Modbus, having trouble reading more than one register.

I think my issue may be something simple. I am able to read exactly one modbus register correctly. If I try to increase the registers to any more than one I get a timeout 6101 error at the Modbus read module. So far I've tried a number of different layouts, and even two different Modbus slaves from different vendors with the same results. I'm using a USB-RS485 converter with the FTDI232 chip. Again, a single register read always returns the correct data - so I'm almost there. The register divide routine on the right had side is rudimentary for now until I can get data from multiple registers. Any help is appreciated.

I have solved the issue. On my RS485 converter (I'm using one from bb-electronics), I had "Echo on" enabled. This caused the written command to re-appear on the read buffer. The modbus read function will accept this configuration - but only when reading one register! So, for anyone with this issue in the future - check your echo setting.
Someone more familiar with the modbus protocol's working and the internals of the read function could probably explain why this situation would manifest.
I understand the timed loop is bad practice - I should loop while no error, but I was trying to fix my core issue before making any improvements.

I just got the board two days ago and got everything set up, but I've been having some trouble with my ram. Whenever I have more than one stick of ram, it fails to post, unless I clear the cmos before I power on. Then, it will give me the option to load the bios or run on default settings. If I run on default, it will boot up fine and work well for about 5 minutes. Then it will shut off and not post until I've cleared the cmos again. So, I figured I had an incompatibility issue with the ram. So I tried another set, the Crucial Ballistix BL1286AA1065.8FEF with the same results. Next I went with the Rendition RM12864AA800 with the same results. I tested each stick individually and they're all good. Each slot works fine as well. I switched the old mobo back and all was well. The only thing left is the PSU but I don't think thats the problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Its the PSU, go for better one with strong single rail like Corsair VX,TX Series.

Simultaneously read more than one input and generate output

Is it possible To simultaneously read more than one input and generate outputs depending on these inputs? If this isn't possible what is the best way to go about making some sort of timed loop that will read an input, read the next input, decide whether or not to output and so on. Hope someone can help. These will get you started to being able to handle multiple tasks at the same time.

It sounds like you just need to associate the PDF filename extension with Acrobat, rather than Preview. Please see this document from the Microsoft Help for instructions on choosing the default program for opening a particular file type (in your case, PDF): Change which programs Windows uses by default - Windows Help

Having difficulty assigning more than one tag to a photo...

I know that you can click more than one tag to a photo, but if I filter for say photos that have no tag, and then assign a tag to that photo, it then is removed from that filter, because it no longer meets the filter's definition - it now has a tag.
For example, I have 200 photos in a file, some with tags and some without tags. I filter for photos that have "No Tag." I see a photo of a bird in a field. I want to assign the tag "bluebird" and "Ellwood Bluffs" to the photo. But when I assign "Bluebird," the photo now disappears, preventing me from assigning the second tag.
Any suggestions?

So the second paragraph should read:

I have Bridge for Mac (version 2.1.1.9. I am not rating photos. I am assigning tags, what Bridge calls keywords, so I can search for the photos later using metadata.

Trouble nesting more than one Character Style...

I am trying to create the below heading in CS5 on a Mac:
Lesson 2.1: Who am I?
So I made the Lesson 2.1 a character style called "Lesson #." And then I made Who am I? a paragraph style called "Lesson title" and nested the "Lesson #" though 1 colon. And that worked great. But then I felt like the space between "Lesson #" and "Lesson Title" was too big. (This seems really nit-picky I know but the boxes the lesson titles need to fit in are small and the titles vary in length so I was trying to save all the space I could for the longer titles.)
Lesson 2.1: Who am I?
So I made the space (see the underline above) a character style of it's own that was the same as the "Lesson Title" in all aspects except that it was 11 pt font. I then made this a nested style in the "Lesson Title" that came after "Lesson #" through 1 letter.
But it doesn't seem to be working very well...which made me question if there was something else I needed to do in order to nest more than one character style? Or whether I should be even approaching this issue in this way....

I am having problems emailing more than one photo at a time - please help!

I have recently upgraded my old PowerBook G4 to Leopard 10.5.8, and since the upgrade I can't seem to send more than one image from iphoto at a time via mail. When I try, I get the message: " mail got an error: can't get paragraph 8 of content of outgoing message id 113491328. Invalid index." It could have something to do with the sizes of the images you're trying to send.
In the updated iPhoto, there's a selection for the size of the image. Try attaching the smallest size and see if that works for you.

Netbeans creating wsdl file having message with more than one part...

I am using netbeans 6.0.1. I made an xml schema, then I wanted to make an wsdl that uses that schema.
I wanted to put in a message more parts(3), and it would not let me. Then, i made the message with just one part, and added the other parts afterwards.
But now, when I try to make a web service from that wsdl, it says that there is no service in the specified wsdl file.
And if i let that message with just one part, it will make the Web Service.

The message that Netbeans says when trying to put more parts to the message is:

Having trouble connecting more than two scenes together!

