MS-6330 Lite K7T Pro2 Ver:1 with GeForce FX 5200, does it works?!

Hello...
I have one MS-6330 Lite K7T Pro2 Ver:1 and it Support AGP 2.0 1x/2x/4x, and I want to buy a GeForce FX 5200 that works for AGP 8x...
Question, this GeForce FX5200 will work with my MotherBoard (that supports AGP 2.0 1x/2x/4x) ?!?!
I think that´s no problem, and i´ll not have ALL the features that the board offers, but will work... do you guys know about?!

AGP cards are backward and forward compatible within limits. 1.5 V-only keyed cards will not go into 3.3 V slots and vice versa, though "Universal" slots exist which accept either type of card. AGP Pro cards (rarely used) will not fit into standard slots, but standard AGP cards will work in a Pro slot. Some newer cards like nVidia's GeForce 6-series or ATI's X800-series only have keys for 1.5 V to prevent them from installing in older mainboards without 1.5 V support. The graphic cores can only handle 0.8 V for AGP8x and 1.5 V for AGP4x and will be damaged by 3.3 V slots. Some of the last modern cards with 3.3 V support were the nVIDIA GeForce FX5000-series and the ATI Radeon 9500/9700/9800(R350) (but not 9600/9800(R360)).
to answer your question, that card will work in your board

  • K7T Pro2 Ver:1 (MS-6330) Capacitor problem

I'm working on a computer for a friend.
It has a K7T Pro2 Ver:1 (MS-6330) motherboard. The Chhsi 2700uF 6.3V capacitor at c172 appears to have failed. The other Chhsi 2700uF 6.3V capacitor at c171 looks ok.
These caps are along the side of the AGP slot. The failed cap is nearest the memory banks.
I did a search of the forum and found a similar problem at:
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=49478.0
Does this board have the same voltage regulator problem?
If I replaced the caps, how long might they last if the regulator is questionable?
Should the caps be replaced with a higher value cap, ie 2700uF 10V?
I have the equipment to swap out the caps pretty easily at work, but would it be worth it?
Can the voltage regulator be tested easily?
    Thanks for any help.
    Paul

    Hi,
I'd definitely replace any other caps of the same brand and value, and probably any others of the same brand. Make sure they are low-ESR types.
I replaced about 20 caps on my K7N420 board a few months ago, and all but a couple of them had gone bad by then. I also had to replace four transistors which I think were part of the memory voltage regulator circuits. Boards made in the 2nd and 3rd quarters of 2002 are probably the worst affected, as they were loaded with capacitors which had faulty electrolyte.
As for whether it's worth repairing, or just upgrading? In my case, it cost me about $20 (Australian) for the parts, and a couple of hours of my time, so it was cheaper than paying say $100 or so for a new mobo (and then wanting to upgrade the CPU, and the memory etc.) If I had had to pay someone else to replace the parts, it probably would not have been worth it. The other thing to consider is the impact on the environment. It's more environmentally friendly to do a simple repair on a mobo than to throw it out and replace it. But eventually, the urge to upgrade will become overwhelming. So it's a matter of personal judgement.
    Cheers

  • K7T-pro2 not boot with radeon 9200SE

    Hi,
I have a problem with a radeon 9200SE (128MB ddr). The sistem with this VGA card don't boot. When I turn on the pc, it emits 3 beeps (one long, two short) and the screen is blanck. I have just read other thread but I don't think that is a PSU problem. This are the values of my PSU:
    OUTPUT    300W MAX
    Orange: +3.3V 14A
    Yellow: +12V 10A
    Blue: -12V 0.5A
    Red: +5V 25A
    White: -5V 0.5A
    Purple: +5 VSB 3 A
    Model: WS-300P+P4
In the video card box these are the system Requirements:
Intel Pentium 4/III/II/Celeron, AMD K6/Duron/Athlon/Athlon XP or compatible with AGP 2x(3.3V), 4x(1.5V), 8x(0.8V) or Universal AGP 3.0 bus configuration(2x,4x,8x)
If I take off the radeon and I put my old TNT with 16MB Ram the pc boot perfectly.
    These are my system components:
    MSI K7T Pro2 ver. 1.0
    Athlon 750 MHz
    256 + 128 MB RAM
    Sapphire radeon 9200SE
    DVD-ROM
    CD-RW
    10GB IBM HD
    20GB Samsung HD
    Sound Blaster Live
    Dlink DFE-538 10/100 fast ethernet
    Dlink pci usb 2.0 controller
My previous pc had the same components with a ASUS P2-99B motherboard with a Pentium III 500MHz and all worked fine. The ASUS chipset was an intel 440ZX with AGP (1x,2x) and the PSU was an AT 200W (sorry but I don't have any other info about the old PSU).
Please help me, and sorry for my bad english!!
    Gabri

