Mirroring Issue

A friend of mine cannot get mirroring to work property from her iPad (not sure about her phone). Airplay works fine, and it will mirror, but it does not show up on the screen for several minutes and when it does the lag is somewhat unbelievable. I believe she has an iPad 3, and is running a compatible OS. She has not ran the last update, but here's the catch. I have an iPad 4 and have not ran the last OS update and mirroring works flawlessly from my iPad, my phone and another friends phone, so we know its not their network. Does anyone have an idea as to what we're missing? Any direction is greatly appreciated.

Nevermind. It finally came up after a lot of messing around with both devices. I have no idea what worked.

Apple TV mirroring issues even with Mac mini,airport extreme bought at the end of last year,and an iPad 2

I have the same issue with ATV3 and iPhone 4S. Everything works properly, no buffering issues when watching netflix, vimeo, youtube BUT when I try mirroring even a small 15sec iPhone movie it stutters and buffers and results to a choppy playback..same with larger mp4 files such as 1-1.5GB, buffers forever and never plays, I just re-encoded the same movie to 700MB and plays perfectly..
Why Apple, why?..so close..I can accept the bigger movie files issue, but not being able to playback properly an iPhone movie is funny..I recorded a movie with lower bitrate through Filmic Pro (Economy mode, up to 16Mbps)
and plays properly.
Is there an upcoming software update going to solve the problem or is it hardware related and therefore not fixable.
Please don't reply with a network related answer, by 2012 we know how to set up our networks and everything else runs flawlessly.
I'll apreciate a fast answer, we love Apple, but if it can't play an iphone movie (or a high quality movie from iTunes) it's just not up to my standards.

Cat 3750-Span (Port Mirroring issue)

I am facing port mirroring issue in my setup. Details of the setup are mentioned below
Setup--
Stack of 4 catalyst switches WS-C3750X-48P running software 15.0(1) SE3 .Approximately 12 vlans are configured in this setup and port mirroring is done for all vlans with destination configured as single Gig Ethernet port...The setup works fine from mirroring perspective for 3-4 days and after that machine connected to destination port stops getting data.
Observations-
It has been observed that during the issue, the port configured for mirror destination has lot of packet drop/input errors on the port statistics.
If we configure only TX packet mirroring, it works for 8 -10 days
If we configure TX & RX packet mirroring, it works for 2-3 days
Testing done
Tried clearing counter on destination port but no success (mirroring doesn’t start)
Tried shut /no shut for the destination port but no success.
Tried restarting the machine connected to destination port but no success
Workaround
We need to reconfigure the mirroring configuration after removing the mirroring config from the switch. Once the same is done, mirroring starts working.
Want to understand
1-is there any HW limitation for the switch (destination port not capable of handling mirroring traffic)
2-is there any software related issue?
3-what can be permanent resolution for the same..

We have tried this previously but found same result.
1- we deleted the monitror session and recreated again with same session number
2-we deleted the monitor session and created new session (session id diffrent ) with same config..
in both cases its working for 3-4 days..

Mirroring Issue - App not viewable

I am using a mini-DVI to VGA connector to a LCD screen. When I first set up the duel screens I had no issues. I was using iMovie on the LCD screen and I switched to the mirror screen setting. Since then I have been unable to edit anything in iMovie. The icon appears on the dock and I can use the file/edit etc menus but I cannot see the app itself unless I click + hold on the dock icon.
Once I have let go of the icon the app disappears and I cannot edit anything period. Please help, I have a presentation to do tomorrow morning on projector.

iMovie is one of the few Applications that insists on a single window for everything. A second display is of questionable value.
If using two displays, disconnect all the cables for the second display and check System Preferences > Displays to see if the second display is gone. \[ I am recommending this to reduce complexity. Often the stuff you wnat is there, but on the "Other" display. If the MenuBar never changes to iMovie headings, the program is not launching and you need to try the stuff below.]
If iMovie still does not launch, you may be having Disk Directory problems. Boot from the Installer Disc, but do not install. Answer the "What Language" question and wait for the MenuBar to be drawn, then Choose Disk Utility off the Utilities Menu, select your Hard Drive and Repair. Then Repair Permissions. If the Repair gives you any error messages, write them down and post them here for further suggestions.

