Mouse right-click function doesn't work in Bookmarks (Mac)

I recently switched from PCs to Macs. No problem downloading Firefox and transferring old bookmarks and other settings, with one exception. With the PCs, when I right-clicked a particular bookmark under Bookmarks I got a series of 12 options (from Open, Open in New Window to Delete, Sort by Name, Properties). I used these a lot to delete bookmarks, change names, alphabetize lists, etc. I can now do most of these things under the Manage Bookmarks setting, but when I right click bookmarks now the new bookmark I click on just replaces the one on screen (ie, the right click does exactly what the left click does). I am using two different mice (Apple Mighty Mouse with Leopard, Microsoft Wheel Mouse with Tiger) and the right click function behaves as expected in other programs. Are these mouse right click Bookmark functions supposed to appear with the Firefox for Mac? If so, any ideas how to resolve my problem?

Can someone explain to me why it's possible in Chrome on Mac, but not on Firefox? This is my 2nd biggest complaint about FF on the Mac, only surpassed by missing favicons in bookmarks. Chrome does both very well.

  • In Yosemite, Magic Mouse double-click function doesn't work

On my iMac running Yosemite 10.10.2, the double-click function on the Magic Mouse no longer works. So to open a folder, or anything for that matter, I must always do click-control ---and that doesn't work for everything. For example, I can't double click on a character in Glyphs, so this renders Glyphs useless. And so on... I have gone into preferences to see if anything was amiss in the settings, but everything checked out fine. Is there a fix for this, or do I have to wait for the next upgrade for Yosemite? Help! Thanks... --Royce

What's the answer to this mouse problem, please? Why does my double-click no longer work on my magic mouse since downloading Yosemite 10.10.2 to my iMac?
    What's up Apple?

  • Apple mouse right click function stopped working

After 4 and a half years my Apple mouse right click function on my iMac stopped working.  However the mouse works perfectly on my other iMac.  The apple store said the problem is in the iMac.  Any ideas how to fix this?
    Thanks, jpm3577

First log into another user account on your Mac and see if it work correctly there.  If not boot into Safe Mode, Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode, and try there.  Also try another USB port on the Mac if it's a wired mouse.

  • The right click function has stopped working on by trackpad

The right click function has stoped working?  any idea how to remediate?

It could be as simple as not having the two-finger secondary click function enabled in the Trackpad seetings in System Preferences.

(ITunes 10.4.1.10) How to stop downloads of free news pods?  (right click delete doesn't work)
Also can't scroll down list of downloads so as to pause them.  Would like to delete them as ISP has download limit.
Thanks in advance!  (this seems to be a dumb problem of the software having a life of its own!)

I have been talking to Apple support about this very problem. So far they have asked me to disable both Firewall and Anti Virus software (Windows Firewall and ESAT NOD32 anti virus) - this didn't work. Rebuild my library - this didn't work. Un-install all Apple applications and re-install - this didn't work. I have created a second user account on my PC and from that account (both accounts set as Administrator) I can activate Genius. This suggests to me that the problem is possibly linked to my original User Account, which is the one I always use. I am waiting for the next update from Apple and will post an update if/when the problem is resolved.
What I also notice is about 2 seconds in to Step 2 of the Genius activation, the progress diagonal lines bar stops, and then starts again. As soon as I see this short freeze I know that the activation will fail.

  • Right click function no longer works

Using OSX 10.9.3 on my iMac. Processor 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5, Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3. Fairly new iMac, 21.5 inch, Late 2013. Just now, my right click function on my mouse does not work. I have checked my System Preferences and the right click is checked under secondary click. I did uncheck it, exit System Preferences, and then come in again and re-checked it, but that did no good.
I did restart my computer last night before I quit for the day because recently I uninstalled Sophos Anti-Virus because it seemed to be caught in a loop that was not finished "cleaning up" but that is only change I have made. Aside from the Sophos acting wonky there were no other issues with the machine last night.
The right click does not work in all programs, not just Finder. How can I get my right click function to work again? I use this function quite a lot and would appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you!

