Migrating the Avi Code Databases

Hi,
I have a setup where there is SCOM 200 r2 and AviCode 5.6 installed.
We need to migrate the databases for AviCode. Please let me know the high level steps to complete this.
This is what I have come up with,
- Migrate the SQL databases.
- In the AviCode setup utility, change the database server name and point it to the new sql server.
Please let me know if this is enough or do we need to make any changes at the SCOM end ?
Thanks,
Dhanraj
Regards, Dhanraj

Hi Dhanraj,
Before migrating SEViewer DB stop Intercept Services on all the Intercept Agents targeted to that SEViewer instance. Start those services when the migration is done.
If you don't change SEViewer app location, - so you are only going to migrate DB, - your steps will be enough.
If you change SEViewer location, there are two steps more:
1. Target all the Intercept Agents to new SELog address (this is done within Intercept Management Console).
2. Update SEViewer location in SCOM. Please, read below how to do that.
To change the automatically assigned SEViewer address for a host you’ll need to:-
"Change scope…" to the
"Windows Computer" on the
"Rules" tab
Override "Enable enterprise mode" rule – then you can choose appropriate group in
"For a group" menu or you can choose separate computer in
"For a specific object of class: Windows Computer" menu.
  3. Choose appropriate group or a computer to apply new settings (groups menu or a computers menu will appear depending on the previous selection).
4. Set up appropriate "Override Value" in SEViewer Location (Domain/NetBIOS name depending on your
network settings):
5. Do not use "Default management pack" as destination management pack to avoid possible inconsistencies
– choose/create another one (e.g. "AVIcode… Overrides");
6. Apply the changes.
7.  Run task
"Upgrade Enterprise Agent" on the corresponding
"Enterprise .NET Monitoring Agent" object.
These steps will apply new SEViewer location for the chosen host(s).

  • Migrate the document from database to Content Server

    Dear All;
    There is a ECC6 using for 5 years and I am setting up a External Content Server which link to this ECC6 server, from now on the new incoming documents like scanned document, email etc will save to Content Server.
    However, for the past 5 years those old incoming documents that save in the ECC database, how can l migrate it to Content Server?  In the past the document mostly save with GOS (generic object service) option.
    Please advise.
    Thanks
    Jordan

    Hi Jordan,
    from DMS point of view I would recommend you to see the reports DMS_KPRO_CONVERT and DMS_KPRO_CONVERT2 which can be used to transfer original files from older storage to KPRO storage logic.
    If you want to move the originals from an archive or vault to a Content
    Server, please use the DMS_KPRO_CONVERT and DMS_KPRO_CONVERT2 report I
    would kindly ask you to see teh documentation on DMS_KPRO_CONVERT report
    in transaction SE38, which explains the whole process and gives
    necessary information.
    This conversion program offers two possibilites:
    - Complete migration:
    The meta data of the document info record and the checked-in original
    application files are migrated together. The checked-in original
    application files are transported into the storage catgories.
    - Step-by-step migration:
    In the first step meta data is migrated. The original application files
    remain in the old storage data. The migration of original application
    files starts after you have processed the files with the integrated
    viewer and checked them into a secure storage area.
    I hope this information could be useful for you. Further I would
    really recommend you to get in touch with your local consulting
    organisation because this is a very critical and individual process.
    To grant that the whole migration is done correctly I can only advise
    you to contact your local consulting organisation.
    Best regards,
    Christoph

  • Impact of migrating to a new database on the existing code

    There is a java application that connects to postgreSQL as the database server. postgreSQL is installed under LINUX. I am planning to migrate the existing postgreSQL database to a SQL Server 2000 database under windows. In case of such an action will the application code need to be changed? If yes will it be a major change? Pls advise.

    I left my crystal ball at home today; plus, I've never seen the code for the application in question,so it's kind of hard for me to say. Maybe this is a bit of a stretch, but isn't that what you, as a developer, should be determining? Based on the question(s) in your original post, do you truly believe someone is going to respond with a concrete answer? Do you think everyone but you knows if the application will need to be changed; and, if so, how big of a deal it will be? Come on, give me a break.
    As for a few pointers that might help you come up with some answers:
    - Is the SQL SQL-99 compliant (i.e. least common denominator kind of stuff) or is it postgreSQL-specific?
    - Is the SQL fairly well contained within the code; or better yet in a separate file (.properties or XML)?
    - Are you using any kind of persistence layer?

