Migrating projects from JDeveloper 10.1.2 to JDeveloper 11g

Hi,
We are currently still making use of JDeveloper 10.1.2.2 to develop/maintain JSP/Struts/ADF 10.1.2 applications. Will it be possible to migrate these projects directly from JDeveloper 10.1.2 to 11g with the final production version when it is released?
Would I be correct in assuming that the development/maintenance of JSP/Struts 1 based applications will still be possible in JDeveloper 11g so that we can first migrate the projects from 10.1.2 and then focus on changing the view technology over a longer timeframe?

The first two questions were a bit average - obviously still finding my way around. The answer to the 2nd question appears to be yes. However, I have not found anything official for the first question.
I have managed to migrate one of our basic struts projects from JDeveloper 10.1.2.2 to 10.1.3.4. However, following a similar procedure to migrate to 11g I get the following failure when trying to run the application in the embedded and internal servers.

Yes.
Like pointed out by Theo,
the exception is : "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: 111100\jdeveloper\."
Its trying to look in the folder "111100" which does not exist (due to space instead of ....\JDeveloper 111100\.... , it starts right from \111100)
I guess you will have ro re-install the JDev

JDeveloper 11.1.2.3 hangs when opening project from JDeveloper 11.1.1.6

Hello! I have a problem here which I can't solve. I also asked this question here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/14365031/jdeveloper-11-1-2-3-hangs-when-opening-project-from-jdeveloper-11-1-1-6/14369211#14369211 . The whole story in short. I have a JavaEE client-server project in JDeveloper 11.1.1.6, where it works like a charm. Recently I had to upgrade JDeveloper version to the latest 11.1.2.3. The first problem was that the standard procedure of migrating project from the older version of JDeveloper to the newer one did not help: IDE was hanging forever all the time with no apparent (for me) reason, log file was silent about that. Then I tried another way: I just created the same project from the beginning and put there all necessary source files, libraries, set project properties etc. Still nothing, but now found the way to obtain a kind of error at least. I ran C:\Oracle\Middleware\jdeveloper\jdev\bin\jdev.exe from the command line and got the following (e.g. when I started running debug):

Migration from Jdeveloper 11g r1 to 11g r2 problem

Hi all
I have a project initially created in Jdeveloper 11g r1
after migrating it to Jdeveloper 11g r2 i tried to replace lookup ejb invocation to dependency injection.
So i used @EJB annotation in my managed bean. I'm shure there could be no mistakes in the way how i used this anno, i did it many times
it looks something like this
@EJB(name="StatelessSessionEJBEx",beanInterface =StatelessSessionEJBEx.class, beanName = "StatelessSessionEJBEx")
as a result it generated an exception which said that the EJB interface could not be found, though all dependencies between business and view projects are in place. After a while i figured out that the problem is it used JSF 1.2 specification instead of 2.0 so i replaced the version of JSF in managed been source code

but it seemed to make no effect at all.
So are there any guesses what i did wrong

Hi,
the server used by JDeveloper 11g R2 is a patched WLS 10.3.5 or 10.1.3.6 server (depends on teh JDeveloper version), which is not a Java EE 6 version but Java EE 5 (which explains why CDI doesn't work as expected). To read up on how to get annotated EJBs work from JSF managed beans, see http://buttso.blogspot.de/2011/03/jsf-with-managed-beans-and-dependency.html.
The upcoming 12c release will solve all of this. My suggestion therefore is to keep on going with the web.xml reference and then replace it later with @EJB annotation references

Problems migrating project in JDeveloper

Hello OraclALL,
I am having problems migrating my project from JDeveloper 10.1.2 to version 10.1.3.
Actualyl the problem is specific to the UML diagramas. It was able to correctly convert the Class Diagram and ER Diagram, but did not work with Use Case Diagram neither with Activity Diagrams.
Is there something I can do to import, convert or migrate my project with all diagrams included?

There is nothing special to be done to migrate those uml diagrams. The migration which succeeded in migrating your other diagrams should also have migrated the use case and activity diagrams.
You say that it did not work for use case and activity, could you describe what the problem is with those diagrams ?
If there was some error dialogs, exceptions during the migration process or when you try to open those diagrams ... could you also describe/paste them ?
Alternatively you can send all this information to me.

Deploying SOA composite from Jdeveloper: 11g

When I try to deploy a modified SOA project from JDeveloper, it is trying to connect to the soa_server1 using SSL. Since SSL is not configured in my test environment, I get an error saying Connection refused. Is there a setting I can change so JDeveloper does not automatically try to deploy my project over SSL?

were you able to compile the composite successfully ? If that is successful, while deploying from JDeveloper; make sure you have checked the checkbox "Overwrite". There are possibilities that version 1.0 is already been deployed and you trying to deploy again with the same version without checking the overwrite option. Also, you can try is, deploy the SAR file from the EM console.

I tried to create ESB project in Jdeveloper 11g and not finding.
3.3.1 How to Create an ESB Project
After you have created an application, create the ESB project that will contain the ESB services using Oracle JDeveloper ESB Designer.
To create an ESB project:
In the Applications Navigator, right-click the application to which you want to add a project and then choose New Project.
The New Gallery opens.
Select ESB Project under General Projects, and then click OK.

Here is what i see in Jdeveloper help.
Comment: Questions on ESB configuration with demo, or specific steps to recreate ESB components of the demo, are described in the SOA Quick Start or Tutorial. ESB info in this guide is more of an overview of the process. Note that ESB is installed with SOA suite and that ESB does not need separate configurations and uses connections defined for the SOA demo

It means that you are testing the service from behind the proxy. Try adding the hostname, 127.0.0.1, localhost etc to the exception list and see if it helps.

I wanted to connect SQL SERVER from Jdeveloper 11g.
I am selecting Connection type as generic JDBC
I believe Driver class should be weblogic.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver but i am not able to find the same from Jdev.
Please help me to resolve this.

Unable to run struts project from jdeveloper 10.1.3

I have created a struts-based application project using jdeveloper 10.1.3(build JDEVADF_10.1.3.1.0_NT..) by importing an ear file .The project seems to be built fine as i get no errors in compiling the entire project.I have included the Struts runtime library as well in the project.
But when i try to run the login.jsp from the struts-config.xml,i get the :

If you can, the best way would be to to change the column name from SUBTYPE to something that isn't a SQL reserved key word.
You might get around this particular problem by adding @Column(name = "\"SUBTYPE\"") on your attribute. This will force eclipselink to add quotation marks in the generated SLQ, but I think it will cause problems when it comes to some more complicated queries.
In my opinion, the only safe way here is to not use column names that are in conflict with SLQ reserved key words.

Error in deploying BPEL project from Jdeveloper

Hi all,
I am using Jdeveloper 10.1.3.4.0.
For the first time BPEL project deployed successfully, but when i am trying to deploy second time it's giving the below error.

Can you check these things :
1) is this issue with only this project ? Try deploying some other project
2) try deploying this project using ant (change values in build.properties and right click on project -> run ant or something like that, use default deploy target)
3) try undeploying project from server and then redeploying it again
also, why is it connecting to port 80? normally it is 8888 or 7777 right?

Deploying a project from Jdeveloper

I have created a project consisting of four classes, in order to connect webservices (Content Services). I want to be able to deploy this project from different client machines based on Operative system timer such as "AT".
How do make a deployment set in order to do this from Jdeveloper version 10.1.3.?

Hi,
select the project, choose NEW from the context menu and select the deployment profile node under the General node. Not sure what you mean by deploying the the project based on OS timer, this for sure isn't in the scope of a development IDE