I have a late 2011 model MacBook Pro and I am trying to connect Airplay mirroring. However, the option is not showing up in my system preferences. What is wrong?

Mirroring issue with retina 5k

i have bought Imac retina 5k and i've got latest apple tv. The problem is when i connect my mac to apple tv, its just showing black screen but when i airplay from itunes it plays ok. I tried disconnecting the bluetooth and i also updated apple tv and my mac, but still not working. Any other suggestions?

I just bought the Retina iMac, and Airplay mirroring just showing black screen, but from within iTunes worked ok, Just like original question. I searched around and found the answer for my problem. I had previously installed AirParrot on my old iMac Snow Leopard to provide same functionality. When I upgraded to new computer through migration assistant, it installed AirParrot on new machine. Turns out AirParrot was causing the problem. I googled "Uninstall Airparrot" and got a series of 6-8 sudo terminal commands from the Air Parrot support website in order to completely remove Air Parrot, and after I did that, and rebooted, I tried the Retina iMac Airplay, and voila, works just like it should. PERFECT. If you didn't have AirParrot installed, maybe you have some other program installed that installs its own video driver too. I saw mention on the discussion board of other programs with similar functionality that some people have installed that was causing same issue. Anyway... that's what fixed it for me, and I wanted to pass along that info. It was VERY frustrating, brand new machine less than a week old, already not working, but got it fixed now. Hope this helps SOMEONE out there!

AirPlay mirroring issue "No Device Detected" with MBP2011 and ATV2

I upgraded my MBP (early 2011) to Mountain Lion. I have an ATV2 (v4.2.1 software). I am trying to AirPlay mirror from the MBP to the ATV but am getting a greyed out "No Device Detected" drop down. Both MBP and ATV2 are on the same network.

The issue is the "Projectors" as well (VGA projectors even DVI), Now Apple is asking all Universities, Colleges and High Schools to spend millions of Dollars to replace all their Projectors so students and professors they can install Mountain lion in order to run their presentations...Apple Mail still with BBC Bug, and many other bugs are not fixed yet because their nightmare Steve Jobs who was push on them to fix these bugs is not alive, and yes they can do anything bad to destroy Apple.
Mountain Lion is CRAP same thing as LION, Apple is doing worse and worse until Samsung will create a good machines for Microsoft, then Steve Jobs will wake up from his grave asking the bad administration of Apple why they are destroying it with such CRAP!!

RDS 2012 R2 Connection broker in HA mode SQL mirroring issue

Hi,
I have an issue where our two brokers will not connect to the failover database when the database fails over.
Our setup:
Database - 2 x SQL 2012 Standard with the RDCB database mirrored in high safety with automatic failover mode.
Brokers/Web gateways - 2 x server duel role servers in different subnets. They're configured in HA mode
I won't include the session hosts as it's out of scope for this issue.
So the RD database connection string has been set to:
DatabaseConnectionString : DRIVER=SQL Server Native Client 11.0;SERVER=server2\instance2,5555;Failover_Partner=server1\instance1,5555;Trusted_Connection=Yes;APP=Remote Desktop Services Connection Broker;Database=RDCB
So when this was first set, the DB was failed over and it worked. It was then failed back to the correct principal but now when failed over to the Failover_Partner it will not connect.
I've confirmed the SQL permissions and custom port aren't an issue.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Did you receive any specific error\Event ID for your issue?
Apart it seems there is some misconfiguration issue for failover cluster. If connections are empty, that means broker servers are not connecting to the mirror server database, most common problem is database security in mirror server. So check all brokers have
full access to the mirror database and mirror database saved folder.

