MRP check on storage type (WM)?

Experts,
Is it possible to configure MRP in a way so that stock in a certain storage type (WM) is excluded?
Thanks,
Jan

Hi,
You can exclude str location from MRP.
Open the material master in change mode by giving input of plant & str location( which one to be exclude).
In MRP4 view, select - Exclude str location from MRP run.
When MRp run, system will not consider this str location.

Hello guys do you have any idea of where exacly the storage type in MM01 or 02 is maintained. I need complete detail in which view and where to maintain storage type in that view also the database table to check the Storage type for any material

    Hi,
It depends with your material type set- up and if you have selected tabs warehouse management 1,2  to default during material creation and then during creation  you can maintain it in your warehouse managment tabs.

  • Default settings for  source storage type and storage bin ..

    Hi,
While doing Transfer Order ,I want to make the source stage type and bin as default values.Where can I make these settings?
i am using normal WM and not Lean WM
Edited by: Roopak India on Sep 4, 2009 7:22 AM

    Please check settings as mentioned
    1. SPROEnterprise StructureAssignmentLogistic Exe check all the assignment here
    2. then SproLogistic ExeWM--master data , check whether storage types are properly defined or not
    3. then you have to Activate the search strategy at SproLogistic ExeWM--strategy --> Activate Storage type search

    hi
    thanks for givining reply

can u tell me is there any setting required in storage type .
fixed bin means which u  mentiones in wm2 view i had given only some bin which created in the storage type .is it correct.i will not activated the storage section check in storage type .
can u tell me  step by step .

    Hi,
Here you can find the prerquisits of fixbed bin putaway strategy:
    http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_03/helpdata/EN/c6/f844834afa11d182b90000e829fbfe/frameset.htm
When you get the error message, please goto menu > Enironment > Stor. Bin Search Log - here you can see what is the problem.
In LX03 you can list the existing storage bins in your stoarge type - make sure you really have the bin.

  • User Exit for Put Away for multiple storage type

    Hi All ,
we are using the exit EXIT_SAPML03T_002 for doing some capacity calculation and bin selection while doing a put away process in Ware house .
now i want to have two different type of storage types
    say
    A and B ,
if their are no empty bins in storage type A , then as per storage section search strategy the material should go in B storage type.
Both the storage type has next empty bin search strategy with user exit activated.
The difference between the two storage type is their individual capacity which is maintained in a custom table .
I am facing the problem that the exit is getting triggered only once .
ie. it will check for storage type A if the criteria is not met at a later stage while bin allocation , the system is not triggering the exit for B storage type .
do i need to do all validation and possibilities of not getting placed in storage type A in the exit . or does this exit will trigger for each storage type as per strategy if for any reason the stock is not placed in the previous storage type ?

    Hi Experts
    Thanks for the response,
As i tested for the 561 movement (initial upload) we need to do the put away manually.
So the system will not suggest Full qty to move to one Bulk and partial to different.
But for normal Goods receipt process the goods will be automatically placed to different storage type
based on the search strategy and in the Bulk structure we need to unchek the  partial pallet allowed.
If anybody has difference pls revert

  • Zero stock check for a bulk storage type

    Hi Experts,
We have a requirement to do the zero stock check for a bulk storage type. As a standard SAP it is not allowed to do the zero stock check for a bulk storage type. Is there any way to do this?
    Thanks & Regards
    Sanpan

    Hi Sanpan
I am in a similar boat.
We have a Bulk warehouse with storage types with 'B' putaway strategy. We would also like to instigate zero stock check but get the message Zero stock check not supported in bulk storage areas with storage units
    Message no. LT246
Did you find a solution to this? Or have you coded a solution?
    Many thanks

  • How to exclude stock of a particular storage type from collective availabil

How to exclude stock of a particular storage type from collective availability check in MDVP.

