Mms video stuck in camera roll

I received a .3gpp video by mms . i can play video on phone. I pressed save video. The video does not show in the camera roll but it does show in the little picture window next to my button to take a new picture. the issue is i cannot delete if from my phone --it does not show up in the camera transfer or in the portable storage device (windows 7) ANYWHERE TO DELETE IT .. i talked to apple support they said that could happen if i deleted it from the mms before i synched-- not true and is still there -- there suggestion reset i phone back to original -- but im scared it will do it again next time i get a video --- anyone got an idea

This EXACT thing has happened to me! My sister has a cheaper phone and just assumed I'd be able see it on my "Fancy" iPhone and I can view it! However, that's ALL I can do, view it in the original MMS thread. I can't put it anywhere, I can't delete it ... it's just stuck there.
I'm sorry but wiping out your iPhone contents and restoring them from back up ??!! That sounds more like what you'd do for a virus. Do you have any idea how many older cell phones use 3gpp and the solution for my iPhone is to treat any video sent to me via MMS as a VIRUS ... nice solution.

Actually, I think that to a certain extent, iiCloud does support video storage - for backup purposes anyway. Maybe I am splitting hairs here or it's simply semantics ... Copied from Apple's iCloud backup and restore overview....
You get 5GB of free iCloud storage for:
Photos and videos in the Camera Roll
Device settings (for example: Phone Favorites, Wallpaper, and Mail, Contacts, Calendar accounts)
    App data
    Home screen and app organization
    Messages (iMessage, SMS, and MMS)
    Ringtones
    Visual Voicemails
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4859
So if the video was in the backup - and you restored the iPad from that backup, then the video would be retrievable .... But only by restoring the iPad from a backup that contains the video.

  • HT4859 5GB worth of storage for photos and videos in the camera roll

Why does Apple keep saying this when they know that videos from the camera roll cannot be uploaded to the cloud??

Oh okay, now I get it. I'm just getting used to this whole cloud thing and I thought they were the same thing. But one is back-up to keep it safe and one is to send the photo stream to the cloud and to share.
Thanks for your help, but I'll ask you also if you know of a way to save photo stream videos to the cloud??

  • My friend's iPod touch 5th gen is locked somehow for 41 years and she does not have a backup. Is there a way to unlock the iPod without restoring it or loosing the pictures and videos from the camera roll?

My friend's iPod touch 5th gen is locked somehow for 41 years  and she does not have a backup. Is there a way to unlock the iPod without restoring it or loosing the pictures and videos from the camera roll, the applications can be redownloaded and she had no music. Is there any known bug about ipods locking on their own because no one seemed to have tried to bypass the 4 digit code and it is locked for 26 million minutes. So thank you if anyone has any information or help for us.

Your friend may have placed the ipod next to an object that repeatedly pressed the screen.  Under certain circumstances this can lead to what appears to the iTouch to be failed attempts to access the system.  After repeated failed attempts, the Touch increases the waiting time required for the password and may ultimately lock in the way you describe.
It's been a while since this was posted, but this might be informative to someone else who finds themself in a similar predicament.

    Anyone have any ideas?

You have two choices to try & fix this: 1. Backup your phone, then restore as a new device, then restore from the backup you first created, or 2. Follow the advise from this poster:
I had the same problem with the black blocks after upgrading to iOS4 on my iPhone. The reason for the black blocks is that the thumbnail images for those particular images have not been created when the Photo Library has been updated to iOS4. I followed the advice on a couple of blogs and fixed the problem.
    1. I downloaded iPhone Explorer free software (http://www.macroplant.com/iphoneexplorer/) so I could view the photo data folders on my phone. I could see that the thumbnail images were missing.
    2. I followed a slight variation on the instructions on this blog. (http://blog.mbentley.net/2010/06/iphone-ios-4-upgrade-restore-lost-pictures-in-c amera-roll/)
    3. First I copied the Photo Data folder by dragging it from the iPhone Explorer window to my Mac desktop.
    4. Through iPhone Explorer I deleted the info.plist file in the Media/PhotoData/MISC folder.
    5. I also deleted the Photos.sqlite and PhotosAux.sqlite files in Media/PhotoData.
    6. I then rebooted the phone and launched the Photo Library.
    7. The Library rebuilt it's self again and recreated the thumbnails.
    8. The problem was fixed!!! Thank you M Bentley!
I hope this helps - this has been bugging me for 2 weeks.

  • HT4640 Adding a video clip to a keynote presentation - do I have to keep the original video on the camera roll?

I have several keynote presentations that are missing their video clips.  Does the original video clip need to stay on the camera roll after you embed it in the presentation?  I thought not, because when you add a video, a message comes up saying "compressing video" before it gets added.  That made me think that a special compressed version of the original video is made and saved along with the presentation.  I've tried testing this by creating a new presentation, adding a video clip to it and then deleting the original video from the camera roll and the video clip in the presentation was not affected.  You'd think if the clip were linked to a presentation, that iOS would warn you before you delete it from the camera roll.  But I can't think of any other reason why the clips would suddenly be missing from all my keynote presentations.