  • Migration of company code from one server to another

    Dear Sir/Madam,
    We are in the process of migrating company code from one server to another server. We have activated the company code with ewt in old server on 01.10.10. We have to migrate the same company w.e.f. 01.11.10 to new server.
    we have two options one is to migrate the company without ewt activation where we can take all the open items and trial balance and then activate ewt and do the required health check up in ewt.
    second option is to activate the ewt and then migrate , here the issue is that if open items are migrated after ewt activation the tds gets calculated again.
    In indian scenario we have to pay the tds (challan updation) by 7th of next month, if we migrate then this is not possible because in the new server we do not have the data in the table required for clearing the entries. We are thinking of doing the challan updation in the old server itself.
    Can you suggest us the option through which we can migrate the company code. If you have any other option then please suggest.

  • Error in error code database

    Hi,
    I have this error (screenshot provided), which problem is its asking for a password. I think this vi is ni developed. So, I have tried to reinstall labview but still this cannot work. Thanks, for any help.
    Best regards,
    Edwin
    Attachments:
    error_code_database_password.zip ‏52 KB

    Hi Edwin,
    The error is most likely caused by opening an LLB in a newer version of LabVIEW
    than the version it was developed on. It is commonly seen with the "Error
    Code Database.vi" when upgrading from LabVIEW 6.x to 7.x, if the original
    main VI using the "Simple Error Handler.vi" and it was saved in
    an LLB including the VI.LIB files ("File » Save with Options... » Include
    vi.lib files"). To fix the issue, make sure to use the VI.LIB files (VIs) from the current development system on the machine.
    You can replace for example the "Simple Error Handler.vi" by
    right-clicking it on the block diagram, choose "Replace" and then
    browse to the "Simple Error Handler.vi" in the palette.
    Please refer to the following KnowledgeBase about this error:
    My Copy of the Error Code Database VI from LabVIEW 6.1 Does Not
    Work in LabVIEW 7.0
    To not run into this error again in the future, do not save the VI.LIB with the
    VI, unless you are distributing to a system without the same VI.LIB files
    available (e.g. from Full Development system to Base Package).
    Let me know if you get it to work, thanks.
    Have fun!

  • Error code database

    My program written in Labview 6.1 has errors when trying to run it with Labview 7.1  The "Error Code database.VI" is not executable and requires a password to access the block diagram.  The error states that " Call library function node" not found in library.
    How do I fix this problem?

    This probably happened because you saved your LLB with VI.lib VIs and LV can't open the new version of that VI.
    Try closing your VI, opening a new VI, placing a General Error Handler VI in it and then opening your VI. This should force it to load the VI already in memory, which was loaded when you called the general error handler. If it works, save the VI so it remembers its new location.
    Try to take over the world!

  • Which is the best way to migrate the SQL SERVER 2000 Database to SQL SERVER 2003 Database?

    Hi,
        I  need to migrate the Production database sql server 2000 to Sql server 2003, Please give me the best idea to migrate the database without any loss data, credentials and  Objects.
    Nandha Kumar

    SQL server does not have any version named SQL server 2003 please check the version correctly it should be either SQL 2005,2008,2008 R2,2012
    You can use the backup/restore to upgrade the SQL 2000 database to till SQL 2005,2008,2008R2
    For SQL Server 2000 to 2012
    First upgrade from SQL 2000 database to either SQL 2005, 2008 or 2008R2 and than upgrade it to SQL 2012.
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sqlserver/en-US/eaa1eb44-729f-466b-8233-cb768fbb4208/upgrading-to-sql-server-2008-from-sql-server-2000?forum=sqlsetupandupgrade

    And after migration to SQL 2005 or 2008, if you want to script the database than can generate scripts pick DB and check off "script all objects in the selected database".
    http://blog.sqlauthority.com/2011/05/07/sql-server-2008-2008-r2-create-script-to-copy-database-schema-and-all-the-objects-data-schema-stored-procedure-functions-triggers-tables-views-constraints-and-all-other-database-objects/
    You can upgrade from SQL Server 2005, SQL Server 2008, and SQL Server 2008 R2 to SQL Server 2012.

