Missing Presets in AME CC

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help.
The H.264 and Mpeg presets have suddenly stopped working. They are still visible in the drop down menu but when I try to apply them I get this error message
[..\..\src\Command_Duplicate.cpp-202]. The last three digits change depending on what preset is applied.
I've re-installed and updated AME. Those presets are still available and working when exporting directly from Premiere Pro.
Thanks in anticipation.

Yes, AME was working properly before. It seems to have happened after I installed the very latest update to AMECC14, however. I'm not sure if that's what did it in though.
This is what I'm seeing – "Presets" isn't even a folder, it is an alias file. Could that be my problem? Will AME re-create those files if I just erase all of the "8.0" folder's contents and re-launch AME? I'm confused, because I assumed uninstalling AMECC14 and doing a fresh re-install would do the trick, but maybe not.
Here are my Adobe folder permissions, Adobe Media Encoder folder's permissions, and the 8.0 folder's permissions. I am seeing Read & Write permissions for my username, but for "everyone" it says "Read Only" – could that be an issue as well?
Thanks so much for your help MMeguro!

  • AME 7.2.2 missing presets

Several of our PCs (Win7) are missing presets(broadcast-XDCAM HD, XDCAMEX, XDCAM, SD, MPEG2). We are running AME ver. 7.2.2. Our Macs (10.9.5)are ok and all the needed presets are there.
I found the required presets on Adobe site but I am unable to import them. "Preset could not be found. No exporter found for this preset".

Do you also have Premiere installed?  If so, try this:
Launch Premiere and choose Help > Sign Out
Quit and relaunch Premiere.  Sign back in with your Creative Cloud ID when prompted.
Quit Premiere and launch Media Encoder.
Check if MPEG2 exporter and presets are available.

  • Quicktime Export options are missing (only in AME)

    Hey,
I already searched around for a while and also found another thread in this board, as well some info in the official documentation, saying that AME only installs certain export options, if it's not installed within the proper package of applications (like premiere or after effects).
Well, I did install it as part of the Master Collection, and also have both Premiere and AFX up and running.
The Initial install was a horrible procedure, since there was still some photoshop cs6 beta file lurking around and just wouldnt leave, even with the CS cleaner tool.
When I finally managed to install CS6, everything worked fine, except one major flaw.. When I export a file from premiere as a quicktime, everyhting works as it should. But when I hit "send to AME", the quicktime preset just doesnt make it's way over to the media encoder, but I have only h264 and 4 other formats to choose from. Just no QT available. (I'm on a mac).
I already tried installing the entire package over the original installation, but it didnt help. I also have CS6 installed on my macbook, where everything works perfectly fine. I compared the media encoder folder on both machines and it's identical in size. In the library I wasn't able to find any media encoder related files.
Please, does anyone have any Idea how to get QT export in ame up and running again without going through a complete cleansing of my system and reinstall the whole package? I'm in the middle of a project now and would really like to have it working.
(it worked before in cs5, btw)
    THX

Just like chfilm I have the same problem with AME CS6 on Mavericks.
I came here after having resolved another problem, namely because Premiere Pro (PP)
and AME were not even launching as soon as the Quick Time Bundle Host were being loaded on the splash screen – same thing happened with PP (see screenshot).
A Forum discussion for that is here: https://forums.adobe.com/message/5521256
I followed the correct answer suggestion and deleted two files in AME as well as in PP.
They were called "ExporterQuicktimeHost.bundle and ImporterQuicktimeHost.bundle".
    Except, that I didn't have a file called "ImporterQuicktimeHost.bundle" but a plain "ImporterQuickTime.bundle".
Since the Quicktime Presets in AME are now missing, I think that this problem is related to the problem of this thread.
Here is what I tried to resolve the case of the missing presets:
    - I tried out the solutions under post #8 (the correct answer)
    - and #25 by leejk of this thread.
    Neither worked for me.
    - I also tried uninstalling the whole adobe suite and used the Adobe Cloud Cleaner Tool and then reinstalled the Adobe Suite.
    Nothing changed.
    - With the newly installed Adobe Suite, I followed post #4 of this thread Uninstalling AME CC
to make sure, my files weren't corrupted. (If you look into the thread: instead of a version 7.0 I had a version 6.0.)
Btw: Before uninstalling the whole suite, every application, including PP worked – except of AME.

