Can I logoff from my iTunes and login using my family share id, download the apps that I want that were previously purchased before I linked family sharing with my unique Apple id, logout, and log back in with my Apple ID to have access to the apps?

If you transfer any iTunes content to the iPhone from an iTunes library on another computer, all iTunes content on the iPhone will be erased first with a warning message provided indicating this beforehand.
Authorize the different computer with your Apple ID with iTunes. With your iPhone connected and without syncing, right click on the iPhone under Devices in the iTunes source list and at the menu window that appears, select Transfer Purchases. This will transfer all apps on your iPhone to the iTunes library.

  • Splitting Family Member out our iTunes account

Our daughter is reaching the age that I would like her to buy own songs under her own iTunes account.  Right now each family member has his/her own Apple IDs but we use one common "family" Apple ID for all iTunes music purchases so that we can share songs.  As my daughter get prepared to go to college, she will need to start paying for her own songs (can't use our Apple ID forever).  That being said I don't want her to lose the songs she currently has under the "family Apple ID".  Any ideas?

Authorize her computer for your account.  She can then listen to the music purchased with your account and buy content with her own account.

  • Can my minor daughter have her own account as my family member and charge purchased to her own credit card?

Currently I family-share my iTunes with my minor daughter.  She purchases songs which are charged to my bank card.  l would like to set her up with her own apple id so she can purchase her own songs and use her own bank card, but still share so I know what she is purchasing and how much she is spending.  is this possible?

    Bank card - no.
    Gift cards - yes.
    Family purchases and payments:
"After you set up your family, any time a family member initiates a new purchase it will be billed directly to your account unless that family member has gift or store credit. First, their store credit will be used to pay the partial or total bill. The remainder will bill to the family organizer's card."

  • Moving iTunes library in preparation for Home Sharing

I have an iMac which currently hosts my iTunes library and am buying a Mac Mini with an external drive which will act as file server.
I want to move my iTunes library from my iMac to the Mac Mini and then share it out via Home Sharing.
What is the best way I go about this?
Do I manually copy my iTunes library over? Or enable Home Sharing first on the Mac Mini and then copy over my library?
    Any advice is appreciated!

    that's what i would do.
    i would:
    1) connect both Macs with a firewire cable and boot the iMac in _*Target Disk Mode*_.
    2) copy the entire iTunes folder (not just the iTunes music folder) from the iMac to the corresponding location on the mini (overwriting the iTunes folder in place there)
when launching iTunes on the mini for the first time, you should be presented with the library you were used to from the iMac.

  • HT4352 problem sharing iTunes with new Apple TV.(model MD199LL/A. I have iTunes and Apple TV set up with same address and passwords, enabled iTunes and Apple TV for home sharing and still nothing? I have latest iTunes and Apple TV update. Any other sugges

Have a problem with Home Sharing with Apple TV and iTunes. Have latest iTunes and Apple TV downloads. Have both items set up for home sharing with same address and passwords. AppleTV running fine for everything else. FYI, my library is about 60gigs. AppleTV model is MD199LL/A if that matters. Really want to hear my entire music library and not just Purchased items. Thanks for any help!!!

I have an older PC with Windows XP Professional on it. I updated to the latest iTunes and I am able to access the photos, etc. on it. However, my Windows 7 PC still does work (since last Apple TV update). Apple TV does not recognize that Home Sharing is turned here. The latter PC has all my current photos on it which I would like share with others on my Apple TV. A fix would be appreciated.

  • Moving subset of music from Windows iTunes to Apple iTunes

Ok, I have to admit, I am a little irritated at iTunes…. I’m hoping there’s an easier way to accomplish such a simple task.
I have a Windows system and link up my video iPod up to it for my tunes.
My wife has a MacBook and a Nano.
I have imported our CD library into my iTunes as I have the space to handle our library on my iPod. My wife went through my library, created a playlist on my pc, and placed her favorite songs into this playlist. I would like to copy her favorite songs over to her mac/itunes/nano. There are about 60 songs she wants that seem to be spread around between 25 artists. Hunting down each file on my hard drive sounds idiotic so I thought I’d just burn the playlist to CD’s….
MUCH to my disappointment, when I ripped them to CD’s I had 2 issues:
    1. It looks like the files are just Track01, 02…. Ect… Where did all the relevant information go? I haven’t tried to import it into her Mac yet, maybe an overreaction.
    2. 2 of the CD’s burned before my library tanked.
    Better way?
Ok, now to my question… It seems kind of silly to take 60 songs that are in a small format, bloat them up, span them across 4 CD’s to be moved over to Mac Tunes, compressed down again to go on the Wife’s mac?
Isn’t there a way I can export a playlist to a DVD in the MP3 or iTunes file format and move over to the wife’s system?
Despite my frustration, I love my iPod and really love my wife’s MacBook!

I have imported our CD library into my iTunes as I have the space to handle our library on my iPod.
You mean you have the space on yoru computer.
    RIP from a CD/DVD.
    Burn to a CD/DVD.
You need to burn these to a data CD/DVD, not an audio CD.
iTunes prefs -> Advanced - Burning.

  • Deleting a family member from Icloud?

Anyone know how to remove someone from your family group that is signed into Icloud?

Go to the iTunes Store. Under Quick Links, click on Purchased. This place has everything that you ever purchased on iTunes. When you hover over an album in the music section a "x" appears on the upper left corner of the artwork. Click on that to hide it.

  • How can I get back all of my family videos from the iTunes monster?

    So here's the thing.
Over the past few years I have accumulated a whole heap of home videos as well as movies, TV episodes etc. etc. which has grown and grown to the point where there was no more space on my 60GB hard drive.
So I go out and buy an 80GB video iPod so that I can store the videos on that.
I go through the extremely lengthy (3 days) and frustrating process of converting all my files to mp4 using Videora converter and load them onto iTunes and then onto my new iPod. I then click 'Manually manage songs' in my iPod options so that I could delete the videos from my computer, and have them still on my iPod. This was about a week ago and since then everything has been fine.
When updating my iPod this morning, I manually ejected the ipod once my new music was added, only to find that the ipod now contained NO VIDEOS! As it turns out, the iPod automaticaaly reverted to 'automatcally manage files' without my prompt.
So now whilst I have the files on iTunes, they cannot be found as they have been deleted and they are no longer on my iPod. Is there ANY way that I can get them back? Anything at all? System restore or something?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Dell Inspiron 8600   Windows XP

if you mean restore an backup from an earlier iphone then it ask you or you can manually choose restore
if you mean apps located in your itunes library then you check the apps you want on the iphoen in the apps tab when you have it connected to computers itunes

I have been trying to find an answer to this question prior to setting up Family Sharing, but I haven't found anything relevant.

  • Moved files to 'F-drive', but iTunes playlists still looking for 'D-drive'

I've just reconfigured my hard drives and moved my iTunes folder to my F-drive. All of my playlists are still looking for teh old D-drive.
Is teher a way of modifying the playlist files?
    Thanks,
    Steven Lyall

I've had this problem too. Only way I know is either use smart play lists or rebuild your play lists from scratch
If anybody else has a solution or a program that can resolve this it would be great.
