Missing Data Target in Infopackage for Update ODS Data in Data Target Cube

Hello & Best Wishes for the New Year to all of you,
I have 3 ODS (1 on Full Update and 2 with Delta Updates). All these 3 ODS update data to a single CUBE. In my development system this works correctly. Data load from PSA to ODS to Cube.
Now I transported this to my QA and Production System. In QA and Production System, I am able to load data upto all the 3 ODS and ACTIVATE Data in all these 3 ODS.
When I am trying for "Update ODS Data in Data Target" to load data from ODS to Cube in QA /PD, the system created Infopackage (ODS to CUBE), doesnot get the Data Target details. (Initial Upload / Full Upload). The Data Target Tab is Blank (expected Cube details).
I have tried to transport again after deleting the update rules.
Can you suggest what could be the problem ?

I have the ODS to CUBE Update Rules ACTIVE in the QA and PD system. Still the problem exists only in QA and PD. In DV the ODS to CUBE Data Target is available in the Infopackage and loading the data correctly to Cube.
Listing all the trials I have done :
1) Originally transported with all the Collected Objects. Inspite of having Active Update Rules, Data Target Cube was missing in QA and PD.
2) After this problem, I again transported only the Update Rules through the Transport Connection, still the problem didnot get solved in QA and PD.
3) Again, I sent a transport to delete the Update Rules which deleted the ODS to CUBE update rules in (DV), QA, PD. After that I sent another request to CREATE the ODS To CUBE UPDATE Rules in (DV), QA and PD. Still the Data Target is missing, inspite of having Active Update Rules in QA and PD.
In DV the ODS to CUBE Data Target is available and loading the data correctly to Cube, even now.
4) I have also tried "Generate Export Data Source" for the 3 ODS in QA and PD. Still it doesnot help.
Can you please suggest ?

Hi,
Are you using BW 3.5 or BI 7.0.
If you are in BW ,then please in the infopackage make the setting psa and data target in parallel.
If you are in BI 7.0,then include the step DTP.

BADI for Updating work order component data

Hi,
I need to update the field special stock indicator for the work order component data when it is saved. I am using the BADI WORKORDER_UPDATE for the same, but when I implemented the ZWORKORDER_UPDATE_IM using the standard defenition WORKORDER_UPDATE , the code does not allow me to change the it_component internal table belonging to the BEFORE_UPDATE method. Could you please help me in this.
Basically if we are implementing a standard defenition how to change the parameters of the methods in it.

It is giving the below dump. The parameter is importing parameter and it does not allow to change even using field symbol. Is there any other way. Is there an user exit which will be called when pressing enter button in component screen. The exit EXIT_SAPLCOBT_001 did not work for this.

 it is protected against changes.
The following objects are protected:
 - Character or numeric literals
 - Constants (CONSTANTS)
 - Parameters of the category IMPORTING REFERENCE for functions
 and methods
 - Untyped field symbols to which a field has not yet been assigned
 using ASSIGN
 - TABLES parameters if the corresponding actual parameter is protected
 against changes
 - USING reference parameters and CHANGING parameters for FORMs if
 the actual parameter for this is protected against changes

Infopackage for updating hierarchy doesn't work in process chain

All:
I have infopackages for Cost Center and they are part of a process chain. While cost center master data get populated after the process chain runs, cost center hierarchy does not get populated. Infopackage for cost center hierarchy is also part of the process chain.
However, when I manually run the same infopackage (for CC hierarchy) cost center hierarchy in BW (BW 3.5) gets populated.
Could anybody suggest what is wrong here?

Hi,
Did you include "Attribute Change" process in your process chain which will activate the saved hierarchy? Otherwise the new loading hierarchy will be kept as "M" version instead of "A" version.

OIM 10g: Best practice for updating OIM user status from target recon?

We have a requirement, where we need to trigger one or more updates to the OIM user record (including status) based on values pulled in from a target resource recon from an LDAP. For example, if an LDAP attribute "disable-flag=123456" then we want to disable the OIM user. Other LDAP attributes may trigger other OIM user attribute changes.
I think I need to write a custom adapter to handle "recon insert received" and "recon update received" events from the target recon, but wanted to check with the community to see if this was the right approach. Would post-insert/post-update event handlers be a better choice?

Thanks Nishith. That's along the lines of what I was thinking. The only issue in my case is that I might need to update additional custom attributes on the OIM User in addition to enable/disable. Because of that requirement, my thought was to call the API directly from my task adapter to do the attribute updates in addition to the enable/disable. Does this seem like a sound approach?

