Movie wont play on itunes

Hi guys, I just downloaded 2012 (HD) onto my PC, which is i5, all HDCP compatible, and when I open the film iTunes just crashes, but doesnt say anything. I have tried using multiple other apllications to open it, but they cant and I even tried converting it, but the 'source file cannot be read'. Any help would be much appreciated.

purchased. and it is on my acct so i know i bought it. I dont know if it is formatted wrong or what, but i dont understand how we watched half of it last nite went to bed and then it wouldnt work this morning.

I understand you are having issues with a few tracks in iTunes. The best troubleshooting step may be to delete the song from your library, and re-download using iTunes in the Cloud (if available in your country).

Occasionally, if a song purchased from the iTunes Store on a Mac or PC was not downloaded completely, the song may not play back fully. The song may abruptly stop during playback, and iTunes may start playing the next song in your library or playlist.
Resolution
If iTunes in the Cloud is available in your country, try the following steps to resolve the issue:
1. Delete the purchased song that is exhibiting the problem from your iTunes library.
2. Click on the Purchased link in the iTunes Store to view your previously purchased music.
3. Download your previously purchased song from this list.

9 out of 10 DVD movies wont play

Hi all,
9 out of 10 DVD movies wont play on my mac G5. They worked a couple of months ago. And as far a I know, there is nothing wrong with my DVD writer, cause i can read/write data, audio and self made dvd movies.
The dvd movies themselves are the right region code...
Also, I just bought a 23" Cinema display with one dead pixel, should I return it?

I don't know much about the PPC G5 since I have a MacPro and you have posted here in the MacPro section but I'll try to help anyway.
1) Did you update DVD player?
2) It happed to me a few times that my MacPro would not recognize DVDs after being on for wuite a prolonged time with other apps. I simply restart the Mac and everything comes back to normal.
3) Has your problem started when you got your Cinema Display? I heard you need a higher end Video Card to be compatible with the Cinema Displays but I'm not certain if it applies with all the Cinema Displays.
4) If you have a dead pixel on your expensive Cinema Display, I would certainly return it since they cost so much.
5) Have been able to watch movies with another monitor hooked onto your G5?
PS: Have you tried posting in the PPC G5 section?

It's a newly purchased film, and what happens when you tap on it in the Videos app to try and play it ?
If you haven't already done so then you could try closing the Videos app via the phone's taskbar (closing an app) and do a soft-reset (press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, ignoring the red slider, after which the Apple logo should appear) and see if it plays when the phone has restarted and you re-open the Videos app.
If it doesn't then depending upon what country that you are in (films can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting the film from the Videos app and redownload it via the Purchases tab in the iTunes store app (or delete it from your computer's iTunes library and redownload it via Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page and resync it to your phone).
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download films or if the redownloaded version doesn't play then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com

How come my videos wont play in itunes on my computer?

I tried to play back my videos I bought from the iTunes store and the ones I already had in the library. No videos (tv shows or music videos) just wont play. And I'm on a PC not a Mac. Thnx.

Im an amateur boxer and one of my fights was videoed for me and put onto dvd, i then extracted it from the dvd and converted into a file using windows movie maker, but the file wont play through my itunes and therefore i cant put my fight on my phone ! I dont get a error message saying it cant be played or anything, it just doesnt come up ! When i click open with itunes, itunes will load and then just show my library ?! Any suggestions ? Thanks

I mean that in the app store, the description of the app tells you what kind of hardware (what model phone) and what version of iOS the app requires to install and run... does your phone meet those requirements?

Downloaded movies arent playing in itunes

i downloaded movies that i own onto a new computer and they wont play. i hit play and all i get is a black screen with no sound and no picture. i can select chapters and the timer of the movie counts but its not really playing at all. do i have to do another authorize thing that i dont know about or is itunes broken for some unknown reason...