  • Missing presets for Adobe Media Encoder 6.0

Im missing my DVD preset's in Adobe Media Encoder 6.0.   I recently  downloaded the Production Suite from the cloud.   How do I get them?
If I open Media Encoder the preset is there but if I send it to Queue it changes the encoding to AAC audio only.  If I use the Export setting in the media encoder it works fine.

  • Question: PE4 -- missing presets, project settings frame size disabled

Hi -- I'm running PE4 and with YouTube's new widescreen abilities, I want to make some widescreen (16:9) videos, rather than the ol' 4:3 ratio.
However, in the intitial set up when I'm creating a new video, when I attempt to change settings, I discover that all the presets are missing. Using windows explorer, I discover that they are all no longer available. Where did they go?
And by the same token, I can't seem to edit my settings, either. From the edit menu, then preset settings, then general... The frame sizes are disabled and no amount of fiddling with the other settings will enable them.
    Am I missing something obvious?
I also feel that the simplest way of fixing the problem would be for someone running PE4 to create a wide screen video in 16:9 and e-mail me the working files. I should be able to clone that over and over for videos. Just an idea.
    Please help!

You can only change your PROJECT presets when you start a project. You can't change them mid-project.
As for output presets under the Share tab, if you're not finding those, then something is wrong with your installation and you probably need to either uninstall and reinstall (you won't lose any work if you do) or at least do a repair install -- do an installation without removing the program from your system.

  • Fresh install of PPro CS5.5 on Mac - missing presets and AVCHD support

Oh, this is crazy.  How on earth is this not bug-fixed?
I'm in the middle of setting up a new editing suite for my Secondary school where I am a Media Studies teacher.  I've got a handful of Macs running fresh installs which I've installed new legal, site licensed Premiere Pro CS5.5 installs on.  By default, as in many workplaces, the Macs require admin passwords for internet and install settings, which I applied.  None of the machines have had trial versions od PPro CS5.5 or previous versions of PPro.
    The issues:
None of the fresh installs contain the presets for  AVC-Intra, AVCHD, Digital SLR, XDCAM EX, XDCAM HD422, and XDCAM HD.  Which is kind of a disaster, as we have brand new Panasonic HDC-SD900 AVCHD cameras waiting to load up footage for editing.
Further to this, none of the macs will load or recognise the AVCHD footage when I try to add it.  I get "unsupported compression type" errors.
Am I missing something basic here, or am I about to enter the "delete everything adobe, reboot, reinstall, reboot" loop from hell to try and fix an entire roomful of machines?   Is there ANY way to check if the presets are on the Macs?  Is there any way to link them back into PPro if they are?  And finally, is there any way to get CS5.5 to recognise AVCHD as a recognised format (which is why I bought the site license in the first place!  Premiere Pro is meant to have the easiest AVCHD compatibility of all the editing suites!).
    Grr.  Dammit.
    Ideas?

Okay, this turned out weird.  Fixed now, but WEIRD.  After the deafening silence on this forum, I went and did some reading on other threads and with other people having similar (but it seems not the same) issue.  It seems that there could have been three different causes: here's what I did to fix things, I'd be fascinated if anyone with closer links to Adobe comes up with the technical explanation of why this turned out the way that it did.
    Possible issues:
    (1) Install may need to be done as Admin, rather than standard user on a Mac
    (2) firewall/proxy server maybe isn't allowing some anonymous callback from premiere to adobe to register presets/codecs
    (3) something else weird involving registration... some people have had issues with time zones, of all things.  see below.
    What I did:
    (0) Took everything off the school network and put on my home wireless network: no firewall, direct connection to internet.
    (1) Tried Ann Bens's suggestion above.  Was unable to deactivate software while logged in as Admin on my mac.  Came up with error code 255:255 in the notification box, even though I never had a trial version installed on this box.  This was the same error I got at school, so I'm tentatively ruling out proxy/firewall issues.
    (2) Read the forums some more.  I'm in New Zealand, it's currently daylight savings time (GMT +13) here.  In http://forums.adobe.com/message/4007876, someone in NZ had a different but similar problem with registering/deregistering Premiere Pro software during NZ daylight savings time, and found that changing to ANY other time zone fixed their issue.
    (3) Thought "what the hell", changed the time zone to Samoa (couldn't bring myself to do Australia...) and rebooted as admin.
    (4) Successfully deactivated software, no error messages.  Interesting.
    (5) Uninstalled premiere pro.  Rebooted as admin.
    (6) Ran adobe cleaner tool.  Found some scraps, killed them off.  Rebooted as admin to be on the safe side (still on Samoa time)
    (7) Installed Premiere, no issues at all.  Registered, no issues at all.  All preset settings present and correct, no issues getting AVCHD files.
    (8) Changed time zone to NZ day light savings time.
    (9) Everything still works.
Hm.  Adobe, SOMETHING is wrong with the way your software is handling timezones and registration of codecs/software on Premiere Pro CS5.5.  Seriously, does anyone have a clue why this might be happening?
So, solved.  Shall I give myself a tick for "correct answer" and "helpful answer", given I solved my own thing with no help from tech support?

