Monitor Sessions can't see most sessions?

Symptom: Session Monitor nearly always displays “No text available” for a session’s current statement.
Diagnosis:
1.     I can’t see SQL for most sessions, even if I login as user SYS with the SYSDBA privilege.
2.     Manual says:
Monitor Sessions: Displays the status of one or more sessions, using information from the V$RSRC_SESSION_INFO view, which shows how the session has been affected by the Oracle Database Resource Manager.
3.     When connected as system, I can select from the table Session Monitor uses, both on the server and via SQL Developer:
SQL> select count(*) from V$RSRC_SESSION_INFO;
50
4.     In comparison, TOAD can display SQL for any user if I connect as user system . Run side by side, TOAD displays SQL for sessions that SQL Developer won’t display.

Might be that TOAD displays the last executed statement rather than sqldev's current executing statement?

Can't see v$session in forms 10g trigger?

Forms 9.0.4 against 10g database.
I'm playing around with finding out who has a row locked so I can trap that annoying "could not reserve record" message that just generates calls to me from confused users.
Anyway in the process of trying different things, I find that when I try to select from v$locked_object or v$session, in either a block level trigger, a program unit or even a library at compile time it fails with "identifier v$locked_object must be declared". It seems forms cannot see the view. I can select from this view just fine via SQL/Plus or Toad with the same ID.
What gives!? I mean, if I have rights to select from the view why can't I get to it from forms?

Are you sure you know who locked the record? I created a table and inserted some records. 2 were marked for deletion by 2 separate users and a third user also tried to delete one of those records. Then I ran the first query in the metalink article and couldn't differentiate between the 3 records except for username. The other columns in v$locked_record don't help either.
On heavily used tables you're unlikely to be able to pick out a particular blocking session so you'll have to resort to telling the users that 'someone' is locking their record. So you'll still get the phone calls. The voodoo doll won't actually help but it might make you feel better about it. A healthy cynicism does the trick just as well.
As for why forms won't compile, I can't help. I assume you are using the same logon credentials?

Can't See Most Recent Episodes Without Subscribing?

I'm experiencing a couple weird issues with my weekly podcast in iTunes, NF Show.

1. When you go to the show page in iTunes, it shows ten episodes, but not the ten most recent episodes. Instead, the newest episode listed is from over a month ago. People are going to the page and claiming that iTunes doesn't have our last five episodes. Yet when I subscribe, I can see and get access to all the episodes. Is there any way to correct this so the iTunes show page actually shows the ten most recent episodes?
2. Previously I posted this URL for people to get to the show on iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/nf-show/ But when you go there, you now get an error message stating the show isn't available in the U.S. That's really weird since the show is produced and hosted in the U.S., and the link worked before. Now, https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/nf-show/id829116093?mt=2# seems to be the only way to get there. Any idea why?

Thanks so much for your insight, Roger. I've resigned myself to waiting to see if it will resolve itself, but now I seem to have an even worse problem that has developed: my podcast no longer seems to be "available in the U.S. store". When I do a search for it on Google, the URL for it now includes a "/ca/" for Canada, but that also doesn't work. Occasionally when trying to access it from the U.S. store, it says it's not available in that store but in another country's, and when I confirm to try retrieving it there... it also says not available.
I'm not sure what changed to cause this issue. Strangely, I'm personally subscribed to the show in iTunes, and I'm still getting the latest episodes, but when I try to go to the show's information page from my subscription, it says it can't get there due to a "temporary problem." And now, I just updated my iTunes to the latest version and the subscription is blown away. Have you heard of something like this happening before, or any idea what's going on?

ITunes can't see Aperture Library - iMovie can't see most videos in Aperture Library

Issues:
Nearly all of my videos in the Aperture/iPhoto library do not show up when I select iPhoto library option in iMovie and iMovie is unable to locate them in any other way.
iTunes does not recognize my Aperture library, and I get the following message:
"Your Aperture Library could not be found. Open the preferences window in Aperture and enable the preference to share previews with other applications."
After reading through forums and multiple Genius Bar appointments here is most of what I have done:
Created multiple new Aperture libraries, selected them in Aperture, rebooted, switched back and forth - Note: iTunes DID recognize the new blank libraries
Booted Aperture with the Command + Option keys and run all three options to repair permssions and even rebuilt the database
Booted Aperture with the Option key and selectedthe library I was using all along (this worked for someone in a forum)
Opened iPhoto (not Aperture) and selected an option to share photos
Run "Verify Disk Permissions" many times under Disk Utility
Run "Repair Disk Permissions" many times under Disk Utility
Reinstalled OSX
Reinstalled Aperture
Reinstalled iTunes
Run a virus and malware scan (no issues)
Verified that Aperture was set to share previews and had a Genius go through all of my options to ensure they were correct in iTunes, Aperture, and iPhoto
Have ran "Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs" from the Command + Option + R recovery partition multiple times. Each time it just hangs for hours, the latest attempt ran for over 24 hours before I finally stopped it.
Oh yes, and I found and deleted the file com.apple.iApps.plist
None of these things fixed either of my issues. According the the Genius at my last appointment, now I have to call Apple Care and pay to get support. I must have misunderstood what the Genius Bar was about when I bought my Mac and why I purchased the One to One training. Before I call Apple Care, I was hoping someone might have run across this and can help me.
I asked the Genius if I now need to just create a new Aperture Library and move all of my content to it (that was the last resort for someone in a forum); however, he was concerned that even if this might work that I probably have deeper permission and/or other issues that need to be addressed and that doing so would not fix the root cause.

After loading iTunes update 11.1 can't see most TV shows in iTunes lib

Updated to iTunes 11.1 yesterday. Now can't reliably see content from my iTunes library on my Apple TV. Music and movies seem ok. TV content displayed changes every time I display it. Podcasts don't display at all even though I have 4 unmatched episodes.

My 1st gen Apple TV cannot sync movies from the desktop (digital copies from blu-ray discs), as well as new TV shows bought from iTunes Store, it all happened after itunes 11.1 upgrade. I noticed that the iTunes Extra materials from the movies were synced but not the movies themselves.
Old movies/TV shows purchased prior to 11.1 have no issue deleting or adding to ATV, anyone has same issue?

Error Records in session, go to SM35, select session name and click on log button, we can see there error records,
In Call Transaction We have function module "Format_Message" to see error records and successful record.

Newbie question: Can't see session bean in business operations after deployment

Hi,
I've just deployed a session bean (using WLS 7.0) sucessfully, but I can't see
the deployed EJB in the business operations in studio. Am I suppose to update
something on the integrator side that references the EJB? Or is there something

I can't restore a previous session (it instead recovers the session before) of my Tabs and my home page keeps being reset to firefox

Over the last few days (since i updated to the newest version of firefox) i've been having problems. I usually keep open quite a few tabs that are invaluable to me that I need, they contain vital information i've been needing for research and I can't afford to keep losing them!. I'm used to exiting firefox when i turn off my computer and them saving for my next session when I open firefox back up. For some reason now, if i turn off my computer, when i turn on again and go into firefox to restore my previous session. it will restore the session prior to my previous session but not my previous session.
My default setting was to resume the Firefox session from where it was when I last exited Firefox that I set. The settings are all the same as they was before I updated firefox and I had this problem, so it is set to remember my history. I'm really not that tech savvy so i really don't know if it was teh update that caused it but it seems around the same time. Also, every single time. it sets my home page to firefox (it is usually google)) it will only remain google if i change it back and remain for the day until i restart my computer.
I'd be most grateful to any hint that might solve this problem. Thank you for your attention. I really appreciate the input! thanks everyone in advance!

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox profile folder that store session data.
Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox profile folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost and you will have to recreate them (make a note or bookmark them if possible).

Ah, it has been mentioned daily esp since iOS 5 / iTunes 10.5 but has always been there as an issue.
Order of attempts:
Repair the installers
Uninstall EVERY Apple component (auto and manual)
Services: Restart all 3 Apple items (AMS, Bonjour, iPod)
I* always do the last almost, then launch iTunes, and only then connect iPod.
IF you see a yellow alert in Devices and Printers or in Device Manager, then I could find NO WAY to fix or repair other than a clean OS. Something messed up the device driver support.
If/when Windows asks "what to do when it detects iPod"? don't chose any default action, to me, based on hunch and 3 PCs, that seems to mess AMS up for some reason.
Tried with Windows 7 64-bit Pro and Home Premium, and also Deve Preview 8 (which other than the inability to update iOS to 5.0 seems to run better -- except when it comes to AMS thing! so seems Apple is not on the same page writitng drivers.

Javascript to JSP question...Can javascript function set session attributes

i have a web app that, on one of its pages, displays "tabbed pane" as an image map at the top (a la amazon.com). my problem is this: each "logical" page contains separate forms that all use the same javabean. in other words, imagine that the tabs represent an account maintenance web ui for an on-line record store. the first tab might be labeled "General," the second "Contact info," the third "Shipping Info." Each uses the same account bean and displays portions of its properties relevant to the tab at hand. what i want to do is allow a user to enter the account maintenance ui, update info on the first tab, click on tab two and have the request with the changes sent to a processing jsp. yet, since each "tab" is actually a separate URL to another page, how do i get the updated info on the first tabe without adding some sort of "SAVE" button on each tab. ive considered using javascript, but dont know how to get the request params out of the first tab whn i click on another tab. is it possible to include an "onClick" function in each URL that "grabs" the updated form fields off the preceeding tab? can a javacript function set session attributes in jsp?

wow, you've created one big mammy-jammy tool.
first, javascript cannot access, set values to the session, without having to post to another JSP. javascript is great for manipulating objects, layers, form values, etc.
you have 2 issues [if i understand correctly]:
1) you need to able to save user info for a specific tab without having to reloading the page.
---you can create a form for EACH of your tabs and POST all the information to a hidden IFRAME or LAYER for NN4. that hidden IFRAME / LAYER will load a JSP page which with all the parameters you posted to it. or you can build a FRAMESET and target that document["frame-name"].src with that same JSP.
2) handling when the SAVE INFO action should happen: hence some javascript event handler: onMouseOver, onClick, etc
---i don't know the dynamics of your tabs, but if store which tab was clicked on last, then if the user clicks on some other tab, javascript can submit that FORM to a JSP [see condition above]
you have an interesting tool. can i see?

How to set a limit on the number of processes a session can start?

I have an Oracle db version 10.2.0.4 running on Solaris 10. My parallel_max_servers parameter is set to 650 and the processes parameter is set to 700. But I don see one session that is spawning 129 processes and another one that is spwaning 65 processes. Is there a way to limit the number of processes that a session can spawn?

check processes
$ ps -ef | grep $ORACLE_SID|wc -l

My parallel_max_servers parameter is set to 650 and the processes parameter is set to 700.
PARALLEL_MAX_SERVERS
specifies the maximum number of parallel execution processes and parallel recovery processes for an instance. As demand increases, Oracle increases the number of processes from the number created at instance startup up to this value.
Do you use query with parallel?
example:
-> create table xxx PARALLEL (degree 5)
-> select /*+ PARALLEL
if you don't use parallel on execution processes... so, your processes not increase ;)
By the way your db have limited proceses= 700 (Dedicated Server Processes)