you can set the storage location as 'Storage location stock excluded from MRP' value '1' in the field
Sloc MRP indicator , in MRP view $ when you enter a storage location accessing the material master.
Thsi is the only way to exclude the storage location, you have to do it per each material and also it is excluded from the MRP.
With this option the stock is not considered in ATP.
IF you need the storage location in the MRP, then you should consider the use of MRP Areas.
With the MRP Areas you define which plants/storage locations belong to each MRP area and the ATP is performed for eah area with the stocks that exist in each of them.
Please if the issue is solved set the thread  as answered and provide the points to the useful replies.
    thanks for your cooperation

  • MRP-Exclude STO document type from MRP Run

    Hi,
I want to exclude STO document type from MRP run, so that STO Open qty will not be considered as open qty while  doing MRP.
I have checked below settings but didn't worked.
    1. In OMI8 - I have unchecked "Stock in Transfer"
    2. SPRO->Materials Management->Consumption-based Planning->Planning->Define torage Location MRP per plant
Here I have excluded ONE storage location from MRP and same storage location has been used in the STO.
Can anyone know how to resolve this ?
    Regards,
    Rakesh

    Rakesh,
Yes, they will not be relevant for MRP.  Neither will anything else in that storage location.  However, the setting is not in configuration, but in the material master (MRP4 tab).
The configuration setting you mentioned has no impact on existing material masters, it is only used to determine the default settings for newly created storage location entries for a material/plant..
You can set a particular material/plant/stlocn to be irrelevant for MRP.  This relevancy is irrespective of document type, it can be a STO, a purchase req, a sales order,  a production order, or it could be stock (inventory)  - all supply and demand in this material/plant/stlocn are excluded from MRP processing.
MRP relevancy of storage location is set at the material/plant/storage location level in the material master.
If you do not wish to exclude a storage location from MRP, then you will have to find another way to make your STOs Irrelevant for MRP.  As I said earlier, STOs (like any other Purchase orders that are configured to process stock ), are generally considered to be relevant for MRP.
If you were a client, I would suggest that you rethink your business model that drives this requirement.
If the business model cannot be altered, and the storage location solution is unacceptable, then you will be stuck with a customized solution.
    Best Regards,

  • RLM MRP execution at storage location

    Hello Friends,
Need help - I am configuring RLM with MRP - need help with below:
Requirement: I need to run MRP at the main storage location first (requirement is from Plant Maint order), followed by another MRP run at secondary storage locations. I want to deplete stock in the main storage location before using up stock at secondary storage locations.
This is not for re-order point planning (VB) for both storage locations, I know that I can plan MRP separately at storage location levels, but that only works with re-order point replenishment.
Is MRP area configuration my only option?
If possible I want to avoid MRP area configuration - I hear once it is configured we can revert back!

    Hi Joe,
As per your client requirement, you need to run MRP at Main storage location, and want to avoid performing at storage location, here you can define the supply chain derivation via plant Mainteniance order by using using item category and transport requistion in RLM Configuration. you have option to select the order type order type item category  ( ), item category change rule ...( newer change item category) & direct prourement type ( SAP Std ).
Yes MRP Area is the only option, the MRP first as plant level is the option, check in setting ie Step-3 Supply process derivation via plant ( supply type PD).
The parameters for the RLM Supply Process are a combination of the following:
    · Material requirements planning (MRP) type at the requesting plant or storage location (the plant making the request for materials)
    · MRP type at the supplying plant or storage location (the plant or storage location supplying the material)
    · Special procurement type at the demanding plant or storage location.

  • How to run MRP on different storage location level ?

    Dear Experts,
Need your valuable guidance to solve the below requirement form the client-
    1) My client want to enter a "safety stock level" for one spare part/ Material on the basis of individual storage locations.
For sake of example: in SL01 he wants the safety stock for particular material set to 5
In FS18 he wants the safety stock set to 2
In FS15 he wants the safety stock set to 1
Kindly tell me whether it is possible? & guide me how to do it.
    2) Also tell me how to run MRP on a storage location level?
This is because after maintaining different safety stocks for one material in different storage locations,  is it possible to appear each storage location with their differing safety stock levels?
I checked the MRP type maintained & its-1 (plant) & not as- 2 (storage location).
Kindly guide me for the above issue
Thanks in advance for your support.