Press and hold the Control (Ctrl) key while you click the mouse button. This is identical to right-clicking with a mouse. (Ctrl+click = Right click)
    You can try the following:
•Click on and off the 'right click' checkbox in the Mouse System Preferences
    •Restart in Safe Mode
    •Reset NVRAM / PRAM

  • Right-click functionality has stopped working

Hi everyone, I'm having issues with the right-click functionality in my Captivate project.
    I have:
    Turned off accessibility
Set the Global Security settings so that the files I'm referring to are in a trusted location
Here's the problem - the files I have are sitting on a shared drive. The users and I all have the same versions of Flash Player and Internet Explorer, and we all have our Global Security Settings set to trust the location (because we've put the settings into the environment so it always applies). The issue is, the right-click works for me, but it doesn't work for my users. The only difference is, I have the Adobe Captivate and Flash software installed (hence have the Flash Player that is installed when they are installed) and my users don't.
Can you please help me? Are there any areas we should be looking at?

  • Right click functions no longer work since update

I'm active with Pinterest, and when I would see a photo I wanted to add to a board, I was able to right-click it. There was a choice "Add This", which provided a range of sites -- including Pinterest.
The Add This right-click function is gone since the update. How do I get it back?

    Lemme tell you.
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''

  • I'm running Windows 7 on a Mac, and just downloaded Firefox 6.0.2 for the Windows side. However, my right-click function is not working in Firefox. It clicks on a link instead of bringing up the context menu. Please help.

This is the only program on the Windows side that has this problem. Windows Explorer and Microsoft Office work just fine with the right-click.

My scroll also doesn't work in Firefox -- but does in Excel and Word. This has been intermittent for months now. Usually, if I reboot the scroll would begin working again until for no apparent reason it quits again. Now even the reboot doesn't fix the no-scroll problem. I have Windows Vista. I even did a Firefox Update to 9.0.1.
I don't have that file on my about:config page so this solution won't work for me.
Thanks in advance for any help!

  • SQL Developer: Right-click format doesn't work right with DATE datatype

    Hi All!
Currently I'm using version SQL Developer Version 3.1.05.
Got a question regarding the 'auto-format' of syntax whenever writing in the code editor.
If you take this snippet of code and drop it into a worksheet, then highlight it, right click the mouse, then select "format" it's like it fails to add the proper spacing when it runs into the DATE datatype. I looked all through the : preferences > database > sql formatter > oracle formatting > edit and couldn't find anything regarding the formatting with date types.
Am I looking in the wrong area?? Is this a known bug? Having trouble searching for this exact issue too. I LOVE the format feature, but I hate having to go to each date type and manually spacing it out to make everything look 'clean'. I'm picky I guess :P I can live with it but figured I'd ask.

    Hello,
I put 3.1.07 as you'd suggested. Seems the problem is still occuring for me... probably a user preference though ;)
Open a new worksheet and drop this in, highlight everything, right-click and choose "format". All the keywords (varchar2, number, etc) should align on themselves making it look nice. I have mine set up to line-break after a comma. (I can't get it to format properly as I type it here onto the forums, so added a bunch of spaces to try to mimic it in this view)
    type TEMP_REC
    IS
    record
    LEAD_TIME NUMBER(5,0),
    SCRAP_PERCENT NUMBER,
    CREATED_BY VARCHAR2(30),

    BOM_ATTR3 VARCHAR2(30),
    BOM_AMT1 NUMBER,
    BOM_AMT2 NUMBER,
    BAD_COMMENTS VARCHAR2(1000) );
Now, let's add another field in there, but this time a date/timestamp datatype. If you format it like this you will see that the keywords sort of 'reset' their position after it encounters a date/timestamp datatype. The date type doesn't align properly with the others.
    type TEMP_REC
    IS
    record
    LEAD_TIME NUMBER(5,0),
    SCRAP_PERCENT NUMBER,
    CREATED_BY VARCHAR2(30),

    BOM_FLAGS VARCHAR2(100),

    BOM_ATTR2 VARCHAR2(30),
    BOM_ATTR3 VARCHAR2(30),

Might post a picture next time if that still isn't clear, though I konw folks are leary against clicking links to see screenshots. Might you know what I'm doing wrong here?

