Migration of Techincal Content

Hello,
All the dataflows of tehnical content, when activated, is deliverd in 3.5 version. Our BI system is 7.0.
Is there a good reason (not) to migrate the technical content?
Since there are no DSO's in these flows, the Cubes are loaded directly from datasources (so "old" data is not being stored in DSO's), these dataflows are not built according to the 3-layer principle. Should we migrate these flows to 7.0, does anybody have experience with this?
Thanx.
Kind regards,
Danijela

Yes can be.
But its more depends on the kind of application that you are working.
Lets say if the flows are of Finance related then for most of the Finance application you will have the initial layer as Cube but not DSO.
So check this point before you want to introdue the new objects.
So its more of Data source Delta capability issues.. So check in ROOSOURCE and RODELTAM and check proceed further with the decision on this point.
Note: If you want to migrate to Bi7.0 then you need to do it manually as you have the existing version in 3.x.
Hope this helps..

  • Migration of portal content from EP 6.0 SP 15 to NW 2004s Portal

    Hi,
Our requirement here is to migrate Portal content from EP version 6.0 SP15 to the latest Netweaver portla (NW2004s). Expecting helpful suggestions from SAP EP gurus!!!
All helpful answers will be rewarded. Gurus, please help!!!
    Cheers,
    L Buegg.

    Leena,
These are the steps in migrating the portal content from the EP 6 SP15 to the Netweaver Portal (EP 7.0 or the NW 2004s Portal) in simple:
    1. Go to <b>System Administration -> Transport -> Portal Content</b>. Right click on the folder, you wish to transport. Select <b>New -> Transport Package</b> .
    2. Fill all the details (like name of the transport package, id etc) and then add the objects(iViews, Pages etc) you wish to transport to the newly created transport package by right clicking on the objects.
    3. Once the objects are all added, click on Export in the object editor of the Transport package and the export happens immediately.
    4. Navigate to Drive\usr\SAP\SID_Instance\Sys\global\pcd\Export of the EP 6 SP 15 Portal Server. You will see the epa file created during this export process.
    5. Copy this epa file and place it in Drive\usr\SAP\SID_Instance\Sys\global\pcd\Import folder structure of the NW 2004s Portal Server. Go to <b>System Administration -> Transport -> Import</b> and do the import as you would import any business package.
This are the steps to export and import the portal content from one portal server to another portal server.
    Hope this helps!!!

  • BI Statistic and Techincal Content

I am a bit confuse with the relationship between BI Statistic and Technical Content in BI7. Can you please confirm my understanding below:
    1) In BI 7, in order to record the BI Statistic, we MUST turn on the Query, InfoProvider etc via transaction code RSDDSTAT.
    2) Once this is done, system will record the statistic of that Query/InfoProvider data automatically.
Turning on the BI Statistic means nothing if we didn't didn't carry the following right? I mean we can build query to report the statistic data, correct?
    3)     In order to display this statistic data via transaction code ST03, we MUST turn on the Technical Content.
    4)     Schedule the Process Chain and load the data from the statistic table into Technical Content.
    5)     Once this is done, we can display the statistic data via transaction code ST03.
    6)     Because we have loaded the statistic data into Technical Content, then we can delete the old statistic data.
    7)      Now we can build Query on top of this Techincal Content and report the Statistic data, correct?

    Hi Iynn,
Your understanding is correct. for number 6) "Because we have loaded the statistic data into Technical Content, then we can delete the old statistic data ", you don't have to delete the data manually as it will be done automatically every 14 days if your system is lower than SP16 (it's now 30 days with SP16 and above). If you want to change this behavior, you can use program SAP_RSADMIN_MAINTAIN to create entry TCT_KEEP_OLAP_DM_DATA_N_DAYS in RSADMIN table with the value you desire. Cool!! You're welcome - but BDAqua (there's that name again!) deserves the credit (although I knew it too)
So much for a Mac's claim of 'continuity' and 'ease of use' huh?
BDAqua is a venerable friend of ours here... you will kick yourself!

