Missing RSS icos with 10.5.5

After updating to 10.5.5 (I went from 10.4.11 directly to 10.5.5) the RSS feed icos are now a generic news page icon in the Safari menu bar pull-down menu. Once a feed is accessed, the icos shows on the chosen article, but it does not save in the pull-down list as it previously had. If I go into the show all bookmarks, the icos don't appear there for any of the RSS addresses.
For example, the Apple Press Releases RSS should have the white apple in a gray square. The icos icon is in the address line once the main article is accessed, but refuses to appear in the RSS pull down.
I experimented by pulling out the file user/library/safari/WebpageIcons.db and all icos changed to the generic blue Apple earth icon which told me I had found the correct file. Choosing an RSS file and going to the main file did not store the newly found icos. Of course all the rest (non-RSS) of the icons will reappear once a site was again accessed. I put the old file back in so the hundreds of bookmarks would still have their icos without me having to access every address.
In that RSS folder there is one address that is not an RSS feed and the icos shows so that seems to indicate that it is not just a problem of the folder holding the RSS addresses.
There is no Safari preference that I have found that causes some kind of action with the icos.
RSS feed files used to load pretty quickly before 10.5.5, but now they are sluggish loading and often will take 5-10 seconds to finish loading. I have broadband so the response SHOULD and previously was quick, but it isn't any more.

I do not remember what OS X 10.4 did as it has been quite awhile since I used it. However, what you describe is "normal" (at least here) under OS X 10.5.
I have no problem with RSS feeds loading fairly rapidly (DSL broadband). You might try resetting Safari to see if that helps.

Yes, I wish I could use a newer dev tool but that isn't an option right now. I think this should work. Can ya'll tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Missed event monitor with event reset

I have pretty simple request for Scom monitoring, but I don’t know how to do it. My application generates an event in custom log with name Mpis. Event level is Informational, Event ID is 10 and source is Mpis. This event is created every
5 minutes. If application failed, event isn’t created. I have a need to create an alert, if event isn’t created more than one hour and monitor must go into unhealthy state (red). If same event come back, monitor must resolve itself and go back to healthy (green).
I try doing this with missed event monitor with event reset, but they don’t work as I expected, probably because I use the same event for trigger an alert and resolve an alert. Any idea ?

There must be something misconfigured. Missed Event Detection -> Windows Event Reset is the correct one.
Use Event ID 10 and Source Mpis as expression in both Simple Event Expression and Missing Event Expression. in Missing Event Detection, use "Based on fixed simple recurring Schedule" and choose 60 minutes/1 hour.
I have configured this in my environment, and this works perfectly; if no events are logged within an hour, i get an alert. If i then create the event, the alert Closes.

CCR Error 154 - Planned Order Missing in R3 with External Key

Hi Experts,
We have duplicate orders generated for E Type products at a particular locations. When I went into the CCR then one error was observed - Planned Order Missing in R3 with External Key (CCR Error 154). And all the duplicate orders which were of PPDS Orders only came into the CCR log.
Request you all that if anyone has any information regarding this then please reply.

Hi,
This error occurs in cases where order is deleted in APO and not deleted in R3.
Reason and steps to be followed in CCR:
Orders once deleted in APO wil have change pointer R and orders created in APO which has to flow to R3 will be having change pointers C.
In this case you need to follow the steps mentioned below.
step 1 select change pointers icon x then do iteration . This will delete the orders in R3 and bot R3 and APO will be in sync.
w/o selecting change pointers icon X if we do the iteration you will get PPDS planned orders in APO since orders to be deleted in R3 is not actually deleted and flow back to APO and hence you will have duplicate orders.
step 2 select orders with change pointers C , seletc the change pointers icon X and do the iteration.
This will publish the orders in R3 and will return back to APO.
In your case step 1 was not followed and hence you are getting duplicate orders.

An RSS feed with future dates is not recognized

I'm using a jquery function to load an RSS feed with Ajax: Chrome can see both past and future RSS entries but Firefox doesn't show entries with a date in the future: is there something else I should do (I'd like to avoid writing an RSS feed and an html page with the same data that I would have to later update)?

Do you see the same behavior if you load the feed directly? In Firefox, you can use
Bookmarks > Subscribe to this page...
when the page contains a <link> tag recognized as a feed.
In that case, you might need to bypass Firefox's transformation and parse your XML using your own code.

RSS feed with thumbnails

I'm creating a website where I have a classifieds section with featured ads which I can generate an RSS feed with images for.
I am looking for a way to set up an rss reader on my dreamweaver homepage which would scroll through the featured ads, which is easy enough to do with the title and description, but I would also like to include the thumbnails.
I just thought about it because of NetVibes, here's an example on the top left:

There's nothing magic to RSS: it's just an agreed-on
"standard" of XML.
If you make a CFM template output RSS-compliant XML (just as
usually you
might output XHTML-compilant mark-up for your website), you
can comsume it
with your RSS-reading CFM file.

