Mobile phone vs isync...

Hi all!! well, my problem is that i can't connect or syncronize my nokia n73 with isync and neither with bluetooth settings. My mac recognize my n73 but can't create a connection....
My version of isync is 3.0.2 (574.0), if someone has any idea... thank you so much!

Can you describe the steps you are taking to setup your phone for iSync?
Open the Bluetooth system preferences pane, click the + icon bottom-left of the window, the follow the instructions in the *Bluetooth Setup Assistant* to set up the phone.

  • How to undo an accidental deletion on mobile phone with iSync?

    Hi!
I accidentally deleted all my calendar information on my Nokia E90. I have all the information on my iCal but if I now sync the phone with it to my understanding the iCal information will be deleted as well. How can I restore the calendar information back to my phone?

Click the icon for your phone in iSync, then choose Reset Device from the Devices menu.
It's also advisable to make a backup of your Contacts and Calendars first using the relevant command on the File menu in both Address Book and iCal.

  • Does iSync not support your mobile phone?  try this.

Recently I got a Samsung A777 mobile phone. I wasn't able to learn everything about it before buying, but in absence of the information I couldn't get, it was the best choice for me. When I attempted to sync it with my Mac, iSync told me in so many words "This device is not supported by iSync". Well, there's more than one way to skin a cat.
So I did a little research. First I found this site http://blog.jayfields.com/2006/08/sync-your-samsung-phone-with-your-mac.html which links to this app http://homepage.mac.com/gaz/FileSharing13.html
After some experimenting, I discovered I can export in vCard 3.0 format, skip using the app, export a group of contacts to one file, and send it to the phone. Done. The address book on the phone contains one entry per name, each entry contains all of that person's numbers, and each number bears the correct icon for home, work, mobile, fax. Email addresses copy too.
This method of syncing is so easy I think nothing of deleting the entire address book from the phone, and uploading the whole contacts group again. Since that's what I've been doing, I don't know if uploading the contacts twice back-to-back would create duplicates. And as far as I know, there's no way to sync back from the phone.
But I don't care much about that. I'm fine recording a voice memo reminding me to make certain changes to an address book entry on the Mac and sync the whole thing again. Takes just a moment.
Perhaps in the future Samsung will be more SyncML and OpenSync friendly.

You can make this process a bit shorter by doing this:
    1) Drag the *Bluetooth File Exchange* application to your Dock.
    2) Set-up a Group in *Address Book* containing the contacts you want on your phone
Then, whenever you want to re-copy the contacts to your phone, just do this:
Open *Address Book* and drag the Contact group onto the *Bluetooth File Exchange* icon in your Dock.
(BTW, for true bi-directional syncing with iSync you might like to contact http://www.novamedia.de as they do iSync Plugins for over 60 existing Samsung phones, and may be able to do one for yours).

  • HT2205 can isync be used for windows os mobile phone

i got a mobile phone which run Windows os.  Can the said software be used for sync between the phone and Mac PC (os 10.7)?
i get another Samsung mobile phone.  The Kier program, that released by Samsung, cannot find/connect the phone when using USB wire.  When using Wifi, the iCal cannot be sync.  What is a better soluction for this?

The free one is on the Mark/Space website. I found it by:
    1>>Go to www.markspace.com
2>>Click on PRODUCTS on the NaviBar
3>>Below the "Choosing your phone for the Missing Sync", there is a bunch of links under the title PRODUCT SUPPORT. The last link (on the last line) of that bunch of links is FREE VERSION UPDATES.
4>>I needed one for Windows Mobile. So I downloaded VERSION 3.1.0, and haven't used a serial code. It keeps asking me everytime I sync to get a serial, but I haven't. I just said "REGISTER LATER", and I have being getting away with it fine. I know it's illegal, but they offered it as a free version. Who can argue with that?
    (Don't answer that question!!)
    Hope this helps!

