Mouse tracking always reset to a specific area point

Hi,
My iMac mouse always reset to a specific area of my screen every time I move it.
I thought that it was the magic mouse tracking that was bugging but it's not : the same problem occurs when I'm using the ScreenSharing app with my computer on sharing mode.
I tried to restart the computer, empty the PRAM after unplugging the computer but nothing worked..
Here's the specs of my iMac :
iMac 27-inch, Late 2012
3,4 GHz Intel Core i7
32 Gb of ram
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 Mb
OS X Yosemite 10.10.1
Someone could help me please?

Everything is ok finally : I haven't seen that the pen of my graphic tablet was layed down on it..! -_-

Mouse tracking speed always reseted

when i plug out my mouse (razer deathadder) then use the trackpad only and plug the mouse in again the tracking speed ist always reseted to the 4th bar.
why is that happening and how can i make the os the save my setting?

ps: apple i hate you for removing the possibility to shut down the trackpad while mouse-use. it is so annyoing while typing. saussage fingers helps a bit but i want the old option back!!

make a new user account and log into it. does the same thing happen there?

they didn't remove it. they just moved it. this option is available in system preferences->universal access->mouse&trackpad.

Mouse tracking resets on login

My mouse tracking resets to the highest speed whenever I login. I then have to go back into the settings pane EVERY time I login to bring the speed down. How do I fix this?

The preferences file for system preferences is probably corrupt.
Navigate to:
(your user account)/Library/Preferences/
and scroll down to a file called com.apple.systempreferences.plist
drag it to the trash and either restart your computer or sign out and then back into your user account.
A new preferences file will be generated. All your system prefs will be reset to their defaults so you'll have to re enter them.

Mighty Mouse tracking issue while downloading files

Hi everybody ...
I'm the owner of the Wireless Mighty Mouse... For about 2 months I'm recognizing a strange behavior.
When I do start a download via Safari (I'm connected to the Internet via Wifi 54Mbits (2,4 GHz)) the mouse tracking start to bucking. During the download no fluent motion occurs. After the download finished the bucking stops and the tracking flows seamlessly. Does anyone have the same problem? I'm not quite sure what the exact problem is but could this behavior result from the connectivity frequency of bluetooth and wifi? And please don't tell me to reset my keyboard or my mouse. I already did that. I also updated to the latest official software update for bluetooth.

I have the same problem, but mine usually shows up when I have MS Word opened for a while. It is as if there is some other process cycling that interferes with the tracking. Sometimes it shows up as a major lag (cursor stutters and moves a little bit for a large hand motion) or the cursor jumps way across the screen. It isn't always when MS Word is opened, but more frequent when it is (occasionally with Pages too). Changing batteries doesn't help, changing surfaces doesn't help. After some time, the problem resolves and mouse moves smoothly again, for a while. This has been more of a problem in the last few months than before.... was the Bluetooth driver changed? Does it have anything to do with a cache that is used before changes are saved?
Where is the Bug Report link... I can never find it. Just put it right on the Support page please, BIG.

Mighty Mouse tracking issue

I have a new MBP, and I purchased the MM at the same time. Even with the settings all bumped up (tracking, etc), the mouse would not track with the cursor. Specifically, to get the cursor to move an inch, I had to move the mouse perhaps 3 inches. When I took it back, I was told it was supposed to work that way, that I was moving it too slowly and I needed to whip it around to get tracking on track.
So, I returned it and got a bamboo pen thingy. It works just fine, but I miss having a mouse. So, I'm asking, are the MM's really supposed to work that way? The slower I go the more I have to move it to get the cursor to move?
Appreciate any feedback, opinions, facts, beer, whatever you might have to help.

The problem is the acceleration curve algorithm in OS X. It ***** and people have been complaining about it for years. Older versions of OS X had a normal curve but at some revision they changed it (years ago). It's hilarious watching potential customers in the apple store pick up that mouse and drag it, pick it up, drag it, pick it up, etc. It just doesn't bother most people I guess. Thank god for the bluetooth trackpad or I wouldn't have bought this iMac, it would have been unusable.
Apple engineers, if you're listening, would you please put a check box in the mouse prefs to allow users to select a curve profile that's identical to what's used in every other OS, some of us just can not adapt to the OS X default curve profile.

