Modify standard Java Iview ?

Hello,
I would like to modify in our system (EP 6 SP 2) the standard MSS Iview "General Data" by deleting some information and adding some specific data.
I have questions about the following steps:
- with a Java Developer Role, where can I get the .par file in the portal?
- with the .par file, could I import it in NWDS or could I modify it directly by decompiling the java classe?
Thanks,
Regards,
Jerome.

Hi Jerome,
      Changes to the MSS business package should be performed using NWDI as these iViews were developed using webdynpro.Please refer my blog for more details,

Hope it helps.

  • Coding standards for developing java iviews

    Hi All,
    Are there any coding standards to be explicitly followed to develop Java iviews in SAP Enterprise Portal ? Does SAP has any specific java coding standards to get the SAP certification for the developed iviews ?
    regards,
    sreeram

    Hi Sreeram,
    > Are there any coding standards to be explicitly

    > Portal ?
    No. What you can find (for example within the PDK doc or partially created by wizards) are templates for the different kind of iViews, especially for JSPDynPages. But you have to care - even these templates are not really "clean" - there are objects used to store data which shouldn't...
    > Does SAP has any specific java coding standards to get

    No. What is needed is the proper use of namespaces, but this primarily concerns portal objects within the PCD. Some implementation things are to be considered, for example if i18n is offered, it really has to work. But SAP does not care about the source code of the iViews.
    Hope it helps

  • Modifying ESS/MSS iViews

    Hi,
    Can someone please guide me to how I can modify standard ESS/MSS iViews, for example, to remove unwanted UI elements etc. The portal version is EP6. Also, I understand that with EP7 most iViews are Web Dynpro Java/ABAP, can these be modified also? Is there any docs or how to guides which will show me how to do this? Are there any Weblogs out there that anyone knows of? I've been searching and searching but have had no such luck thus far. All help will be very appreciated.
    Thanks
    Tony.

    The "cookbook" for ESS is available via service.sap.com (the specific OSS note is attached too can be found with a search on here....sorry, don't know it right off). The cookbook does apply for EP6 and ESS ECC5.0. Basicaly, it steps you through setting up NWDI(JDI), creating your "project", pulling the needed Webdynpro into your NW Dev Studio, modifying it and re-deploying to NWDI and onto the portal.
    An even better way....there is an online class available from SAP (it is part of the ERP2004 training) that covers ESS/MSS in-depth as well as modifying the files. The entire course (of which ESS/MSS is a small part) is $500 USD last time I checked....well worth it.
    The new ESS/MSS/self-service WebDynpros are based on the Floor Plan Manager framework which can be tricky to understand....the class above helps cover that too...has material I have found no where else but in the class.
    Hope this helps.

  • PCUI: Authorization for Links in Java iViews (Favorites)

    Hello,
    when I copy one of the roles delivered with CRM, modify and use it, there will be no hyperlinks shown in the so called 'Favorite' iViews (Java iViews) - e.g. 'My Favorites: Opportunities'.
    When I add SAP_ALL to the test user hyperlinks will be shown.
    Does anybody know which authorizations (RFC,...) I have to add in 'PFCG' to get hyperlinks working for Java iViews?
    Thank you
    Robert

    Hello Gregor,
    basically I did a trial'n'error approach. Added all roles and removed all roles via manual "BinarySearch" until I got a working role (-set). Mostly there are "*" entries in SAP standard roles for RFC calls.
    Unfortunately I got your answer when I had already a working role. I agree, your way would be the correct way of minimizing number of autohorization entries in a role. Maybe I would have saved lots of time also...
    Thank you so far.
    Best regards
    Robert

  • Java Iview Runtime error after logon

    Hello,
    we are facing some problem regarding our EP 7.0 SP13. We have an anonymous page as our home page, with some anonymous ivews, like "help", "news", etc and one iview with authentication set to default where users log into the portal and access to the private section of the portal.
    That ivew does a redirection to /irj/portal and since the user is athenticated it will led him to the private home. The problem is that after logon, a Java iview runtime error appears, and users must refresh the browser to access the private section. (user is logged before the error appears).
    We have checked this is not happening with users with "super admin" o "content admin" role. They are able to log into the portal, and redirection is working fine. So we think there can be some problem with security zones or authentication somewhere in the portal, but since this is the standard logon component i don´t know why is this not working.
    We have checked that the redirection is working, and we have made some tests with different kind of iviews like KM iviews, URL iviews, pictures, etc. Only admin users are able to log in correctly, the others get the java iview runtime error, so we think the problem is with to standard logon...
    Here goes a trace of our problem (defaultrace.trc):

    can anyone help us with this problem?
    Thanks in advance

    The problem was solved, it was a permission problem.
    The anonymous role which allow access to the anonymous section of the portal was assigned to anonymous user, but it hasn´t everyone permission. So anonymous users were able to see anonymous pages, but when they login they lose the role, and java iview error happened, unless they had admin rights.
    Solved assigned by assigning everyone to that role.
    Thanks

    hi Prashant,
    Thanks for your reply.
    I am able to see the Iview with all the components(textfield,buttons).
    But the image is not displayed. and I am not able to check whether the connectivity is been established.
    in this part of code
    text = new TextView("fgfdg"+Str);
    I am assigning the value of "Str", which i get from R/3 to "text",
    but in the iview the value of "Str" is not displayed.