A good RSS reader with auto torrent download capability?

I'm creating a torrent download box using deluge. The problem is, deluge doesn't seem to have its RSS plugin built into it anymore, but it does support auto downloading by putting torrents in a folder that deluge will watch. I now just need an RSS program to download the torrents from an RSS feed with support for regular expressions. Does anyone have any good ideas?
I would prefer not to use ktorrent at all, although even when I tried testing it out, I couldn't find its RSS capabilities.

Yes, you can. The Arch Wiki doesn't have a guide on cron, but the Ubuntu Wiki has a guide here that should help you.
If this is a machine with low specs, you could get by with rtorrent. The only reason I don't use rtorrent day-to-day is because I'm not smart enough to figure out how to limit connections. You could use rtorrent + rssdler and be just fine.

That's because "publishing a feed" is really "uploading a file to a web server". Most web servers don't allow the HTTP "PUT" method, and most RSS feeds are probably not updated that way. Rather, the feed document is uploaded to the web server in whatever way the web hosting service provides; FTP, or via a POST from a web form. Since there's no standard, it makes sense that there's no API for publishing a feed.
For any given web hosting service, it's possible to automate the upload; but the details will vary.

Jabber 9.1.2 missing DLL's with Win8 64bit and WebEx Connect

I realize that Windows 8 is not yet listed as supported operating system for Cisco Jabber for Windows, but I would like to make it work anyway I am trying to use Cisco Jabber for Windows 9.1.2 on Windows 8 with WebEx Connect. I am able to log in and IM just fine, but when I attempt to launch an Instant WebEx Meeting the first time, I receive the error
"WebEx Meeting is unavailable. Unable to connect to WebEx meeting server. Please try again later."
However, for any subsequent attempt to launch an Instant WebEx Meeting, I receive three errors in this order:
1) The program can't start because atWbxUI14.DLL is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
2) The program can't start because ATKBCTL.DLL is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
3) WebEx Meeting is unavailable. Unable to connect to WebEx meeting server. Please try again later.
In both cases (fresh install and subsequent attempts) I receive an email letting me know that my meeting is in progress. So, I know that it has connected to meeting center and set up the meeting. It just can't seem to launch the WebEx interface. I have no problems launching WebEx by any other method that I have tried (e.g., Productivity Tools, from a browser, or if I uninstall Jabber and install the WebEx Connect client).
Has anyone seen this one?

I had actually tried that already, but just for kicks I did it again. Webex Connect was not installed. I uninstalled anything that had the word webex in it. I uninstalled Cisco Jabber. I went through C:\ProgramData and C:\Users\[username]\AppData\, and I deleted anything that had the words Webex or Jabber. I rebooted the computer, I installed Cisco Jabber. I rebooted the computer again before starting the application. Then I went into meetings and clicked "Instant WebEx Meeting." It gets to the point where it is installing the webex plugin. Once the WebEx plugin installion completes, I get the same error as before.
Since Windows 8 is not listed as a fully supported operating system for Cisco Jabber for Windows, I suppose this kind of thing is to be expected. I was just hoping that maybe someone had found a work around.

Time Machine did not restore my MacBook Pro, many iOS apps were missing and replaced with "?" in the dock.

This weekend I had issues restoring my MacBook pro using Time Machine. I was left with question marks in the dock for the folloing apps in Bold, the others are not on the dock but they could not be found..
1. Safari
2. LaunchPad
3. Missing Control
4. Mail
5. System Preferences
6. Photo Booth
7. Terminal
8, Itunes
9. Disk Utility
10. iText Express
11. Notes
12. Maps
13. XCode
14. iPhoto
15. Calendar
They were not in Finder, and as the Lauchpad icon was not there I could not check there either. Spotlight was not showing them either. They simply were not there on the Mac.
I checked on Time Machine and they could not be found there either. I don't believe they were backed up by Time Machine in the first place. I do not have any programmes or applications excluded in the TM preferences.
Its interesting that all my 3rd party apps were there, all the missing ones are from the Maverics iOS.
I ended up having to reinstall Mavericks via a VERY SLOW internet connection and hey presto, everything came back to normal.
It was a very tense few hours as I thought I had lost the lot, photo's and itunes collections etc.
Time Machine is sold to us by Apple as the perfect solution to keep your data safe and recoverable.... Really?
I do like Apple products, but this has left me a little unsure about them now, its like the trust and confdence goes when you catch your child stealing and lying to you...The confidence will come back but I guess I will always be a little warey now..

It appears only the applications where missing. So your own data were safe all the time. However...

It appears the bug is very difficult to reproduce, mainly because in most cases it is only discovered when people try to restore an existing installation.

