Moving WCC cluster setup from one box to another box

We want to move the existing WCC  (clustered) from one box to another box (both unix). We have the cluster/ folder {which have the folders cs/, vault/, weblayout/} on shared drive mounted in source machine running on 11.1.1.6.0.
We have installed the same installation in destination box. We want to follow the below steps to move the config., data from source to destination.
1) Stop servers in source.
2) Change the db details in weblogic console destination to source db.
3) Unmount the shared/ folder in source and mount it in destination box. (The vault, weblayout, cs folders will be mapped directly in destination ucm)
The other qns we have are
1) Are the above steps are correct and will WCC run without any problems.
2) Do the domain homes needs to be in sync (because the destination box is a fresh installation)
Just to test it, I have copied the cluster/cs/ folder from source to destination and the destination content servers are working fine. (I have not copied vault/ weblayout and changing the db)
I have seen a article on cloning WCC servers
Is it Possible to Clone Webcenter Content 11g ? (Doc ID 1507480.1)
It pointed to documentation http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/core.1111/e10105/testprod.htm#ASADM11306
For target already exists, it just asked to migrate config. using CMU. Do I need to worry about domain homes or cluster/cs is enough to run WCC smoothly if they are in sync?
Thanks,
Narasa Kumar

Hi
Domain home contains information pertaining to weblogic and it's clustering configuration. Most of the WCC related config data will be residing in Oracle_ECM1 and ucm/cs folders. if the domain data changes from source to destination then  there will be difference in behavior based on what changes are done in destination domain.
Differences/ changes in intradoc.cfg and config.cfg between 2 environments will have impact.
Better is publish your directory structure and then ask for Q and changes are that response might fit-in-better to your scenario.
Ideally, have same structure and configuration on destination and then perform movement of WCC. Run a sanity to confirm working use cases and then perform any changes to configuration or other things have you planned.
Thank you!

  • Moving time-dependant data from one table to another (archiving)

    Hello all
I would like to know if there's an easier solution or a "best practice" to move data from one table to another. The context of this issue can be found within "archiving".
More concretely: we have an application that uses several tables to log information to.
These tables are growing like crazy, and we would like to keep only "relevant" data in those tables, so I was thinking about moving data from these tables that have been in there for, say 2 months, to "archiving" tables.
I figured there must be some kind of "best practice" to get this done.
I have already written a procedure that loops the table that has the time indicator and inserts the records from the normal tables into the archive tables (and afterwards delete this data), but it seems to be taking ages to get it done.
    Thanks in advance!

There is nothing to do with PL/SQL.

  • Moving apps, their data from one ipad to another AND changing/deleting at the same time!

    Hi,
I would like to get ready for my new iPad. Over time I have accumalated a LOT of Apps which I don't use or  would like to organize differently.
Others (games or internal documents/settings) I would like to leave intact. Is there a way to choose what to import and maybe already pre-sort?
I know of the restore feature from a specific backup (used that in the past) that DOES keep the data intact but does not allow for my organizing/spring cleaning scenario...
I was thinking directly of the new Apple configurator tool. I could import my iPad profile, and based on that choose apps to keep (and their data) or delete in a first step. Even better would be if I could then group them in folders or screens BEFORE I sync this new profile to my new iPad.
This would also be ideal to manage backups and different setups for family members when we do the family shuffle.. I upgrade, hand my old device to my better half, she hands her to X family member etc., etc.
My issue is that the help menu of the configurator toll indicates it works only for volume bought applications. Is this right? Why the restriction?
Main concern of course is not installing the application on a specific device BUT to copy the app (AND internal data) exactly to another one!
I'm surprised that Apple hasn't adressed these issues better but maybe they did with this new tool (or another way) and I just don't see/understand it.
Thanks for any and all input,
    Philly

    Thanks Rudegar
My problem is a little different. I would like to selectively sync apps and maybe change/add/delete folders and app screens.
I know how to "clone/restore" the iPad. I was hoping that I could maybe use the Apple confugurator for this purpose and customize my apps based on an import from the old iPad. As such weeding out old apps and not having to use the cumbersome iTunes method but at the same time protecting my backed up data.
It could also simplify data transfer if I could create multiple profiles/people from which I can choose who to sync/transfer to a specific iDevice.
But thanks for taking your time and providing a solution to transfer all files from one device to another.