    Mehul

    Hi Umashanker,
Thanks for your suggession . Accordingly I have resolved the issue.

  • Batch determination based on WM storage type stock positions

    Hello experts,
I am hoping the get some advise on the best method to achieve this:
We have batch determination turned on for select customers and the system is proposing stock that is mainly in our each or lose pick storage types (110), the issue with that is the fact that we do not pick in less then case qty for those customers so if the stock doesn't exist in our general storage the user must re-determinthe batch codes before delivery release.
This process is becoming very time consuming so I would like to improve it.
My first thought is to create a custom check in the batch search strategy that will only propose batch codes that exist in our general storage (search strategy based on WM stock positions)
Are there any other options to achieve a batch search strategy based in WM stock positions other then the one above and does that solution sound practical?

I'm not referring to the type of picking either (i'm not referring to picking strategies at all). I'm referring to storage type search criteria defined in OMLY.
"We need batch determination based on WM storage type stock positions" -> you are running BD at delivery level and therefore, there is nothing from a standard perspective that we can do to run BD based on WM storage type again. Since the BD has already occurred, we need to find other venues to direct the pick to the appropriate storage types.
This is what I'm understanding but I reckon there's something that I'm missing and so let's take the below example and then you can get back with corrections:
    R001 plant
    ZM01 storage location
    Z01 WH
    110, 120, 130, 140 storage types (110, 120, 130 are case/lose pick, and 140 is general)
Since you had mentioned earlier that the BD is running at plant level, I'd assume the storage location ZM01 is automatically determined (since the batch resides in ZM01). Since the batch is already determined, based on your 'storage search strategy' (110, 120, 130) the system tries to pick this batch in these storage types. Now, when there is no full case, you have to manually change the storage type to 140 to pick and this is where the problem is. So, I was recommending that since there is no standard way to automatically pick the full case from 140, use the enhancement.

  • Limiting Inventory Display of Storage Types within LX02

    Hello All,
We are using SAP WM and have a situation where we are contracting with a 3rd party warehouse to hold some raw materials for us.  We will have a captive user account that will only permit the employee at the 3rd party warehouse to perform certain restricted transaction codes.  In one of the transaction codes that displays WM-based inventory, we want to only have transaction code LX02 - STOCK LIST display only the storage type that represents the inventory at that facility.  We have a single WM warehouse that has multiple storage types and have allocated one storage type to represent that 3rd party warehouse location (which really is just an extension of the manufacturing plant).   For example, if I have storage types A, B, C, and D within a single WM warehouse, and I have made the decision that C represents the 3rd party location, then I only want to setup SAP security to restrict the 3rd party warehouse employee to be able to only see storage type C and not the others.   Can this be done with the proper assignment of security authorizations to allow this?  If so, what is the authorization object that controls this?
BTW, we do not want to use a separate WM warehouse or plant to control this as that results in solving the above problem but introduces many other issues and problems.
    Thanks!!

    Hi,
I checked that report and it uses logical database S1L. If you display documentation for this logical DB in SE36 you will find this section
Authorization checks for the warehouse number take place in the database.
    Warehouse number
So it does not seem that tit will work for you. What you can try to do is to enhance LX02 to perform additional authorization check. Using implicit enhancement points you can add code to the beginning of any routine. In this case you could enhance routine call_alv.
    Cheers

    Dear all,
I am doing GR for PO in WM. During TO creation I am getting this error Addition to stock of material  A in storage type 002 is not allowed. Hence  no storage bins can be entered. May I know under what scenarios this type error props up?
    Thanks  in advance,

SPRO > LE > WM > Master Data > Define Storage Type
    Check
    - putaway strategy --> V_T3010-STEIN
    - addition to existing stock indicastor ---> V_T3010-ZULAG
As you can read in the help, other factoers such as capacity may influence this.
