Missing priority rules for local adjustments

It would be nice -- in the absence of layers for Lightroom -- to have a feature that lets me sort the various local adjustments in a picture (i.e. the gray points) so that some have priority over others. Currently, I found no way to achieve that: If regions which I painted with the adjustment brush slightly overlap and either has different settings, the result is not really predictible. I for my part use Photoshop to make precise adjustments, but I'd prefer to stay in Lightroom. Is there something I missed or would that be an idea for future development?
Andreas

If you have to do various local adjustments, Photoshop is your program of choice.
Lr does not so well with local adjustments, not to speak of various local adjustments.
Try to avoid overlapping areas of different Adjustment Brushes.
You most probably know that you can erase areas of an Adj. Brush where you painted by mistake by holding down the Alt/Opt key.
And, no, you can't prioritize the various Adj. Brushes.

  • Missing Update Rules for 0IC_C03 in Business Content

We had a problem with 0IC_C03,  so we decided to reload from Business Content and then migrate to 7.0 format again.
However, when we try to gather all of the dependent objects for the InfoCube in Business Content, we only get one set of obsolete update rules (2LIS_40_S278), and the update rules for 2LIS_03_BX, 2LIS_03_BF, 2LIS_03_UM do not show up.  They do not appear under update rules, either.
I know they were there at one point because I activated and migrated the cube once already.
Can someone help us find our lost update rules?

    Hi Dan,
There are no update rules deliverd with BI 7.0 for 0IC_C03. There are only
transformations Delivered as part of the content. In the new release
Transformation replace the update rules and the transfer rules.

  • Technical Content BI Stat`s missing Transfer Rules for 0TCT_CA1

    Hi,
I installed the new 7.0 technical content and had several glitches. Some are fixed with the new SP16, that we installed.
We are at BI Cont 7.03, patch 8.
There is no business content for the Frontend & OLAP Statistics (highly aggregated) 0TCT_CA1 transfer rules - although the cube and communication structure are there - as well as the virtual and multi cube with a lot of queries etc.
Does anyone have a solution for this?
    Thanks!
    Kathleen

    Hi Kathleen Cooke ,
I am having similar issue now, can you please let me know if you know the solution for the below problem..
I am trying to activate the Business Content for BW Statistics, but the datasource and the  Transfer Rules are missing for the 0TCTPRCSVAR_TEXT and also a couple of BW Statistics objects...
    I am on
    BI_CONT 703, level 0005, Support Package SAPKIBIIP5

  • Best Plug-in/External Editor for Aperture Local Adjustments

I've been playing with trial versions of Nik's plug-in suite, Lightzone, and I have a version of CS3.
From the standpoint of making local adjustments ( hopefully something we will see in the next version of Aperture), which do you feel is the easiest to use without compromising results.
I sorta lean towards Nik's plug-in especially Viveza but would like to hear from those of you who have had some serious usage with any of these tools as with the trial period and being busy, there's only so much time I can spend on it. Nik suite is being bundled for discount and there's also a discount on Lightzone as an external editor.
    Thanks,
    Larry

CS3 is a great external editor- If you want something that is really easy and quick to use the Nik software is amazing. The three tools that I use a lot from Nik (I use them directly from Aperture and in Photoshop on smart objects) are Viveza, Silver EFEX Pro, and sharpener.