Hi,
I'm creating my first Flash site, it's a simple portfolio site. The home page has 3 buttons that should link to three different "pages" (scenes). Each of those pages should link back to home and to the other two "pages."
I've created two scenes so far that link together well using the code:
on (release) {
gotoAndPlay ("scene2", 1);
And so on.
However, when I create a third scene and set up the buttons, then test movie, they don't link properly. I've retried three times now, and each time, once the third scene is added, that button will link to the 2nd scene, or both buttons will link to the 3rd scene and I'll lose the second.
What's going on? Have I missed a step? Is it impossible to create more than 2 scenes per project?
ALSO---Is there a more effective way to build a web site using flash? I've heard that doing it all with scenes in one project creates files that are so big that they have to load on a web page? Should I be creating different .swf files and linking them to each other? If so, how do you do that? Do I embed each one into it's own html page and then "getURL" in each....?
HELP! I need this done by next week!

For starters, in my opinion (and others'), scenes are not a good foundation for Flash designs--they can be problematic (as you have already experienced). You are better off using the one timeline and creating your other pages as either sections of that one timeline or movieclips on or along that timeline.
The approach of using separate swf files is also good, especially if you expect some sections might result alot of file-weight if combined into one file. You could do it as you mentioned, having each page be its own separate html-based Flash section, or you could load each section dynamically into one file when called for by the navigation. The latter approach would allow for a more seamless presentation as the main interface wouldn't be reloading like separate pages would.
The dynamic loading approach would involve using either the MovieClipLoader.loadClip method or the loadMovie method. If you wanted to have control of the file when it first loads, then the loadClip approach is the right way to go because the MovieClipLoader class supports having an event listener which you can use to determine when the file has completed loading.
For a portfolio site, there is the chance that the main sections of the site wouldn't be the weighty factor, but the portfolio samples would be. In this case, you could load the portfolio content dynamically either using some form of thumbnail driven gallery/slideshow functionality. Taking the dynamic approach for the portfolio samples would make it easier to add/remove content. The content changes would involve simply changing a data file rather than editing the Flash file all the time.
So you have a number of options to consider... but you'll do yourself a favor if you shrug off the scenes approach early on (in my opinioon... I have never used them in my own work).

What happens when the query is only one line long?
What happens when the user wants to use more than two lines to enter the text?
Suggestion: use a loop and use something simple like a blank line to signal

Having difficulty converting more than one page of a PDF to Excel.

I am using Adobe Acrobat 10.0 to convert PDF files to use in Excel. I am working with PDFs that have several dozen, if not hundreds of pages, almost all of which contain very lengthy tables. I need to have these tables saved in a format accessible by Excel, but I am running into a bit of difficulty. Whenever I convert a PDF, I can open it in Excel and find that the very first page of the PDF has converted over perfectly. Any headers are properly placed. Any tables are perfectly aligned, spaced, and appropriately divided among different columns. All information is laid out fine. All the information from the second page on is crammed into the first column.
I have tried to save the PDF as an Excel workbook, and I have tried selecting just the tables and exporting them to Excel. I get more or less the same results whatever I try. I can convert a single page at a time without any problems, but since I have thousands of pages of tables to convert, you can probably understand why I want to find a solution to this. I need to be able to convert over multiple pages without having all of the information from tabels within the PDF getting placed into the first colum. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Adobe strongly recommends that you should NOT have Acrobat and Reader installed on the same system. They have the bad habit on stepping on each other's files. You do not need both programs to read PDF files.
You should uninstall Reader and repair Acrobat. I also recommend that you restart after removing Reader and after repairing Acrobat.

Query to read more than one aggregate at same time - is it possible?

Hi,
We have 2 aggregates set up. One contains data for 2007, the other for 2006. These are restricted by setting fixed values for 0CALYEAR.
When running a query for a single year the correct aggregate is picked up depending on which year is input.
When running the query for a range which spans both years then no aggreagate is picked up and the cube is then read.
Is there a system setting somewhere (RSADMIN table possibly?) which allows for multiple aggregates to be used when query is executed?

Unfortunately we have too many queries against the cube in question to have to create and utilise restricted key figures per year.
I'm looking for a quick fix solution here if it exists - i.e. a parameter setting possibly.
I of course always use RSRT when testing the use of aggregates.
When I enter the range of years I get the following message:
Not possible because -
'____Characteristic/attribute 0CALYEAR does not have aggregation level */%'
This is displayed against both the aggregates for 2006 and 2007.
When using only one year then it correctly finds the aggregate for that year.

Then your second loop also loops over each user - hence you get number of users * number of users = 3 groups of 3.
If you have 4 users, you would have 4 groups of 4.

At a guess, the inner loop is unnecessary, and you want to write the users name as the text for the link, and also use it as a link parameter.

How to read more than one AMUX-64T Channels, by using specifier OBx:y

I'm using AMUX-64T with 6025E, and I want to read channels 0-63 of AMUX-64T, I had tried OBx:y but maximum channel was 15 channel. and there was no example of specifier OBx:y for AMUX-64T.

As I had written in the comments, the first time I call ".evaluate", it works, the second time it raises an exception.
The Xml is correct! The string "/simulation/setup/warmuptime" is correct!
I tryed to place a:
xPath.reset()
between the two "evaluate", but still doesn't work.
Can you give me an help? or suggest me an url where these things are explained in a simple way?
I just need to get some data from an XML file and XPath seems to be the quickest and easiest way.

Are all the files in one directory? If so you can make a File object of the directory, get an array of all files in that directory (File has a method to do this). Then loop over your array and call a method that reads the File that you pass as a parameter.
