Moveing average price after posting invoice with different value  than GR

Hello all
I have a question as in subject.
If I will post goods receipt and after this I would like to post an invoice in MIRO with different value than in goods receipt , the MAP on my stock will change about this different???

Hi,
Your MAP will get recalculated as the price difference will change the total value of the stock and the stock quantity will remain the same
MAP=Total value/Total stock
Hope this will help you
Reward if useful

  • Moving average price variance in Invoice verification

    Hello,
I set in sys that the moving average of price variance will be check in tolerance of x% (lower & upper limit) BUT the system ignore it , when I save an Invoice (MIRO) with price that change the moving average price for more than X% the invoice was saved with no W/E massage . I set all massages that seams to be relevant with E but nothing was happened .
What is the way to set the system that in Invoice verification stage it will check the moving average price variance and give an alert or will not let the invoice to be post ???
    Best Regards
    Idit

    Hi,
You can block Invoices using transaction code OMC0
    (a) Use Tolerancy Key VP for your company code
    (b) Fill-up Lower and Upper check tolerance limit %
When a stock posting line is created as a result of an invoice item, the system calculates the new moving average price that results from the posting. It compares the percentage variance of the new moving average price to the old price using the percentage tolerance limits defined.

  • Inventory list with moving average price

    Hi all,
How do I get the list of inventory stock using the valuation method as MOVING AVERAGE.
Iam able to get the list using last purchase price, But how do I get it using Moving average Price.
    Thanks in advance.

Moving average price for item might be different by each warehouse.  Inventory Valuation Report can be used to get the whole picture for any single item by moving average price.
If you want to get more items, you can try this query to see:
    SELECT T0.ItemCode, T1.ItemName, T0.WhsCode, T0.OnHand, T0.AvgPrice, (T0.OnHand * T0.AvgPrice) AS 'Amount'
    FROM dbo.OITW T0 INNER JOIN dbo.OITM T1 ON T0.ItemCode = T1.ItemCode WHERE T0.OnHand > 0
    Thanks,

  • Does moving average price work with multiple valuations?

    Dear All,
I have activated multiple valuations: Legal, group and profit center.
I have activated ML/Actual costing for this multiple valuations too.
Now I have 3 price fields in material master.
Could I use moving average price for some materials types in multiple valuations?
    Thank you,
    With best regards,
    Kamila.

    Hi Kamila,
yes, ML is always activated for all materials in a plant. To use MAP you have to set the price determination of a material to '2':
This is the F1 help of the field price determination:
    Material Price Determination: Control
Specifies how the material price determination should procede.
    You have the following options:
With price control V in activity-based material price determination (indicator2 in the material master), the moving average price is calculated. With price control S, the material is valuated with the standard price and the moving average price is calculated for information purposes.
In single-/multi-level material price determination(indicator 3 in the material master), the valuation price (standard price) remains unchanged and a periodic unit price is calculated for the closed period.
This option is only for materials with price control indicator S,and is only recommended if in addition to multiple currencies and/or valuations, you use single-/multi-level material price determination.
In single-/multi-level material price determination, a periodic unit price is updated for information, but it can only be used for material valuation in the closed period.
    Dependencies
The indicator is only of use if the material ledger is active.
Upon activating a valuation area for the Material Ledger in Customizing, you can enter what type of material price determination will be proposed when creating a material in that valuation area. This proposal will be ignored at production startup: the system automatically sets the indicator to 2 in the material master for all materials present.
If you want to change the indicator for a particular material later, choose Accounting -> Controlling -> Actual Costing/Material Ledger -> Environment -> Change Material Price Determination.
    best regards,

  • Costing material having moving average price

    HI
My client is having business where prices fluctuates a lot and he wants to use moving average price for all materials including semi-finished and finished material.
My question is in this senario how to do configuration of product costing and how will i be able to calculate cost as far as product costing is concerned. client doesnt want to use material ledger.
    Regards
    Invin

    Hi,
You can not carry out period product costing activity if the material has moving average price control.
If you set moving average price control to material master, the following activities control the moving average price
    1. GR (if the value is different from PO price) Entry in MIGO
    2. IR (if the value is different from PO price) Entry in MIRO (invoice posting)
    3. Price change using (MR21 Tcode)
    4. Debit/Credit Material (MR22 Tcode)
Prerequisited for Product costing with quantity structure
    1. Material ledger should be active
    2. Product should be allowed for cost estimate (setting in Material Master)
    3. The master should have Standard price Control in the material master.
If you want to change the price of the semifinished product with moving average price (due to price fluctuation) use MR21 or MR22. But this activity involves lot of human effort.