  • Migrating existing site content to UCM

We looking for any tools, APIs that help in migrating the existing content of web sites to UCM. The site content is structured and needs to mapped to WCM content in UCM. The site has static as well as dynamic content.
For dynamic content we are assuming a DB is used. But not sure if the entire functional information shown for a page is coming from the DB. Want to understand if any tools are available to make migration of content from a DB to UCM.
For static pages we have to extract the content and move it to UCM. Here also it is not clear as to how many static pages are there. Our concern is that if too many static pages (having a similar template) are there then manual migration may not work out. We may have to parse the html content and create structured WCM content out of them. Our doubt is do we have any API to create WCM content programatically?
    Regards,
    Pratap

    Hi Pratap,
we here at Fishbowl have developed just such a site migrator. It takes existing sites and will import and build them into a new WCM (10gR4) site.
Our site migrator focuses on the body content of the sites (i.e. what end users will be editing in context). You still need to build out your navigation structure etc. However, we do parse the contents of your existing sites into specific region definitions of the new WCM.
contact [email protected] for more info.

  • How to Migrate the Existing Content

    Hi every1,

    Thanks & Regards
    Vasu

    Hi Vasu,
as said, I don't know Interwoven in detail. But if you would get the Interwoven Business Package, maybe you could get some insight how to access Interwoven content per API (at least, Interwoven <i>has</i> a Java API, see http://blogs.ittoolbox.com/km/content/archives/005150.asp for example; but I would ask Interwoven or within some Interwoven forum for the details, and on this site for the details of SAP KM API... ).
    Hope it helps

    Hi,
If you would like to move SharePoint 2010 Content Database to a different drive, there could be two ways:
    1. Move to a new server instance using a SQL Alias. For more information:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc512725(v=office.14).aspx
    2. The other is to move database to a new drive. For more information:

  • Is there a way to migrate my iPhoto content into Lightroom 5?

I have been using iPhoto as my photo organising app since I first got my Mac, and I'm reasonably happy with the way it works. I have all my photos organised into 'Events', and it is all very satisfactory.
However I am aware that iPhoto is on it's way out with the upcoming release of Yosemite in the autumn, and so I wondered about changing over to the 3rd Party, (but highly recommended), Adobe Lightroom app.
I've paid my money for the Adobe 'Creative Cloud' subscription package, which includes full versions of both Lightroom 5 and Photoshop, but I've hit a snag when I come to migrate my photos from iPhoto 9.5.1 into Lightroom 5.5.
Does anyone know if there is a way to migrate iPhoto content -organised into Events- into Lightroom please?
I am running iPhoto under OS X 10.9.4.

iPhoto is not on the way out with the release of Yosemite. Apple have stated that it will be updated to run on Yosemite. That means that iPhoto will continue to run for another 18 months at least.  iPhoto will then be migrated into a new App, called Photos, sometime in 2015. This migration will include the seamless adapting of your iPhoto app to the new Library. Even then, iPhoto will still continue to run until you update to a version of the OS that doesn't run it at all. There has been a lot of discussion on the merits or otherwise of migrating to Lightroom. One thing is sure is that there is no rush, and it might be worth waiting to see what the new Photos app is like before making such a big decision.
You've gone from using a consumer level Photo Manager (retail cost $15) to a using two very serious professional level applications (combined retail cost about $800 - if you could still buy Photoshop at retail at all.) Even at subscription rates thats $100+ per year. Are you sure that's what you want to do? That's a heck of a learning curve for a start.
    Anyway to cases:
Lightroom has no ability at all to parse an iPhoto Library. There is no migration path at all. So you'll need to export your Events to folders in the Finder. Then import those to Lightroom.
When you export you're going to have to choose which version to export - the original or the edited versions. Or both - and have duplicates in your Lightroom library. Also, you'll need to consider what to do with metadata that you may have added in iPhoto. Along the way you'll lose the non-destructive editing feature.
    This User Tip
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4921
has details of the options in the Export dialogue.