Sharepoint 2007 - Creating a form to capture timesheets data, but need to track updates to previously submitted data

We are using a basic version of Sharepoint 2007 and do not have access to InfoPath. I have created a list to allow team members to submit their weekly time on specific activities. How do I go about tracking any changes to previously submitted data?
For instance, a team member enters 5 hours for Activity 1 and submits on April 1. on April 10 they realize they submitted too few hours and want to go in to edit the 5 hours to 12 hours.
From a reporting perspective we already pulled a report (export to excel) and have the 5 hours listed for April 1. If the user goes in to edit their time sheet from April 1, we don't want the data to just override the 5 hours, we want some sort of flag to
show the hours went from 5 to 12 hours. How do we do this?
As a work around, I added a question at the beginning of the survey/list asking is this a new submission or an edit. I thought if they select edit and were taken to a screen that allowed them to select the date (April 1), the activity and the new hours that
I would have all of the previous data plus these 3 columns with the additional data: "Edit", "Activity 1", "12". Instead the original data was over written and all I show are blanks for the previous questions and the edited
info ("Edit", "Activity 1", "12").
What suggestions do you have so that I can maintain the integrity of the original data and flag for my Project Manager which data needs to be changed in previous reports.

I think the best way to answer your question would be to create a simple form and try various submissions. Be aware that unless the e-mail system is controlled, e-mail submission is not recommended due to client configuration issues of e-mail. Your question sounds like online submission would already be something you are comfortable with. In that case you can submit form data in 3 different ways: HTML, FDF, or XML. It can also be submitted as a PDF by saving the form, but that does not sound like what you need and also gets into issues of whether folks are using Reader or Acrobat.
Also be careful (or try both) about using forms from within Acrobat and the forms created by the link in Acrobat to Designer. Once you go to Designer with the form you can not come back for editing in Acrobat. Normally you would create the basic form in a word processor or layout tool and then add the form fields in Acrobat (or Designer if that is preferred).
I will let others address the anonymous and yet confirmation check issue.

Open SQL statment for Update flag based on Date

I am trying to write an Open SQL statement to update a flag in a table. Table Ztable1 with fields Sr.No, Flag, Datefrom, DateTo. i would like to update Flag entry in the table only if today falls in between Datefrom & Dateto. I can satisfy the above requirement using the following ABAP code.
DATA: lv_timestamp TYPE timestamp,
lv_today LIKE adr2-valid_from,
tz TYPE timezone.
CONVERT DATE sy-datlo TIME sy-timlo INTO TIME STAMP lv_timestamp
TIME ZONE tz.
lv_today = lv_timestamp.
update ztable1 set flag = 'X' where lv_today BETWEEN datefrom and dateto.
But the issue is that, DateFrom & DateTo contains space aswell Dates. Datefrom can be space if it is start of Time (01010001) and also DateTo can be space if it is End of time (31129999). Which means that if DateFrom is space, then it should treated as 01010001, simlarly DateTo is space, then it should be 31129999. How can i write the if else cases within where clauses.
I know Decode statement in Native sql programming, but that won't fit for Opensql in ABAP. Also, because of huge entries in database, i cannot read entries, manupulate & then update.
How can i enhance the same above Update statement to cater this need.

USEREXIT_ADD_FIELD_TO_LINE for updating sales order loading dates

I have a requirement to update the loading date in the sales order scheduling lines. I am trying to do it in USEREXIT_ADD_FIELD_TO_LINE in program SAPFV45V but there is also a comment in the userexit stating field needs to be added to structure AV03VZ. Is this required? The code seems do fine without using the structure. Also, should I be modifying the include FV45VFZZ_USEREXIT_ADD_FIELD_TO itself or should I do it through CMOD. If so, what would be the enhancement?
We are in 4.7, it looks like from rel.>4.6, we should be using include FV50XATP_USEREXITS instead, but during debug, the codes in this userexit never get called. Are these two exits doing the same thing?
Does anybody know which one should a 4.7 systems be using to modify the loading date?

Found out that we do need to modify the include its own. And the FV50XATP_USEREXITS is being executed when the delivery due list is executed, not when the order is created so in order to influence the loading date in the order, userexit in SAPFV45V needs to be modified.

HT4623 My Ipod touch is saying it is up to date when i check for updates, Its currently at 5.1.1 and wont update. It's preventing use of certain apps. How can i get it to update to ios 6+ ?

If you're getting the message using the device's Software Update function, it's a third generation iPod touch and can't be updated past 5.1.1.
If you're using iTunes on a computer, it's either as above or the version of iTunes being too old.

I believe you are working in BW 3.5, then in the Infopackage select the tab :"Data targets" and select the radial buttom "update in all data targets for which update rules exist". Surely, if there are no update rules you will not be able to load data.