You can do this with iMovie '06, but not with iMovie '08. You should have iMovie '06 still on your hard disk if you upgraded from iLife '06, or you can download it for free from Apple. Under Editing -> Video Effects, you will find the Fast/Slow/Reverse effect that will do this.

  • When I placed a video from my camera roll on my ipad to keynote on my ipad I lost sound how do you make sound work?

When i placed a video from my camera roll on my ipad to my keynote presentation on my ipad I lost sound how do I get sound?

Not sure of the answer, but does the sound disappear when it was added to the photo roll, or when you try to import it into Keynote?

  • HT201302 Saving a video to your camera roll from an email

    Hi,
I am trying to save a video I received in an email to my cameral roll on an iPad2.  How do I do this?

Depending on the format of the video you may or may not be able to do this.
If its a supported format, like m4v or similar, you can tap and hold on the icon in the email and a box with options should pop up.  One of them being "Save Video". This will save the video to the camera roll.
If you don't have the "Save Video "  option you will not be able to save it your camera roll, but still might be able to save it to an App that can play the video by tapping the icon for the App in that same screen.

    Hello Achates:
I did not read the rather long post. If you wish to reinstall OS X 10.4, use your software install DVD. Backup is essential. To minimize your risk, I would use an archive and install:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107120
In that way, you will have a fresh copy of OS X and your current settings will be preserved.
Incidentally, I do not agree that the printer problem is best solved by reinstalling OS X. I have had HP printers for sometime and, on one occasion, had difficulty after an upgrade. HP technical support walked me through uninstalling all traces of the HP driver and then reinstalling.

  • Recovery of deleted video clip from camera roll

How can I recover a deleted video clip from camera roll?

Is the deleted clip contained in a backup that you have?  If so, restore from that backup.  Please note that all content created on the phone since the backup was done will be lost

  • I have 10Gb of photos on my iphone, so can choose only half of it (5Gb) and share it with icloud and leave the rest on my phone storage, or i must share all photos and videos (my whole camera roll)

I have 10Gb of photos on my iphone, so can choose only half of it (5Gb) and share it with icloud and leave the rest on my phone storage, or i must share all photos and videos (my whole camera roll)

No.  Your iCloud account only includes your the camera roll photos stored in the backup.  And they can only be accessed by restoring the backup to your phone.  Also, if you delete any photos from your camera roll and continue to back up, the backup that contained the deleted photos would be overwritten by one that doesn't and they would be lost.
If you want to save some of them and delete them from your phone, import them to your computer as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.
Another option is to import all of them to your computer and delete them from your phone, then put the ones you want on your phone in a folder and sync them back to your phone by selecting the folder on the photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing.  The advantage of this approach is that synced photos are placed in an album called Photo Library, which is not included in the iCloud backup (since they are already backed up on your computer), thereby saving space in your iCloud account (which only backs up camera roll photos).

  • How can i get my video back to camera roll

    hey guys
recently i tried to mail a friend a video of mine  ..anyway  the video got to him in  a greyed gif !!  idk how it just did
so am tryin to send it in another way the problem is i already deleted it from my camera roll
when ever i open my message i can see my video and i can play it  !!  but i can't save it back to my camera roll
it gives me only 2 options (copy/paste)   and that's it  !   So how can i get it back ^^
if uploadin a screenshot helps , please tell me to do so .

That's good but it is a lot simpler than that: Open iTunes, and connect your iPhone. Then go to your Phone, and choose "photoS" which should be at the very end. Select a folder on your Puter where you want to hold photos to be shared on your phone... and drag the movie mack in there. Notice that there is a selection that says "Inclide Videos" - So, drag the movie back into your shared folder, then hit SYNC - Boom, movie is back in  your phone!

  • I need to transfer a mac iMovie video to the camera roll of my iPad, is this possible?

I have a MacBook Pro with iMovie, an iPad 3 and a PC.  I took video on the iPad, created a movie on the Mac with iMovie and now I want to save that movie back to the camera roll in the iPad so I can transfer it to the PC and share it with others on PC.  Is this possible?  How else could I get this video on my PC?
I can not email the file it is too large.
I am at the office an unable to connect iPad or MacBook to wifi for any cloud sharing.
    Thanks,
    Mike

When I first read the question I thought, "How can (s)he not know how to do that?"  But before I answered with what I thought would be obvious, I looked at iMovie on my iPad and realized it's not so clear.  So here it is.
Go out to the home screen and select Projects at the top of the screen,
Tap on the project you want to export to the Camera Roll,
Select the icon in the middle which looks like a box with an arrow pointing up [^],
Save Movie is your next selection,
Choose which resolution you want to save the movie in,
You can now find it in your Camera Roll.
I'm very glad you asked actually because I tried exporting a movie I shot in 1080p in the lowest resolution, 320p, and it still looks great--I mean like YouTube great, not Vimeo great.
