i have the attached problem anytime i tried to open a BW query in excel:Microsoft Excel for Windows has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience", Please inform if there is a work arround, i have re-install excel , likewise SAP many times but nothing
Hi,
I would suggest you check with any other colleague if they are able to run the same or not. Running BEx report depends hugely on the front end capacity and performance. Please check if anyone else can run the same report, with the same front end RAM, then it might be the problem with your installation.
Also you can try with the latest patch for GUI s/w.

Debasis.

The fix for "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close . . ."
I recently purchased a new laptop and tried to get my library transferred. iTunes wouldn’t open; QuickTime wouldn’t open. I was near a heart attack. I tried the fixes listed in the forum, but they didn’t work. Then I discovered:
The fix needs to be done in a proper order!
a. Delete iTunes and QuickTime from Add/Remove programs
b. Go to C > Program files an delete the folders for iTunes and QuickTime. If QT will not allow you to delete the program because it’s “in use”, then go to Start > Run > configsys > Startup and deselect “qttask”. You will have to reboot and get past the selective start up/diagnostic screen. Then go back to C > Program files and you will now be able to delete the QuickTime folder.
c. For good order’s sake, delete any desktop shortcuts and empty your Recycle Bin.
d. Reboot
e. Download the STAND ALONE version of QuickTime: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/standalone.html
f. Install the stand alone version; reboot
g. Download the QuickTime 7 with iTunes 6: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
h. Install the iTunes program. The stand alone will take precedence over the imbedded version of QuickTime.
i. Reboot
When your system has completed the reboot, you should be able to double-click the newly installed desktop shortcut; give it a few minutes and it should open. Mine did – and I tried everything else. If this does NOT work, then there is a conflict with something else in your system and you will have to go through the configsys elimination process, which is a whole lot more work.
Best of luck!
Gateway laptop Windows XPThe first thing to check is Quicktime as iTunes will not work without it.
Does Quickime launch OK and work normally?
If it does use the method in this article to troubleshoot iTunes:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1421
If QUicktime does not launch, describe what happens with any error message in full.
Have you installed any of the following:
ACE & K-Lite mega codecs package, QT alternative, Storm codec, WinAVI video converter, Mpcstar, (possibly starcodec pack, 3ivx)
If so uninstall them, they are know to cause problems with QUickitme.
Then download the version of Quickime without iTunes (it is not the default option):
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
Now Remove Quicktime using the method for Quicktime in this article (just Quicktime):
XP
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
Vista
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
When you come to your C:\Windows\system32\ folder you can delete any file or folder with Quicktime in the name.
Restart you computer
Install the stand alone Quicktime and check if it starts.
If it does you are in a position to find out if iTunes is OK. -

Microsoft Excel has encountered a problem and needs to close
I've been using Microsoft Office 2008 for a long time and just this week I'm getting the below message:
"Microsoft Excel has encountered a problem and needs to close. Sorry for the inconvenience."
I can't open it at all. Word works fine.
I've deleted com.microsoft etc. in Preferences but the problem still persists.
Any help would be greatly appreciated : )Than you for your help.
Yes, it works fine when logged into another user account. That's a relief, although not for my Accounts department : )
What do you suggest knowing that I've already tried deleting the preferences files
Thanks -
After installing Mavericks, I get this same error box for each of the MS Office 2008 apps. "Microsoft [word,excel/etc] has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I've tried to open in a test user account and same thing happens. Any ideas? I don't really want to splurge for a new version. Thanks.
Have you installed all of the available updaters for Office 2008? In each of the apps use the Help ➙ Check for Updates menu option.
Then be sure to run Disk Utility and repair disk permissions. -

Edited by: dpanicker on Jun 23, 2010 7:26 AMI'm curious how you are running this code within excel as I would expect you would've had to write a dll to expose the SDK as COM in order to be able to access it from an excel document.

Hi folks. Running Snow Leopard with Outlook, Word, Safari, iCal and iPhone. Constantly receiving error message: "Syncservicesagent has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
Any ideas?
Cheers, Matt.Hi - thanks for the detailed reply.
Yeah it still pops up though I've stopped all the MS applications - Word, Excel, Outlook.
I Force Quit it in Activity Monitor but it pops back up again, almost immediately. It's like it's running in background, for want of a better term.
This mean anything to you??

'NI-PAL Service Manager has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.'
I have been re-loading LabVIEW 8.0.1 Pro Dev Sytem, NI-DAQ (Traditional) and NI-DAQmx, all day. This probelm seems to be related to the fact that I can, no longer, create executables or open my .lvproj files, yielding the other error:

Thank you
Message Edited by FLT CTRL 6 on 06-02-2006 03:41 PMNI-PAL service Manager has encountered a problem and needs to close.… tell Microsoft...10Jan08
Yesterday I started having this error message pop up when I first boot up my computer. I haven’t even started LabVIEW.
Recent changes:
6Jan08 Replaced motherboard and CPU.
6Jan08 Formatted hard drive and reinstalled software(Windows XP Home Edition). Computer working fine.
8Jan08 Installed LabVIEW 8.0 Student Edition. LV is working fine and the message does not appear.
9Jan08 Download and install NiDAQ 8.6.1. Reboot the system and the above error shows up. LabVIEW works fine so far.
Anybody have any ideas on what the problem is? I have a screen shot of the actual message, but I can't load it on this page.

Word 2011 for Mac, Word has encountered a problem and needs to close
When I open word a lot of previously closed word documents open. Flashing up about twenty different documents before I can open a new document. Also when I try to close them Word shut down, 'Stating Word has encountered a problem and needs to close".
Any help?Hi Susan,
First you should know that this is not a Mac forum. It is for PC IT types. How's that acronym jargon? It doesn't help much with clear communication does it? :-) (Windows Information Technology Professionals... not end users). The correct forum for you is
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac/forum/macword and there you'll get your answer a lot quicker.
With that said, I'm bilingual in PC and Mac environments so I will try to help. Try this:
In Apple's System Preferences>General make sure this checkbox is marked:
Quit Word completely... remember quitting is not closing on a Mac. You must "Quit" the application.
Hold down the Shift Key and then start Word. Keep holding the Shift key until Word fully opens. Once it is open if any of those old documents appear in the Recovery task pane, now close them.
Quit Word and if prompted about reopening any documents, respond No.
Hope this helps
