MiniDP to HDMI with audio for Imac bought in february

Hi
I want to know if there is any way I can output videos using HDMI with audio with an Imac bought in februaary 2010? I saw the Moshi cable but apparently it does not support audio for early 2010 macs. Any suggestions or info on this? What could I do?
Thanks.

Hi,
as far as I know there seems to be two versions of that Moshi adapter.
An earlier one without audio and a later one with audio support.
But I don't know how to distinguish one form the other. Maybe the Moshi website can offer some hints.
Since Apple lists the later one in the document plus sells it in their own Store I assume they tested it with the various Mac mentioned in that document.
Regards
Stefan

  • Hdmi with audio for MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2009)

    Hi
Have anyone used aa cable to send video and hdmi on this particular model? I'd use a displayport-to-hdmi cable (male-male). but, i've read that this particular model won't send the audio signal over.
    this is my computer: http://support.apple.com/kb/SP541
    thoughts?

Mini display port on that model does not carry audio. To get audio you must also use audio cable as well as hdmi cable.

  • Mini DVI to HDMI with audio. Where can I find it?

I'm looking for a cable adapter (mini DVI to HDMI with audio) to my mac book air (2010). Where can I find it?

DVI and miniDVI only transmit video-signals but no audio-signal.
Regardless of the cable adapter you get (I don't have any recommendation) you always have to make a audio-cable connection between the MBA and the TV.

  • No sync with audio for input files AVI MPEG4 23.976 fps

No sync with audio for input files AVI MPEG4 23.976 fps.
If i open in Premiere Pro CC any file AVI MPEG4 23.976 fps (with internal audio MP3 or AC3) i got growing out of sync from start to end of file, even while play it at internal media player of Premiere Pro CC for source file.
Using external audio files AC3 or MP3 not help.
In properties of source file i see 23.97 fps instead of 23.976 fps, and time of internal file is wrong.
If i try Clip > Modify > Interpreter Footage > custom settings to 23.976 time i see right time, but when i click "OK", custom fps saved as 23.98 fps instead of 23.976 fps and time of source goes wrong again.
So i always get bad sync such files in Premiere Pro CC while play or export them.
But in all media players, other editors, and in PluralEyes sync OK with all such files.
If i open M2TS or MP4 (H264 23.976 fps) source file, all OK, it it shows as 23.976 fps, time is right, and sync OK.
So i want to add automatic detection 23.976 fps instead of 23.97 fps for source AVI files with 23.976 fps.
    Is it possible?

Yes, i know what XviD and DivX does not edit well in Premiere Pro. And because of that i create this topic "No sync with audio for input files AVI MPEG4 23.976 fps" and was hoping to get help in solving the problem, rather than stating that the problem really is.
XviD and DivX it is MPEG4.
Xvid (formerly "XviD") is a video codec library following the MPEG-4 standard, specifically MPEG-4 Part 2 Advanced Simple Profile (ASP).
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xvid
I have many old useful materials in XviD and DivX formats, and have no other formats versions for that material.
XviD and DivX are very compact formats to store video at acceptable quality and it is fully compatible with all players and editors for PC except Premiere Pro.
You suggest to convert them to another format (DV) to make compatible with Premiere Pro... It is not what i want.
    Let me explaine:
    1) Size of files
uploaded AVI XviD 1280x720 file with very good quality have size 1.9Gb (with audio AC3 2.0). If i convert it via VirtualDub from "AVI XviD" to AVI DVCPRO HD 1280x720 (without audio) it have size 35Gb, and quality is worst than at XviD-HD, and also converting take much time.
    2) Compatibility with AC3 and MP3 audio inside AVI
AVI DV / AVI DVCPRO not compatible with AC3 and MP3 audio inside, only with PCM
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DV
AVI XviD and DivX can use AC3, MP3, OGG audio without any problems.
    Size of 1Hour 30Min "AC3 Stereo 48kHz 16bit 384Kbps" file is 257Mb
    Size of 1Hour 30Min "PCM Stereo 48kHz 16bit" file is 1030Mb
    3) I have and use hardware H264 encoder card "Matrox CompressHD" for export my material
    http://www.matrox.com/video/en/products/compresshd/specs/
This card works only from Adobe Premiere Pro, so i can not use it from VirtualDub or other editing software.
So i need a full compatibility Adobe Premiere Pro with all popular standard formats of input files.
    Here we see:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/extend.html#Supportedvideoformats
    Supported video formats:
"Adobe Premiere Pro CC leads the industry with incredible, thorough native media support, meaning you can edit virtually all of the major video, image, and audio formats natively without waiting."
As most PC users knows, AVI XviD it is a very popular free video format, and would be very useful if Adobe will make normal compatibility with that format in Premiere Pro.