Music files missing after sync with iTunes

All of my devices are updated to the last version.
I created playlists to manage syncing music from iTunes to iPhone.
Sometimes my music files would be missing on my iPhone 6 running iOS 8.1 after sync with iTunes 12.0.1.26.
When music missing, they look OK in iOS playlists, but will appear a "waiting for copy” symbol on the right side then jump to next song one by one when I try to play.
It's really weird because it happens randomly, I totally have no idea when it will happen again, more even far from why ...

try this:
Reboot the device by pressing and holding down the home and sleep/wake buttons (power) at the same time until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings

CrystalReportViewer: "Missing parameter values with implemented error event

I'm using the CrystalReportViewer in APS.net (C#), and try to display a report in it.
I've implemented the error event of the viewer to show the user a different error message than the viewer itself does.

If I load a report with no params in the report, the page shows immediately the report.
If I load a report with params in the report, the params page is shown, the user can enter the param values, and after pressing OK, the report is shown.
If an error occurs (for example the report cannot connect to the database), the viewer does NOT show the error (because i've implemented the _error event) but my code throws an InvalidOperationException, and this is handled by code so the error is logged to a file, and the user gets a user friendly message on the website.
If i do not implement the _error event, the user will see the technical error in the crystal reports viewer.
If I comment out the code where I'm looking for the string "Missing parameter values." (or "Ontbrekende parameterwaarden") the parameter page will not be shown, and an error will be thrown by the Crystal Reports viewer.
If I put e.handled = true in the _error event, and there is an error (for example the database cannot be found), no error will be thrown, and there is nothing to see in the viewer.
So for now the only way to get the params page is to implement the _error event the way i've done in the above code, checking the error message on a string value.

:Due On" date field missing while posting with Spl GL indicator for vendor

Hello,
I am facing a problen while posting a n entry with spl GL indicator in fb01, the issue is Due On date field is missing in the screen.
I am posting an spl GL transaction for a vendor thro FB01 and after entering the posting key 39, vendor code and spl Gl indicator in line item and in next screen, the "Due ON" date field is not appearing.
Both vendor recon account and spl GL alternative account use same field status group and checked the field status group , the due date, payments terms are made optional.
The strange thing is, when I use the same vendor with Spl GL indicator "A" , the Due ON field is missing in next screen, and when I use spl indicator " B" , for same vendor, Due On date field is appearing.
Is there any specfic field status setting for DUE ON date field for Spl GL indicator wise? or please help me how to bring due on date field in the screen when posting spl GL transaction?
Please help me on this.

To make field baseline date for payment (BSEG-ZFBDT) ready for input for
posting the down payment, the following Customizing setting is
necessary:
Financial Accounting -> Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable ->
Business Transactions -> Outgoing Payments -> Automatic Outgoing Payment
-> Payment Method/Bank Selection -> Configure payment program -> All
company codes -> double-click on corresponding company code -> under
Customer -> 'Sp. G/L transactions to be paid' the letter A should be
entered.
The field "Due On (BSEG-ZFBDT)" cannot be controlled with field status.
It is contolled by field attribute of screen painter (Tcd: SE51). If
you look at element attribute for "Due On" field, a flag for required
entry is activated. In this case, field status has no control over
the field.
As of release 3.1G, field BSEG-ZFBDT is hardcoded in most FI screens
to be mandatory and cannot be influenced by any field status
changes. This situation is only valid when posting with special G/L
indicator (ie PK 29/39).
SAP development team has determined that this is a critical field. The
reason behind this is that this special GL screen and the data entered
here are very important to many other programs. This data affects
liabilities and receivables where due date is necessary almost
everytime. Thus, we changed this field in this screen in order to
prevent problems in many other areas. The reason is explained further in
note 95079.

PDFMaker missing files issue with PDF Forms from Office 2007

Hi,
I have Adobe PDF 8.0 Pro installed (full installation) and I upgraded office from 2003 to 2007 AND Windows from 2000 to XP Pro.
I used to be able to create PDF Forms from an Excel document when using Office 2003.
Now, when I choose to create a new form starting with an electronic document [from an Excel 2003 document (.xls)], I get this error message:
"PDFMaker files are missing, would you like to repair?" (please image attached)
I did the repair. Did not worked.
I made sure the add-in in office was enabled. Did not worked.
I un-installed Adobe 8.0 Pro and Adobe Reader 9.0 and re-installed only Adobe 8.0 Pro , thinking there was a problem there. Did not work.
I googled for more answers, did not find anything else.
I am able to "print as Adobe PDF", I can create normal PDF documents, but not the Forms.
I used that option all the time for work. Can someone help me please?!!

I have another question: in the past, to enable Acrobat READER users to fill out a form and save it on their computer, all I had to do is "Enable Usage Rights in Adobe Reader" in the "advanced" menu of Acrobat Pro.
I did just that but my colleagues who have Adobe Reader 9 cannot fill the form. It appears as a scanned PDF document to them.
Any idea why?!
