  • Input signal out of range with HDMI to VGA adapter LE1901w

    Hi!
Recently I acquired an LE1901w monitor to use as second screen. I'm trying to connect it to my Toshiba u925 using an HDMI to VGA adapter (because neither the monitor has a HDMI port nor the notebook has a VGA output).
I'm getting the message "input signal out of range" asking to change to 1440x920 @ 60Hz and it keeps showing until the monitor goes to sleep even when I change the settings as per requested.
I have an integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000 and i'm using the default Windows monitor drivers for Windows 8.1
    Any comment will be helpful
    Thanks

    Hello @fbinim,
I understand that you are getting the message "Input Signal Out Of Range" and it is asking you to change to 1440x920 @ 60 Hz. I suspect this is a driver issue and you will need to ensure that your drivers are up to date on your computer. Just to be sure I would recommend if you could to move the HP LE1901W monitor to another computer and ensure that you do not have the problem there. If you do have it on another computer The issue you are experiencing appears to be a physical issue. Please call our technical support at 800-474-6836. • Laptop monitor goes black after connection external vga monitor

    Hey,
I have a Qosmio G50-10H, running windows 7 32-bit. After connecting an external monitor the internal laptop screen goes almost black. It's possible to see some elements on screen, but it's to dark grey to work on. It does not respond much to color or brightness adjustment (black to really dark grey). The main trouble is when disconnection the external monitor the internal monitor still is dark grey and still isn't responding much to adjustments. It's so dark on the brigthest adjustments that it is impossible to work on. I have downloaded latest driver for support, but still same problem.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi buddy,
That means the internal monitor is always dark grey even you start the notebook without external monitor?!
Well, in such cases it could be a LCD inverter malfunction. This part controls the backlight of LCD and if its defective, you can see a picture but its very dark/grey.
By the way: Do you notice the same behavior if you are in BIOS setup? So you can check if its Windows related problem or not.
In worst case you need help from an authorized service provider. They can check what the problem is exactly.

  • What is the problem with 15-inch Macbook Pro model 2011 after connecting to TV with HDMI chord?

Today we connected a 15-inch Macbook Pro model 2011 with HDMI chord to an Insigna Television. We plugged and unplugged couple of times. But recently the macbook pro is having technical issues. The following symptoms are:
    1. Macbook pro turns on and off
    2. The screen stays blue and keeps loading but does not load to the desktop so you can't access to anywhere
    3. The screen sometimes becomes fuzzy and the apple logo that shows before it loads to the desktop is fuzzy
    4. Sometimes fuzzy lines appear on the screen like you see on television when there's a bad signal
    5. The screen stays blue
    6. Sometimes little specks appear on the screen
Only thing we did was turn it off and restart but it still leads to the same symptoms above.
Does anyone have any clue what caused this problem? I am guessing it is due to the connection to the HDMI chord, since we didn't turn the macbook on and off when we plugged it, rather we just unplugged and plugged the chord while the macbook is running.
Another theory might be watching movies from an online source but the first theory seems to make more sense.
We scheduled a meeting with the genius bar tomorrow but does anyone might have any clue? And also any ideas how to fix this? This is an emergency because there are important files on the macbook we didn't back up and we hope the files are safe and we need to use the macbook ASAP. Let us know anything that might have caused this and/or any solutions or help. That would be appreciated and thank you.

Hey there! Welcome to the Discrete GPU issue clube ... post your relate here >>> 2011 MacBook Pro and Discrete Graphics Card
And for GOD SAKE! Call Apple to tell them that you're another user with such problem ...  that action can improve a future recall. BTW the fix price for your problem is around U$ 1000,00 ... that's the meaning of the recall attempt

  • Problems with screen resolution after connecting to HDTV with HDMI

Hope that somebody can help with this.
For a while I was connecting my iMac to my HDTV with a HDMI cable and a Mini Displayport Adaptor and had no problems.
The other day when I decided to put the sound through the TV (it was a quiet recording) and switched off the mirror mode my screen on the iMac went very strange.
The left of the screen was very skewed with strange colours and the actual wallpaper and icons was only on the right-hand side of the screen (I couldn't see the time, some icons, etc). The mouse pointer wouldn't go onto the left-hand side of the screen.
I have updated the software and when I now restart it - the resolution is incorrect and I cannot see the entire screen without scrolling across (although the strange stuff on the left-hand side isn't there). Whenever I now connect to the HDTV (using mirror screen) I get the same problem again.
Any help would be appreciated as I am fairly new to Macs.

Do you mean the screen looks like it's zoomed in ? If so then double-tap with three fingers to zoom out, and then make sure that Settings > General > Accessibility > Zoom is switched 'off'

Got the "apple firewire ntsc" choice to show up even if grayed out and "missing" under "audio/visual" menus by recreating choices in Easy Setup under "final cut pro" MENU thank GOODNESS because I was reading horror stories on here about this under another thread with someone trashing preferences, reinstalling and the works and still not getting it to show up...on my search now for an analog/digital converter up at b&h...find it odd that the s video connector wouldn't show the crt monitor when I put both displays through the 3870...I switched it back to see if it worked again when only the one dell monitor display was there and there it is again mirroring the screen display on my desktop...just can't be seen as an "external monitor" in fcp...couldn't find anything specific in the shane ross threads to this. I'm sad the program doesn't just see the s video connection though the 3870 though my computer does fine and will query up at b&h in regard to what might be affordable as far as a digital/analog converter. It's also weird in itself that when I put the two dell monitors on the one card my computer no longer could see the s video crt connection...makes no sense. Will report in later as to what I discover up at b&h as I'm sure there's a world of people out there using this sony crt monitor still even into the upgrades with computers and software so I imagine therein lies the solution. Thanks again and I'll report in as to what hardware might be suggested for me.