  • Any Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter with audio for macbook pro mid 2009

connecting MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2009) to Hisense TV with audio?!?!!?
    hello everyone.
if anyone is familar with successfully getting the older macbook pros that dont support audio out to stream and preform digital audio on a TV or has any helpful information that will get me familiar with trying to successfully stream audio and visual. and can PLEASE HELP ME in any way to understand what they know and teach me how to solve my problem id really appreciate it.
i want to connect my MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2009) to my Hisense LED LCD TV, ModelNumber:40H3E  and getting digital audio sound from my TV as well as video, but have no clue on how or where to even start to successfully pairing the two and getting sound.
I own a MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2009) this MacBook model doesnt support an HDMI port. My MacBooks model has the Mini Displayport which supports video out but does not support audio out. Can someone help me by telling me exactly which Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter with audio will support my model MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2009) and exactly what HDMI wire do i need to buy that will successfully preform digital audio and sadisfying quality visual through TV?
i have NO expierence with the proccess have NO knowledge about any of this or these Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapters with audio. i have no idea what kind of adapter and HDMI cord to buy that will give me sound from my tv for my type of macbook. '
im not familar AT ALL with any of this so i hope me giving you my MacBook Pros make and model and my TV's model number will be enough information for someone to help me.
just please give me anything you can on this topic
    thank you so much,

With a 2009 MacBook Pro, you need to use two connections to your TV: one for video and another one for audio.  The miniDisplayPort on the 2009 models does not support audio, so you need a separate audio cable:
miniDisplayPort adapter for video - I use the Apple miniDisplayport-DVI adapter + a DVI-HDMI cable like this one
audio cable for audio - use a 3.5mm male stereo-to-2xRCA male cable like this one
Connect the miniDisplayport adapter + DVI/HDMI cable to your MacBook Pro's miniDisplayPort output and the HDMI input on your TV
Connect the audio cable to your MacBook Pro's audio out and your TV's audio in
The only potential gotcha is if your Hisense TV requires audio via the HDMI cable when you use an HDMI cable.  The H3e user manual is unclear about this.

    You have two solutions -
Solution One - the way i did it was with a digital auido to RCA convertor - try here for an example http://www.amazon.co.uk/Digital-Optical-Coaxial-Toslink-Converter/dp/B0074JZ8ZW
    or
    solution two
a Kanex ATV PRo - converts HDMI to VGA and 3.5mm Audio

Both work but there is a cost and a bit of work.

  • Newbe requests help with audio for slide-show on Premiere Elements 4.

I recently wrote you regarding a problem I was having with a slide show I was making on Premiere Elements 4 importing photo clips and music from PhotoShop Elements 9.  Thank you for your help.
This very large slide show, some 200 clips that I have not resized is completed.  I am now having many problems with the music audio I am adding to various sequences of the slide show.  Specifically:the audio will not stay fixed on the places where I put it and end it.  Working on the Timeline Usually the length of the audio is shorter than the ending of the photo clips where it must go.  I click on the audio and stretch it and end it at the place I designate.  However, the other end has moved also so now I am left with a gap where there is no audio at the beginning of the segment.  Now in addition, the "Delete and Close Gap" does not work most of the time causing me to manually move the photo tiles which sometimes move when this happens.  I have to move each one or two individually to the left to close the gap and many times this causes loss of one or two photo tiles or they are out of order or have increase in number (of the one I am moving).
The program has also shut down for the past 10 days causing me to lose a good deal of work and sometimes photo clips and sometimes I get many duplicates of the photo clips.  All I do is edit mostly the same two segments doing this over and over because I can't proceed to importing any more music because I can't get the first segments correct.  I have chatted with you people, Sony techs, Microsoft Techs and Canon Techs.  The Sony techs suggested the program was at fault and I used the original installation disk and repaired the program.  It has still shut down on me but not as much.
I got error messages on the photo-cap instructions page you suggessted otherwise I would show pictures of the above problems.
I tried to copy and/or cut and paste from the Timeline thinking I would start a new slide show in PhotoShop Elements 9 using the same photos in reverse.  The program would not let me copy or paste.  There is great difficulty in highlighting the photo tiles in Timeline because I have to shift click on each individual tile and there are too many tiles and it would take too long to get a whole segment copied.  Maybe you know another way to do this?
I am at a stand-still now and I am quite despondent because I have been working on this slide-show for 3 months and it was a surprise for my daughter's 25th anniversary that was last Tuesday.
I do hope you have some good suggestions that will lelt me complete this Project and get it on a disk.  I am not that technical so please be specific.
    Thanks in advance.
    Kathy

