Yes, driver MUST be uninstalled or at least disabled (don't reboot!)
Quote from: flobelix on 12-November-14, 04:59:59
After downloading the matching archive first uninstall the Nvidia driver (!) then simply decompress the archive and then execute the included batch file (182.bat in case of NV316MH.182's archive) in Windows by double clicking or via command prompt (must be run as administrator)

Oki, you have NV316MH.181 you can reflash to the latest one NV316MH.184 for your card:
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=250983.msg1442759#msg1442759
to fix some FAN behavior issues
    Thank you.
Does flashing the bios void the warranty? Just wondering.

OC is a plastic lottery. I just got MSI Gaming 780Ti and it handled +250 Core clock and +600Mem clock. Not sure if that is good or bad but in OCCT gpu stress test it gave me around 30fps more compared to stock clocks (gaming mode) yet the card was around 63 with fans at 40% (it is damn extremely cool!!).
Cool the card enough first so it doesnt go above 75. Else the OC might be successful but will throttle due to high temp

  • Msi gtx 970 gaming new vbios nv316mh.186

    On msi-forum.de i have read about NV316MH.186 a new version for 09s/03s/010 card  based on NVIDIA-VBIOS-Version 84.04.36.00.F1 dated 8.1.2015.
    Is this an official release?

    Hi,
I am not Svet, but I hope I could help a bit:

Hello Svet, can you tell me the difference in this new bios ?
MSI doesn't provide changes information unless it's something crucial like sensor bad readings or constant 100% fan issue.
You can ask MSI about it, they might find it out for you (the changes made)  >>How to contact MSI.<<
Quote from: pasdemail on 31-January-15, 19:38:45
And can you tell me where i can find the real bios status version (for check latest bios version without post a message in this forum)
MSI LiveUpdate can tell you this (I suppose it should at least)
Quote from: pasdemail on 31-January-15, 19:38:45
And for downloading bios without use a "dropbox link" but use a "msi.com" link
This vBIOS comes straight from MSI but because certain things can be only accessed by admins then in this case Svet had to download it and upload to dropbox which could've been used for public sharing (the link itself). MSI will surely sooner or later add this vBIOS version to the product page, but first it comes as plain file (which only Admins/authorised people has access to) and into MSI LiveUpdate.

  • MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G VBIOS

Hello, i`m here with boring request and questions
got 2 new cards, enabled SLI. i really like them is it ok if lower card (secondary) uses a little more volts?
also such a fuss with bioses.. so i wanted to know which are latest for my cards? (now got .182 version)
    s/n 602-v316-09sb1411062774
    s/n 602-v316-09sb1411062772
sorry but i got more questions:
how can i update bios for sli? should i just disable (in device manager) second card to flash first, then connect monitor to second card and disable first to flash second? (i hope it makes sense) or i need to disconnect it physically from motherboard? also do i need to uninstall drivers?
huh i hope i wrote it all correctly  thank you in advance

Latest version (NV316MH.185) for both cards is attached. After downloading the archive first uninstall the Nvidia driver (!) then simply decompress the archive and then execute the included batch file (185.bat) in Windows by double clicking or via command prompt (must be run as administrator).
It will flash all compatible cards (so both of your sli setup) one after another. No need to remove a card.

I don't know what the name of the vBIOS I updated from was, but it was the stock version that came with the card so most likely the vBIOS before the one I'm currently using which was downloaded to fix the fans randomly spinning.

  • MOVED: MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G + MSI Z87-G45 incompatible? Noise on speakers

This topic has been moved to MSI Intel boards.
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=184068.0

    Used hardware
    MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G (+ RMA'ed new one)
    Gigabyte 670 GTX Windforce
MSI Z87-G45 Gaming motherboard (with Intel i7-4770K, Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB, and Crucial M500 - 480GB SSD)
Asus P5N32-E with Q6600 and 8GB DDR2 (Going to test this)
    SoundBlaster-Z Audio card
Roccat Kave 5.1 Gaming Headphones (4x 3.5 mm jacks: Front, Rear, Center&bass, Microphone + USB amp/volume control)
    Corsair B600 (600W) PSU (secondary)
    Corsair RM750 (750W) PSU (Primary)
    To summarize
Corsair RM750 + MSI Z87-G45 + Gigabyte GTX 670 + Roccat Kave = really faint noise only when scrolling in browser, in game not heard
Corsair RM750 + MSI Z87-G45 + MSI GTX 970 + Roccat Kave = in game loud and heavy noise + screech when scrolling in browser
    Corsair RM750 + MSI Z87-G45 + MSI GTX 970 + Soundblaster-Z + Roccat Kave = In game moderate to heavy noise
    Corsair B600 + MSI Z87-G45 + MSI GTX 970 + Soundblaster-Z + Roccat Kave = In game weak to moderate noise
Corsair B600 + MSI Z87-G45 + MSI GTX 970 + Soundblaster-Z + Roccat Kave with Mic disconnected = Almost no noise, ifg you listen for it, really faint background noise in game. But well within my acceptable limits.
    Tomorrow I'll try:
Corsair B600 + MSI Z87-G45 (onboard sound) + MSI GTX 970 + Roccat Kave without mic
Corsair RM750 + Asus P5N32-E (onboard sound) + MSI GTX 970 + Roccat Kave with mic
I failed to mention, that the first thing I did was to remove my HD Audio Front panel connector off its header.
So I did some more searches. The noise has something to do with the capacitors on (presumably) the video card. The higher the pitch usually coincides with higher FPS. So the interference must be coming from the video card, as this is the last thing added and probably the main cause.
Both the motherboard & the SoundBlaster-Z pick up the EMI/RF interference. (I am disappointed by the SoundBlaster about this).
I'll test with the older motherboard and see how I proceed from there.

  • REQUEST: Latest BIOS update for MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G card

Hi, I'd like the latest BIOS version for my MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G card. I don't know what the serial number is, I don't have the box anymore. I've attached my BIOS file I saved through GPU-z. Thanks in advance!

    Hi
Check graphics card itself, should have a sticker with S/N. Else it might be hard (or impossible) to provide correct vBIOS.
    Thanks!   S/N: 602-V316-09SB1410116XXX

  • REQUEST: MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G original bios

My S/N is 602-V316-03SB1409075224 I would like to request the original vBIOS that my card came with.
My card had problems with the fans randomly spinning and so I updated to the appropriate bios which was NV316MH.182 and that fixed the problem. However I have noticed since updating that the noise from the card has increased when playing games and today whenever starting any game I get an instant crash and my whole system resets, this happens now even when I'm not playing a game and my computer has been randomly restarting and I know it's a problem with the GPU.
I am worried that it is most likely that the GPU is failing but I would like to try flashing the card to its original stock vBIOS and seeing if that fixes anything. Even if you don't believe the vBIOS is the problem, I would still very much like to have the stock vBIOS for my card. Thanks!
    I'm on windows 8.1 64 bit.