  • Moving iPhone App Project from one Mac to Another...HELP!!

    Hey guys,
Im new to programming. I made a simple app and I want to most it from one mac to another. I copied the folder and tried running it but it gave me a whole bunch of errors along the lines of:
    - directory not writable
    - permission failed
    - errors permission denied
    etc...
I do not know what I am doing wrong. Please please help!

Hi GadgetAddicted & welcome to discussions...
It sounds like you're not using the original locations that are constructed when Xcode is first installed.
If your second install is the same as the original, moving a simple project that is intact to begin with shouldn't be a problem.
Be sure that all the resources related to that project are local to the original project (inside the same parent folder), and then duplicate the parent folder...move that, but be sure the name of the parent folder in the second location is the same as in the original.
Repair permissions via Disk Utility after the move.

  • Moving Events and Projects from one location to another on the same hard drive.

    Hello.
I've searched in the FCP X User Manual, on this forum and in Google, but have found no explanation of how to do this, so I'm posting this here in hopes that someone in our community will be able to help.
I've previously stored my FCP X Events and Projects folders on an external 3TB hard drive, because there is more room on it than on the internal 1TB hard drive, but, since then, I've worked with other media apps, for video, photography and audio, the files for which are also stored on the external hard drive, and this has created a bit of clutter with no folder structure to keep it tidy.
I like an organised file structure on my system, to keep it uncluttered, easy to navigate and efficient to use, so I put all the files for my photography, video and audio apps into their own folders, which are, in turn, stored in their appropriate folders for Audio, Photography and Video, and those three folders are stored in a folder called Media, and then I directed each app to its own files.
The only app with which this has been a problem is FCP X. While there is a way of relocating projects and events from within FCP X, it allows the user to move them from one hard drive to another, and not, as I want, from one place to another on the same hard drive.
I'm not sure if it matters, but perhaps it's relevant to mention before the next paragraph that the files that had previously been imported as events are, to save hard-drive space, stored in the events folder as shortcuts to the original files, which are stored elsewhere on the drive, rather than as duplicates of those files.
In Finder, I copied the Events and Projects folders to their intended new locations and tried in the app to link the events and projects to their new Finder location. It seemed to have worked, until I moved the original folders to the Trash. On re-opening FCP X, it was clear that the linking hadn't worked. I returned the original folders from the Trash to their original location, but that didn't entirely reverse the problem. I noticed also that, in the original and duplicated Events folders, the shortcuts had lost their links to the original files stored elswehere on the drive.
Fortunately I had run a backup before starting, so I restored the original folders and the app from the backup, and all was back to normal.
I'd be grateful if anyone could advise me on whether or not it's possible to move FCP X events and projects from one place to another on the same hard drive with the app's compliance.
    Thank you.

  • Moving HP P1102W Printer from One Address to Another Address

I have defined the above-mentioned printer to my Hp ePrint account and have an hpeprint.com email address for the printer.
I have also used this hpeprint.com email address in my Google Cloud Print account.
If I move from one address to another address, can I keep the same hpeprint.com address for this printer,
and will HP ePrint be able to find the printer at the new address with the same hpeprint.com email address?
Or do I have to remove the printer from Google Cloud Print and my HP ePrint account,
and do I have to Remove Web Services from the printer and then re-Enable Web Services to get a new printer code,
and then re-add the printer to my HP ePrint account and get a new hpeprint.com emaill address for the printer,
to also re-add to my Google Cloud Print account?
I am using Windows XP SP3.
    Thank you.

    Hey Faye613,
You should not have to re-setup the Web Services on the printer when you move physical addresses.  Once you have the printer at the new location and setup on the new network the printer will connect out to the Web Services server where everything will be connected back up.  The old ePrint information should still remain and be tied to the P1102w.
    Hope this helps,
    Jason

  • Advice for moving entire photo collection from one computer to another?

I'm in the process of getting a new desktop. However, I already have gigs of photos that I've processed through Lightroom on my old computer. I'd like to move the entire collection to my new computer. Is there a simple way of doing this? It sounds like a daunting task.

