Movies Purchased on iTunes don't show up on Apple TV

For some reason, when I purchase movies on iTunes they aren't showing up on my Apple TV ... Which is why I got Apple TV in the first place.
Help!!!

Hi, I have the same issue. I've sunched iTunes and Apple TV, and the movies I have purchased appear in iTunes, but ony as greyed out, so they can't be opened/played transferred.
I used to be able to watch my movies on my iPhone via iTunes, but no longer - can anyone help?

  • Movie purchased on iTunes doesn't show up on Apple TV. Any ideas why?

    Hi,
I just paid to rent a movie from iTunes on my Macbook. Switched on AppleTV to sit and watch it, and it doesn't show up in my Purchased area in movies.
Tried turning "home sharing" off, then back on again to reset it.
Tried logging out of my account, into my wife's, then back to mine hoping that would 'refresh' it.
    Still nothing.
    Am I doing something wrong.
P.S. The reason I didn't rent it thru AppleTV is that it was trying to charge it to my credit card, yet I have credit in my iTunes account and want to use that instead (hence why I did it thru iTunes on my macbook instead)

You rented the movie, you didn't purchase it.
Assuming you have now let it fully download to your computer, look under the computers section on the Apple TV.

  • Movie purchased from iTunes no longer sync's to Apple TV/iPhone

I purchased the movie Iron Man awhile back, I was able to watch it via my Apple TV once, I don't sync, I stream. I was also able to sync it to my iPhone. I am un-able to do both now, the movie is still in iTunes and is only watchable via the computer. When the iPhone is connected, I place a check mark next to the movie to add and nothing (Yes, there is enough storage space), in the Apple TV Movie menu the movie does not show up in the list, but others I have purchased do. Please help.

i have 2 movies in itunes listed in the movies tab in itunes and it's showing up in the movies tab in the iphone tab as well but after i sync it, i still don't have the 2 movies show up on my iphone after i sync and disconnect the USB cable. i checked to make sure the check mark is checked for the 2 movies and also i have check mark for all movies and have it checked for individual movies but it still will not show up on my iphone. I actually have 4 movies and 2 are showing up on my iphone. the format is mpeg 4. it should move to the iphone but i tried so many times to sync it. i have done the drag into the genius tab but it won't let me drag directly onto the iphone icon in itunes. i don't know why the movies won't move onto the iphone. i have plenty of space on my iphone. any ideas what i need to do? i believe the movies are in the itunes library.

  • Is there a way to display movies purchased from itunes from my ipad to my apple TV without internet (still using wifi)

I am going on vacation and will have a wifi network, but no internet access. I have tried to display downloaded movies from my ipad purchased on itunes to my apple TV, but get "Unknown Error -3". I can use mirroring, but not show the video. I am signed into the same account on both devices and the movie is downloaded to the ipad. The only issue I can think of is some DRM check, but I am not sure.
Has anyone been able to do this? It would be nice to be able to use my purchased movies on vacation without needing internet.
    thanks for any help

Will the lightning to HDMI dongle work?
    thanks for any help!
This was a big advantage of AppleTV1 - generally it did not need internet authorisation for synced material on its internal drive and was great for holiday/vacation.
I tend to use a Mac Mini these days when going away.

  • Movies from iTunes don't show up on Apple TV

Everything else from my library does (music, photos, TV shows), but I can't get the movies from my library to show up on my Apple TV. Here's the kicker...when I go to the movie section in my library (from the Apple TV) all the posters are scrolling on the left, but only one or two of them are selectable from the menu on the right.

They weren't checked in the library. Duh.

Which version of iTunes are you using?
What is your iPod firmware number as shown in the iTunes summary page?
Is there any error message when you try to sync the vidoes?

  • Redownloading my previous movie purchases in iTunes

Why can I not redownload my previous movies purchased on iTunes after Apple announced last night that you can know apparently do????

Maybe you don't have iTunes 10.6? Maybe you are not in the USA?  Maybe it is one of the ones that isn't available?
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not available in all countries; apps, books (not audiobooks), music, t.v. shows and movies. Movies available in the United States only. Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later.  Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list, or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.

