  • Oracle Forms from 6i to 10g -only blank screen is displaying after deployme

    I have converted oracle Forms from 6i to 10g (almost 10 forms). In the development environment all 10 forms are working fine without any problems. I have deployed the forms in the server. Now all the forms are working fine except one form. Only blank screen is displaying in this case. What could be the reason? How to resolve this issue? This form is also working fine in the development environment.
    Thanks for all your suggestions.

    some possibilities:
    1. check the java console of the plugin you use (Jinitiator, Sun-plugin) and see if there are any errors reported.
    2. Do a full recompile of the form (ctrl+Shift+K, at least in german version)
    3. Maybe a navigation problem (seems unlikely for it works in dev-environment, but give it a try):
    Create a new block, put a navigable textitem in it and show that textitem on your canvas, but that block as first navigatin block in the form-properties.
    4. Check other Pre-triggers(Pre-block, pre-textitem) if they are executed and may fail.
    hope this helps

  • URGENT !!!!!!!!!How to pass parameters to Forms from Reports(Oracle 10g)

    Hai
    I can call a form named "ABC" from one Report, using "hyperlink" . The URL is
    http://....../forms90/f90servlet?form=c:/ABC&userid=a/a@a
    Now I want to pass 2 parameters (that are received in that report) to the form ABC.
    I am using Oracle 10g.
    What to do?
    Please reply soon.
    I am eagerly waiting for the solution.
    Please Help.
    Bye

    Hai
    Thank u for the reply.
    Is it possible to pass the variable instead of values.
    My report receives 2 parameters named p1 & p2. Actually I want to pass that parameters to the form from the report.
    I have tried as You said.
    //http/.........&otherparams=param1=:p1+param2=:p2
    Then the form receives the ":p1" as the value, it does not take the value of that variable p1.
    Please Reply Soon.

  • How to call a form from WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT 10g  Is this possible?????

    how to call a form from WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT
    I would like to call a form using the WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT the idea is from the menu that is attached to the form instead of use call_form use WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT(...my_newform.fmx)
    Is this possible?????

    Hi ,
    I think yes...but under some circumstances....
    In your formsweb.cfg file you should define a named configuration alias... such as:
    [TEST]
    workingDirectory=C:\TEST_DIR
    form=C:\TEST_DIR\MY_NEWFORM.FMX
    Then , after stopping , starting your OC4J instance..... you call that as (in a button , for example):
    web.show_document('http:<your_server>:<port>/forms/frmservlet?config=[TEST]',_blank);
    I have not tested it.....

  • Need help in migration of database from 8i to 10g

    Hi,
    I have to upgrade the database of our application form 8.1.6 to 10g release2 version.
    I am new in this job.
    Can anyoneone give the guideline that in which part i have to taken care of specially.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    here i have one more idea:
    if you only want a dump for the Structure, use the "CONTENT=METADATA_ONLY" in expdp.
    In this case, you will not have data, but only the Datastructures (Users, tablespaces, tables etc.)
    You can control, what is transferred by doing an impdp with the parameter "SQLFILE=filename.sql".
    In this file you will find all statements; p.ex "create user User5 identified by values '44U7369872587307';"
    after Importing this (without sqlfile=) in your new instance, you can later import from a full dump only the needed schemata
    # impdp ... .... SCHEMAS=HR,U555 ..... TABLE_EXISTS_ACTION=REPLACE
    To import tehe schemata online in your new instance, you need a databaselink p.ex OLD_DB (user system).
    in impdp you can use the parameter NETWORK_LINK=OLD_DB instead of DUMPFILE=
    -much success-

  • Migrate Infopath forms from MOSS 2007 to SharePoint 2010

    Hi,
    Please provide help
    Migrate infopath 2007 forms in MOSS 2007 to SharePoint 2010

    How many forms do you have that needs to migrate from 2007 to 2010?
    You can also open the 2007 forms in Designer mode of InfoPath 2010, save as 2010 filler or browser.
    You need to make sure data connections are updated to point to new sites/document libraries/lists etc.
    Any custom code that may contain data connections should be updated.
    Inspect Rule Inspector to see if you find any connections hardcoded anywhere.

  • Suggetions required for migrating Oracle forms 4.5 to 10G

    Hi,
    We are migrating an application, which is built using oracle forms 4.5 to oracle 10G forms. I have following queries:
    1. We are trying to automate some steps in this process using following approach:
    a. Migrating forms 4.5 to 6i using command line option
    b. Migrating forms 6i to 10G using migration assistant
    c. Using forms API for setting some properties automatically like Coordinate system, fonts etc.
    But Still there are several steps that need to be taken care manually. Esp. GUI correction related. Can any body suggest any thing additional to this or any better approach.
    2. What is the best way of approaching this migration? Are there standard tools available and are they realy useful ( or still lot's to be done manually).
    3. Any other useful tip.

  • Migration Problem Form 6.0 to 10g

    I have developed all my packages in Form 6. Recently I ran this application on 10g. Everything works fine but my push button display is not full or it is incomplete. The bottom horizontal edge is not displayed but when I click my mouse on the push button, I am able to see the complete button. I tried to increase its height but still it doesn't work. I created a dummy push button in the same form to see its display but it too shows incomplete display.
    Please note I am not using icon it is text push button.
    When I create a new form in 10g and use push button then the display is complete.
    Can anyone help me to sort out this problem.
    Thanks

  • Calling a form from html in 10g R1

    I have a simple insert/update web-form(10g R1) to maintain employee history.
    emp_hist.fmb has fields:
    name:
    start_date:
    end_date:
    dept:
    Remarks:
    This form has a button to output a detail history report of all employees in html.
    The html puts a hyperlink for each record, which when clicked brings the user back to emp_hist.fmb
    For instance, I enter data for employee B and click the button to generate
    html report. Now I click on the hyperlink for employee A in the report,
    emp_hist.fmb is called but still displays the data for employee B.
    The hyperlink underneath each record in the report which calls the form is:
    'http://localhost:8890/forms90/f90servlet?form=emp_hist.fmx'
    How do I pass the information to the form that it needs to display
    record on employee A and not B ,i.e. record for which ever hyperlink was
    clicked?
    I would appreciate any help.

