Modal popup with lightbox effect on page load

Hi friends,
I was looking for help for making a windows modal popup with reads a url from xml file and load it into windows modal popup in the centre of the screen on page load. The requirement was also that it will dim the rest of the page. After searching at several places I got hint at:

Now there are two issues that background page is not getting dim and if any one can help me in telling how to load flash modal popup on pageload. I dont want it to be annoyed so just want to load popup once a session of once a day only on first page, I am trying cookies but I dont know why I it is not reading cookies in production environment. There are lot of examples available in javascript and silverlight but I want in flash.
Any help shall be highly appreciated.

Thanks. Unfortunately I'm not sure the code will apply to my
situation... I'm actually not using a Spry dataset in any way, just
some Spry effects to enhance my own markup (which comes from a PHP
page but is static as far as the document is concerned.)
If I put the Spry effect in the body onload handler, the
element appears for a second as the page loads, then disappears
suddenly as the Spry fade in effect kicks in bringing it from 0 to
100.
Another related question, I would like the Spry effect to to
fade in with some values ending at the values as set by my CSS
class... is it possible to have it do so? In other words fade from
0 to current value? I know there are some ways to retrieve default
styling of an element but figure Spry might have something built
in?

Execute ViewObject with Parameters at JSF Page Load? JSF/ADF/BC 10.1.3

This 'should' be a simple problem, but I'm not seeing an answer, no doubt because I'm not searching for the right thing.
I have a page that has a grid populated by a view object that has a couple of named parameters. I have the values stored for the parameters based upon actions the user has already taken before they navigate to this page. I need to pass the parameters to the view object and open the query up without any user intervention, preferable before (or at) page load.
I see I can drag an 'ExecWithParams' from the data control pallette, but it looks like it would default to having the user enter the parameter values, which is what I'd like to avoid.
In a previous life I had events available like 'OnCreate' where I'd put code like this, but I'm still learning to think in JSF/Java.

Ok, now I see how it's supposed to work. Pretty straightforward if you know where to look. It raises another question for me though...
In my process, I've got the user logging in, at which point a series of user preferences are extracted from the database. My first thought was to store them somehow in the users' session, but I didn't see a way to do that, so I created my own implementation of it with a bunch of getter/setter methods, inside the data model of the project. Unfortunately, I can't see a way to surface them without putting them in the ApplicationModule and adding them to the client interface. In the interim, I came across some utilities methods (written by Steve Muench and Duncan Mills) called ADFJSFUtils and JSFUtils. In the JSFUtils there's this method:

I assume it's designed to work in the ViewController project (since I haven't been able to call it from my Model project) .

I'd love to just implement the storeOnSession right in my appplication module, but it lacks the context, apparently.

Using Skillbuilders modal plugin with a non apex page

Hello,
I have created an apex application that includes a page with a button that uses the skillbuilders modal plugin in order to open a .jsp page. The issue is that the size is too short and I can not display all the components (Just the tittle and two buttons). I have tried to set up the height or weight but the size does not change. Any ideas?

Hi Dovi,
I had a look at your application and can see the link your using for the kids and tech fields modal isn't passing the session ID which is why it is asking you to log in again.
Below is an example URL for your issue, it isn't tested though.
f?p=&APP_ID.:20:&APP_SESSION.:::19:P20_EMP_ID:&P19_EMP_ID.:: You will need to change the page numbers of the pages and items to match the page numbers of yours. This is using the statically defined url inside the plugin itself, I have also only done this in an earlier version of plugin but believe the functionality is very similar.

Problem with "Back" Button in pages loaded from Google search results

I am using Windows XP Home 32bit and Mozilla Firefox Ver 5.0
I do a search using Google and I go to page 3 of the returned queries (links) and then go to one of the sites from the search results. When I hit the return button while in the site chosen from the search results, instead of returning to page 3, it always returns to page 1 of the search results.
This happens on any page ie I go to page 22 and use a link then hit return button it still returns to page 1.
Only started happening in past couple of days and it's very annoying. I have not updated Firefox or added any new extensions/add-ons. i have cleared cookies, uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and issue still appears.
I have Google Chrome and IE and tried the same query in both and it works as it should work, ie returns to the correct page, so my conclusion is that it may be a Firefox Ver 5 issue.

