Missing themes?

I use Aperture for most of my photo work, but need to view some iPhoto books and create some new ones. When I try to view a saved book, I get an error message saying that no themes are installed. I just re-installed iPhoto from the iLife 08 disk, updated to 7.1.3. I checked and the folder of themes is located in the /Library/Application Support folder, where they should be. Why can't iPhoto find them.
I also rebuilt the databases, no change.

  • Missing theme files

I'm opening a previously saved document and I'm getting this huge list of missing theme files. Any ideas how to fix?

It was installed from the App Store. I worked with tech support on the phone (2.5 hours) and we did not solve the problem, however, I encountered severe Keynote problems in the past and it was font related.
One of the first things I did when the problem started was to go to FontBook, select all the fonts and run a Validation. Then, the fonts with marked with an X, I removed. Unfortunately the problem continued and it seemed to be getting worse. Now, I couldn't save files without a warning coming up and I was losing the photos that were placed in the doc.
The tech had me do a safe boot, open a new user, etc. The new user worked but who wants to switch back an forth between users just to do a Keynote preso??
As is often the case when you are at your wits end, you go back over things you have already done. I went back to FontBook and ran the validation again. Much to my surprise all the X fonts were still there. Hmmm. So, I went in and manually deleted these varmints.
Problem solved. Now the corrupt files are still corrupt but I was able to create a new presentation, clean from errors.

  • Missing Theme(s)

I created a project in iDVD 7.1.2 (running OSX 10.6.8). I started with a plain theme, tweaked it the way I wanted and saved it as a favorite. Put the whole thing together just fine.
When I open the project again, I get the Missing Theme(s) error that other people have posted about. It supposedly cannot find the favorite I created. When I clicked OK the first couple times, the project opened just like it should, despite the message. I tried deleting the com.apple.iDVD.plist file but that didn't make any difference. But now, 2 days later, I get the message and it won't open correctly. Nothing has changed!
Also, when I open this project, or a new project, the theme I created always shows up in the list. So iDVD is finding it just fine but not connecting it to my project. Every time I do this in iDVD, I have similar problems. It's as if Microsoft wrote the program.
Does anyone have any idea what is wrong with my themes?
    Thank you very much.

Unfortunatgely iLife 11 only provides iDVD 5-7 themes.  The Software Update no longer installs the earlier themes nor do any of the iDVD 7 updaters available from the Apple Downloads website contain them.
Currently the only sure fire way to get all themes is to start with the iLife 09 disc:
This shows the iDVD contents in the iLife 09 disc via Pacifist:
You then can upgrade from iDVD 7.0.3 to iDVD 7.1.2 via the updaters at the Apple Downloads webpage.
However, if the older themes are already present in the iDVD folder in the library there should be a way to get them liked to the application.  I've not run across a solution that works for everyone except the above.

  • Missing themes in iDVD6

    Hi There
I am running iDVD 6.0.3 on 10.4.10 and have a problem now in that I am missing themes from previous versions. I say missing but some of them are there but only as separate slides that cannot be selected. Version 6 themes seem to be okay.
I have trashed preferences & even reinstalled the whole package using pacifist but to no avail.
Am at a loss to know what to do next!
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks
    David

I take it you have done a Finder search but could not find the themes. And, you looked in Library/Application Support/iDVD folder and also found no themes. Check also the package contents by control clicking on the iDVD icon.
Since it is simple to do, I would first start with updating Quicktime to version 7.2, and, in any case, doing a permissions repair using the Disk Utility application.
If all else fails, you might try moving Library/Application Support/iDVD -folder to another location and then do a reinstall. I read somewhere that that fixed the problem when iDVD 6 themes failed to show up, but it might also work here.

  • Missing Theme Font

Cant start iPhoto error message missing theme font, the font is required to run the application

Perhaps iPhoto did not download completely.  The fonts are stored inside the application bundle.
Delete iphoto from the Applications folder (don't empty the Trash, so you can put it back, if need be)
Then sign into the App Store, go to the Purchased tab, then install iPhoto again.