Here's the basic advice I'd give, based on my experience. Much depends, though, on your goals and the specifics of your computer system:
    1) Resize all of your photos to no larger than 1000x750 pixels in size. This is VITAL if you want the program to maintain stability as you work. Also render often (by pressing the Enter key). When the render, the red lines above the clips on your timeline will turn green and the program will run much more efficiently.
    2) Work on your large slideshow project in shorter segments. You've got over 15 minutes worth of slides. Try working on this slideshow in 5 minute segments, output each segment and then combined the finished videos.
    3) Use only WAV audio as your music and audio for your slideshow.
    4) When you add video, audio or stills to a parallel track on your timeline, hold down the Ctrl key to override the ripple function and your current clips will remain in place.
    5) Maintain your computer by using a tool like the excellent, free, one-click Advanced System Care available at http://www.iobit.com/advancedsystemcareper.html
As for Delete and Close Gap, how it performs depends on whether you've selected Clear or Delete, whether you've pressed the Backspace key or the Delete key and if there is video or audio on a parallel track. (This is all covered in my books, by the way, if you're interested.)
Without knowing the specifics of your project and your situation, it's hard to give out more specific information -- but this advice should get you a long way toward completing your project!

  • W510 - DisplayPort to HDMI with Audio

    Hi,
I am wondering if the new Calpella solution in W510 offers DisplayPort to HDMI conversion with audio-support. Is there any information so far regarding this issue?
Would be nice to get some official statement.

  • Help with Audio for Premiere Project

Working on a lengthy project and need some help with audio which is not my specialty!
I am recording using a Sony EX1r and a wireless lav mic,     OK.  Here is what is happening.
When I import the clip into project I get Audio from the left speaker.   If I burn a DVD and playback on home player with surround sound, I get audio out of just the left speaker which makes sense.    SO I go to Premier and use "Fill Left" which fixes the audio on my computer and get sound from left and right speakers.    The odd thing is that when I play this version back from DVD on the surround sound system, the audio now only comes from the CENTER speaker.  I dont get anything out of left OR the right speaker so it sounds hollow.
I am sure I am missing something obvious so please be kind.
Is there an easy way to get my audio to come out of Left, Center, and Right speakers (and rear for that matter) ???
    Thank you
    Ted

    Bill,
The DVD player is a Sony BluRay and the receiver is an Onkyo AV receiver HT-R380.
My thinking is that it is something that I am doing wrong inside Premiere vs something that the DVD player or receiver is doing.    My final product will need to play on a variety of DVD players so I need to get it right.
It just seems odd that my default output DVD provides sound to the left speaker but then removes it when I fill Left.
Am I setting up my audio tracks wrong?  Or should I being doing something with a 5.1 track???
    Thanks
    Ted

  • Black Screen with Audio for Downloaded TV Shows from iTunes

    Hi,
When I try to watch TV shows that I downloaded from the iTunes store..I just get a black screen with audio. I've tried un-installing and re-installing. I'm currently running version 10.1.1.4 on my Win XP Pro machine. I downloaded the entire "Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors" series and cannot get a single ep to give a picture. I've heard that quite a few people are having this issue. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Nic

I can get a picture with Quicktime...but if I try to get enlarge the screen, the picture often becomes corrupted. I'm just rather annoyed that I spent $40 on this series and am having these issues. I only downloaded iTunes because there was no other option of getting this show. I've waited 24 years to see the entire "Liberty Stone" Mini-series (there was a problem with the tapes DIC released and they were missing eps)...so this just feels like a taunt.
I'm hoping this gets fixed quickly. It sounds like there is a lack of standardization with the DRM being used on these files.

  • How do I connect a MBP 5.4 to my TV via HDMI WITH Audio

    I got 4 different cables/connectors:
Mini display port to HDMI Adaptor
    HDMI cable
    3.5 mm audio cable
3.5 mm to RCA Audio adaptor
as recommended in this link http://www.macbook2tv.com/
but still get no sound on my TV. Yes, I tryed to change the sound settings but it doesn't show me any other choices than the built-in or headphone?
How do I get the sound to my TV??? Please help!!! THANKS

I make no excuse for the salespeople at the Apple Store (and I don't work for Apple, so my excuses would be lame anyways).  However, you cannot expect them to know everything about everything on the Mac.  It's an obscure point, and if they were hired during the past year, the MDP to HDMI adapter works perfectly.  Think about this:  I use my Mac nearly 24/7, use several programs nearly 24/7, and I barely scratch the surface of this device.  I use an iPhone 24/7, and I hardly ever drop over there, because there's just too many questions about too many obscure issues.
Again, I'm not sure why you're giving up?  This is fixable, it's probably NOT an issue with your Mac or your cables.  It's probably an issues with either 1) input setup of your TV, or 2) older TV with an incompatible HDMI firmware (1.1 say).  You have everything to make this work, so why are you upset with the Apple folks?  You got everything right except the TV setup.