If I turn off the "Use a secure HTTPS connection when available." setting in the google search settings, then the problem goes away...

Popup Lightbox on page load

May have overlooked it, but is there anyway to have a lightbox open on page load rather than just on a trigger? Thanks for any help!

The only event a lightbox widget gives you is "On Click", so the programming in Muse itself couldn't open the file without clicking on the trigger first.

How to query from view with parameter, only when the JSP-page loading

I use JSF/ADF BC, create two viewes:view1 and view2, in the JSP page the user press a button to query from the view1, but I hope the view2 can be queried only when the page loading, it have no relation with user-operator, and pass the column value of view2 into some variables, the view2 return one record.

Dialog Box Open before Page load using af:CommandNavigationItem

Hi,
I have a CommandNavigationItem menu, the requirement is simple.
Use Case:
1. On click of one of the menu item, i need to display a message or prompt user to select "OK" or "Cancel"
2. If user clicks "OK" will navigate to the require page. and "Cancel" will stay on the page.
I have used couple of things like, creating a af:popup with a af:dialog and calling this popup from managed bean on page load, it works fine get a popup with a "OK" "Cancel" text. But the problem is it opens the popup fine but the parent page get loaded also.
Please help me to find any solution? Will appreciate your time!!

I have tried but struggling with binding of the popup.
1. let say when i login to my application my first page is "homeView.jspx", so on homeView.jspx i have written the code for popup.
2. And in the menu i have "home" and "details", so when i click the "details" menu this popup should open, and on clicking ok it should navigate me to the Details page, as you suggested ActionListner for that.
Please see below what i have done till yet.

My doubt is i am doing something wrong with the scope of the managed bean. in the above code i have used backing bean scope,
let say i have a java file example ABC.java, which is a backing bean scope given in adfc-config.xml. can i use this one java file for two of three different jspx as a backing bean? Hope i am clear here? :)
2) when we create a jspx and its backing bean at a time, is there any internal mapping happen apart from adfc-config.xml that one jspx will have only one java file as a backing bean?
Sorry if i am making this more complicated, above question comes because, when i move the same popup code in "Details.jspx" page and at the time of creation of this page i have created backing bean also so when i calling this function on page load "checkOnClickofDetails" which is in the Details.java (backing bean) the popup comes fine. but unfortunately cannot use this because parent page get laoded with this popup also.
let me know if i am doing something wrong?

Can I call af:setPropertyActionListener ona JSF fragment page load. Otherwise, how would I go about setting a property on my managed bean when a JSFF loads.

Web View / Play on Page load...

I have experienced an issue with the play on page load option within DPS. When embedding multiple html5 animations within one file the play on page load makes all animations start at the same time. By the time the reader has read the copy and lets say comes to page two or three the animation on that page has already played. If I now don't want to loop the animation it means all the fun is over when I come to the page.
Anyone experienced similar problems?

Yes, I've noticed the same issue. With some Web Content overlays, the play on page load option actually means "play on article load." This happens with the Overlays > Web Content article in the DPS Tips app. There is a local HTML animation on page 3 of that article that launches when you first turn to the article. I'll ask around and let you know what I find out.

Do the following
1) window.open('somePath/YOUR_JSF_PAGE .jsf') in your javascript code.
2) Invoke doActionShowPreview() method in the constructor of your BackingBean.

Web pages load slowly using Safari, Firefox, and Chrome.

Web pages are loading slowly now on my mid-2008 iMac 2.66 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo.
Doesn't seem to matter if I use Safari v5.1.10, Firefox v29.0.1, or Chrome v34.0.1847.131.
Problem started about a week ago mostly with YouTube but now I have issues with almost all web pages loading slowly, including this one.

Try resetting both your Intenet MODEM/Router by unplugging them, waiting 15 to 20 seconds then plugging them back in.

Open Infopath form in Modal Popup.

I am having SP2013 and I wanted to open my Infopath 2013 forms in to Modal popup in SP2013. At present if I am trying open info path forms, it redirect to the page instead of opening form in to modal popup.
