has no effect.
Incidentally, the noise cancelling mic at the top, doesn't get muted, it's on the main mic...
Anyone else having this problemo?

It must be a software problem... My partner has the EXACT same issue - we upgraded our devices pretty much at the same time as each other...
He eventually took his phone into Apple Store last night and spoke with a genius. The guy was bit of an idiot really, checking the phone for water damage etc and insisting that it "coulnd't possibly be a software problem"... He failed to understand that two iPhones in the same household had simultaneously developed the exact same problem, after upgrading to 5.1, when they worked perfectly fine about 40 minutes earlier...
Anyway, after much huffing and puffing, my partner walked away with a brand new phone, but we had to leave it overnight to upgrade back to 5.1 and subsequently restore itself... Frankly, I'm not all that convinced it's going to work, but I will update you when I know what the latest is,,,!

I try hard reset, alter settings but won't work.

Also having same problems as above, AirDrop not working between iPhones or iPads from iPhoto. On same WiFi, blue tooth searching for devices but not connecting. Tried hard reset, checked privacy settings, icon is there, blinks when pressed, but no other activity. Have used AirDrop previously many times with no problems, now nothing. Machines and iOS all up to date.
Off to work, hope someone can come up with some solution.

Music not working on iPhone after iOS 5 upgrade

Hi all,
Apparently I spoke too soon- To review, ever since I upgraded to iOS 5, the iPod functionality of my iPhone (ie all of my music) doesn't function. It worked for the first day or so, then when I tried to start the app, it would present with a blank white screen for about 10 seconds, then just quit. I've restarted, reset, and restored, and the only thing that helped was restoring (I've restored about 4 times now). It would then work for about a day, then not work again. I eventually got tired of restoring, and just 'unsynced' my music, then resynced again. That would again work for about a day, then I'd have to repeat that process. Now, not even resyncing my music works.
Otherwise the phone seems to be working well- no other app issues or usage issues. I'd occasionally get an error (-34) or (-50) while syncing, but I'd just 'eject' the phone, and reattach and it would sync.
I'm using iCloud for backup, and I'm syncing wirelessly, unless I restore or unsync my music, at which time I'll hook it directly to the computer.
Any suggestions?

Sorry, but no suggestions....I have the same problem I think... my music app just goes to a white screen then back to the home page. if i search for a song it will find it, but when i try to play it, i get a black scrren, then just back to home page. the app has worked a lot, but this has happened a few times prior and has resolved itself (not sure how), but now i can't get my music to work at all. video, everything else works...this is on iphone4s with ios 5.0.1. there's a definite bug here and hopefully enough people will complain about it to get apple to fix it! I get the feeling it has something to do with a large music library (I have 46GB) and large/complex playlists. I also seem to have a syncing problem in that music rating changes made on iphone don't get syncd back to by windows pc library. I noticed this just before the music app stopped working completely. Apple.. please help!

but it's still not working. Hoping someone can help me troubleshoot. I did a test video using guvcview and the mic worked fine and the video had audio.
Solution:
Uninstalled pulseaudio
Installed apulse from AUR
Created and edited ~/.asoundrc as per https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Al … ure_device
Invoke skype:
$ apulse skype

Do you have pulseaudio installed or not? both of the solutions you posted are intended to be used if one doesn't want to use pulseaudio and both aren't necessary if you are actually using pulseaudio.

Bookmarks not syncing on iPad after iOS 4.3 update

I have the following problem since the iOS 4.3 update on 2 iPads and 1 iPhone 3GS. (no problem on iPhones 4)
If I attach device to iTunes and start syncing, everything seems synced except the bookmarks. I get either messages:
'iTunes could not sync bookmarks to the iPad "name" because an error occured while merging data.'
'iTunes could not sync bookmarks to the iPad "name" because the bookmarks are in use bu the iPhone.'
If I do a second sync - without stopping iTunes - the bookmarks are synced.
Any idea how to solve this ?