I have a similar problem, I had to uninstall and then re-install itunes because it kept messing up on me and when I reinstalled it, my digital movies stopped working. All my songs work fine and my movies are still stored in the library, but they won't open. I just get a black screen with no sound and it doesn't play.
Does anyone have an answer to this? I'm new to this site and tried to create a new thread asking about this but can't seem to find a button/link on these forum pages to let me do that.

trying to play hd movie. iTunes used to play it. now I get a message saying "wont play hd movie. need an attachment to your device" what is going on?

The message makes me wonder if everything supports HDCP.

Purchased movie wont play on apple TV

i purchased a movie yesterday on the Ituens store to play via airplay and apple tv on my TV but get a message there is a technical problme playing the movie. All my other movies which are not itunes movies play fine through apple TV o
on the TV screen I get the message you need to autorize your computer with Ituens store which is. Now could it be that I do not have a internet conection at home , do i need to be conected to internet to play this movie via apple tV which does not make sense as I can play it fine on the computer withouth being on the internet

I believe I am experiencing the same problem. When I try to stream iTunes-purchased movies from my iPad 2 to an Apple TV without Internet Connection (used only for AirPlay) I get the error "The operation could not be completed An unknown error occurred (3)"
Extremely frustrating and goes to show that you dont really own your iTunes movie given these use cases where you have to "phone home" to Apple for permission to play it. Add it to the long list of reasons we're better off grabbing these from torrent... Plays on any device, doesn't phone home, wider selection, etc. Eventually movies will get over their DRM fetish just like music did. Until the multi-millionaire executives get that through their thick heads, millions of people will continue to be frustrated and just pirate cuz it's such a better experience. And free, but that isn't even the issue for me.

Song wont play in iTunes - computer needs authorization but is already authorized?

I click to play a song in iTunes (which also purchased from iTunes) but am shown the message "This computer is not authorized to play [song title]. Would you like to authorize it now?". I enter in my username and password to authorize and am told "your computer is already authorized". I even tried to deauthorize then reauthorize but the song still wont play, and this cycle continues.
Every other song on the release plays with no issues - this one track is the only one that wont.
Anyone have any suggestions?

SONG WONT PLAY ON ITUNES

on march 24th i believe or recently i purchased the new KIP MOORE CD. and it is amazing. and been listening to it non stop ever since. well just last night when i was listening to the cd on my ipod i realized the first song kept getting skipped. so when i got home i got on itunes and clicked it. the pop up came up saying you are not authorized to play this song. so i signed in. and it tells me that i my computer is already autherized. and skips to the next song. so i was reading and i read to deauthorized everything i did that. and still same thing. so what do i need to do now. is there some way to fix this. ... now i did download it last night to my laptop. and it plays but on my iPod and main computer the song wont play at all. wont even burn to a cd to listening to it.. please help me. i wouldnt mind if it was a song that sucked but it is an amazing song. thanks.

ap, have you moved the song files on your computer that have the exclamation point next to them? Try playing them in iTunes and see if a window doesn't come up asking you to locate the file. Also, there might be something wrong with the song file that is keeping iTunes from syncing it to your iPod. Do all these songs have something in common that you might recognize?

Can't get movie to play on itunes!

I just purchased and downloaded the movie Money Ball on itunes. After it finished downloading it showed up under the movies tab, but when I click it it brings me to the menu for Money Ball (Where it says play movie, scenes extras, etc...) and will not play. I have severel other movies under the movie tab, if i move the mouse over them it says "play movie." With Money Ball, it does not do that. Also, I was trying to sync this movie to my ipad. Each of the other movies shows up under the movies tab on ipad, but for some reason this movie will not! Please help

Movie not playing in iTunes

I have a movie in mp4 format which I have imported from my hard disk into my iTunes library. I am able to stream it to my HDTV through the Apple TV2 but it refuses to play in iTunes. The window comes up but the movie just does not play. Any idea what could be the possible cause? The movie also plays flawlessly in Quicktime and in DVD Player.

Do you have Quicktime installed? My iTunes wouldn't play movies until I installed Quicktime.
Is the movie from iTunes or from another source? More details would help...although since this post is from so long ago you probably figured it out!