  • Need one more field in standard solman iview

    Hi All,
    I need to add one more field in my standard solman iview which gives only 4 fields and 1 radio button. I require 5 fields and one radio button.
    How can I add an additional field in standard iview?
    Is there any other solman iview which I can use?
    Please Advise.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Shreya,
    you should have system administrator role to work with par file.
    go to system administration -support-portal runtimeBrowse deployment-look for something com.sap.portalepsolman.par.bak and download it.
    you can import that into NWDS and start modifying the jsp files.
    When you import par files into NWDS jar file will be missing in the directory strucuture so you need to add it manually.once you do the changes deploy the par file from NWDS and upload it Portal using system administration-support-portal runtime-administration console-upload

    But lets read before what i am looking for..
    There is standard "Print" function available on webdynpro for java iview.. and layout and all its just fine for us. though we want to trigger this event from a screen button. as going to iview properties is very user friendly.
    I was looking for some iview api which can help me.. We are on NW 7.01 SP6 at the moment. And this is for standard ESS applications.
    Thanks a lot for your inputs.

    Hi
    You can write Java program for printing. Call the java class from screen (button or Url). Also you can write the content to XMl file.open the xml file in action. so that u will get print preview and print option.

  • ISR Form Java Iview problem.

    Hello,
    We are having an ESS Iview named "Hire External Applicant" in Portal.
    This iview has been customised.
    I found that to construct this iview "5.     Request Form as Java iView in Enterprise Portal 5.0" section from ISR Cookbook is been used.
    i.e. Created a request form using java iview.
    This iview is being used in two places :
    1. Create
    2. Update.
    Now Create is working fine.
    But when this iview is accessed from Update section...i.e. user press update button:
    the customized section in java iview is not getting updated.
    Where this problem could be.

    There is a new form section in existing standard form.
    This section contains 4 new customized checkboxes.
    When create button is pressed the values from these checkboxes is properly getting updated in R/3.
    But when Update is pressed, these values are passing blank "As if nothing is selected" to R/3 module.
    But at the time of Update button, all existing standard fields in form are getting updated.
    I think that in case of update, these check boxes are not mapped properly to R/3 System.
    I opened the par file in NWDS, and found that there is no code for mapping of values, and moreover same iview is working fine while create button is pressed.
    Please guide me as of where could be problem.

  • ESS/MSS custom services or modify standard service with WebDynpro Abap

    Hi all,
    what's the procedure to modify standard ESS/MSS or create new service with WebDynpro Abap.
    Thanks.
    Miki

    Hi
    First, The ISR Scenarios are not for iviews. They are just a part of a view. We can use webdynpro ABAP with the ISR Scenarios. We need to embed these forms into our webdynpro ABAP views and code accorsdigly to get the data. There are some standard components that are provided by SAP to handle ISR Forms with Webdynpro. Check these.

  • How can we fetch the information from standard ItemDetails iView of SAP MDM

    Hi Portal/MDM experts,
    Is there any chance to fetch the information from standard ItemDetails iView? if it is possible please tell me the process.
    If it's not, how can we customize the ItemDetails iView using java WebDynpro .
    my requirement is, I have to fetch some of information from itemdetails iview and it'll be used in other WebDynpro  application, means we have fetch some details from itemdetails iview and populate them in another application. Please suggest me the procedure to do this.
    Regards,
    Mahi.

    Hi Mahi,
    Please follow the below steps:
    1. Create the Result Set iView.
    2. Select the Custom Events button and Add the Custom Event
    3. Select Event Type=EPCF
    4. Give Event Name=EpfcTest and Namespace=urn:com.sap.tc.webdynpro.mdm.epfc.test
    5. Select the desired fields to be passed to the WebDynpro application and give the parameter name.
    6. Save the iView
    7. Create WebDynpro application and write the below code.
    public void wdDoInit()
        //@@begin wdDoInit()
    namespace = "urn:com.sap.tc.webdynpro.mdm.epfc.test";
    eventname = "EpfcTest";
    WDPortalEventing.subscribe (namespace,eventname,wdThis.wdGetCatchValueAction());
        //@@end
    public void onActionCatchValue(com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.IWDCustomEvent wdEvent, java.lang.String dataObject )
        //@@begin onActionCatchValue(ServerEvent)
    int marked=dataObject.indexOf("=");
    String value=dataObject.substring(marked+1);
    wdContext.currentContextElement().setCatchedValue(value);
        //@@end
    variable Data Object will contain all the Mapped fileds separated by ;. You can then use the String functions to separate the parameters.

  • How to modify ESS/MSS iviews without NWDI

    Hi Everybody,
    The last couple of day's I have been searching the forums to find an answer to the above mentioned question. Is there a way to modify the ess/mss iviews without NWDI?
    I have tried allmost anything I could think off... Unzip the files and import the files manualy into nwds etc...
    After while I saw a posting that SCA files could be imported in the latest version of NWDS, I was able to import the SCA files of SAP into NWDS 7.1, but I am not able to create a project out of them. Probably this will also lead to issues when uploading the newly build sca files into portal 7.0.
    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks in advance.
    Kind regards,
    Xander

    Hi Xander,
    Some time ago I had the same question as you and as you I tried several things to load the SCA file to NWDS but after several tests it was loaded but without the screens.
    I was able to create the project but it was missing many things when I tried to compile the project,  the reason for this is that the ESS Package has a dependency in other SC as specified in the SAP Note 872892 - JDI/NWDI Cookbook for ESS/XSS (NWDI.zip File).
    When you have all the dependencies (SCA files) it is a bout 700 MB which is a lot to load locally and figuring out exactly what you need  will take a long time so at the end I could not use any trick to avoid the use NWDI as I only had to do 1 change to 1 DC ess/ca/padata so installing NWDI was an overhead for that only change, but at the end I have to do it.
    I found the same posting as you and it seems NWDI 7.1 has the feature to do exactly what we needed.
    But if you want to modify just the iviews as you are mentioning in your post you can do this straight in EP Content after copying your own content from the SAP standard content to do your modifications.
    Best regards,
    Juan Jose
