Midi Timing, does anyone know?

The midi timing on my set up has become progressively worse in recent months.
By this I mean while playing the keyboard connected through Logic to an EXTERNAL Midi module.
Piano or drum sounds feel horrible to play, its as if the sound only starts playing halfway through pressing a key down.
I'm using an Emagic MT4 interface which has never given any trouble before.
I thought it must be down to drivers at first but after loading the demo of Reaper and using exactly the same hardware I find that everything in Reaper is quick and snappy and works the way it should.
I tried using the same interface and keyboard (Novation) on a MacBook running 10.5.8 and Logic Express 8.02 and everything seems fine too.
I'm rather suspicious of everything post Snow Leopard as I've had other (minor) issues since upgrading.
Does anyone have the same problem? and do you know if there is a way to improve things?

Its like I've chained about 10 modules together (like we used to) and this is the last one... Only I haven't. It's just annoying. Just tried the MacBook again and that has no delay that I can detect.
I think it may have more to do with recent USB implementation... I maintain a couple of Macs in studios around town and there is definitely MIDI sloppiness present in the newer machines using USB MIDI interfaces. Could also be Snow Leopard/Logic overhead but there's something going on for sure.
Does the problem clear up (at least for a short time) after rebooting?
Also, do you have any other USB peripherals running on the iMac.

got your message about making sure to use the machine specific disk that came with my machine. Unfortunately, Apple no longer sells Tiger replacement disks. I've got a couple of bids out on ebay, and will update when I have news to add to this post.

To be clear you called the 800 number and explained what the situation was, old machine and lost the original DVD's?
Just checking because if you just called and tried to buy the DVD's they might tell you they no longer sell them but you aren't really trying to buy them your trying to replace the ones that are missing.
Ebay may work but there is a certain specificity to the DVD's required which, even if they seem right, might not work.
Good luck either way. If you get a chance when you get the DVD's I'd be interested in hearing how it all works out.

I basically managed to learn how to invert parameters which allows me to be as default in the clean guitar channel and if I switch the first button on the midi foot controller I switch to crunch, but at this point I tryied so hard to programm the second and third button to switch, only through a button in one step, to a third channel for distorsion or a 4th channel for solo guitar but I couldn't figured out how this work can be done!
I would appreciate if anyone could help or share this experience with others who are experiencing the same problem.

Hi David. I don't have as modern a Macbook Pro as you, mine is a 2012 model, but perhaps I can help. I often find that my SD card will not load when I first insert it. I have to remove it and then put it into the slot again firmly.
You also haven't posted any information about the SD card. What size is it, do you know how it is formatted, has it worked in that same mac previously, where did it come from, does it currently work in another device (such as your camera)? This sort of information will help to narrow down the problem.
If you post some more information I'm sure people will try to help you. In the meantime, if you look at your post again you should see "More Like This" at the bottom of the page and you may find an answer in some of those related posts.

I've been having the same issues too, and thought it was just my outdated computer or account?!
Every time I try to purchase a song, "session has timed out" shows up after I click "agree" to the terms!? I seem to be in the exact same scenario as 'SportsBarn' above: Itunes support have replied repeatedly with the same "solutions" but nothing has helped or even been applicable. I have an older laptop, 2005 Powerbook running OS X 10.4 Tiger so it's not compatible with the latest iTunes 10.5.2 which requires minimum OS X 10.5. I know this doesn't help you much, but, I think you have to see if your Mac pro does audio out via HDMI. I don't even know if mine does via DVI. I think it may have to do with the adapter. Try going into Audio MIDI and setting the digital out to multichannel
and using the toslink cable for now. Lemme see...apparently DVI does not carry audio at all. Hm. apparently monoprice could be helpful? If I understand what you're saying correctly: you want to take DVI and multichannel audio via the Toslink and have it all go out over HDMI, right? If you are talking about some "Karaoke" method using Logic I'll try to offer one. Before that I must say that most of the Karaoke methods are based on reversing the Phase of one of the stereo channel and bussing or merging the stereo into Mono. The result is: killing all Pan Centered in the mix - like Main Vocal, Bass, Kick, SN ect.
The artifacts of the Stereo FX of the main vocal will stay in the Karaoke, cause the FX is stereo etc.
Here is the Logic Setup I can offer to try some Karaoke trick using Logic.
1. Import a Stereo mix into a Logic Stereo track.
2. Create another stereo track and duplicate (copy) the Original Mix region to the duplicated track.
3. Hard Pan L/R both stereo tracks.
4. Insert an EQ and Gainer plugins into the duplicated track (R).
5. Set the Output select of the both tracks to a Bus and assign the new Aux Track Switch mode to "Mono".
6. Open the Gainer plugin and thick the "Phase Invert" Right button.
7. To keep the "lowend" instruments like the bass and kick, open the EQ plugin and enable the Low Cut filter and try some Hz settings 80-115, or different Q which will sounds better for your Karaoke.