Ipad Air 2 HDMI Mirroring Issue

I have been using Lightning Digital AV Adapter (HDMI - Lightning adaptor) for a long time on my iphone 5 for mirroring images , videos, safari, games, etc. on my TV.
When i got my ipad air 2 i got it connected, mirroring works as it should , games, images, safari, youtube, etc but recently it stopped mirroring and i was only able to mirror videos when enlarged at full screen. Nothing else work. The TV shows only blanks while connected, rest of the time.
Did i accidentally switch any settings on the ipad itself? It still works on my iphone 5, not my ipad air 2.

I don't see any screen distortion when pressing the back, even press slightly harder. It is fine to me because i won't bend my ipad air 2. Some more i have a case to protect my ipad which can minimize the distortion issue by giving pressure from the back.
but the speaker issue is really annoying and only happens on ipad air 2 , i didn't see the issue been so obvious on other ipad (ipad 2 3 4 air mini...). Can we ask for compensation from Apple?
Apple should recall to replace the speaker or putting some material to absorb the vibration.

According to your description, you fail to configure database mirroring. To troubleshoot this issue, please check one of the following methods.
1. If the servers are in a domain environment.
    a. Find the fully qualified computer name (FQDN) of each server by running 'IPCONFIG /ALL' from the command prompt.
    b. Concatenate the “Host Name” and “Primary DNS Suffix”.
       Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : A
         Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . : corp.mycompany.com
         Then FQDN of your computer name is just A.corp.mycompany.com.
    c. Configure database mirroring again.
2. However, if the servers are not in a domain environment, follow the steps below to setup DNS suffix. Or you can choose to create a FQDN for each server by editing the host file.
    a. Open the server properties window (right click My Computer and then properties)
    b. Click Computer Name tab and then click the 'Change' button
    c. Click 'More' button
    d. Input the 'Primary DNS suffix of this computer'
    f. Click 'OK' & restart the server. For more details, please review this

Air play mirroring issue

Hello, so i resently upgraded to mountain lion and wanted to try out airplay mirroring on my apple tv (mid 2012 macbook pro, same with the apple tv) but when i click the airplay button my apple tv screen just goes black. at first i thought it might be a sizing issue but that wasn't it. now airplay works on itunes so i know it is some faulty think with either device. anyone else having this problem? or anyone have any advice?

alright i am hoping i just worded everything wrong and some one knows how to fix this, so here it goes.
my macbook pro and apple TV were both bought early July and both are running the most resent OS. they are also connected to the same wi-fi. but when i try to enable airplay mirroring on the menu bar my TV (which had the apple TV menu on it) goes black so i know they are connecting on some level, even my computers audio is being played through the TV's speakers but no picture just a black screen. i have also tried seeing if it my tv just couldn't handle airplay mirroring or something but i can airplay movies from itunes onto my apple TV just fine and everything works also my iphone can airplay to my TV if that is any useful info. IDK everything on both computers seems to be working just fine in every other way but this one (sadly this feature was the main reason i upgraded OS on my macbook)
so if anyone know of something i should try please help me out!!

Apple TV Mirroring issues

I have a late 2012 MacBook Pro and a 3rd generation Apple TV, yet the Airplay/Mirroring icon is not displayed in my toolbar. I attempted to enable the airplay/mirroring feature by accessing System Preferences and going to the "Displays" settngs, only to find that it does not even give me the option of turning the airplay on and off. The menu that should be there is not displayed. This would eb expected if my MacBook Pro did not support Mirroring, but since it is a late 2012 model, it is supposed to work... or so I thought.

It sounds like you are not able to access the AirPlay Mirroring icon on your MacBook Pro. According to the article below a MacBook Pro (late 2012) does meet the minimum system requirements for AirPlay Mirroring, but you will also need to be running Mac OS X Mountain Lion (10.8) on your system. HT204291 Airplay mirroring issue

I connect my Ipad 2 to apple tv. Every thing works with my television until I press play. I get this error message “Watching videos with airplay or through HDMI isn’t currently available with this app” When I press stop, my Ipad sync to my tv

Airplay on iPad 1 is only available for some Apps like YouTube.
Mirroring is only available for iPad 2 and 3.
