Moto g internet isn't working

I had bought 1 gig of additional data after I activated my moto g in july.  going by the amount of non wifi data I've used on my phone I should still have data available on my phone where the additional data package is good for 90 days or until I've used up the data but since about August 26/27 I haven't been able to access the internet except for when I am connected to a wifi network and this is even after buying another data package thinking that it would help.
my plan comes with 500mb and I bought an additional 1gb with it being a combined total of 1.5gb and have only used 511mb due to not being able to connect using the 3g that the phone has.
Can anyone help?  I've tried turning the phone off; I've tried turning on airplane mode and my data limit warning is set at 2.0 gigs.

  • My internet isn't working

    Ok, so I have a MacBook that I use all the time.
    Right now, I'm away from my home wireless network, and am attempting to use someone else's. I use several different wireless connections between home, school, and other friends' connections and I've never had any problems connecting. Now, with the connection I'm trying to use, I can connect to the network but I can't actually connect with Firefox, Mail, or anything else that require internet access.
    The device I'm using is a Sprint Mifi2200. The device works with the normal computer in this household (a desktop running Windows 7). When first attempting to access the network, AirPort would connect, but it would not prompt me for a WEP regardless of showing that it was a WEP protected network, and then nothing would work. After some fiddling and an epic quest for the WEP key, I managed to supposedly log in correctly. AirPort again says that I'm accessing the internet but nothing works: not Firefox, not Mail...
    I'm highly confused and wondering what on Earth could be causing these problems. Any advice?

    It sounds like you have access to the router, but not the internet, so you are half way there.
    This first thing I would check is to see what the internet settings at the household are and match them on your computer. I am thinking that the DNS Server settings will probably be the settings that are different as you seem to be able to access the router, but not internet. These settings need to be either added or removed from your Mac settings.
    Do you have access to the household W7 computer? If so, go to
    *Start > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Centre* (or Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Centre depending on how it is set up)
    Then on the left of the Window select *Change adapter settings* > Right-Click on the active Network connection and select Properties
    Here you will be presented with the IP settings and DNS server settings for that computer.
    Are the both set to Obtain Automatically, or are their manual settings there?
    If everything is Automatic, then the incorrect settings for that location are probably on the Mac settings.
    If Manual, the settings you will be most interested in are the DNS Server settings, but if the IP are also set manually, you should take not of these too. Write all these settings down.
    Now on the Mac
    *System Preferences > Network > Advanced*
    Select the DNS Tab and enter the same numbers as you found on the W7 computer
    If the IP settings were manually selected on the W7 computer, select the TCP/IP tab on the Mac, change the configure ipv4 selection to Manual if its not already.
    Enter the *IPv4 address* the same as the W7 IP address, except for the last number, make that different, eg W7 IP 192.168.0.1, make the Mac 192.168.0.3 or similar
    Enter the *Subnet Mask* the same as the W7 and also the *Default Gateway*
    If the settings on the W7 computer were all set to Automatic, then check on the Mac that these settings are OK. If there were no DNS settings on the W7 computer but are on the Mac, remove them from the Mac and see if you get Internet then.

  • Sees connection, but internet isn't working

    Hi, folks! I hope you can help me with this problem my macbook is having.
    Sometimes it does this thing where it sees the connection (bars show) but when I try to use any program that requires an internet connection (Safari, Firefox, iTunes store, or iChat) it doesn't work, doesn't connect. It used to work fine, just suddenly started doing this. I have not changed any of the settings or the IP address.
    This has been a recurrent problem since I got the laptop, and using it just sort of randomly starts working again after a couple days. Now it has been a couple weeks and it is still not working, so I would like to figure out what is the root of the problem and fix it! Does anyone have any tips or ideas?

    Sorry, this is my first time doing this ^^;
    I have cable, Roadrunner. I do have a linksys router, but when I try to plug the ethernet cable directly into the computer, the internet still doesn't work. My computer does recognize the signal, but I have no internet. It gives me a "page cannot be found" when I try to load up for Firefox or Safari, and iChat and iTunes store won't load up either.
    The internet was working fine, it just suddenly started doin gthis. It isn't the first time, but usually it just randomly pops back on after a day or two. My other computer is working fine, so I don't think the problem is with the connection.