  • How can I diagnose or resolve missing AD groups for target audience rules

    Hello everyone,
I'm having some problems with the target audiences I have set up in my SharePoint 2010 farm. I have set up a single rule for each target audience in Central Administration, pointing to a group in Active Directory. Up until a couple of weeks ago I had no
problem using the people picker to look up AD grups and everything seemed to be working, but now I am suddenly not able to find any groups in AD.
The User Profile Synchronisation is running without any errors. I have already performed a full synchronisation and compiled all audiences with no luck. I have also checked the property called peoplepicker-searchadforests with stsadm and that appears to
be correct as well. If I try and look up the same AD group in a peoplepicker on one of the site collections it is immediately displayed with no errors. All of the AD groups I'm using are global security groups and the ULS log contains no errors from when the
target audience compilation started until it ended.
What puzzles me is that AD groups on our test environment can be found in the peoplepicker in Central Administration without any problems, despite the fact that the target audience rule fails with the message "Non-existent Membership group...".
It would seem to me that SharePoint does not look up the security groups directly in AD but rather somewhere else - a lot of posts suggests that SharePoint stores information about target audience it in the ProfileDB but I haven't been able to find which table.
I know I'm leaving out a lot of other details but what I really need to know is how I can investigate this issue further, e.g. does SharePoint in fact look up the groups in the ProfileDB and if so from what table? Is there any kind of tool or technique I
can use to actually see what happens in SharePoint from the moment I try and search for an AD group in the people picker?

    Hi SharePointMC,
    Thank you for the info - I didn't know about $wa.PeoplePickerSettings :-)
I have compared all the properties from PeoplePickerSettings between our prod- and test environment and the only difference I found was that the domain was added to "distributionlistsearchdomains" on prod but not on test. Adding the value in test did not
    reproduce the issue though.
I'm not sure if I can see somewhere which account was used to set up the people picker but the account I used to look up AD-groups is not locked out and there is no filter set for peoplepicker-searchadcustomfilter. If there is a way to see which account
was used to set up the people picker I would very much like to know.
However I did manage to find some clue in the profile database. It turns out that querying the MemberGroup table I was able to locate all target audiences on our test environment (not counting the "all site users"), but I was not able to find any of the
groups in prod. If the peoplepicker is indeed looking for the AD groups in ProfileDB then that might explain why I cannot find any groups.
The question is how I can persue this further - how does SharePoint update the Profile database and what would be a good place to look for any errors?

  • User defined rule for missing triples

    Hi,
i would like to know if there is a way to define a user defined rule for triples that are not contained in a model. With curly brace syntax it could be something like this:
    INSERT INTO mdsys.semr_validation_rb VALUES(
    'test_rule',
    '{?s ?p ?o. OPTIONAL{?s rdf:type ?t}}',
    't is null',
    '(?s <hasType> "false")',
    null);
Unfortunately this is not working. Has anybody a suggestion to solve this problem with user defined rules?

    Hi,
This is related to the following post.
built-in primitives(noValue, remove) for user defined rules
Note that there is something you need to pay a bit attention to.
    Say your original graph contains
    :John :fatherOf :Mary
but not any type classification for :John (i.e. no match for {:John rdf:type ?t})
Assume you add the following triple according to the rule you described
    (:John <hasType> "false")
Now, what happens if :John is classified as a :Person (or :Parent, :Father),
do you want to withdraw* :John <hasType> "false"?
    Thanks,
    Zhe

  • Couldn't delete Local Adjustments (Dodge, Burn) from Virtual Copy/Photoshop Edit

Setup: Lightroom 2.3 on Mac with latest OSX
    1. I applied some settings to an image in LR, along with some local adjustments using the LR Adjustment tools.
    2. I made a virtual copy of that image to apply some further adjustments, and I wanted to remove the local adjustments from this copy, so I deleted the adjustment points from this virtual copy. I also clicked "reset" on the Local Adjustments panel.
    3. I do a Command+E to open up the virtual copy image in Photoshop for further edits. Problem: in photoshop the effects of the local adjustment tool are still displaying. There are dodge and burn marks in the image per the local adjustments I made in the master image, but removed from the virtual copy.
    4. I rechecked the virtual copy and could see no sign of the local adjustments still in the file.
To resolve this, I had to return to the master copy, delete the local adjustments in the master copy, and create a new virtual copy.
Is this normal... I should be able to remove a local adjustment in my virtual copy and let the master copy keep its adjustments, no?

No. You cannot be taken seriously.
    1. Photoshop is not Illustrator / Fireworks / Premiere / After effects / Dreamweaver / InDesign. Thank god Adobe. It is already bloated enough.
    2. Much worse: your improvement list is sometimes faulty.