Here's the way I did it. I was moving from one mac to another mac, but I think that the database file is platform independent so you might try this.
Back up your database on your old machine. Make note of where that file is.
Have Lightroom installed and started up at least once on your new machine.
Copy all your photo files, with whatever directory structure you like to your new machine.
Move the database backup you made over to your new machine into whatever directory you wish to keep it.
Start Lightroom on the new machine and open up your backed-up database.
All you photos will probably be in red, since the database is pointing to the wrong locations. Select one photo in the grid, and lightroom will ask you where it is. Point Lighroom to the new location -- if you've kept your directory structure intact, Lightroom should go out and reconnect all the database links.
    Worked for me. Good luck.

  • Moving an iWeb project from one computer to another

An iWeb web-site project I have been working on for years needs to be moved from one computer to another. The iWeb project currently resides in iWeb 2 on a G4 iMac running MacOS 10.4.11. I'd like to move it to my MacBook Pro so I have access to iLife 2009. What steps do I need to take to complete the transfer?

  • Moving a print project from one computer to another

Why does Apple not design the software where you could work on a project on Multiple apple devices.  You would think with the Cloud the database could reside the and then work on it from any mac you own.
Please tell me I am wrong and you can move a print project (Book , Calendar) from one Mac to another without moving a whole library.

    What App is it?
If iPhoto I thought that was what iCloud was all about???

  • Moving tables with data from one client to another

    Hello friends
    I have 2 clients 001 and 002.
I have created a table with lots of data on client 001.
I have to get the same table on 002 also with the same data.
Is there an easier way of transfering this data from one table to another?
I would appreciate any feedback on this.
I know that mappings etc., can be done using the export and import of tpz file. So I want to know if there is any similar thing to transfer a table with data.
    THanks
    Ram

If you do not have the client field in your table, then the table is cross-client.
IF you have the client field filled with 001, then you need to create the same entries with client 002, I dont think that you can do this with a transport.
You have to write an ABAP that reads and writes the data.

  • Question about moving all iTunes data from one computer to another.

I have a Windows XP. Now I have a windows 7. All of the songs from the XP are available on the new computer via a Z drive. But when I plug my iPod into the new computer it says that it is registered with a different library and asks me if I want to delete all the songs and apps and replace them from the ones on the new library. I don't want that to happen. And all of the apps on the old computer aren't available on the new one. How do I get the apps from one computer to another, and how do I sync my iPod on the new computer without erasing all high scores, app data, songs, and other information? And how do I get a song fro the new computer back to the old one?
    Devin

This is the way I would normally recommend that you migrate your library from one computer to another.
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
If you have content on the new computer that you want to add to the library on the old one then copy that across via network/memory stick etc. before attempting to migrate the library again.

  • Movement type: moving the returnable package from one customer to another

    Hello,
I would like to know if there exists any predefined movement type (in transaction MIGO) which would allow to move the stock of the returnable package (material type LEIH, pallets etc.) from one customer to another IN ONE STEP (now we do it in 2 steps: first we return the stock from the customer to the our location and then move it to another customer). When we sell material to the customer, the stock type for the returnable package has the mark for special stock type (''V'').
I tryed types 301V and 309V, but the customer had to be the same. It only allows to move the pallets between different plants for the same customer.
    Best regards,
    Mojca Kukman

    Hi
There is no such movement type. Customers always look for one-step transactions and the only way to achieve this is through ABAP!
    Normally I do this:
Create a Z-txn for customer input and on saving create 2 material documents (as in 2-step process).
    Best regards

  • Moving procedures and sequences from one schema to another

    Hi all,
Is there any way to export the procedures and sequences alone from one schema to another? If not is there any way to generate the procedure creating scripts from the source schema.
I used the following script SET HEADING OFF
    SET PAGESIZE 999
    SET LINESIZE 100
    SELECT DBMS_METADATA.GET_DDL('PROCEDURE', NAME, owner) || '/' FROM ALL_SOURCE WHERE
    OWNER='SCOTT' AND TYPE='PROCEDURE'
    SPOOL C:\A.SQL
    SPOOL OFF
    [/CODE]
But the problem is in the out put script it is cutting the line .. for egCREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE "QC_PFIZER_REL5"."SPGETNEXTDS
    S_ID"
    ( V_ID OUT NUMBER )
    IS
    BEGIN
    SELECT SEQUENCE_DSS_Id.NEXTVAL INTO V_ID FROM DUAL;
    END ;
i experimented with increasing linesize but it is not helping. I am using 9.2.0.5 on windows 2003.
    Thanks
    Muneer