  • Missing presets

    Hi all,
I am using GarageBand 09 and all was great until all of a sudden all of the factory compression/eq/reverb presets went missing. I logged into a different user and loaded GB and all the presets were there, but not in my main accout. Anyone know how to fix this problem?
    Thanks,
    4d

Try reinstalling; check to see if your other plugins don't work and then if they do afterward. For Compressor there's a few categories under the User Presets.
It's encouragement to experiment this way too; personally the best presets I have are my own.

  • Missing Presets in Prelude CS6

We are trying to use Prelude to ingest some video and transcode to either MPEG2 or MXF OP1a.  Those presets are showing up in Media Encoder as system presets, but they are not showing up at all in Prelude.  Shouldn't Prelude be using the presets from Media Encoder?  Is there a way to sync up Prelude so that it sees all of the available presets that are in Media Encoder?

    Hi -
I tried this on my Mac, in Prelude CS6 (1.0.2) I could see the two presets which contained in AME CS6 (6.0.2). But I would like to collect more information from you.
Could you see the two formats (MPEG2 and MXF OP1a) in Premiere Pro CS6?  If you could see the two formats in Premiere Pro, you could have a try with re-install Prelude CS6. When you re-install Prelude, please follow the steps below:
    Uninstall Prelude;
Run the cleanup script found here: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
Reinstall Prelude and launch it to see whether you could see the two formats or not.
You also could reach me by juli at adobe dot com.
    Thanks,
    Jenny

  • Cannot create new presets in AME CC 2014

Whenever I go into AME CC 2014 and try and create a new preset, this is what I see: Strange Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014 Bug - YouTube.
Also, whenever I quit AME, even when it's running idle, just sitting there not doing anything, I always get the unexpectedly quit error message: Screenshot on 2014-07-30 at 02:24:31.png • Droplr Every single time I quit AME I get that, no matter what – super strange.
I transcode my DSLR and AVCHD media via AME (well, I used to, that is) and now I'm kind of stuck. Without creating a preset first in AME, you can't choose ProRes or any other custom codec from Prelude's transcode codec drop-down menu as it pulls directly from AME.
Anyway, that's beside the point. Anyone know how to fix the issue I'm seeing demonstrated in the video screen grab above? I've tried clearing prefs, and fresh re-installing AME CC 2014 – all to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated – thanks!

Yes, AME was working properly before. It seems to have happened after I installed the very latest update to AMECC14, however. I'm not sure if that's what did it in though.

  • Premiere Pro CC is missing presets | CC Packager/Volume Licensing

We have volume license and are trying to install the CC Suite using CC Packager V1.1.
Everything seems to work fine however most of the presets are missing from Premiere Pro CC - no RED, XDCAM or AVCHD etc.
This is a problem i've seen before with trial versions etc - it's like premiere is being installed in trial mode, although all the applications appear to be fully activated.  Audition etc all work and we don't get asked to login/register or notified that the programs are running as a trial.
I've got a case open with Adobe (184479912) however I keep getting passed between the Premiere team and licensing team - they keep blaming each other and not helping me.
Has anyone got any ideas how to fix this?
Has anyone sucesfully installed the CC Suite using CC Packager and had all the Premiere presets show up?
Any ideas how i can get through to someone more helpful in the support team?
    Many thanks in advance
    Daniel

Romsinha, this does not resolve the problem. Have you found an actual solution yet?
I work for a college. We installed CCE with video serial key as you stated above. We are still missing all of the presets and codecs that we use for class. I see this has been a problem since July, why isn't it fixed yet???? This is a major problem for any large institution. Has any other schools or institutions found a solution with this issue?