Data Services ORA-00942 table does not exist. Source/Target same DB

Error: u201CORA-00942: table or view does not existu201D
Source & Target Datastores in same Oracle DB but different User/Schemas.
I set up the Data Services Tutorial Source & Target Data bases in ONE Oracle DB using a separate User/Schema for the ODS source DB & TARGET Source DB.
I then created
- Source datastore for the ODS DB User/schema
- Target datastore for the TARGET DB user/Schema.
I have no problem reading flat files & writing to TARGET datastore tables.
However, when I read the ODS datasttore source table CUSTOMER & write to the TARGET datastore target table CUST_DIM I get an error: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist.
I can query the table contents from the Data Flow & see the data in the source data & see the empty target table.
So the tables exists & there is no security issues from the DS Designer.
I did find note 1189910 - ERROR: Error Description: An error occurred while creating the result data - Data Insight XI
Cause
Multiple engines are being run against the same metadata repository.
Resolution
Verify that only one engine is being run against a single metadata repository.
Has anyone seen this error?
Or has anyone created a 2 data stores on the SAME DB, but to different User/Schemas?

since you are accessing 2 schema which are on same oracle database, DS engine is trying to optimize and generating an INSERT INTO ... SELECT clause. Since its the same DB, DS Engine is doing a implicit linking of the datastores
you can see the SQL generated from the Designer, drill down into DF, from the Menu select Validation ->Display Optimised SQL
to disable this implicit linking, right click on the Dataflow, select properties
in the properties window, unselect the the option "use database links"

How to create infopackage for Cube to Cune to transaction

HI Experts
I have performed following steps for cube to cube load.
1. Created source cube and loaded the data from R3
2. Created Destination cube
3. Generated Export Data source for the source cube. Here I'm able to see my datasource Icon(8ZFIGL_C01). When I double click on that it is give details.
4. Defined the update rules for Destiination cube by assiging the infosource (8ZFIGL_C01) which is created in step3.
5.Now I'm searching for the infosurce (8ZFIGL_C01) in data modelling -> infosource. its not showing up any name with 8ZFIGL_C01.
Kindly let me know how to create infopackage for this to laod the data from cube to cube.
Additional information:
I have set the optopn Display Generated Object in Settings.

Right Click on "Infosource" (TA RSA12 Top at the Right side Panel) and choose Insert lost nodes and refresh the screen and now search for your infosource and you will find it.

Problem with Updating of Routing Master data

    My requirement is I have to download Routing Master data into excel sheet. Once downloading is over, user can change some fields data in excel sheet. Again ull upload the changed excel sheet data to SAP. Finally these changes will effect to the Routing Master data.
I am downloaded routing master data using FM CARO_ROUTING_READ.
I changed some fields in excel sheet. I tried so many FMs for updating the routing master data, but system not allow to me to change the Master data.
I tried with CP_BD_DIRECT_INPUT_PLAN,
             CP_BD_DIRECT_INPUT_PLAN_EXT,
             CP_BT_PLPO_UPDATE, for updating Routing Master.
And Standard program RCPTRA02 also.
Please send me one function module which can update the Routing Master data. But that FM have the same structure of CARO_ROUTING_READ. Otherwise type conflicts will come.
System throws error YOU CANNOT EDIT TASK LIST OBJECTS WITH ACTIVITY TYPE&.

- Note 106965: Direct input routings: reading datasets
Maybe this can help you to upload your routings in another way. Unfortunately I haven't figured out yet how the program exactly works. So if somebody can give me some info about that one, it would be great.

ODP OracleCommandBuilder. Updating a table including DATE columns.

Getting the data from the database is not a problem.
The dataset contains the correct information.
But updating the database is impossible.
I get errors like:
ORA-01861: literal does not match format string
And if I don't specify a DATE format in the TO_CHAR statement I get this error:
Concurrency violation: the UpdateCommand affected 0 records.
I think I've tried everything.
I've used the OracleGlobalization class, with the SetSessionInfo method.
I've tried all different types of date conversions to make sure that
the date format on the database is the same as in the dataset.
I've tried to change the NLS parameters on the DB server and in the registry on the client.
I've tried to change the DATECOLUMN type in the typed dataset from string to Oracle.DataAccess.Types.OracleDate
But it still doesn't work.
The default date format on the DB 9i server is AMERICAN,(DD-MON-RR).
A strange thing is that when I instead of using the ODP classes use
the System.Data.OracleClient and its OracleCommandBuilder
the code works perfectly without any errors.

My experience until this came up is that the ODP provider is better on everything
than the microsoft Oracle provider so I don't want to switch unless I have to.
Could someone that have used the ODP OracleCommandBuilder for updating a table including DATE columns with a typed dataset please give me some tips on how to make this work?
I would be the happiest man on earth if someone had a solution :-)

Don't convert the dates to strings. Ever.
The command builder uses the metadata returned from the select command to build the insert/update commands. Using to_char in the query tells ODP that that is a varchar2 column. If you omit the to_char the commandBuilder will know to bind a date parameter in that spot.
Also in your typed dataset you should change the type from a string to a date.