    I can't get the internet to work using Windows 7 on my iMac. It seems like there is no drivers for the internet hardware. I've installed the drivers from bootcamp/IOS-dvd, but nothing happens. I've downloaded the newest bootcamp with drivers but it can't install since I already have bootcamp.

    Well audio drivers have alwasys had to be updated after installing Windows and installng Apple drivers. Always. Almost asked daily.

    I've tried restoring it to factory settings, rebooting the wi-fi, turning the router off and on again, using different IP addresses, turning the actual iPod off and on again, updated iTunes and the software to iOS 4.3.1 and still nothing. Any suggestions?

    Probably what's going on is that your iPhone IS getting a wifi signal... but that doesn't mean you're connected to the Internet. That is, your router (Linksys or Airport, whatever) has been disconnected from the net and is now sending out an "empty" wifi signal.
    Restart the router and see if that does it.

  • BBM Isn't Working!!

    I brought a Blackberry 8320 off a friend it was on orange so i unlocked it so i could put on o2-UK simcard in, Once i'd done that the BBM hasn't worked when i add pins it says 'pending' and the same when people add me. Also my internet isn't working it only works when i put it on wireless and connect by that which mean i can only use my internet in so many places. Has anyone else had this problem or is it just me?
    I'm new to Blackberrys so at the moment its all about weird to me, So if anyone has any info on how to sort this problem out could they get in touch.

  • 9300 internet is not working at all.

    My internet and bbm and apps that use internet were working perfectly fine and I've had the phone for nearly 2 years, but a couple of days ago they just stopped working. I can text and ring like normal but my internet isn't working. I've switched on my wifi and even when I connected it to my house wifi it still didn't work. I've tried going into the host routing table screen but there are loads to choose from! One is in bold which I'm guessing I'm supposed to be connected to and I've tried registering it and rebooting and it says registration message sent but it still doesn't work! I really don't understand and would really appreciate some help asap!! Thanks!

    Given that result, you need to ring up your mobile service provider for formal support. Only they can look "behind the scenes" at their systems to determine why your BB can no longer properly communicate with their network.

    Try to reset your iPhone:
    Settings>>General>>Reset>>Reset All Settings
    You will need to rejoin all wi-fi and/or bluetooth connections
    You will need to set up your settings of your choice.
    Information (such as contacts and Calendars) and meida (such as music, videos, apps) are NOT affected.

    Ok I think it's a problem with my router. I went to my cousin's house and the Wi-Fi worked there perfectly. I was even able to download many apps. So I guess my router probably can't take in more connections. Oh well thanks anyway.

    I have no idea what the "freezer fix" is, nor why anyone would think temporary exposure to cold will somehow fix a hardware issue with a 100% solid state device.  Also, actually freezing your iPhone may very well itself cause damage.
    If you dropped it and wifi immediately failed to work, the odds are you inflicted physical damage to it - perhaps the antennae connection internally.  You could try a simple reset and see if that helps, but if not, you need to take it into Apple for an evaluation and diagnosis.
    If it has internal damage, since you dropped it, your warranty no longer applies.  Apple does not repair iOS devices, the merely swap them for factory refurbished units (and send your damaged one back to the manufacturer in China for refurbishment or recycling).  You would ahve to pay the out of warranty replacement fee (look on your country's Apple web site, under support for the iPhone for fees).

    The machine is booting up so I wouldn't worry about the PRAM battery.  I set my time off of the internet, since my pram battery is dead & I do not feel like changing it.  click on time to get this panel.

    To sort things out, I'd connect the machine via an ethernet cable to you router. Thus, if it works well via a cable you will have narrowed the problem down to the wifi card.

    You sure the machine is connecting to your router not a neighbors?  Set router to now encryption & see how things work.  Just for testing.

    Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
    Perform a "hard reset" on the device by pressing down and holding the home button and the sleep/wake button for up to 30secs. until you see a black screen with the Apple logo, then release.
    Then test to see if it solved the problem.