  • Unexpected quits, missing themes, missing fonts and broken file paths

I created a project in iDVD 5 on the Powerbook at home, and then took the drive containing the project and all related files to my dad's office to burn it on his iMac G5 (the drive in the powerbook won't burn anything - separate problem). I put all the required files which were on the Powerbook's internal HD in a folder on the external HD, so that they could be reconnected at the office (when the "following files could not be found" dialog pops up).
However, when I opened the project on the G5, from iDVD, it told me that at least one of the themes I had used could not be found. "Ok," I thought, "which ones are they?"; clicking the "show details" triangle, I got the following message:
"The following themes, used by this project, are missing on your system:
    (null)"
This occured a total of five times, before the "following files could not be found" dialog appeared. Some of them had been on my desktop or in my preferences on the powerbook, which I had copied into the aforementioned folder on the portable HD, but it could not find any of the movie files nor some of the image files, all of which had not changed position on the external HD since I started the project. I showed it where all of the files were, and then another message popped up telling me a font was missing. At this point it froze on the spinning coloured ball of death, before showing me an "unexpectedly quit" message. I have been through this so many times, even tried deleting the "com.apple.iDVD.plist" file, which didn't help. I am at a loss.
iMac G5 Intel Core Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   2x 2 GHz Intel processors

What version of iDVD is on your Dad's computer. Since you have posted in the iDVD 6 forum, perhaps it is iDVD 6? That may be your problem because I would NOT expect a project created in iDVD 5 (as you have done) to work in iDVD 6.
If you had iDVD 6, I would have suggested you try creating an actual project archive out of iDVD (FILE>ARCHIVE PROJECT). The archive SHOULD contain all the elements you need to work on another computer.

  • Does sender file adapter loose files/ miss them??

    HI All,
I am in a file to IDOC scenario.
Xi is picking files from a network folder and creating each file into a single IDOC and sends to R/3.
All seems fine when we do testing for 1 file at a time
However I realised that if more than 20 or 40+ files come into this folder at once, it does pick all of them and processes them but somehow it randomly at-times misses to create an IDOC for a single file.
There are no system-errors. RWB is clean. SXI_MONITOR is clean. No errors. Just that system has randomly not created an idoc for a single file. It has created for rest all...just one is missed out sometime.
Has anyone faced this before. Any hints what could be wrong.
    Regards
    Shirin

    Hi Shirin!
I had very, very long CSN discussions with SAP XI/PI Support on that issue. SAP very long said this is "feature not bug". But in the end even SAP recognized that this is maybe "bug not feature" and for XI 3.0 in one of the recent support packages this issue is fixed in that way, that the Adapter now reports an error when getting and archiving/deleting files without processing them further.
I'm not sure about the concrete SP number ... just apply the latest SPs if possible.
Another workaround is to write a report checking on file system level whether all incoming files have really been processed. For a customer I solved it as follows: Incoming files are archived in directory xyz and after processing the file in XI it is finally also stored in directory abc. Then I wrote an ABAP report in XI/PI comparing the contents of these two directories xyz and abc and reporting any differences (optionally as alert or email or just list output). Simple but efficient.

  • Missing Themes option and touch sensitivity is strange..Sticky swiping

Just bought 2 new blackberry storm 9350 one from Amazon and one from ebay for my husband. Both arrived new in their individual boxes. One was made in Canada (Amazon), and one was made in Mexico (ebay). The one made in Canada does not have options to choose different themes.  That is my main concern.
A second strong concern is  the touch sensitivity is really sticky on the one from Canada.  The touch sensitivity is real nice on the one from Mexico.  I set touch sensitivity exactly the same on each, but the Canadian one is not nice at all swiping is really sticky.
Note:   This is my 3rd blackberry storm, and my husband's 2nd.  These 2 are not acting quite like the earlier ones.
3rd issue is that The one from Canada did not come with a charger...Only the adapters for foreign outlets but no charger to plug them into.  It did come with a manual and cds. However the one from Mexico did not come with a manual or cds (luckily I have one from the other box)

    This is a partial duplicate:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Storm/mms-missing/m-p/2603751#M67694
But, given the additional information in this thread, I would deduce that the condition of at least one, and perhaps both, of the devices is not "new"...rather, a used device that has been carefully repackaged so as to deceive the purchaser into thinking they have bought a truly new device.
    Good luck!

  • Missing Themes  in iPhoto

My daughter is unable to print photos from her Imac 20 inch Intel machine because her themes folder is missing.
Can I do a copy of the Themes folder from my Imac G5 and transfer to her
machine presumably placing it in her HD/Library/Application Support/iPhoto?
A quick reply would help as I'm going to her place very soon

Look in your User/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder for a Themes folder. If you find it there move it to the HD/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder and reboot. Then try iPhoto again. That may save you having to go thru the reinstallation.