  • Is there a mobile phone that can sync with ical, but does not require a data plan?

Is there a mobile phone that can sync with ical, but does not require a data plan?

Thanks for the reply.  I already have this info, but have spent several hours trying to cross reference with the product descriptions and the different carriers websites.  I was hoping there was an easier way.

Is there any software that syncs your files with a mobile phone. NOT AN IPHONE!

  • Whats the best mobile phone for syncing to macbook?

I am about to buy a mobile phone and i want to know which one is the best, for ease of connection?

Personally, I would recommend any of the later Sony Ericsson models. Either the K800 or K610 (supported in iSync 2.4), or any of the additional models supported by iSync Phone Plugins from here.
You can see what data is synced on the page linked above. You can also use them with the Mac Address Book for SMS and Calls.

  • Compatible Mobile Phones and Syncing software for Entourage

Is there any mobile phones out there in Australia that have compatability with OS 10.5 and can sync with Entourage?

    Hi, Philip.
Apple's list of iSync-compatible devices is the list as far as I know. It's unclear to me what you mean by "give text messaging via Address Book."
There are a couple things I can suggest to help you find more information:
    1. If there's a specific Motorola phone you're considering, post to the iSync Discussion requesting feedback on the specific functions in question from owners of that specific model phone. The iSync Discussion is the best venue for your question.
    2. One can often download the user's guide or manual for a phone from the manufacturer's Web site. I did that recently from both Nokia's and Motorola's Web sites when I was comparing phones. You might find the specific information you're looking for in the phone's manual.
    3. Contact the phone manufacturer, e.g. e-mail Motorola via their links under "Customer Support" for the UK with your specific questions.
    Good luck!

  • Syncing contacts with my mac and my phone using isync

    Hi
I have had a macbook for the past 7 months and have bee using isync on an irregular basis and with different mobile phones. So far it has been going well.
I have recently acquired a nokia 6230 and i have synced it with isync. I thought it had worked.
I realised the other day that a number of contacts are missing.
I went back to isync and tried to re-sync my phone to get the entries on my mac to be sent to my phone, but no. I sync seems to think that if a contact isn't present on my phone, then its not needed. The missing contacts are definatly on my mac (31 to be precise) and all i want to do is get them to be sent to my phone along with any other contacts i may add via address book in the future.
Any suggestions would be amazingly helpful!
    Thanks a mil

ok fair play, you've helped hugely and its kinda impressive
its work, exceot for one slight problem, theres about 20 contacts that sync differently compared to the others. They appear with a dash before the name e.g. - John....
any ideas?? like its easy to fix but its just seriously annoying.
thanks a mil, great having people like yourself!!

  • RAZR not recognized as "Mobile Phone"

I have been trying to get my PBook to recognize my RAZR as a Mobile phone. First the basics - my PBook (15" Aluminum 1.25 GHz / FW 800) has built-in BT and that is working fine. I can see the device and can xfer files using the BT File Transfer util. I am setting the phone as discoverable, and the little Bluetooth icon flashes on the phone. I'm running Tiger with all updates installed - all that are available via Software Update as of today's date.
If I use the "Any Device" option in the BT setup wizard, my phone shows up in the list and I can successfully pair with it. If instead I choose "Mobile Phone" I can't see the phone. I've tried deleting the Bluetooth preference .plist files, removing the device pairings and then re-running the wizard, but the only thing I can get to work is the "Any Device" option. After being paired, the following shows up in the BT "Device" tab in System Preferences:
    Device Name: troy's RAZR
    Device Address: 00-14-9a-dc-15-8a
    Device Type: Computer
Device Services: , Voice Gateway, Hands-Free voice gateway, OBEX Object Push, OBEX File Transfer, Dial-up networking Gateway
    Paired: Yes
    Configured: Yes
    Favorite: Yes
    Connected: Yes
I'm having problems getting the PBook to actually 'see' the phone as a modem (have also followed a bunch of other instructions here, including d/l-ing some of the modem scripts for the Moto phones). I can't iSync with BT, either. The RAZR is not seen by iSync.
I'm missing some key parts of the setup that are done via the Mobile Phone setup screen, and I think that is the root of my problem. Any ideas on how to fix this? Why is the RAZR not recognized as a Mobile phone?
    Thanks!!