  • Missing 'Presets' drop-down menu

The 'Presets' drop-down menu is missing from my Adjustments HUD. I'm processing some RAWs from a photoshoot and need to create a Black & White preset but I can't. I can't access any Presets, nor can I make new ones because the Preset's drop down menu doesn't exist, and I can't find a regular way of navigating to this function via the main menu. Everything else appears to be working fine. Any Ideas?
I'm using Aperture 3.4.3 (app store version), OSX Lion 10.7.5, and running my Mac Pro in 64bit (8-core, early 2009).
FYI I've never used Presets before, so have no idea if this is a new problem or if it's always been there.
Hope someone can help - cheers...

Ok this is under Add Adjustment
    And this is under Effects
And this is the edit window.

  • EXS 24 - Missing presets

    Hi everybody!
I have Logic pro 9. Two years ago I recorded lot of sounds with the presets sounds of EXS24 sampler, for example Sitar and Indian Kit instruments. Now I see that these samplers are not here anymore! (I'm sure that i didn't delete them) How is possible? In some actualization the samplers was erased?
tThank you so much for your attention
    Laten,
      Pablo

You can just install the files you need.
There's a free app called Pacifist:
    http://www.charlessoft.com
It's VERY useful - you can look inside installer packages and see what's inside, then extract only what you choose.
With the Logic 9 install DVD's, it's a bit tricky. If I remember correctly, you must use Pacifist on DVD no 1 as it points to all the packages on the other DVD's.
Maybe you could use Pacifist to extract all the samples and instruments to a new location (eg your Desktop or somewhere else). Then compare what's in the new folders with what you have in your current installation folders. Copy across all the stuff that's missing.
I did that a long time ago as I also had some missing instruments. It did take some time (and patience) but I checked that I had every instrument I possibly could.
I don't know why this happens. Seems some update caused instruments to be removed in error.

  • Startup blocks because of a missing preset

As I start up Photoshop CS5 the process stops as the program is scanning for presets. A message comes up  saying:
    Connection failed
The server "Daniel Cilia's MacBook Pro 17" may not exist or it is unavailable at this time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again.
Clicking on OK continues the startup normally and the program works as usual. Now I know that the MacBook Pro is not available yet what do I have to do to remove the link at startup with these remote presets which I do not use anymore anyway?
Restting Preferences to their default state has not helped the situation.
    Thanks

Chris I have always given the fault to myself, yet I would like to correct my mistake.
In fact today I got the Mac BookPro back and have for the last couple of hours going through checking what could be the preset that is creating the problem for me. Ok I have been putting on the Mac BookPro and start Photoshop. PS starts immediately finds the Mac BookPro, connects to it via WiFi and all is well. Then I opened the Brush Presets, took a screen shot of them, closed PS, closed the Mac BookPro and restarted PS. Obviously the problem reoccured, I clicked on continue and PS opened up. Then I checked if their were any Brush Presets missing, and their were none. I kept doing this with the Actions - none, Filters - none, Tool Presets - none, Colour Swatches - none.
I do not know were to look anymore, any suggestions? It would be really a great help if I could solve this (even for others) since it takes ages for PS to start up, and because of the memory leakages (sometimes I work on some really big files and after an hour of work PS becomes sluggish, a restart gets it going fast again [my set up is 2x 2.93 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon with 16 GB of RAM]. Yet now I have to wait ages until the continue button comes on, or have the Mac BookPro always on and next to me.
    Thanks

  • New presets for AME CS6 now available

Several new presets for Adobe Media Encoder CS6 have been posted, including a set of ProRes presets (Mac only, requires the ProRes codec to be installed), MXF OP1a presets as well as presets for tablet devices. After you install these presets (installation instructions on the download page) these presets will be available inside Prelude.
You will find the links to the presets in the Add-ons section towards the bottom of the page.

    @tlc51369:
Thanks for the heads up. I know you've been on the lookout for this for awhile now.
Does anyone know: is this exactly the same as the v 4.0.1.078 that has already been distributed?

  • Adobe CS6/CC Missing Presets for Sequences despite Reinstalling

I just reinstalled Adobe CS6 and Adobe CC and I still do not have my sequence presets for DSLR or any of the cameras we use. This is extremely frustrating. Reinstalling does not solve the problem. I am in dire need of help here.

    Hi Ms. Manatee,
    Try the following:
Sign out from Creative Cloud, restart Premiere Pro, then sign in