Zoom, mouse tracking and exposé

The problem considering mouse tracking that stops working when expose pops up, has already been known for a few years. Apparently it has been passed on to the accessibility team too as you can read on this old forum page.
But since then nothing has changed. For me, and I sincerely hope I'm not the only one, it would be a considerable step forward in usability of OSX if this problem could be solved. Are there solution for this problem atm?

Tracking has always been a problem, either not tracking, or jumping. I sure hope that apple is looking into this for ways to improve it. I've also reported this several times in various programs.

Magic Mouse battery always shows 100%

Since upgrading to Mac 10.6.7, The preference window for the magic mouse always shows 100%.
After installing MagicPrefs free drivers, (because Apples' sensitivity settings suck), MagicPrefs show
a more accurate level of 84%. What gives here Apple? Are you letting the competition beat you at
your own game? I'm getting disgusted with Apple's lack of support, fixes and updates to reported problems.

From my troubleshooting, it seems it's specific to the individual mouse.
I have two Magic Mice on my desk, one for a MB Pro and one for an iMac. The "trouble" Magic Mouse, which always shows "100%" AND frequently disconnects, did so in 10.6 and 10.7. on my MB Pro.
I thought maybe the Bluetooth module on my MB Pro was bunk--so I swapped mice and took the "stable" Magic Mouse on the iMac and paired it with my MB Pro--no problems. The "trouble" Magic Mouse, formerly on the MB Pro, now on the iMac--exhibits the exact same problems--it seems to be the specific mouse, not the OS or Bluetooth modules on either host computer. Hope this helps. I guess I'll be making a trip to the Apple Store to see if they can fix/replace my "trouble" Magic Mouse...

Pinning an object to a specific area

Hey Muse Team,
I was wondering if I could pin an object to a specific area of the website. In my case I have a defined area for the website and would like to pin an object so as to if someone opens the page in a smaller sized browser than the page itself the object is still visible, but if the have a much larger browser than the page itself, the image stays inside the page and not surpass it.

You can also edit the XML that defines a motion effect, but know that those movements are always relative to the original place of the object.

How to mask out specific area in a specific time?

Hi,
I want to make a mask on a specific area of the footage in a specific time. I drew the mask and all the frame went black,so I clicked on Mask-> invert and only the specific area I masked went black,which is exactly what I wanted.
Now I want to make it happen in a specific time, not on all timeline, but I can't find a way to do it. I thought about lowering down the mask opacity to 0% and a frame later bringing it to 100%, but if I lower down the opacity of the mask, it lowers down the opacity of the whole frame, same as
lowering down the opacity of the frame by intention, which seems weird, cause I did inverted the mask, and as I understand it, it should affect the opacity of the mask and not the whole frame...
any ideas...?

Put a copy of the footage on the timelime below the one you masked. Use opacity like you doing and it will reveal the track below.

In need of a Mighty Mouse Track Ball

Something small and hard, fell in the mouse track ball area and while i was pressing it (upside down) on a piece of paper to clean it, that little hard piece of dust, carved the surface of my track ball making it unable to scroll without jumping around!
So im now in the need of purchasing a new ball and replacing it! Does the ball as a part exist? Because i can't find anything on ebay! Any help?

i was hoping to use an HTML snippet to accomplish this on iWeb. i've spent several hours on google, and this forum too but found NOBODY addressing this:
i need to create a hyperlink from MY website to an external url. the external page needs to open at a very specific area on the page. i see that this is done on hand-coded websites.
most iWeb discussions were about hyperlinking to lower down on the same page or within the same website where 'anchors' can be used. obviously that can't be done when linking to an external website.

Projector Specific Area or Window

Hi,
It's possible to connect an projector to a macbook pro, and choose only an area to be projected ?
I want this because, i need to show only a window...and work with this...but in the bottom i need some notes... because macbook pro resolution is 1920x1080 and the projector is 1025x768 ... i have space to place the notes window out of the presentation window.
I all ready try extended...but i dont want this...because with this option the only way to see the projector window is looking to the projection area...that is behind me...
Need a solution... so far.. i am using the iPAD with Evernote to have my notes... while i work in the window...but i need the window in my computer for copy-paste operation etc...