    Thanks for the replies.
In my motherboard there is not card near the AGP. The memories are 256MB PC133MHz and 128MB PC100 MHz. All the system but with motherboard ASUS P2-99B with intel chipset 440ZX and 200W AT PSU with +5V 20A and +12V 8A worked fine. I also tried to change BIOS setting but nothing happened.
    Thanks Gabri

you pay for it up front, and they give you a rebate or $99, so if you buy a $99 printer from them (Epson Stylus NX430 Small-in-One Color Inkjet Printer $99.95) then the printer becomes free. You can not get this deal unless you also buy a mac with it.

I tried to answer in your other post.. please stick to one thread ..
What method of internet do you have.. is this fibre install.. if so the TC should just plug in and use dhcp in router mode.. press and hold the reset and it will go back to router mode by default.

  • How can i make a soft return with pages shift enter does not work!

how can i make a soft return with pages shift plus enter does not work!!

On full keyboards with a numeric keypad, the key above the right shift is "return" & the one on the numeric section is "enter." On a Mac (or Apple IIgs ) they do have separate functions. On the "mini" keyboards, both names are on the same key, but "enter" is written in smaller letters. I'll have to check to see how that works on another Mac later today.

  • Only DVI with GeForce FX 5200

I just bought a Dual G5 1.8 off craigslist and this is the first non-integrated display computer I've owned (5 lappies later).
Purchased an Acer X223W (22in DVI input) and plugged it into the DVI port on the GeForce FX 5200. Turned on the display, then turned on the G5 and.... nothing. No video that is... the computer runs fine.
My question is this, is the DVI port only for second monitors, or should this work? I'd just stick in the system discs but joe craigslist couldn't find em and I've only got the ones that came with my macbook...
So before I go beg, borrow or buy some retail discs, I thought I'd check and see if this should work in theory
    thanks!

Okay, I've been searching and searching and It seems like this should be possible (others seem to be running just off the DVI port).
I've got the discs and used them. I've zapped the pram and restarted with the discs but still no luck...
Any ideas on how to get this mac to recognize this monitor?

  • Linking Keynote on iPod-Touch with Keynote on MacBookPro does not work.

I purchased Keynote 5.0.5(942) for my MacBookPro (MacOS 10.6.7), and
    KeynoteRemote 1.2 (53) for my iPod-Touch 4th generation.
I am trying to link KeynoteRemote on the iPodTouch with Keynote on MacBook Pro.
KeynoteRemote gives me a Passcode, which I enter in the preferences panel on Keynote for MacBookPro.
Verification does not work. Nothing happens, and after sometime an error message appears that
    verification has failed.
I have tried to do all combinations of setting the firewall on or off, and checked out all linkage and network settings.
Does anybody know what the tricks are to get KeynoteRemote to work with Keynote on MacBookPro?
Or does KeynotePro not work at all?

thanks, David. it works now. I think the problem was the firewall. I fixed it now.