  • RE:Migration of KM content

    Hi Experts
I want to migrate KM content from development to production server (EP7).Will the metadata propeties get migrated if i use  ICE protocol.I also need to migrate the properties related to search.  Will i be able to achieve this through ICE protocol or should i use CTS transport to migrate configuration  properties.
Please suggest me to proceed further.
    Regards
    Chandana

    Hi chandana,
no matter which way you use for the transport, you need to first migrate the[ KM properties configuration|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/e1/029c414c79b25fe10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm] and afterwards the KM content. You can make use of a Change and Transport System (CTS) if you have one, but that's not required.
After you have successfully transported the configuration, you can use WebDAV or ICE to transport content, if you only care about your custom properties relevant for search, but the new tool provided with NW7.0 SPS14 is the more advanced. It allows you to filter documents and also to transport the GUID. The link to the documentation is provided by Steve above, and just to make sure, it works also for folders and not only for single documents.
    Hope this helps,
    Robert

  • Can't create DTP for cube migrated from business content to 2004s

I am in the process of converting 3.5 Business Content InfoProviders to the new model for 2004s.
Master data was not a problem, but I’m having a hard time getting InfoCubes to migrate.
I installed 0PUR_C03 from Business Content and replicated the DataSource into the Data Warehouse.
I right-clicked 2LIS_02_S013, selected Additional Functions, then chose “Transformation erzeugen” (a.k.a. Create Transformation in English).
The transformation is generated with no errors and it was activated.  The DataSource is migrated automatically in the process.
Then, I went to add the Data Transfer Process and that is where I got stuck.
I right-clicked the cube and took Create DTP.  For source type, I selected datasource.  A dialog box then shows the objects associated with the cube, including the converted infosource, but nothing is highlighted for me to choose from, and I can’t complete the process of creating the DTP.
Can anyone tell me where I might have gone wrong?

    u got it...

  • Issue after Migration: ID and Content-ID are different in SOAP Payload

    Hi Experts,
I am facing a strange issue in the PI landscape after the migration from XI 3.0 to PI 7.1.
The scenario is from R/3 system to TIBCO System (Proxy-to-SOAP). The TIBCO system receives the file in SOAP Format. The message is sent from PI via SOAP adapter to TIBCO System.
There is a attachment coming from the R/3 System along with the main message and the main payload/message has a "attachment-ID" as a field. Earlier what used to happen in XI 3.0 that the "Attachment-ID" used to equal to the "Content-ID" when the SOAP payload was generated at the TIBCO end. Now after migration, in PI 7.1 the "Attachment-ID" and "Content-ID" are different. We have control over the "Attachment-ID" as it is coming from the source payload but we do not have any control over the "Content-ID" as we are not creating it.
Can anyone of you please let me know how the SOAP Payload is created and how the content-ID gets populated in the Header of the SOAP Envelope? Also, can anyone help me to fix this issue? Is it something which needs to be handled by us or the BASIS Team?
    Thanks,
    Arkesh

    Hi Ramesh,
Thank You for the very Helpful Answer. Before I proceed and close this thread, I have one more question which comes to my mind:
I create my own SOAP Header if I apply the solution provided by you then will the rest of the details in the SOAP Header payload will change or do I need to customize it for myself? For e.g., there is a field named MessageId in the SOAP Header. If I write a Java Mapping, do I need to manually populate the MessageId field in the SOAP Header of my java code or will it be automatically populated?
My requirement is to change only the content ID of the SOAP Header Payload and the rest of the fields should remain the same as it is. Is it possible with the approach that you mentioned above?
    Thanks,
    Arkesh

  • Migration of WPC content Netweaver 7.3

    Hi all,
We have upgraded our sandbox portal to 7.3. We have quite a few WPC users and websites created. I understand from SAP Note 1371703 that WPC solutions are migrated accordingly during the system landscape upgrade.
Unfortunately, no WPC content has been migrated after the upgrade. Does anyone know what might be the issue for not migrating the content?
    Regards,
