Move two iTunes accounts onto one computer and keep them separate?

I recently got a new mac os x lion and I need to put my families iTunes library on it. the problem is that one separate account is on a computer, and the other separate account is on an external hard drive. I need both different accounts on one computer and continue to be separate. Im hoping to be able to log in and out of my own account without disturbing the other one. Thanks in advance for the help!

Why don't you create a username (at OS level) for each one of the users?  You can then import the contents of each one of the accounts you mention into the appropriate iTunes.

    Not sure what you mean.
    An account is a user name and password.
    Sign into whichever account you want to use for purchasing.
    Authorize the computer for both account to listen to the content.

  • I have two iTunes accounts on one computer.  Is it possible to share between the two?  If so, how do I do it?

    I have two ITunes accounts on one computer.  One is a classic iPod, the other is for a Nano with a different user.  Is it possible to "share" playlists?  If so, how do I go about doing that?

    videoDVD is a delivery format, normally end of the of the road...
    but, you can convert dvds into something editable, you need 3rd party tools, your options are, in recommended order:
    * DVDxDV (free trial, 25$, Pro: 90$)
    * Apple mpeg2 plugin (20$) + Streamclip (free)
    * Cinematize >60$
    * Mpeg2Works >25$ + Apple plug-in
    * Toast6/7 allows converting to dv/insert dvd, hit apple-k
    * connect a miniDV Camcorder with analogue input to a DVD-player and transfer disk to tape/use as converter

  • We have two iTunes accounts on one computer. Why is my music, apps, etc showing in my husbands account? home sharing is not selected

    We have two iTunes accounts on one computer. Why is my music, apps, etc showing in my husbands account? Home sharing is NOT selected. This recently became an issue when we added additional devices. Now we keep getting each other's apps!

    He intentado creando nuevas cuentas y desinstalando iTunes y volviendolo a instalar.
    Favor de orientarme en la solucion adecuada para el asunto comentado anteriormente.

    Just bought a MacBook Air which I'm sharing with my husband. Is it possible to have two active iTunes accounts on one computer? We both have very different tastes in music and we have our own iPhones that we'd like to update differently. Would be great to have the option to separate our accounts.

    can i have two itunes accounts on one computer

    Hello Barry
    It is a yes and no answer. Yes you can but you cannot have them in the same iTunes library or one of the accounts cannot be associated for 90 days. You would need to have either a separate user or separate iTunes library to have both Apple ID’s on the same computer.

  • Can I Have Two iTunes Accounts on One Computer?

    I have an iTunes account and no iPhone. My wife has an iPhone but has notestablished an iTunes account. Can we open her iTunes account on my computer? I so, do we have to download a second instance of iTunes on my computer to establish her account?

    Can we open her iTunes account on my computer?
    Yes. Log in and out of the iTunes Store as desired, or create a separate Windows user account.
    do we have to download a second instance of iTunes on my computer to establish her account?
    Only one instance of iTunes itself can exist per bootable OS.

  • Two iPhones and two iTunes accounts on one computer

    My wife and I both have identical iPhones and my wife wants to give her laptop to my son. I thought that I could manage her iPhone from the same computer that I manage my iPhone from but I am having issues. If I logout of iTunes and login with her ID, iTunes does a backup of her phone but iTunes displays my apps, not hers.
    I've searched this forum and cannot find the answer although I am confident that we aren't the first to want to do this.

    Are you both using the same Windows login account or separate accounts? It sounds like you are trying to both use the same Windows login account as well as iTunes Library, which is probably where your problem lies.
    I believe (but I haven't verified) that if you create a new iTunes Library for one of the two of you, you can each manage your own music & apps i your respective libraries. If you use separate Windows signon accounts, you can easily manage using different libraries, but it might be a bit more difficult using just one Windows account. All f this assumes you are using Windows since you don't clearly state, but similar could be applied to MacOS.

  • My husband and i both have an iphone 5. we are having trouble using two itunes accounts on one computer

    My husband and I both have an iphone5.  I had mine first and setup my itunes account.  When we purchased his phone we sent up another itunes account but on the same computer.  Now we are running into problems, especially when he wants to set up playlists from his music to his phone and in general with synching.  should we start over with just one itunes account and both use that with the one computer?

    By the sounds of it you have linked Email Accounts, if so this means that you will both recieve the majority of the same Emails, and if you do and you read them on your account (which is linked with your husbands) then they will appear to read on the both of them because they are linked. With the majority of Email providers these days they're Emails are (simplified) in the cloud you could say, meaning that if you read or delete shared Emails then it will do the same on both accounts rather than just the yours.
    I hope all that made sense, sorry that I couldn't be of anymore assistance.. If you havent already try googling your problem - you may find some answers on there

  • How do I move my itunes account from one computer to another comuter

    My computer that has my itunes account is about to die. I need to move the entire account to my new computer. How do I do this without losing all my itunes library? I have several different ipods that access this account.

    One way is to Drag and Drop your  Entire iTunes Folder   from your Old Computer, to an External Hard Drive...
    Then Drag and Drop it to your New Computer...

  • Can there be two iTunes accounts on one computer?

    There is only one computer in my household, and since my daughter received an iPhone, she needs her own iTunes account on my laptop. Trust me, I have no desire to share music with a tween.  Is there a way for each of us to have our own accounts on my computer?  Thanks!

    Create a separate Windows user account, or launch iTunes with the Shift key held down and create a new library.

  • Two Itunes accounts on one computer?

    I am looking to get my mum an ipod shuffle for Christmas, I already ave an ipod nano 2nd gen, with my itunes on the computer, is it possible to set an account up for my mum on the same computer for an ipod shuffle?

    There are a few ways you could do this. You can have multiple libraries in a single account. To create or access a second (or more) library, hold down the Shift key in Windows when launching iTunes. In the resulting dialogue you will get the option to create a new library or navigate to the other Library.
    Note: You can only have one Library open at a time and iTunes will default to the last library opened if you don't use the keyboard command to choose one. This can prove tricky when using multiple iPods, if you don't use the keyboard command you can risk syncing to the wrong library: Using multiple iTunes libraries -Windows
    Another option is to create a separate Windows User account for each person on your PC. Different accounts by definition would give you completely separate libraries. Each account has it's own iTunes folder, Library and iTunes Music folder and you load it with CDs etc just as you did with your original one. The iPod can be set to update however the owner chooses, sync all, manual or sync specific playlists
    I don't use Windows so I can't give you a step by step on that one, however I can point you to another web page which should help you out. You can read about Windows user accounts here:
    Using Windows XP User Accounts
    Another way would be to create a playlist especially for your Mum's shuffle within your own library and set the shuffle to autofill from there instead of a separate library: Adding songs to iPod shuffle - Windows