  • Every movie purchase through iTunes fails to transfer to my iPhone or iPad and the message I get is this: some of the items in the itunes library, including were not copied to the ipad because you are not authorized for them on this computer... help?

For a couple months now, every movie purchase through iTunes fails to transfer to my iPhone or iPad giving me the error: "some of the items in the iTunes library, including were not copied to the iPad because you are not authorized for them on this computer". I have read many forums about deleting, reinstalling, de-authorizing and authorizing my iMac through the iTunes store. Many suggestions don't work except to rename the movie to *.MP4 in Finder under the iTunes movie directory. I imagine this is a setting or a bug somewhere... any suggestions on how to bypass having to rename the files in Finder? My research into Google suggests this problem dates back to 2007 or so but it is now more prevalent than ever.
    Thanks.

  • Movie playlist in iTunes is not showing up on iPhone after manually managing syncing and including movies from playlist.

Movie playlist in iTunes is not showing up on iPhone after manually managing syncing and including movies from playlist.

Thank you.  This solved my problem too.
But, one little thing to share:
"There's an option in settings for Playlists. It was set to Music only. Changed that to All then found the movie playlist under Movies by selecting Genre."
This is not to be done in iTunes in your computer; this is to be done at your apple TV under "setting". "audio video" "show playlist" "music only/all"
I am posting this here because I started chat mode with Apple support last night at midnight till 1:30, they didn't know what to do.
They called me back this morning at 10 am.
    It's not 11:40 they finally know what I am talking about and showed me where to to find the "music only / all" toggle.  My problem is now fixed;
all these time, they have in front of them a screen shot of your questions and answer but they don't know where to change it from music only to all.
So, I hope this will save the next victim a lot of time.
    Again, thank you.

  • Is is possible to convert the movies purchased on itunes to DVD?

Is is possible to convert the movies purchased on itunes to DVD? (In other words you would be burning the movie or tv shows to a blank DVD).

You can store just what you want on the external. Just set up folders for what you want. I have a music folder, movies and TV shows, and pictures folders. I also have mine partitioned for OSX and Windows. I have a few files I need if I am running on windows so I keep them on the windows side. I always keep a back up of my documents and a few other files it is a pain to download on the external.
You can also copy every folder and file on your machine to the external if it is big enough. This is a true copy not a back up file generated by a back up program. I like to do this if I get adventuresome and plan to do some major experimenting with my software. Saves having to reload everything if it crashes.

  • Can't download movies purchased from itunes on my ipad

I have many movies purchased through iTunes store.  In the past I was able to download to my iPad to watch when out of wifi.  Now many titles, I cannot.  Previously, I downloaded Avengers and watched, now it won't. Why?

I had the same issue and was able to fix it...  I went to settings / videos and turned on "show all videos". I did the same at settings / iTunes and App Store.  Then, when I returned to "videos", all of my purchases were there (took a second).  At that point I did NOT get the "watch" button...I DID get the "cloud" icon And was able to download.....

  • Do all movies purchased include iTunes Extras

Do all movies purchased include "iTunes Extras"; extra fetures, deleted sceans etc.?

I don't owe you an answer. I, like just about everyone else here, am just a fellow user. We don't get paid to help here, so it would pay you not to presume that we do and become demanding. And this thread was about a completely different subject and is from back in March. If you wish help with a problem, include more details in your own thread on the subject so that people have information on which to base a diagnosis and then perhaps someone will have useful suggestions.

  • I cannot view rented movies (purchased through itunes) on my iPad2 in-flight

I cannot view rented movies (purchased through itunes) with the Video app on my iPad2 while flying. On a hunch, I purchased in-flight wifi and only then could I watch my rentals. What gives? Any suggestions on how to avoid paying for in-flight wifi is appreciated.

I don't think that he waited a day.  From the wording, I concluded that he waited only minutes (during take-off).
I recall seeing this issue before.  Apparently there is an issue related to copyright protection with some movies.  I stopped flying when I retired so I didn't pay too much attention to the problem.  Perhaps a search of the forum will shed more light.