  • Moving Average Price Tolerance Report

Is there any standard SAP report that can display moving average price variances?  I want to be able to see the percent change in the moving average price after each time that it changes.
The report S_P00_07000139 displays the old moving average price and the new one, but there is no field for variance.  I know that OMR6 sets the tolerance keys to company codes, but is there any record of the VP key tolerance violations?
The goal is to be able to see all of the materials that have a moving average price that changed by more than 10% from its last price.
    Thanks

    Hello, Uuklyph,
if you are not satisfied with  S_P00_07000139l, the easiest way would be to create a query (tx SQ01/02/03) over table MSEG "Document Segment: Material", with custom formula for MAP change, calculating with field LBKUM "Total valuated stock before the posting" and SALK3 "Value of total valuated stock before the posting".
    Kind Regards

Goods Receipts/Invoice Receipts  for Purchase Order
Transaction OMW1 allows you to set whether the Price Control is a mandatory "S" or "V".
V indicate that you want the system to value the stocks with the latest price.

  • Moving average price & Standard price

    Hi every body
For one material some times we use moving avareage price and standard price for that material
Which scenerio we use this & why we have to use this, can any body explain me
    Thanks

    Hi Tarun
Both, Moving average Price and Standard Price are Price Control Indicators.
It Indicates the price control used to valuate the stock of a material.
Standard Price : It is a constant price at which a material is valuated without taking goods movements and invoices into account. It is normally used for finished Products - Fert ( Vlauation Class - 7920)
Moving Average Price : It is a price that changes in consequence of goods movements and the entry of invoices, and which is used to valuate a material.
The moving average price is calculated by dividing the value of the material by the quantity of material in stock. It is automatically recalculated by the system after each goods movement or invoice entry.
It is Normally used for Raw Materials -- ROH ( Valuation Class -3000)
    Rewards points ,if usefull

  • Difference between Standard Pricing and Moving Average Price

    Hi,
Would like to seek some advises on the difference between standard price and Moving average price.
also, how does it affect the account postings differently?
    Thanks

    Standard Price
Materials whose price control indicator is set to S are valuated in Financial Accounting (FI) at standard price.
This is recommended for semifinished products and finished products.
The moving average price is shown as a statistical value in the material master record.
The standard price is normally calculated using a standard cost estimate for the material. The standard price can also be calculated in a mixed cost estimate.
    Moving Average Price
When materials whose price control indicator is set to V are received from in-house manufacturing processes, they are initially valuated with a value you defined (such as the standard price). When you settle, the material stock account is debited with the variances. This results in a new moving average price.
Valuating semifinished products and finished products with the moving average price is not recommended.

    Indranil

  • Moving average price and returns to vendor

    Hello gurus,
I’ve got a question concerning material valuation and returns to vendor.
E.g. we have got 200 pieces of a material with a moving average price of 2 $ each.
Now, what happens if I return 100 of those to my vendor who pays 2.10$ each for them?
In my view, there are several possibilities:
    - Nothing happens, the moving average price is not changed at all, value of the goods is 200$ afterwards.
    - New value of the goods is 400$ - (100 * 2.10$) = 190 $. This would mean that the moving average price is 1.90 $.
    - Last delivered price was e.g. 2.20$, more than 100 pieces were delivered, so the new value of the goods is 400$ - (100 * 2.20$) = 180$, new moving average price is 1.80$.
So my question is: What is standard in SAP?
    Thanks
    Jens

This is what my thought is
When you return the material to vendor then system take the same valuation as your MAP
and when you buy new goods then it will count based on the
e.g. existing stock is 100 and value is 1000 means valuation is 10 a peice
in you but another 100 at 1200 then valuation is 2200/200 = 11
When a material is subject to moving average price control, the system calculates values for goods movements in the following way:
    check this link
    http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_02/helpdata/en/8f/d1de34e4cb2300e10000009b38f83b/frameset.htm

  • Return goods will impact the  Moving average price?

    Hi,
When stock of a material is low,and we return the goods to our vendor from po(movement type 102), the Moving average price may change very large.for example, stock:11 PC, Moving average price:1;return qty(with po 102):10PC,return price:0.5,then the Moving average price bacome to 6. I went movement type 102 can't impact the Moving average price, is it possible?
      Thanks.

    Hi,
This is not possible. As the name indicates, it is the Moving Average Price. When you receive goods / return goods, the system will take it into accoutn & change the MAP accordingly.

  • To post invoice with higher amount

    Hi all,
We want to try out a scenario, where in we want to post invoice with higher amount than PO. This is owing to big lead time between ordering and delivery. (And this is not the case of currency exchange rate changes). Can anyone suggest a solution / FI settings to do Invoice posting.

    hi,
    I see two ways:
    1. You can see the setting for the over posting in the MIRO itself...FOr this go through:
Spro --> MM --> Logistics invoice verification --> define Vendor specific tolerances --> Here you can provide the tolerances as per your requirement...Here check for Automatic accpetence of the positive differences....
    2. You can use the tolerance B1 for the GR where you can post for the more amount , only you get the mail for more amount posted, and use the GR based IR indicator in the po...so taht invoice will be made of the same amount...
Check the path for the tolerance setting:
Spro --> MM --> Inventory mana. and PI ---> GR --> Set tolerance limit --> here enter for new details...
    Regards