If it's actual audio out from the M50, you just need to hook up its audio outs into whatever you're using to get sound into the computer (audio interface, the computer's input jack, whatever it is that you're using), fire up a real audio track, and record.
But if you're having difficult with drum tracks, that's usually this:
Drum tracks on many MIDI devices default to MIDI channel 10. MIDI channel 10 is like the universal MIDI channel for drum tracks. However, GB likes to see MIDI channel 1, regardless of the instrument.
Therefore, if this is a MIDI issue, you'd need to change the MIDI channel on your drum tracks from 10 to 1 to make them GB friendly.

We added the customer tables like ZBUT0000* in BP by EEWB tool
and these tables appears in "Customer Data" tab successfuly.
Now we would like to do the input value check when users create/change the businesss partners in T-cd:BP,
but could not find any BAdI or customer exit.
BAdI "BUPA_FURTHER_CHECKS" seems to be good, but this BAdI is called by BAPI and not by T-cd:BP.
We think BAdI "BUPA_GENERAL_UPDATE" can be used, but we want to run the input value check
at the timing of pressing ENTER key, not the timing of before-saving.
Does anyone know which BAdI can be used?
If any further information is required, please let us know.
Any advice would be highly appreciated.

I use a Mini as the family media center and would like to have 5.1 or 7.1 sound for films but don't want a huge piece of eletronic equipment (I have one of those, but it isn't hooked up because it doesn't fit on the bookshelf). Years ago I used a PC and still use the Creative Audigy speaker system (Jimmy rigged to the Mini) that I ran from the PC. The Audigy PCI sound card obviously doesn't work on the Mini, so I just have two chanel plus sub. That has been fine since I switched to the Mini in 2007, but am updating to a new Mini in the summer and would like to upgrade my sound as well.
I also wouldn't be opposed to a USB soundcard that can drive the speakers. In fact, my wife would prefer smaller and less visible, ergo USB card hidden in the back.
Suggestions?

Hello John, I figured it was a signal issue. All the speakers fire and the sound is great. I was running the speakers thru a Dell PC with a Creative X-Fi Elite Pro, THX Certified, 7.1 soundcard using a fiber optic from the Mac Pro to the Z906's, it worked great until the Dell died!!! When I bought the soundcard from Creative I also bought the GigaWorks S750, THX Certified, 700 watt, 7.1 speaker system, used the speakers for 11 years and then the woofer/amp said "I QUIT" Creative quit making the speaker system and the sound card. The satellite speakers from the Creative GigaWorks speaker system still sound great (rated at 78 watt each) and are a little better speaker than the one's that came with the Z906 and the wattage from the 906 is sufficient to drive the satellites without any distortion. Thank you for addressing my issue, you confirmed what I suspected all along, just needed to hear it from someone with the same setup.
One last question, I purchased a Diamond Multimedia USB Soundcard, can't use the fiber optic(not supported by Mac) but the green, tan and black RCA's plug in and produces adequetly. When you plug your 906's into the Mac Pro using the fiber optic how do you set your speaker configuration? When I plug into the mac pro with fiber optic the 'Audio Midi Setup' does not seem to see the 5.1 configuration. Any thoughts there?