Similar to getting the code from user_source, you could get sequences from user_sequences.
    SQL> select dbms_metadata.get_ddl('SEQUENCE', sequence_name) from user_sequences ;
    DBMS_METADATA.GET_DDL('SEQUENCE',SEQUENCE_NAME)
CREATE SEQUENCE  "SCOTT"."SEQ"  MINVALUE 1 MAXVALUE 1.00000000000000E+27 INCR
EMENT BY 1 START WITH 1 CACHE 20 NOORDER  NOCYCLE
    1 row selected.

  • Moved iMovie 09 project from one computer to another - now timing is wrong!

    Hello,
I wanted to copy some Events and Projects from my Dad's older MacBook Pro to my iMac. So I just copied the event folders (from <Home Directory>/Movies/iMovie Events/) and the project files (from <Home Directory>/Movies/iMovie Projects/) to the corresponding folders on my iMac.
I then opened up iMovie on my iMac and saw that the Events and Projects were there. So far, so good.
The first problem I noticed was when I exported one of the projects from my iMac using QuickTime. The duration of the resulting .MOV file was about 30 seconds shorter than the duration of the project!
I watched the Project in iMovie, and found that the clips in the Project were 'cut off'. For example, the clip in the Project would say it was 10 seconds long, but when you played the Project the clip was only 7 seconds long.
How could this be? Is the speed of the Project somehow tied to the computer that created the project? i.e. perhaps the speed of the processor could impact this? I highly doubt it, as it would make it impossible to move projects from one computer to another.
Bottom line - the identical Project file on my iMac (with the same underlying events) will produce a different exported movie file than the exact same Project file on my Dad's laptop. Specifically, my version will be shorter and the clips will be cut off.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated....

The macrumours link just telss you how to move the events which is relatively straightforward.
Alot of advice just seems to rest with leave the projects on your internal drive as they don't take up much space.
However, http://karsten.schluter.googlepages.com/im08tricks has a description of how to move the projects and then 'fool' imovie into where the projects are stored.
Not very flexible but it does allow you to 'clear' your macbook yet when you restore the sym-link file to the right place and restart imovie you can reconnect to all your old projects and events without yellow triangles of death appearing.
By the by apple needs to sort this out as archiving old projects and events together and preserve the editing is a really basic requirment I think.
PS anyone found out how to merge projects yet? Another basic function that seems to be lacking.

  • Moving Domain for iWeb from one computer to another

Have moved my website domain from Library in one computer running Leopard into Library in another computer running Lion.
Deleted default Domain in new Library, but when I open iWeb app the empty default Domain opens with nothing in it and returns back to Library folder in new Library. Even when I open Domain with my site directly from Library iWeb opens as a new app without my site. Everytime I delete the default Domain
    it returns.
How do I get the computer to recognise my site Domain in Library of computer running Lion? And to not keep recreating default empty Domain?
I have done this transfer before between 2 computers running Leopard and it works every time.
    Help! Please.....
    Gareth

As previously noted I got my Domain across to new computer running Lion and everything runs just fine
Editing my site hasn't altered except that now after pressing 'Publish', the edited site won't open and I am taken to the site of my Australian Server 'Big Pond' with a message saying that my site doesn't exist.
When I navigate to my site my edits have worked and the page opens normally.
    My site publishing settings are:
    'Publish to Mobile Me'
    Site name - gareth-sansom.com
The site though opens at http://web.me.com/gsansom/ (where it used to automatically open in after pressing Publish)
I have tried changing site name to that in 'Publish to Mobile Me' but then nothing works including publishing.
If I leave Publish to Mobile me as 'gareth-sansom.com' the publishing works, but I can't open my site after the publishing without navigating to it.
    Am I missing something here?
