Mozilla 3.6.8 upgrade will not allow print to HP1200 w/Mac 10.5.8 so how do I get it to print?
When I try to print to a a HP 1200 I get only blank pages. It happened when Mozilla upgraded to 3.6.8 and my Mac system is using 10.5.8. How do I get it to print? I tried reloading the print driver and restarting the system, but that does not work.

babowa, it seems like it is using Fuse & NTFS, so I don't think it's the classic WD + 10.9 mess, but extra WD tools & drivers can still break things MtTran.
MrTran, if you must use unsupported disk formats on your Mac you must also consider actually paying the developers that made the trial software.
It's probably a good idea to follow the developers removal instructions, reboot & then install one tool at a time.
MacFuse, FuseOSX, NTFS-3G are all likley to confict if you run older versions so you need to be sure you are using the latest version. I can't remeber which one depends on the other, so you will need to read the manuals.
When the disk is readable copy the data to another disk. You could probably do this from a Linux distro or Windows if OS X won't do it.
If you insist on only using the trial versions you will need to reinstall Mac OS, copy data off this disk & reformat it.

I need to install iWork 09 so I can open the many pages document files that will NOT open under the new pages 5. Mavericks will not accept an install from my iWork's 09 CD. How do I get around this?
Hi, I'm helping StringSinger2 with this problem.
The previously installed version is Pages 3.0.3 (the same as from iWork 08). This version (Pages 3.0.3/iWork 08) is incompatible with Pages 5.
That is why it would be helpful to install iWork 09, which is the version between the two. It will open the older 08 files, and its saved files are readable by the new Pages5.

When I try to install iWorks 09 from my retail DVD the error message is "the installer is damaged". (I know the dvd is good, I installed iWorks09 to my laptop today.) Is the "installer" part of the system files? And - If that is damaged is there a patch for that?

After update to O/S 7.1.2 my iPad2 is stuck on Vertical Orientation and will not shift to horizontal as it has in the past. How can I get the flexible orientation back??
I agree with what FoxFifth has said, but I want to add a little to the discussion and put my own twist on the explanation.
If you see a lock icon in the upper right corner of the screen - then the screen orientation is locked.
Try the side switch above the volume rocker first and see if that unlocks the screen.
If you are running iOS 7, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to the control center and the lock icon is in the row of icons at the top all the way to the right.
If the screen is unlocked but still will not rotate, reset the iPad.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the button -
I have downloaded Java 6 update 37, but Firefox does not recognize it as a valid plug-in, and so will not even give me the option of enabling it. Is there any workaround for this?
Firefox is a 32 bit application, so make sure that you've installed the 32 bit Java program and that Firefox can find its plugins.

Latest Firefox will not allow multiple tabs on my Mac !!?!!
I have the most current version of Firefox and since it loaded, I can no longer open multiple tabs either by clicking on the + or by selecting New Tab from the file menu. My only option seems to be to open another window - I would rather have multiple tabs. What happened to the new version?

Firefox does not work with the USPS self ship web site. Will not allow printing of postage labels.
Some months ago, user "junkbondman" asked this question somewhat poorly, and partly as a result got a non-responsive boilerplate answer by someone who did not read the question's key (if cryptic) point:

That's too bad, because 16 other users identified "HAVE SAME PROBLEM" - as had, no doubt, a large majority of the 677 viewers of the question. However, maybe to get a better answer we need to start with a better definition of the problem.
The way that the USPS site <cns.usps.com> works to print a label is that addresses (return and forward) are defined, the package weight and value are specified, and then a shipping mode is selected before paying and printing the label. The shipping mode is selected in a section titled "Select a service type", via an embedded table using a vertical scroll-bar that Firefox cannot handle. [Firefox is not alone in that. For example, Safari under iOS cannot scroll the embedded table, but USPS provides a mobile app which mitigates that problem by presenting the table differently.]
Now, it should be stipulated that the table is the worst element in a bad page that does not begin to pass W3 validation [71 errors, 19 warnings - looks like government work]. However, other browsers (like Google Chrome) handle that table with apparent ease. The question is whether Firefox should be able to do so - and, if so, how? As of Fx 33.0, this still does not work.
NOTES:
(1) Unfortunately, to examine this problem requires setting up a USPS account in order to see the shipping page. Setting up the account is easy, but it is a small extra burden to examining the problem.
(2) The problem has been reported to USPS, but has elicited no sign of intelligent life.''I get the "pointer" mouse cursor when mousing over the blue bar, and I can click on it and scroll the contents as with any other scroll bar, but the bar doesn't move up and down in sync with the content being scrolled: it just stays put. Great description! - sorry if you implied that earlier and I misunderstood, but I think that description adds crucial details:
* must hover over the ''blue'' part of the bar (representing the visible part of the table) and
* get the "selector" cursor (the pointing finger), then
* hold that click while scrolling (inside or outside of the table doesn't matter, as long as that click is held) to the needed table row, then
* release the click, and the table stays in place to allow a selection.
Most pages with an embedded scrollable input form (like the box I'm typing in on this page) do not change to the selector cursor when hovering over ''any'' part of the scroll bar, either ''blue'' (representing the visible part of the input form) or ''white'' (the invisible part of the input form). And it is common to click in the ''white'' part of the bar as a way of saying "show what is not visible". You can't do that with these USPS input forms, which behave differently.
Now, even with this method, that remains a very unintuitive (because the scroll bar does not reflect the position, and because the actual ''selections'' never get the "selector" cursor) and awkward way to work, so there is no visual feedback on either part of the operation.
And, I must try to understand why some browsers treat this differently. For example with Chrome (like Firefox), the cursor changes to "selector" in the blue part of the scroll bar, but not in the white part, but with Chrome (unlike Firefox):
- a ''click'' in the white ("invisible") part of the scroll bar or
- a ''drag'' on the blue ("visible") part of the scroll bar
causes movement in the required direction - altogether more intuitive behavior.
Bottom line: At least there is a way to make this work with Firefox, but it is awkward, to say the least. It will require a lot more thought to think about:
* how and why some browsers handle these non-standard input forms with such intuitive behavior (that is, behavior that is familiar in more standard input forms),
* whether the fact that Firefox is less accommodating in that regard is a reportable bug, or whether Firefox should not have to worry about sites (like usps.com) that can't be bothered to comply with standards.

Deskjet 3050A all-in-one J611 series will not allow printing from desktop with windows 8
Hello, I am trying to set up my fiances desktop to my HP DESKJET 3050A ALL-IN-ONE J611 series. It says it only supports other windows, windows 8 not being one of them. Both are wireless and I figured there has to be a way to download some software that I could install in order to hookup this computer. Please any help I could get would be appreciated.

Lion Install will not allow me to use my Mac HD
I managed to download Lion last night using the App Store. Tried installing, I can't get past the "Select the disk where you want to install Mac OA X window. I only have one partition, 100% MAC, screen states "499.76 GM Total . 350.22 GB available. Third line "This disk is used for Time Machine backups."
This HDD is my primary drive and is backed up to an external drive, not the Mac HDD. Tried to disable Time Machine, no change, tried to reboot, several times, no change.
Anyone have any ideas on how to solve this? I'm running 10.6 on a 18 Month old MacBook Pro. ThanksLook in the directories for your primary drive. If there is a Backups.backupdb directory then Lion won't install as it thinks your backups are located there. If TM is backing up to an external drive, you're safe to delete this directory on your boot volume. Then Lion will install.

Firefox 3.6.10 will not open Snapfish which runs with Firefox 3.6.9 so how do I get it to work.
Every time I open Firefox, it insists on upgrading itself to 3.6.10. Yesterday, I gave in and let it upgrade. To get my photo storage site to work, I had to "restore" my system before the download. Now it is still there wanting to upgrade itself, and I want to use Snapfish.
I admit that HP's Snapfish is always behind the times, but Snapfish remains an easy to use site. And too, I prefer to use Firefox than Explorer which works with Snapfish.Looks that you need to open an iMacros sidebar.