I have the same problem, but it was after buying a new Mac and setting up syncs. The bookmarks from the iPad disappeared and were not syncing through MobileMe, although it is working on my iPhone 4, so I turned of the MM sync and tried iTunes. After trying just about everything suggested in this thread (hard boot, clearing caches etc, shutting off all multi-tasking, getting rid of the Mozilla app, and so on) when I sync with iTunes I still get the message: "iTunes could not sync bookmarks to the iPad xxxx because the bookmarks are in use by the iPad."
How does one shut down whatever is using the bookmarks?

Siri is not working for dictation since ios 8.2 update.

Since updating to iOS 8 .2, I am having trouble using Siri for dictation in fillable form fields. It works great on a blank field but if I reenter the field and try to enter more text Siri does not work. This was not a problem in any of the previous iOS versions including 8.0 and 8.1. Thank you for any help you can give me.

Since updating to iOS 8.2 I can not use Siri to enter text into a text field on a fillable form. It works until I re-enter a field that already has text in it. Thank you for any help you can provide me.

Any update on this. All problems started with the update to iOS 4.3. It is with first sync only after connecting to iTunes Mac. After a second sync I get no error

Notes not working on iPad after iOS 6.1.3

After updating to iOS 6.1.3, Notes will not load on my iPad. When I click the icon, a blank note opens momentairly, then the app closes. Anyone else having this issue? It appears to be fine on my iPhone. Only the iPad seems to be affected.

Pancakes radio now not working with multitasking after ios 4.0.2 update

I updated my iPhone 3GS to the new ios 4.0.2 and now when I listen to my pandora radio I cannot switch over to my messages or facebook or anything without it closing down and stopping. I tried to delete it and reinstall it but that did not make a difference. It worked fine with ios 4.0.1. Has anyone else noticed this problem?

I just updated to 4.02 on my 3gs and am experiencing that issue with a number of 3rd party apps. Not only can't I multi-task, but if I lock the screen, I get kicked out of some of them. I have tried reset, without relief. I'd love a suggestion to remedy this.

This morning, I updated to iOS4.0.2. I went to sleep with Pandora on (I work midnight shift) and when I awoke, I switched to mail and lost the music. Verified it wouldn't stay on and proceeded to do a hard reset (held down on/off switch and home button simultaneously well over ten seconds (( apple came on and then went blank/off again ))). Turned my iPhone 3GS on again and problem was gone. Hope this helps you too.

IMessage & FaceTime Not Working on iPad after iOS 6.0.1 update?

I have an iPad 16GB 3rd Generation and whenever I try to sign in with my Apple ID to Messages and FaceTime it pops up with "Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again." I have tried so many things for this including resetting my network settings and creating a new Apple ID but my wifi connection works perfectly fine on safari etc but not on iMessage and FaceTime. Please Help?

Sound, headphones, and vibrator not working on 4s after ios 7.0.6 update

So after i updated my phone last night it started doing this thing where the ear piece speaker, the loud speaker, the vibrator, and headphone jack all stop functioning. As soon as i put the phone in silent after awhile or restarting it in silent it will start working again. I don't know what's causing this, but its annoying. Anyone else having a similar issue?

IMessage not working on iPad after iOS 7 u/g

I know this is on all the forums - somewhere, but my iPad has been stuffed as far as iMessage is concerned since iOS 7 was installed. It receives OK, but when you try to send, the send ribbon gets to around the 80% mark and it stops. Nothing I do has made any difference. Reset all the cloud setting, verified my connection, but nothing.

Ok, so it's a known bug affecting a common function of Apple devices, right? Why the **** wasn't it checked before the release? And what the heck is taking so long? iOS 7 has been out a month now!

IPhone is not syncing with iTunes after iOS 7.1 update

I have an iPhone 4S and an iPad 2, and neither of them will sync my new music from iTunes after updating both of them to iOS 7.1. When I press sync on my computer, the steps start at the top of iTunes, but then it just finishes before it actually starts writing the names of individual songs like it would normally do when syncing. It is as there is no music to be synced but there is. Please help!!

You've tried the following procedure?
Turn your device off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your device and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a device in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings.
If this still doesn't work, you should make an appointment at the Genius Bar to have your device evaluated.
