Move music back to computer from DAP JUKE

Hi,
A quick question regarding moving music back to the computer from my old DAP Jukebox. How do I do it's
The "Transfer" button doesn't highlight when?I try using Playcenter 2.0.
I had this problem before a while ago and I think Catherina gave the solution straight away. (But I can't remember what it was.)
Regards,
Kevin

I don't have PlayCenter 2, but do have PlayCenter 3 installed, but the functionality is the same if I recall. Click on the Rip/Transfer button on the side of the box to open the second window. Select the device of origin (Nomad Jukebox) in one window, select your target (e.g. My Computer) in the other window. Highlight the tracks that you want to transfer and this should light up the Transfer button. If you have the drivers installed for your device, along with the MediaSource plugins where applicable, PlayCenter will actually recognize players that were released long after the program had been discontinued. I happened to connect a Zen Micro to get the details for this response and it was immediately recognized.

Connect the phone to your computer and select it on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (on iTunes 11 on a PC you can enable the sidebar via control-S), and then on the right-hand side of iTunes select the Books tab and you should then be able to select and sync the audiobook to your phone - when you have audiobooks on your phone you should get an Audiobooks section in the Music app

  • I use my ipod for audible books downloads. In the past I have been able to move books back and forth from library to ipod according to what I was listening to.  I can no longer retreive books in the library. Any suggestions?

I use  my 6th generation Ipod strictly for Audible downloads.  In the past, I have been able to move titles back and forth from the Ipod and my Itunes library, to control the amount books on the ipod. Recently, an exclamation mark has appeared next to the titles as I try to transfer to the ipod, and the book does not transfer.  Any suggestions on how to regain access to my purchased library?

    1. You did not get an error message telling you that your iPhoto library was getting full. You got a message telling you that your HD was getting full, right?
OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on.
Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially.
Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do.
Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.
Your Library has been damaged from being run on an overfull disk.
How much free space on it now?

After a catostrophic crash how do I download my music back to itunes from my ipod?

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.  Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup, not good, then you can transfer itunes purchases from your ipod: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases

How are you trying to transfer it and what are your setting on iTunes.  I'm not on a computer that has iTunes at the moment so I'm going from memory and similar issue.  If iTunes is set to sync music then I don't think you can select and drag, if set to manual manage music then you can.  Also make sure you are dragging to music on the iPhone.
    Hope this helps

  • Putting music back onto computer then onto ipod

I recently had to wipe my hard drive clean. I backed up all my music from Itunes onto an external drive. After I resolved my computer issues I then downloaded itunes and put my music back into itunes from the external drive. I downloaded a few new songs as well. I went to sync an ipod and only the new songs loaded onto the ipod. All of the songs are in itunes but the old ones won't play, I can't edit them in any way and they didn't load onto the ipod.
I hope I am clear on the problem I am having and hope someone can help.

Do you not have a backup copy?
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases: File>Transfer Purchases
You can also do a forum search, as this asked and answered several times a day.
Zevoneer ( a fellow user) explains the options very well.

The music sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The exception is itunes purchases.  Without syncing:  File>Transfer Purchases.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.

  • Can you get a purchased movies/music back when...

...your computer that the purchases were stored on dies and is not recoverable?
My computer died and most of the movies/music I bought from iTunes were not on my iPhone when it happened. So now I have no idea how to get it back.
    Thanks for the help

You will not be able to get it back. You are responsible for backing up your electronic purchases, and if you fail to do so, it is not Apple's responsibility. On occasion, Apple has allowed for the re-download of a song, but usually will only do so if the song becomes corrupt in downloading it.
Think of it this way, would a record store be responsible if you purchased a CD and you later found you misplaced or damaged it?
Unfortunately, this forum has seen many posts like yours of people losing their iTunes library because of a hard drive malfunction, and no backup was made.
    BACKUP!
    Sorry for your loss.

  • Move music to new computer

I need to move music from ipod to a new computer

You cannot do that using iTunes, except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store.  iTunes syncing is generally in one direction, from the computer's iTunes library to the iPod.  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer song files from iPod to computer.  If you do an Internet search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.  (The CNET article seems to be popular.)
Once the song files are on the new computer's drive, you can add them to your new iTunes library.
NOTE:  Ideally, you should move your complete iTunes library from your old computer to your new computer.  That will preserve supporting data, such as playlists, ratings, and playcount.  iTunes on your new computer will look like iTunes on the old computer.  If this is possible (you still have access to the old computer with its iTunes library intact), you can post back for more info.

  • My hard drive on my macbook pro crashed, can I get my music back on it from my iPhone?

when my hard drive crashed, I lost everything off my macbook.  is there a way to import my music back on my computer from my iphone?

No.  Use your MacBook's backup to restore your files.  (If you don't have a backup, I'm sorry, your files are gone.)

  • Having difficulty using iPod mini to move music to new computer

I followed the article titled "How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer" and I am really stuck. I deleted all the music from my iPod (it's all still on iTunes on my old computer" but the music will not transfer to my iPod so that I can transfer it to the new computer. And, the iPod is not being recognized by the new computer.
Additionally, I cannot restore my iPod - there is some sort of error. Not sure what to do from here.
    Help, please.

  • Some video podcasts won't sync after using iPod to move music to new comput

    Hi -
I used my iPod to move my music (and podcasts) to a new computer (from a PC laptop to a Mac Pro). Now when I try to resync it (on either computer) some video podcasts are not synched from iTunes to the iPod. In some cases, all podcasts from the same subscription fail to sync; in other cases, some podcasts synch and others from the same subscription don't. All of the podcasts that fail to synch are video podcasts.

yeah i'm having the exact same problem so thought i'd up this rather than start a new thread. for me, one particular video subscription won't sync at all, and another is fine apart from three videos. particularly annoying as it took an absolute age to actually download them, and now they won't sync.
    anyone got any bright ideas?
