Mp3 reported as wav

Is anybody trying to fix this problem in Itunes for Vista, i.e. having big wav files on the hard drive and Itunes reporting them to be Mp3's after conversion (but they remain in wav format) another Bill bull or is it not interesting to the Apple boy's. XP is managing this task every time. I don't mind wasting but we are talking about terra bite style, could be used for something more useful

Have you searched? Ik took me about 10 seconds to find something using google! http://www.javazoom.net/javalayer/javalayer.html

  • Exporting MP3's or Wav from GB

    Ok, so I have created a few multitracks that i want to share with some friends, how can I get it out og GB to Mp3 or Wav? When I export I see it is exporting as a aiff, but my QT is not opening it and when I re-open that file with GB, it is the original "multi" track, it is not combined?
    How are you guy/girls getting Mp3's or Wavs out of GB?

    I need to "publish" via iWeb an mp3 file.
    I am using GB3, and I want to "send podcast to iWeb."
    I have tried setting the preferences various ways, but the file always turns out to be an m4a. Actually, the file on iWeb says ".m4v"
    So it turns out that none of our Windows tester people can play this podcast. We are pretty sure that the vast majority of audience members for this podcast are fairly low-tech people with standard Windows machines, so this is a very big problem for us.
    I suppose it's obvious -- but we are new to audio. Have been reading everything I can find, but am stumped now -- and discouraged! Any help will be appreciated.

  • How to covert musicfiles to mp3 when tranferring WAV from iTunes to iPod

    You can't convert them on-the-fly during the transfer process.
    iTunes doesn't work like this.
    You need to convert to MP3 prior to syncing to your iPod.
    Adjust your MP3 setting in iTunes preferences, then highlight the WAV files you wish to convert and choose 'Convert Selection to MP3' from the advanced menu.

  • Cannot play MP3 after playing WAV

    My iPod Nano is already updated to the latest verison of software. However, in every time, after listening to the WAV files, it would be skipping files when I tried to play the MP3 files again. However, the reverse process is ok. That's very annoying for us to reset the iPod nano everytime. Can it be solved by updating the software? Thank you very much for the solution.

  • MP3 support for WAVE Studio 7

    Good evening. I have the X-Fi extreme audio (PCI-E). Do you know, why Wave Studio 7 is not support MP3 files?
    Thanks?

    I too have had the exact problems ever since I started using windows 7. I have had communications with tech support and all they keep telling me is to uninstall the program, re download it and it should work.
    Well, that's like watching a re-run and expecting a different ending. It's the very same file installer , I've done it 4 times or more and it still does not let you save anything.
    My conclusion is that it does NOT work on Windows 7 and they will not tell you that. I even tried an older version of Wave Studio and got the same results.
    Maybe in the future they will fix it, but for now, they won't admit to it.
    IF you should ever find a "fix" for it, please let me know as I like that program.

  • Python / Audio Conversion - I want to convert mp3 to wav

    Hi, Ive dabbled very little in actual coding, wrote one python app that these forums really helped me make, and Ive programmed in VBScript and SQL Server, but all academic, nothing for my own uses.  I need a program to convert mp3's to .wav's that can then be burned in 'Recorder' to burn the audio disc.  I know there are many scripts like this floating around, but I want to do my own, problem is, im lost.  I seem to have 2 main problems, getting the file names into a list or tuple,  and then actually running the commands to convert using a for loop using lame or mpg321.
    this bash script uses mpg321 and sox,
    #!/bin/bash
    # allmp3wav
    for i in *.mp3; do
    echo "$i"
    tgt=$(echo "$i" | sed -e "s/mp3/wav/")
    mpg123 -b 10000 -s -r 44100 "$i" | sox -t raw -r 44100 -s -w -c2 - /var/cdrom/"$tgt"
    done
    This works fine and I understand the code.  Its saying for every file that ends in .mp3, run these commands, which do the coding.  The only problem is, this doesnt work in python, since its not pythong   Can someone give me a little bit of help?  Dont give me the program, or give me to much info, links would be great.
    1 - Need to Get Directory
    2 - Loop through all the .mp3 files and add them to an array.
    3 - create a sub directory named "wav"
    mkdir ~/wav
    4 - copy all the mp3's to "wav"
    cp ARRAy to wav/
    5 - convert all .mp3's to wav
    6 - delete the copied mp3's from .wav directory
    for .mp3
    rm
    7 - tell me how many wavs were created.
    for .wav
    count + 1
    That is just a rough flow chart of what I need to do, and as you can see its pretty bare as of now.  Also, I imagine to run mpg321 or lame commands, I need some sort of lame or mpg321 module?  Ive read the python wiki for for loops and lists and tuples, but I need more info.  Thanks, Justin.