  • HDMI capture devices for IMac

I noticed that blackmagic design are moving on to less expensive USB 3.0 in their HD video capture devices so I did a bit of lookin around to see weather the Imac or mac book pro could somehow be outfitted with usb 3.0 connections. It turns out that the mac book pro will work with a usb 3.0 card. Unfortunately though, black magic still does not doesn't show any signs of addressing support issues for apple and the usb 3.0 device compatibility issue. Does anyone know which way apple is leaning on the whole usb 3.0 thing. I'm pretty sure it offers exceptional increases in speed over even fw800. Or at least the potential for those increases as a matter of spec. And why not jump on the blueray-r while were at it.

No, there is not. HDMI options on capture cards didn't arrive until after MacPros were released and G5s were discontinued. The only capture cards that work on G5's do not offer HDMI inputs. The Intensity series are PCIe only...AJA Kona line with HDMI are PCIe only....Matrox MXO2 line are PCIe and Express34 only. And your G5 has PCI-X slots.
The AJA Kona 2, Kona LH, Decklink HD cards...things you can only find second hand...do not offer HDMI inputs. You are on a machine that was discontinued 4 years ago, HDMI support was not invented yet.

are you serious about " The thread itself morphed into a discussion of what functionality members wish were available.  I realize that you don't like the answer of "no" that the OP got " ??
    look at my post(s)
Let me rephrase the question then
why is it not possible to send out Audio over displayport in W500? why did Lenovo not integrate it or better asked why disabled it as the specs for this chipset clearly allow it ( as you can see on the DELL notebooks).
so , can I open a new thread for that question to get a proper answer? yes? no?
    and/or
or.. let's make it simpler for everyone... point me to a public document on Lenovo´s website where it clearly says it is not supported and we end the discussion here... as long as this is not the case , this whole thread wont just "end" and many other people will keep asking  regarding this.   "
    and/or
Any of the moderators here know if it is possible to get a official statement on the website via Support Incident? I am very interested in this so that other people do not do the same mistake like we did (as stated we bought 10 of these W500s). I would highly appreciate if you can point me to a link or support email.
    need more?
    To summarize:
Yes  I am definitely not happy with the "NO" as answer without further explanation. My aim is to get a official statement on the website so that other customers do not run in to the same issue.
I am an Engineer and I wonder what would happen if I would answer every customer query with NO or YES without further explanation... But that is not part of this topic.
    thanks

  • HT3924 any HDMI converters available for iMac target display mode yet?

Just got this bed with a pop-out TV, and I'm thinking about getting an iMac 27" to use instead of a TV. Problem is, I'll also want to attach an Apple TV or Freeview box to my iMac - so I can play content from my iPad / watch live TV from the freeview box. This would be technically possible with target display mode, except the Apple TV / Freeview box don't have mini display port output.
Anyone know if there are HDMI to mini display port adapters available yet to facilitate this? From what I've read most of them only output from mini display port to hdmi, not the other way round.

I have a Asus HD6570 2GB Graphics Card in that computer with HDMI out, DVI out, and VGA out. I have a Asus HD6570 2GB Graphics Card in that computer with HDMI out, DVI out, and VGA out.
    None of those will work.
It has to have a Mini DisplayPort, not evn a Display port will work.

I am pretty sure both the latter are compatible--so what can i do to fix this and  what am i currently doing wrong?

Someone recently noted a problem staying logged on the Huffington Post since it became connected with AOL. The workaround for that is to change your connection setting here:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > Network
Click the "Settings" button and choose either "No Proxy" or "Use System Settings" option, and OK the change.
Not sure whether Washington Post could be affected by that same setting.
In reviewing your extensions, I'm puzzled that you have both DoNotTrackMe and SavvyConnect. The first one seems to aggressively block certain communications with websites (potentially affecting functionality) while the second one seems to report on your browsing habits (they better pay well is all I can say). Have you tried disabling both of those to see whether that has any effect?