  • Right click menu doesn't work

(This issue has been ongoing for several versions now. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, and tried safe mode.)
The right click menu, '''within the menu bar drop down menus''', disappears as soon as I move the mouse. Making it impossible to select anything from it.
'''For example:''' I click "Bookmarks" in the menu bar and get a drop down window of all my bookmarks. I then mouse over a bookmark and right click to get the drop down menu that will let me "Open", "Open in new Window", "Open in new Tab", etc...
As soon as I move the mouse, this menu disappears. I cannot mouse over it to make a selection.
If I don't move the mouse I can use the arrow keys to make a selection and then hit enter.

This solution worked for me (Dell E6320 laptop running Firefox 5 on Windows 7 Pro) immediately:
Go to Options > Advanced > General and uncheck the "Use hardware acceleration when available"
    I found it here: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/764278#question-reply
It's a pity that you might be slowing the rendering somewhat, but the tradeoff is well-worth it...

  • Right click functions does not work in Firefox browser Version 33.

I have just upgraded my Firefox browser to version 33. Now I have noticed that none of the right functions are working. I searched the trouble shooting topic and found an advice where it says to uncheck the "hardware acceleration" option in the "Options" menu under "Advanced-General" button. I tried that solution didn't work.
A workable solution is much needed.

Did you Tried [http://mzl.la/MwuO4X Safe Mode],It Removes Generally lots of Problem without affecting your Downloaded stuffs in FireFox.
To do this Follow this steps :
    * Goto '''Open menu''' >'''help'''
    * Click on '''Restart with add-on disable''' . This opens a new window with two options '''Reset Firefox''' and '''Safe mode''' .
    * Click on '''Safe mode''' .
Now check whether you are able to use right click on it or not.
If this is not works Then instead of '''Safe Mode''' click on '''Reset firefox''' .

  • Rt click, Delete doesn't work for Bookmarks. v-4.0.1

If I choose Bookmarks from the top menu, then rt click on a Bookmark and choose Delete, nothing happens.
    v-4.0.1

    Hello guys,
    thanks for your replies.
Using the full URL doesn't help.
The Firefox's error console shows only one message: 'ReferenceError: test is not defined'.
Replacing the whole node has the same effect as changing the src property. In both cases the script object is shown with the new src value by the DOM Inspector. It seems like the src value is changed but the new file (fcts2.js) is not imported.
Furthermore I have found that the function test() is executed if I add a call of the alert function directly after changing the src value:
    '''fcts.js'''
    function change_src(){
    document.getElementById("myscriptObject").src = "fcts2.js";
    alert("OK");
Doing so, I get two dialogs - the first one is showing 'OK' and the second one is showing 'Hello'.
    Any ideas?

  • Tap function doesn't work, recovered files in bin etc

    Hi
I'm using Mac Book Pro 13' - Mac OS 10.6.8
    1) Every time, I switched on my laptop, the one finger (tap to click) function doesn't work (although I have set it up).
I have to go to 'systems preferences' to set it up again.
    2) Why is there 'Recovered files' in the trash bin each I switched on my laptop? How to get rid of it?
    3) Sometimes when I work using Word 2011, it takes a long time to save (the little icon will be swirling and swirling) and then I had to force quit and lose unsaved info. Why does this happen and how to avoid it from happening?
Pls help me. I'm in the middle of my thesis submission and urgently need solutions to my Mac problems. Thanks!

Reinstall Photoshop. That often fixes the issue.