  • How connect External monitor to iMac?

How connect External monitor to iMac?

How to do that depends on the iMac variant you have. iMacs have been in continuous production since 1998 in four broad families that are not 100 percent alike in behavior.
Please look at the iMac images and descriptions in the links on this site:
    http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/imac/index-imac.html
and tell us what variant you believe you have.
iMacs from the first through third-generations (G3, G4, and G5 processors) that support an external monitor were not set up to do anything other than "mirroring"--you see on the external exactly what is on the built-in display.
Your description sounds like you have a newer iMac than this forum covers because, starting with the Intel iMacs in 2006, external monitors were allowed to do both mirroring and "extended desktop." The latter is what I believe you are seeing.
Try this first: press the F7 key. On many Macs capable fo using external monitors, this was a shortcut to toggle between mirrored and extended display. If your keyboard has an "fn" modifier key, you may need to press that to get the F7 key to work.
If you have an intel-powered iMac I can ask the Hosts to move you to that forum, which is much more active than this one which is for pre-2006 iMacs.

  • How do I use my late 2011 iMac ( with thunderbolt) as external monitor for laptop/Xbox or other device with hdmi as output.

May be this question has been asked thousand times. how do I use my mid 2011 iMac ( with thunderbolt) as external monitor for laptop/Xbox or other device with hdmi as output. if apple hasn't removed that feature and has just moved that functinoality to thunderbolt then how can I use it. currently there is no laptop available with thunderbolt output. no 3rd party converter available. whats the use of having feature on latest functionality if we cant use it. I wish they would have made one port has mini-dvi and other thunderbolt for backward compatibility untill some vendor comes up with converter.

    It Says :
Mac (21.5-inch, Mid 2011) and iMac (27-inch, Mid 2011) and later computers support Target Display Mode via Thunderbolt to Thunderbolt cable (2 m) when the source is another Thunderbolt-equipped computer.
Name one computer model/vendor which has thunderbolt as output for display + audio. this is so stupid to move to new technology without availbility of its compatible devices.

  • HP Smarttouch 15-n006ed with H4F02AA (hdmi to vga adapter) possible?

    Hi all,
A few days ago I bought a notebook (type '15-n006ed'). When i got home, i noticed the notebook had no VGA-output. I bought the notebook for school and i need to connect it with the beamer (i'm a teacher) so i need an hdmi to vga adapter....
I found information about an adapter from HP on the internet, but my notebook is not in the list of compatible devices. Is it possible to use the adapter anyway or is there an alternative for it?
The type of the adapter is: H4F02AA
    Thanks in advance!

Yes an HDMI to VGA adapter will work fine. Keep in mind it will not carry audio but neither did your old vga connection so I am assuming it is not a problem.
You would find an HDMI to VGA at any Best Buy or you can order on one amazon.com such as here:
    http://www.amazon.com/BestDealUSA-Adapter-Converter-Laptop-NoteBook/dp/B007PLL4CK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8...
Connect the projector and use the Windows key at the lower left of the keyboard and the p key at the same time and it brings up a "projector" console that lets you easily switch from laptop to projector to laptop + projector.

  • AppleTV 2g connected to HDMI to VGA adapter

I connected my AppleTV to my TV via a HDMI to VGA adapter. On power gives no signal and display a message "Out of Range", to connect another device with the same adapter works properly.

    OK, thanks. Just one question.
I could get the Kanex ATV pro in Mexico, because the adapter I have now cost me much to get it, and almost not many options.

  • Can i connect ipad 3 to aprojector throught vga adapter and can i then mirror keynote presentations

can i connect my ipad 3 to aprojector throught vga adapter to mirror keynote presentations

I don't know if there is a Dock-To-VGA Adapter in the Store, but there is a Dock-To-HDMI-Adapter.
Newer projectors have an HDMI-Input-Slot. (30$ Adapter +10$ HDMI-Cable (if it doesn't exists)
    You also could buy on top a HDMI-To-VGA-Adapter (30$ Adapter1 + 30$ Adapter2 + 10$ VGA-Cable (if it doesn't exists))
An deluxe solution would be an Apple-TV
    + HDMI-Cable
    or + HDMI-To-VGA-Adapter + VGA-Cable
now you can use AirPlay by setting up an adhoc WLAN from your iPad which the Apple TV can use.
Cause I have an Apple TV, I take that with me with the adhoc WLAN setup of my iPhone.
All settings are done, so it's only a plug in at the room where to hold that presentation. Wirelessly from my iPhone Keynote-App via AirPlay to AppleTV (Mirrow or as second screen, with seeing notes and controls on my iPhone) and from Apple TV to the projector.

We are not Apple, just end users like you. That said, I do not see any such items among these listings on the Apple store:
