My iPad mini is just over a month old. I charged it this evening and it became very warm and will not turn on. I tried to reset it to no avail. I am pretty ticked off about it.

Your iPad has a one year limited warranty.

Plug your iPad into your computer, open iTunes, and click Restore. This will reset your iPad to factory settings, so make sure everything important is stored safely. Once the restore is complete, do NOT restore from your backup.
If you still have problems, take the iPad to the Apple Store or another AASP (Apple Authorised Service Provider). If you're still within warranty, any service will be of no cost. Check your serial number here or find your receipt.

I plug my 1 month old iPad mini retina into a uk plug socket using the out of the box charger, it charged from 0-27% in 3 hours and now refuses to charge at all. Any ideas are more than welcome!!!

I have come home to find it is not charging at all, when turned off when I plug the powered cable in it does turn on as if it is receiving power but it does not charge.
It is 1 month old and hasn't experienced heavy usage as such.

Why does my 5 month old iPad not hold a charge anymore

I have had this iPad for 5 months and it now only work if it is plugged to the charger in the wall socket. When I plug it to the computer to sync the computer cannot download the driver or power it on. I changed the charge card to see if it had a short or something, but iPad does the same thing with new charge card. It will not come on at all if it is not plugged. And when it is plugged to the charger in the wall socket it will recharge and then come on. What is the problem? How do I fix it?

take it into your local apple store and have them look at it. the 30 pin port on the iPad can go bad.

Hi, this feels like a dumb question but when i plug my iPad into the 10W adapter directly into a wall outlet, the message 'not charging' appears next to the battery percentage. What am I doing wrong? Thanks everyone! I decided to leave it plugged in and it seems to be charging but it still says 'not charging' in the top right corner next to the battery percentage. It seems to be charging slower than usual though. It was at 44% around 10am and at 2 pm it's at 66%. I don't see the lightning bolt through the battery icon like I normally would. what would cause that? I really appreciate all of your help! Jeannie

Have you tried a soft-reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Specifically, you might try the following:
iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive
If you see the image below, charge the phone with an iPhone USB power adapter for at least 15 minutes.
You should see this image when iPhone begins to charge:
If the screen still displays the low-battery icon, try turning iPhone off and then on again.
If the issue persists, try resetting the iPhone while connected to the iPhone charger.

And before I forget, we reside outside of the US, and it is difficult to have the unit shipped back to the US so that the guys at the Apple stores can look at it.

Ipad mini retina keep rebooting after restored the old iPad mini's setting from iCloud

Today I buy a ipad mini retina and I found after I restored the setting in iCloud which was stored by my old ipad mini's setting(restore with old ipad mini by iCloud), finally found the ipad minie retina keep rebooting - show apple logo, blue screen appeared and apple logo appear.
I connect the ipad mini retina to my Mac book pro, and found that itune shows the name of the ipad mini retine is my old ipad mini's name... I think some thing damage the boot code and cause it keep rebooting,

Well my problem is now solved, both devices are bricked, Apple Store replaced both devices today, After talking with my daughter had the iPad mini was charging and it updated iOS8.1.3 and then bricked, tried all the things you suggested with both devices. Yes, I agree about not letting my devices die, this was the first time my phone had died in 5 months but I firmly believe iOS 8.1.3 was the cause of both devices demise. Apple checked both devices and promptly replaced both in about 30 minutes. I hope this is not the way Apple is planning on continuing with software updates. I have 10 apple devices and have been a strong supporter of their company, but these kind of half done updates are the reason I removed all Microsoft products from our household 7 years ago!

Could be the charger, the cable or possibly the iPad.
Plug the cable into your computer. It should say "not charging" (it really is charging, but very slowly). If it does, the cable is good. Does the charger feel warm?
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
And this - Unplug the charger from the iPad and then replug. May resume charging.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