  • Local adjustments - jumping between sliders

    Hi.
In short - <tab> button does not work in the panels of Local Adjustment Brush and Graduated Filter.
In detail, I often adjusting images using keyboard, especially in the Basic panel.
Because it's better to use sliders from top to right, I'm using following procedure:
    1. Clicking to text field of the top most slider (usually Exposure)
    2. Adjusting value using Shift+Up/Down Arrows
    3. Fine tuning using Up/Down Arrows
    4. Pressing Tab to jump to next slider, or Shift+Tab for previous if needed
    And so on.
But unfortunatly Tab and Shift+Tab does not work in the panels of Local Adjustments tools.
I think this is not a bug but rather missing feature - it does not work in previous versions too.
    But it's really missing.

When doing heavy highlight or exposure recovery using local adjustments on RAW files I can see a demonstrable difference many times between using automask and not using it.
The "heavy highlight or exposure recovery" is a key...Auto Mask works well when the adjustment are subtle–which is what it was designed for. If you are expecting accurate masking when making radical changes, it simply will not work. For that you really need to go into Photoshop and use really accurate selection techniques to get accurate results.

  • [SOLVED] how to use diffrent iptables rules for different ppp account?

x86 plantform run arch linux system , have two network interface etn1 eth0 .eth1 connect to internet. eth0 connect to other terminals through switch. want use different iptables rules for different pppoe account .also want to know how to forbidden more than one terminals established pppoe link use same account at the same time .

(You establish PPPoE sessions over the local network to the Arch machine? Which then routes the traffic?)
first question ,yes that is exactly what i am done. second question i also have a small  scripts on windows pc to solve routes traffic problem
    route -p delete 0.0.0.0
    route -p add 192.168.9.0 mask 255.255.255.0 192.168.9.1
    route -p add 0.0.0.0 mask 0.0.0.0 192.168.22.0
but after a while i found scripts is not necessary because windows always attempt to use PPPoE sessions as default internet connection local connection is also ok
and use  -i pppX in my iptables rules dose not  solve my problem , because same account start PPPoE session could be marked as ppp0 or ppp1. it is hard to identified which account start session.

  • Use airport for internet and ethernet for local?

Hi. Ive searched around and cant find an answer for this.
I have a 27" imac connected to my router and all works fine for accessing the internet.
I have several other devices close by that I want to connect via ethernet. If i connect the imac to another router via ethernet I can browse my local devices but loose internet connectivity. It is as if the imac will suspend the airport connection while the ethernet cable is connected. I don't want my second router to act as a bridge as it doesn't support N speeds.
Essentially, I want the imac to use airport for internet and the ethernet port for local files.... The only workaround I have is to unplug the ethernet cable from the back of the imac when i want to use the internet. I'm hoping it's just a DNS issue, but cant seem to resolve it.
I do not need internet connectivity for the other devices and don't see how i can do that without enabling the wireless side of my second router and then creating a bridge...
    Any suggestions?

It is as if the imac will suspend the airport connection while the ethernet cable is connected.
The Connection Order on your iMac is set so that if both AirPort and Ethernet are "on", the iMac will give priority to the Ethernet connection.
If you want to configure your iMac so that it gives priority to an AirPort connection if both AirPort and Ethernet are "on", give this a try:
Open System Preferences (gear icon on the dock) and open Network
Click on the small gear icon at the bottom of the connection list on the left
Click on Set Service Order and drag AirPort to the top of the connection order list
    Click OK, then click Apply
Now, if both AirPort and Ethernet are active, your iMac will give priority to the AirPort connection. If you want to connect using Ethernet, you will have to turn AirPort off by clicking the fan shaped AirPort icon at the top of your computer screen.

  • Settlement rule for Asset Under Construction not automatically generated.