  • Missing theme elements in imovie HD 6

I am suddenly missing some theme elements. In the Travel theme I am missing Chapter One. I am also missing the Open element in both the Black and White Reflection Themes. In all three of these the drop zones are visible, I drop photos in but they do not show up when played. This occurred on both my iMac G5 and Mac Book Pro. Anyone with similar problems and can advise on how to get them back? I tried to reinstall but it did not fix the bug.

    Hello, eppacker,
    Welcome to the discussions!
Have a look at your System Library/Application support/iMovie/Themes. You should see the five themes listed as themename.bundle. If you don't see these, you should reinstall iMovie 6 (again).
If you see them, but they are not working in iMovie, try deleting iMovie's preference file.
Close iMovie, go to your Home Folder(YourUserName)/Library/Preferences/com.apple.imovie.plist
Drag this plist file to the Trash. Don't worry, iMovie will create a new one when you relaunch it.
    Reopen iMovie.
If this does not help, do a 'Repair Permissions' on your computer's drive.
Close iMovie and open Disk Utility.
From the list of drives on the left, click once on your computer drive's name to highlight it.
Make sure Disk Utility's First Aid tab is selected.
    Choose 'repair permissions'
    Wait.
If anything needs to be repaired, say ok.
Keep doing 'repair permissions' until you see the message that the drive is fine and does not need repair.
Reopen iMovie and see if it is working ok now.
Post back if none of this helps.

  • Installed/updated iDVD on Mavericks but still missing themes

I am new to the Mavericks OS.
I have used iDVD for years and love it.
Since Mavericks did not come with iDVD, I bought iLIFE 9 and installed it.
So now I have all the older themes but want to get the newer ones too.
When I open iDVD and click CHECK FOR UPDATES, I get the message this is the most up to date version 7.1.2.
But when I check the themes, it appears I only have themes 1-6, not 7.
I tried Apple Updater and installed iDVD7.1.2, but nothing changed.  I am still missing the last set of themes.
Any advice what I should do next?
    Edit

You can install the iDVD 7 themes with the  iDVD 7.0.4 updater.  If it won't install by itself use the demo version of  Pacifist to manually install the iDVD 7 theme folder.

  • Missing theme for printing

I recently had to do restore a backup version of iPhoto, and now it won't allow me to print. It says that there are no themes installed. Obviously I missed restoring something. What is it and how do I reinstall it?

  • My grandkids have moved away and I would like to see them by video but she has a Ipad and I don't know what to download to be able to see them.  Help, I miss them so much.

My grandaughter has an IPAD and I have a Toshiba computer with Windows 7.  My grandkids have moved away and I want to be able to see them by video but my daughter says that I have to download Apple and get facetime?  I'm not real computer savvy but I desperately want to see my grandkids. Could you help me please?
    Thanks
    Rita

    Good morning.
FaceTime will not work on a Windows computer.  But, I believe that SKYPE has an application that will run on the iPad.  So, if you go to SKYPE.com you can see their offerings.  You will need to create an account (there may be a fee) and you will need a web camera for your Toshiba ( a Logitech 5500 comes to mind, assuming it does not have one built in already).
Your grandkids will also need to set up a SKYPE account.  After that, you should be able to video chat to your heart's content.
    Hope this is helpful.

  • Missing themes and titles in Premiere Elements 4

I have recently downloaded a full version of this product and registered it. When I went through the tutorial to learn how to use it when I came to the adding titles and themes sections it would appear all the drop downs are empty.
The effects and transitions however are present.
Can anyone help with where I can find them?
    regards
    Jon

With other Adobe programs, that are acquired on-line and delivered by download, there is almost always an additional file (all that I've seen, or heard about had a separate link, but very near-by) for the Functional Content (Adobe's parlayance for "Extras"). This is then a second install, and will only work, when you have the program's install complete.
In PE4, using the DVD and doing the initial insatll, I was asked if I wished to install the additonal material, and I chose to do so. One the Auto-run menu of that DVD, there is also a setup for installing these extras, for people who decide later, that they wish to do so. With a downloaded version of the program, there is an additional file to do the install of the extras. Often, there will be two links: one to an archived version of the file, and one to an .EXE, or .MSI version of the file.
As for the 7Zip file, mentioned above, it is a version of the popular ZIP format. I have not seen it recently, but had to get the 7Zip application and install it, to open up the 7Zip files. Going back a few years, it was a freeware program, and had functionality beyond the 7Zip format. I still used WinZIP for my ZIP, ARC, etc. files, and now probably could not find my 7Zip, without Google. For me, that was all it took to get to a download site for that app. It works just like WinZIP and other utilities, some of which are now built into the Win OS.