    Here's a routine that also searches for subreports to set the log on info. Simply remove that aprt to set the main report logon info:
    IDatabaseTablePtr pTable;
    //get first table
    pTable = m_Report->Database->Tables->GetItem(1) ;
    long lTableCount = m_Report->Database->Tables->Count;
    for( long lTable=1; lTable<=lTableCount; lTable++ )
         pTable = m_Report->Database->Tables->GetItem(lTable);
         pTable->ConnectionProperties->DeleteAll();
         pTable->ConnectionProperties->Add("DSN", "Name of your DSN");
         pTable->ConnectionProperties->Add("Database", "Demo");
         pTable->ConnectionProperties->Add("Password", "sa");
         pTable->ConnectionProperties->Add("User ID", "1Oem2000");
    // Log on the tables of the subreports.
    long lSectionCount = m_Report->Sections->Count;
    for( long lSection=1; lSection<=lSectionCount; lSection++ )
         ISectionPtr pSection = m_Report->Sections->Item[lSection];
         long lSubreportCount = pSection->ReportObjects->Count;
         for( long lSubreport=1; lSubreport<=lSubreportCount; lSubreport++ )
              IReportObjectPtr pSubreportObject = pSection->ReportObjects->Item[lSubreport];
              CRObjectKind crObjectKind;
              pSubreportObject->get_Kind(&crObjectKind);
              if( crObjectKind == crSubreportObject )
                   ISubreportObjectPtr SubReportPtr = pSubreportObject;
                   IReportPtr pSubReport = SubReportPtr->OpenSubreport();
                   long lTableCount = pSubReport->Database->Tables->Count;
                   for( long lTable=1; lTable<=lTableCount; lTable++ )
                        pTable = m_Report->Database->Tables->GetItem(lTable);
                        pTable->ConnectionProperties->DeleteAll();
                        //pTable->ConnectionProperties->Add("DSN", "dwcb12003");
                        pTable->ConnectionProperties->Add("Database", "CrystalEport_DB");
                        pTable->ConnectionProperties->Add("Password", "sa");
                        pTable->ConnectionProperties->Add("User ID", "1Oem2000");
    If that doesn't work you need to tell us what is the error you are getting and paste in the code you are using.

  • Migrated the database to ASM storage .

    Hi friends,
    I have migrated the database from 10g(non-asm) to 11g ASM storage on solaris machine. I am facing database slowness after the database upgrade.I don't find any problem in the ADDM/AWR report.
    Could you please suggest me whether anything needs to check?
    Regards

    Can you run ADDM from the dbconsole?
    Also you can run sql tuning advisor.
    However, its worth checking your diskgroups.
    Can you post Mountpoints defined in /etc/vfstab ?

    the question is:
    Wich steps do we have to make?
    Is there a documented way or method to do this?
    Kind regards
    Steffen

    Hello,
    thanks for your answer:
    the database names are the same.
    We made already a full database export und imported it into the target database.
    This was not succesfull, because after the import in the target database
    the table dba_registered_snapshot was not filled!
    Now: what to do?
    Kind regards.

  • Changes made in BCC how it be impact in the code & Database

    Hi,
          Whatever changes made in BCC how it be impact in the code & Database . Example : Price  ll be change in the BCC . Could u please briefly explain about this.

    Hi Gugan,
    From your description if i am understanding correctly, i think you are looking for information on BCC VS production like the changes which are performed in BCC how they are reflecting in DB and then production, if this is your question.
    BCC will have its own Database which is version and maintain the information of production Database and agents which are our production sites.
    When you observe CA console you will come to know about agents, along with that there will be a repository mapping which will map source repository to destination repository which will make sure that the data is mapped to correct repositories.
    after configuring all required sites and repository mappings when we do a deployment with changes, a successful deployment will push the data to the production data base and a cache invalidation will take place so that the newly deployed changes will appear on the production site.
    you can find a very nice explanation on ATG Content Administration Programming Guide
    if you are looking on some thing else feel free to update the post.

  • Missing Discoverer reports after migrating the EUL to new Database.

    Our Environment is Discoverer Relational- OLTP
    We have recently migrated the source database from Oracle 9.2.0.6 to 10.2.00.0 RAC, this made us to migrate the Discoverer to new database in production.
    Below are the database objects we migrated to new database.
    1. EUL schema
    2. Schemas referred by the Objects in the EUL (schemas containing functions, tables, views etc)
    3. Based on trigger we created to filter active discoverer database accounts, migrated only active database users to new database.
    Note: we had almost 4000 Discoverer users from 2005, since many of these users moved out of company or not using discoverer permanently, and there are users who used discoverer once in year or once in 6 months.
    Finally we come up with 300 Active Discoverer users to be migrated to new database.
    Issues: After migration
    Some of the migrated users did not get their reports migrated which are shared by other users? [Since we didn’t migrate these users schemas as they are not active].
    We have queried the EUL5_DOCUMENTS table in new database for a particular inactive users account (account which is not migrated) is not showing any reports owned by him.
    Since we have migrated EUL schema and active users new database, is this will effect the EUL, [Information related to non active users gets deleted from the EUL in New Database]
    Some users who are not figured in the active migrated list are requesting to get access to discoverer on new database. Can you please suggest the correct way to migrate these accounts.
    Exporting the accounts will work?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello, I am migrating from the PC to the Macintosh and I would like to move my music collection.
    Copy the music files themselves is fairly easy, and I also know how to authorize my computer to play the DRM protected files i have.