    I am able to invoke the form through the hyperlink in the report html,
    but I still have the problem of not being able to pass the required parameter
    to have the form display a particular record.
    The problem is that the html page might have anywhere from 1 to 100 hyperlinks based on who is logged on.
    Each link is a unique set of record. So I need to figure out how to
    dynamically obtain the values for the parameters to pass in the URL that calls the
    form. The parameter values needs to be assigned based on hyperlink the user clicks on.

  • Problem with OO4O opendatabase() call, migrating the client from 9i to 10g

    I have the following code:
    VARIANT* pvaparams = new VARIANT[3];
    if (pvaparams == NULL)
    return NULL;
    for (int nIndex = 0; nIndex < 3; nIndex++)
    VariantInit(&pvaparams[nIndex]);
    pvaparams[0].vt = VT_I4;
    pvaparams[0].lVal = ORADB_ORAMODE;
    pvaparams[1].vt = VT_BSTR;
    pvaparams[1].bstrVal = bstrConnect; //user and passwd
    pvaparams[2].vt = VT_BSTR;
    pvaparams[2].bstrVal = bstrDBname; //database name
    VARIANT va_out;
    VariantInit(&va_out);
    va_out.vt = VT_DISPATCH; // expect IDispatch* for database
    DISPPARAMS params = {pvaparams, NULL, 3, 0};
    EXCEPINFO eInfo;
    unsigned int uiArgErr;
    //dispid_OpenDatabase OK, previously obtained
    hRes = m_pIOracleSession->Invoke( dispid_OpenDatabase, IID_NULL,1033,
    DISPATCH_PROPERTYGET , &params , &va_out,
    &eInfo, &uiArgErr );
    if ( FAILED( hRes ) )
    throw new COracleDBXception(eInfo);
    This is from an application developped in VC++ 5 which uses COM and OO40 for connecting to a 9i database; and works fine, with a 9.2.0.1.0 client.
    I have updated the server to 10g and kept the client and it's running OK.
    After that, I have installed the 10.2.0.1.0 client and it's not working anymore; the odd thing is that the call to Invoke() has succeded and hRes is 0, but there is no connection to the database!!!
    I set a breakpoint after Invoke() and, from PL/SQL Developer, the "select OSUSER, PROGRAM, TERMINAL from v$session t where username='NORO';" command reports nothing; with the 9i client, it was reporting 1 connection.
    I would like to add that I had uninstalled completely the 9i client and after that I installed the 10g client.
    Can anyone give me a hint?
    Thank you!

    Can anyone give me a explanation?
    PS: The call to opendatabase() is successfull, but we don't see a connection on the database server and we get a SEGV error: "function not mapped to object".

  • Migrating from 9i to 10g designer

    Is there documentation on migrating Designer/Repository from 9i to 10g.
    We have a 9i database and 9i designer. What are the specific steps to be done.
    I know oracle normally has a migration path for its products.
    any tips would be helpful.

    Documentation is in the release notes. Actually, it is quite simple.
    First backup your Repository with the Repository Administration Utility (RAU).
    Install Designer 10g - this can be done in the same ORACLE_HOME as 9i or in a new ORACLE_HOME if you wish. Do this for all Designer users that share your Repository - once you upgrade the repository, old versions of Designer won't be able to use it.
    Then start RAU again. You will notice that the Upgrade button, which is normally grayed out, has become active, and some of the other buttons are grayed out. Use the Check System Requirements utility to make sure that your Repository Owner has all of the needed permissions and that other configurations are correct. It is particularly important that the registry settings that point Designer at "imp" and "exp" point to versions that are compatible with your database version. By the way, the latest version of the Repository requires at least Oracle 9iR2.
    Finally, press the Upgrade button and start the upgrade. This will take a while but went pretty smoothly for me.

  • Migrating forms from  to 6i5

    Hi,
    I'm migrating my forms from 5 to 6i, and everythink seems to go ok apart from combo box fields. I have some forms withs this type of fields and after migrating this combo box don't appear in the window but they appear in the canvases. All the properties seems to be fine.
    I only can see the field if instead of type='combo box' i choose 'pop list'.
    Any help would be appreciate.
    Thanks

    Javier,
    from the top of my head i can remember that there was an upgrade problem like this. I searched the bug database but cannot find an entry about this. I think i remember that yiu had to re-build (delete and build again) the combo box to come around this issue. If you use record groups for populating the list then you don't have to rebuild them.

  • Reports upgradation from 6i to 10g

    Hi!
    We are upgrading all our reports and forms from 6i to 10g.
    I am facing the following problem.
    In our 6i report, we were scheduling a report from the report server (frequency every hour).
    Here the output pdf file we are storing in a folder on the server.
    We are assigning the full pathname and file name to the Desname in the After Parameter form Report trigger.
    Desname := directory path||filename.pdf
    This command works in 6i. The output pdf file is generated in the respective folder. But however this command is not working in the 10g server.
    If we dont assign the path and file name to the Desname parameter then the o/p file is generated. It is going to the default location.
    Can anybody help me in solving this problem? Is there any other method to achieve the same result?

    Is there anybody who can help me on this? I need help urgently in this matter.