Are there any updates on this issue? I'm currently seeing this on a Lumia 822 with WP8.1, and the app has never been published to the store. I've only ever deployed the app from Visual Studio to my device. It worked when deploying the Debug build, then I
tried a Release build, and it crashed immediately upon launch when trying to register the background task, but then I was able to go back to deploying/debugging the Debug build on the device for awhile. I made more changes, and now neither Debug nor Release
builds work--both fail on the BackgroundTaskBuilder.Register() call with the error described in the original question:
"The drive cannot locate a specific area or track on the disk. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070019)"
I've tried changing the Task name during registration, rev-ing the version number of the application, adding the call to BackgroundExecutionManager.RemoveAccess() before BackgroundExecutionManager.RequestAccessAsync(), changing the name of the IBackgroundTask
concrete implementation and changing the corresponding EntryPoint in the package.appxmanifest (as well as in the BackgroundTaskBuilder instance), and changing the package DisplayName to a new reserved name, all to no avail. The only thing I didn't try
was associating with an entirely new app in the app store or paving my phone, as these are both fairly undesirable "workarounds."
Even if this won't affect clients downloading the app from the store, this is a major roadblock during development, as we can essentially only use the emulator to test an app specifically designed to help solve problems involving moving around physically
in the real world.

Airport/freezing/mouse track won't work

Hey guys, I'm wondering if you could help with my iBook G4. I'm beginning to get seriously annoyed with it. I bought it back in September and it was fine up until recently where it has begun crashing. It tells me that I need to push down the power button to power down. When that happens, I shut it down and then I power it back up again. However, when it does load up, Airport cannot be found/does not exist. When I try to run disk utility, or any other program, it freezes. Not only that but the mouse track will no longer respond.
I'm bloody well tired of having to restart it over 10 times. I've updated all the necessary software and hardware on here. Maybe this happened when I updated the Airport software. I am running some third party software, but that hardly crashes the laptop. There are times when it won't respond and I just force quit applications.
I'm really annoyed and I need this laptop to work. I've also found that the build of iBook is loose like it has been altered before being sent to me.
Any help would be necessary. Thank you.

It seems you are encountering a . The cause of a kernel panic could be hardware or software. If your AirPort card is not available after a crash like this, that could be a telling sign. Perhaps your AirPort card itself is loose? A loose connection could cause a kernel panic. You might try taking it out and putting it back in to make sure it's secure.
If that doesn't help, you might visit Dr. Smoke's great FAQ about troubleshooting kernel panics here.

New ones are not that expensive, but I would try running it up and down (vigorously) on microfiber cloth or a towel or something.
If that does not fix it...yes I would buy a new one. I like wireless ones anyway

Mighty mouse - tracking sluggish w/ new MacPro

Set up a new MacPro w/ AirPort and BT with the Apple BT KB and Mighty Mouse. Arrived with dead batteries. With fresh batteries in my office mouse tracked fine. At new location, tracking now unusable. MacPro doesn't seem to support ext antenna for AP or BT, so is there any possible remedy for this poor signal/tracking?
MacPro 2x2.6GHz, 4GB ram, Radeon X1900, 2x500GB SATA HD. MacOS X 10.4.8.

I am facing the same very problem here. It started last monday when I updated the OS and the system requested to restart. I restarted it and then Voala!!! My Magic mouse stopped tracking. Like you I can scroll, click, perform some gestures... but thats all.
I still have 8 months of warranty and as I discussed with "Apple Care Specialist" I should reinstall the Mac OS X overlapping the current system. I did that and nothing..... Then he recomnended me to take my mac to a service center.
I live in Brazil and here the Service Center system is always down. I tried to take my MacPro there three times (iPlace in Shopping Ibirapuera) and I always heard that the system was down and they didnt even try to check it.
So I called the Apple Care Again, this time the Super Advanced Specialist told me to FORMAT my disk and reinstall the system once more.... I had no option and I lost everything in this process....
My mouse worked for few minutes and then..... Ta daaaa!!!... it stopped again...
Then this super Advanced Specialist said that this problem might be related to the firmware and only Service Center can give a look...
That means... DEAD END for me...
I was an apple maniac fanboy until today... I cannot accept that my mouse is not working...
APPLE, please, release a patch to fix this problem to occur again. Fix my Mac without the need to bring it to a Service Center.!!!