I can't get my PowerBook to recognize my V3 at all. I have had complete success with my V600, but today I got a new V3, and I'd like to get my numbers from the V600 to the V3. There are too many to copy them to the SIM card (I hate the way it's all or nothing!), so I'm trying to do it with iSynch. I have managed to synch the V600 with no difficulty, but I can't even pair the V3. Is there some optimum position you need to hold the phone in relation to the PowerBook, some secret incantation or what? I tried selecting Mobile phone and Any device, but neither one works, and I've tried it on two different user accounts, so I don't think it's a preferences issue either.

  • Mobile phone inbox

I need to retrieve messages from inbox of mobile phone (i.e both on SIM and on Phone) programmatically through codes. Can someone help please! Thanks

Short answer is you can't... And certainly not with your W810.
iSync doesn't support syncing Mail, and even if it did, the W810 doesn't have the required software to read and display mail in that way.
The in-built email client in the W810 is for sending/recieving mail via POP3/SMTP etc. which isn't what you want to do.
This sort of functionality is usually reserved for SmartPhones, and even then appears to be tricky to get working properly.

  • Connecting Flash with Java inside a mobile phone

    Hello,
I'm working on a TBOT project that is running on Java on
mobile phones, and we have been pondering the possibilities of
making the UI with Flash Lite 2.0. Currently we are thinking of
using XML / textfiles to get the data to FL from the java, but
sending data back to the Java client inside the mobile phone is
something I have no experience of, and was wondering if it is
    possible even?
Basically can a FL application connect with / contact other
applications / services in the same mobile phone? EG. Sending data
to somewhere in a mobile phone? Or can the Java somehow intercept
stuff Flash lite sends out for example?
Thank you for all your help.
    Cheers
    Niilo

I think you will be happier if you go about it through Bluetooth. I had a dongle for my Ibook 1.2 and now my Ibook 1.33 is bluetooth enabled.
I use Verizon and have a Motorola V710 (bluetooth) . The connection works perfect everytime! I am disappointed that this new model Verizon phone does not support Isync. To sync data from the computer to the phone. I did find that Verizon was not very helpful as they don't seem to know much about Macs. I had to find out on how to connect via Google. Good luck! Geof

  • IMac G5 & mobile phone

    Hi,
Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but here goes. I'm about to buy a new mobile 'phone after losing one months ago. My only requirement is that it plays real tones/MP3 tones. It didn't even occur to me that some or all phones wouldn't be Mac compatible (how naive).
Anyway, I've pretty much decided on a Sony Ericsson Z530i, so does anyone know if this is going to work with my Mac? From my limited research it seems I can probably use iSync to transfer contacts etc, but what (if anything) can I use to get music files onto the 'phone?
Here's hoping someone has some suggestions.

By choosing a Sony Ericsson phone you're getting probably the best brand of phone to work with the Mac.
The Z530 will sync up just fine. And you can transfer files to and from the phone via Bluetooth or USB cable.
If plugged in via USB the phones internal memory and memory stick storage will appear on the desktop as drives to which you can drag and drop MP3s, M4A (iTunes) etc.
You can see a list of iSync supported Sony Ericsson phones on my site here - this list also includes phones supported by my iSync PhonePlugins too.

  • LG mobile Phone not detected with USB cable!

    What should i do?
My new LG KG810 Mobile does not Sync with my mac. are there some hacks available?

BitPim supports many LG phones but not the Chocolate.
Given the poor support for Macs in Mobile Phones you really need to buy a phone on the iSync list if you intend to use it as such.
