Mountain Lion will not download says The product distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed." Help....
Mountain Lion cannot download, need help. Says "The product distribution file could not be identified it may be damaged or was not signed". What do I do?????
If you have Intego VirusBarrier X6 installed
1. Open /Applications/VirusBarrier X6.
2. Click on the "Surf" button.
3. Click on the "Ad Banner Filter" tab.
4. Click "OFF" next to "Banner advertisement filter".
5. Start the computer in Safe Boot, then restart the computer into normal mode.
If don't not have Intego Virus Barrier installed
1. Verify that the date and time is correct on the computer.
2. Safe Boot once, then restart normally, then try downloading again.
3. Try with a different user account if the issue persists
If the issue persists
Install Lion onto an empty partition (internal or external).
Note: You can Use Disk Utility to live partition the internal drive and create a second partition large enough to install Lion.
Start from the clean installation of Lion.
Download Mountain Lion from the Mac App Store. Note that the original startup disk can be set as the destination for Mountain Lion during the installation process.

i have tried to up date my OS to mountain lion but i get this messageThe product distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed. what is wrong
Quit the App Store if it's open.
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar top of your screen click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration
Click Go then move the NetworkInterfaces.plist file from the SystemConfiguration folder to the Trash.
Relaunch the App Store and try downloading Mountain Lion. -

"The product distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed."
please help! i want to update my computer!!!"Update your new MacBook Pro"?
Well, if your MacBook Pro is new, it already has Mavericks installed and there is nothing to update.
Go to the Menu Bar, and click the Apple logo. Then click "About This Mac." Does it show OS X 10.9 or 10.9.1?
If so you are already running Mavericks. -
The product distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed. is tge message I recieved trying to download Maverick, can you help?
Regards
Andy DicksonSeveral causes for this problem have been reported. Please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when it's resolved.
Step 1
Back up all data.
From the menu bar, select
▹ System Preferences... ▹ Network
If the preference pane is locked, click the lock icon in the lower left corner and enter your password to unlock it. Then click the Advanced button and select the Proxies tab. If any proxy options are selected, make a note of them and then deselect them. You don’t need to change the bypass or FTP settings. Click OK and then Apply. Test. The result may be that you can't connect to any web server. Restore the previous settings if that happens.
Step 2
Rebuild the Spotlight index. If you try to search now from the magnifying-glass icon in the top right corner of the display, there will be an indication that indexing is in progress.
Step 3
Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -
I've seen a few threads on here about how to fix it and the ones I have tried do not work. To make things more complicated I have moved to Japan since buying this computer so I am not wanting to call Apple Support since it will cost me a ton. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!
Press Shift key in boot, go to App Store and download

^^
<Email Edited by Host>Somehow, the download is getting corrupted. First, try repairing your hard drive. Then make sure that you have disabled or uninstalled any anti-virus or internet filtering software. Also, verify that your computer's clock is set properly.
After doing all this, try downloading again. It may be worthwhile to download on a completely different network, especially since that will be the next step if re-downloading on your current network doesn't work.
PS - note that folks won't send you an e-mail directly from these forums, and posting your e-mail address on a public forum is generally not a good idea. -

Mountain Lion will not download to my iMac, "The product distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed."
I have this problem also. I was able to download Mountain Lion to my daughter's Mac Mini without any trouble. However, I can't download this to my MacBook Pro. I have read other sites that suggest VirusBarrier is the problem and recommend turning it off in VirusBarrier>Preferences>Advanced. I have tried this and it still doesn't work, although some report that it has worked for them.

My mountain lion was interrupted during download it says..... "The product distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed." what to do pls help
If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Select "/var/log/install.log" from the file list. Post the messages from the last installation or update attempt, starting from the time when you initiated it. If you're not sure when that was, start over and note the time.
Post the log text, please, not a screenshot. If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into a message.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out by search-and-replace in a text editor before posting. -
The product distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed.
This should also work for Mountain Lion.