    Alright that helped alot, its almost working now, I am using Popen wrong still I assume, here is what I got.
    import os
    import subprocess
    here = os.getcwd()
    ctr = 0
    for file in os.listdir(here):
        name, ext = os.path.splitext(file)
        if ext == ".mp3":
                    p = subprocess.Popen("mpg123 -w " + name + ".wav " + name + ext , stdout=subprocess.PIPE, shell=True)
                    ctr = ctr + 1
    print ctr
    That executes, but gives this error,

    If i remove the subprocess popen, and just print name + ext and use the counter, it prints out both file name together, and how many mp3's it processed, 2.  So i know the program is doing what I want, im just converting wrong.  Thanks again.
    here is whats in the directory, there is more then mp3's, so I know it is filtering the files properly thanks to your splittext.

  • MP3 and WAV tagging Prog

    I have hundreds of albums ripped into my PC and I am trying to get all of my MP3's and WAVs tagged in the same uniform way. I want to see if any of you know of a program that I can download that will do what I am looking for. I want all of my songs to be named as follows:?0 Tom Sawyer02 Red Barchetta03 YYZ04 Limelight?As you can see I want the songs to simply have the song number and title and that is it. Over the years I have ripped CDs before I really thought of ripping them in a uniform way and now I am having to spend countless hours doing it manually. Before I spend countless more hours perhaps someone here knows of a great program that will take my songs and tag them this way. I need it to cover both MP3 and WAV if possible. Thanks!

  • Convert mp3 wav

    How do I convert an mp3 file to wav in labview? Using active X with another program, or whatever. Anyone have any examples made?
    Why can't NI just include sound vi's that use mp3 just as it does wav? Wav is impractical.
    Thx.

    Wave isn't impractical. Most compressed audio formats are lossy. The sound is good enough for the human ear, but might not be appropriate for the application.
    MP3 is a licensed format and to use it NI would probably have to pay the owners (Fraunhofer, I think) quite a lot of money.
    I don't know if you'll find any exposed ActiveX interface for converting mp3 to wave. The more likely possibilities are a DLL or a .Net class. I would try searching Google for DLLs providing this functionality and then see if you can call them in LV.

  • ITunes and QT crashes when trying to open mp4, wav and mp3

    Hi.
    QT or iTunes crashes when I try to open files such as MP3, MP4 and WAV. And even when I want to watch a video on Youtube so it only plays 2 seconds and then white box.
    I've installed QT X and then removed it and re-installed QT7 because I thought that was the problem, but I have the same problem even after re-installation of the QT Player 7 by the OSX installDVD.
    Can anyone here tell me what is the solution to this?
    Thanks.
    More info:
    Perian 1.2.3 and Flash Player are installed.

    Can anyone here tell me what is the solution to this?
    Usually by a logical process of elimination. The first step would normally be to determine if the proble is local or global. This can be tested by thre creation of a second user account and checking to see if the same problem exists. I.e., if the problem does not exist, then it is local to you first user account and may be something as simple as a corrupt PLIS file. On the other hand, if the proble exists in both user accounts, the it is a global problem like a corrupt application, a conflict with another app, or an OS-wide problem. Basically, the results of each test gives some indication of what you should try next.

  • Audio / MP3 / WAV

    Love captivate-user, I have a problem with the audio. If I of binding an audio file in MP3 format to an object on a slide captivate turns this MP3 file to a WAV file. This file is of course larger. In the library, both files will be displayed. However, it is shown that the MP3 file is not included and can be deleted. Does anyone have an idea how I can embed the smaller MP3 file in the object? Thanks for your help. Ibo

    Captivate's default process is to try and maintain the audio file internally in a high quality format to prevent it from degrading.  When Captivate publishes out it will do so as an MP3 using whatever export quality settings you have configured.  But if you were to start with a low quality compressed MP3 and then publish that you would often find the output quality to be sub optimal. Converting the imported MP3 into a WAV is Captivate's way of attempting to avoid this issue.  It's not going to bloat your output file by publishing two different audio files, so my advice is just to run with it.  Bring your audio files in as WAV to begin with if you want.

  • Mp3 audio is shorter than the same wav audio

    So i ran into this issue which i have tested several times and I get the same results.
    I start with a WAV file. Convert this to an MP3 file. And the wave forms no longer line up (causing a sync loss).
    I have had caulegues verify this independently and we have no idea why? Is this due file compression and the way Flash access it?
    Any help greatly appreciated.

    What are you using to compress the MP3 from the WAV? Since both formats are so old and well known/implemented, this is definitely a strange bug. In fact I'm going to convert something from WAV to MP3 using Audition right now to see if I see a difference in Flash Pro CC 2014 and Flash Pro CS6.
    Ok so CS6 has a slight mis-alignment but not an actual progressive problem. Here you can see in the 4000 frame range the sounds are about a frame or two off and the waveforms differ but ultimately are in sync:
    I opened the same thing in Flash Pro CC 2014 (only I had to include markers and I downgraded from 48Khz Stereo 32bit WAV to 44.1Khz Stereo 320Kbit 16bit MP3 or Flash Pro CC 2014 (but not CS6) kept erroring trying to import). They are offset just like in CS6 but are ultimately in sync. Same 4k range:
    How about some details on your source WAV and destination MP3 encode settings?