    Hi Experts,
I am working on a capital project scenario where in i configured the SAP IM and SAP PS module. i am able to create AUC at the WBS level on project release, but i am not able to generate the settlement rule for AUC automatically.
Please suggest as to what i am missing to generate settlement rule for AUC automatically.
    Thanks,
    shiv

i think for automatically AUC to be generated, u need to create investment profile in OITA in that u have to tick mange AUC in investment measure. & select settlement for summary settlement.
This investment profile u need to specify in Project Profile OPSA.
do this setting & let me know whts happen?
    ok best of luck.

  • Missing self ID for node ...

For no apparent reason, my G5 has been having kernel panics (i.e., the grey screen full of text in different languages, telling you to press the power key).
It has been doing it repeatedly, and I'm not sure I "fixed" it--I turned off a FW800 drive, just as a best-guess without much else to go on.
Repeated boots (after the kernel panic) and I get the following in the console log:

  • AT&T has rules for the iPhone 3G S launch - Lines allowed to form starting at 7am

AT&T has rules for iPhone 3G S launch - Lines allowed to form starting at 7am
Perhaps AT&T has learned some from the troubles with iPhone past launches and they are going to try to make the experience better by settings some rules this time around. While AT&T is calling these “rules” guidelines, we think it really is nothing more than an effort to make a success of what the company hopes is one of the biggest tech event launches of the year.
AT&T stores will receive inventory in time for the actual launch on June 19th. AT&T is already accepting pre-orders online as well as in stores. This change is key this time around because those that choose not to place a pre-order could be left out in the cold. From our understanding, pre-order customers will be given priority.
The way that it will work is when the AT&T store opens, customers in line will then be split into two lines, with those already having a pre-order placed in one line and those who don’t have a pre-order placed in the other line. Pre-order customers will be able to start receiving their new iPhone 3G S starting shortly after 7 A.M., while those without a pre-order will have to wait until the store’s official regular opening time. Upon the actual regular opening time of the store, the two lines will then be merged into one line again. Apple retail stores will also be an option as they will open at 8 A.M. on launch day, but only those that pre-order from the Apple retail store will actually be able to pick up their phones early.
As for the pricing, current AT&T customers that have had a contract with AT&T for at least 18 months will be able to get the new 16GB model for $199 or a 32GB model for $299. If you happen to be a current AT&T iPhone owner, but have not gone 18 months on your current contract, you will be able to pick up a new iPhone 3G S but will have to pay between $399 to $599, depending on how much time is left on your current contract and whether you want the 16GB or 32GB model. From what we understand, you will have to agree to another 2-year contract to get the iPhone 3G S this time around.
The only actual possible loophole in this deal is to cancel your current AT&T contract and pay the $175 early termination fee and then wait three months. After the three months have lapsed, you can return to AT&T and then get new customer pricing, which would save you $225, but you have to endure a three-month wait.
While the pricing and the options might make some AT&T customers unhappy, it is what it is. The bottom line is that the iPhone is still so hot, AT&T knows that people will pay what it takes to sport the new version if they are a big iPhone fan. According to our sources, AT&T should have enough inventory to more than cover the pre-orders, but beyond the pre-orders it is difficult to say if they will be able to meet the demand on launch day for additional units. Our advice is that if you want to have one on launch day, you had better get your pre-order in soon.

I believe if you are a current AT&T Customer and wish to ADD a new phone to your account you will be able to get the new 16GB model for $199 or a 32GB model for $299. I went through
    http://www.apple.com/iphone/buy/
and selected "Add a new line to my existing account" and was shown pricing as $199 for 16 GB and $299 for 32 GB.
Hard to see this as any benefit unless you need an additional line on an existing account, which I happen to (I bought a new "additional line" 3G just before the 3GS was announced, and will fit into the "return" window)

  • Lightroom has a hard time with local adjustments:

Local adjustments: Spotting / Cloning / Healing Brush, Adjustmenst Brush, Graduated filter
I posted  the piece below as a response to thaehn’s post “Lightroom freezes on Dust Spot Removal” but I thought the topic is important enough to warrant its own post.
This in advance: I'm running WIN XP SP4 with all available patches; have 4 GB of RAM; have a dual-core processor at 3 GB.
Apart from my drive C, I have two internal hard drives in Raid 0 configuration (thus they show up as one drive). I also have an external hard drive that's in Raid 1 ( "mirroring') and is connected by fire-wire 400.
Yes, LR "freezes" when using the dust spot tool and also when using the adjustment brush or - but to a lesser degree - when using the grad filter.
My observation though is that it's not a true "freezing", because if I wait long enough LR starts working again. So when using these tools, LR gets extremely busy und just doesn't have enough resources left to respond to further commands right away - but it "stores" the comands and acts on them eventually.
If I turn on my task manager I observe the following when using these tools: the CPU gets extremely busy (i.e. the green bar is at 100%)  while the RAM usage is high but not to the max. The "freezes" occur when and as long the CPU works at 100%. If the CPU is below 100% LR responds sluggish and the response is normal again when eventually the CPU usage is at 0%.
Also, in my observation, this behaviour of LR is compounding, i.e. the wait-times for my CPU to get back to 0 are increasing, the longer I work with these tools or the more photos I work on. Re-starting LR does not bring change: the behaviour establishes itself when using the tools again. It is as if LR needs to do some work in the background and that this background work piles up the longer I work in LR.
I am not a software or hardware specialist, so the following observations are somewhat subjective and not really quantifiable.
In Photoshop I observed a similar behaviour (although never as bad) when working on files of 500 MB and above. It was particularly bad when working on photos residing on my external RAID 1 hard drive. I had a hunch that it might have to do with the reading and writing from a drive that a)  is external and b)  is  in RAID 1. It is known that RAID 1 has slower writing (and also reading) speeds than RAID 0 (or no RAID at all). So in Photoshop I managed to cut down on the unresponsiveness by moving large files to my internal RAID 0 hard drive and working from there.
From this experience I come to the assumption that some of the "busy-ness" in LR (or of the CPU) is due to reading/writing to/from the hard drive.
To test this assumption for LR, I moved some photos from my external (RAID 1) to my internal (RAID 0) hard drive and did some "intensive" work: first some "fancy" lens correction, then a few grad filters, and a "final touch" with the adjustment brush. I thought that LR could handle these tasks somewhat better when the photos were on the internal drive - so some of the "sluggishness" or " freezing" is due to the reading/writing from/to the hard drive.
Acually I cannot explain why this should be so: In my naivete I thought LR writes everything only into the catalog (?), that - by the way - is on my internal RAID 0 drive.
I think it would be good if Adobe could look into this and maybe give us some recommendations, just as they do for Photoshop by saying that the scratch disk should be on a different drive than Photoshop.
But it seems also that local adjustments - spotting, adj. brush. etc - are a very high "number-crunching" business for LR - independent of where the photo is located on the drive. (Interestingly the grad filter is not as bad as the adjustment brush). The clone-tool in Photoshop hardly registers on my CPU and if at all only with a very short spike, while the clone tool in LR sends the CPU through the roof for 10 to 30 seconds- even when the photo in question is on the internal drive.
I'm sure loots of people will now tell me that this is due to the difference between pixel-based adjustment and non-pixel-based ones. OK, I acknowledge that. But still ...
It seems some guys are still in denial about this (or maybe they have two quad processors and 16 GB of RAM):
But it's a fact: LR has a hard time with localized adjustments. There must be by now 100's of complaints to that respect, and that can't be dismissed by blaming it on the hardware specs alone.
I just hope Adobe is working on that.
LR3 is a fantastic program that I would not want to work without. Often I have to work on a lot of photos with a very tight deadline. Without LR it would be impossible.
    Thank you,
    ErnstK

    You are right Samoreen.
I posted my above message in July 2010 and this topic has been re-opened by Adobe under the thread Lightroom 3.3 Performance Feedback
I think it would be best if everybody would post their concerns only under this thread.
Otherwise we'd have two different threads for the same issue.
So let's close this one here.