  • TOC link with a subscript character does not work in PDF

    Hi,
has anyone come across with this? A heading has a subscript character and when you generate a PDF, the TOC page has no link. Other TOC heading links work out just fine, but all these that have subscript, these do not.
I have used Save As PDF and selected even create named destinations for all Paragraphs. Usually the TOC works fine even if that is not selected. A link with subscript does not work in either case.
I appreciate any help with this, thanks

    > The link is always terminated before any change in the character format. That's not a bug.
In user-authored manually-created hypertext links, sure. And in that case, we know that we have to re-apply the Marker to the various fragments of the desired text. I would not expect this behavior for a generated file where we have limited control over the auto-tagging.
    > Therefore if you have subscript or superscript applied, the link starts at the beginning of the paragraph and ends before the character format change (sub-/superscript).
It's not just format changes in body <$paratext> that break this. If you so much as apply a different format to the elements on the TOC Reference Page TOC (such as making the page number a different font), that breaks the HT of the page number in the PDF.
    > As far as I know Rick Quatro offers a FrameScript script for this problem.
Well, Adobe might consider this to be an Enhancement Request item, but I consider it to be a defect.
Is there anyone who would object if the TOC entries had functional full-string HT links by default? If so, Adobe could fix the problem, and have an Update tickbox to revert to legacy broken behavior.
In any case, the Unicode solution is not really a "work-around", even though I put it that way. For anything where Unicode has a glyph that you would otherwise implement as FrameRoman with a Character Format, use Unicode.

  • Flash video with cuepoints and skin does not work

Hi guys, i created a SWF file based on the template available
    here
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/articles/vidtemplate_mediapreso_04.html
Basically the movie has navigation buttons on the left side
of the video display to enable users to jump to predefined sections
(topics) within the video. It also has the video controls under the
    video.
I imported my video as well as the sample provided in the
webpage above and the clip does not work in Presenter. I can see
the skin but the buttons flash and we cannot see the video. I'm not
a Flash or Presenter expert. Just wondering if anyone can help
troubleshoot this. We would really like to embed a swf with
navigation buttons into Presenter. is this possible? ideas
    appreciated.
    Thanks

I'm sure someone will post a workaround for you (there are about 4 or 5 different workarounds people have posted at various times). But I wanted to thank you for your post. My experience as a very recent PC to Mac convert has been frustrating, mostly due to Keynote. When I first started using Keynote I was amazed at what it could do. I spent a lot of time working on a project (several days) only to spend another several days trying to figure out why it wouldn't Export. I finally logged onto the forums and see that people have been posting about this problem for MONTHS. It's been very frustrating to say the least and is a major flaw.
Your note is the first indication I received that Apple is truly working on this issue. I feel for people who posted months ago waiting for an update every day. Like them, I sent a support email (not answered).Your note shows both hope and progress. Apple could really convert a lot of people if it got software like Keynote to work correctly. I'm still blown away by its power. But it's like owning a Ferrari with now wheels. It has a lot of power, but there's nothing you can do with it until you get wheels.
    Cheers!

  • Geotagging with Google plugin.  Does it work?

I've just bought a little gps receiver, and I'm trying to geotag some pix. I've loaded up the Google LR geotagger plugin (http://code.google.com/p/geotag-lightroom-plugin/), and I have a gpx file with the coordinates. I tell it to geotag the photos, but I don't see the lat/long anywhere in the metadata. I've tried it both with "update originals" unchecked, and with it checked. In either case, nothing happens.
My originals are raw .nef files. Can the plugin (using exiftools) update those? I haven't been converting to dng, but maybe this is the kick in the pants that I need to do that.
Where should I see the gps coordinates in LR? Looking at some of the screen shots, it looks like there's a gps line, immediately after the lens line in the exif metadata. My metadata doesn't show that line at all.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

My Geosetter workflow is as follows, which is from LR 1.x days, though I now use LR 2.1:
    1) Import photos into LR (auto XMP writing is turned off)
    2) Use Geosetter to create XMP files with GPS information from the GPX file or by hand using the build-in map. I can work with the photos in LR while I wait for Geosetter to finish. I have Geosetter set up to add GPS information into the RAWs, themselves, along with creating an XMP sidecar. You can have it create backups of the RAWs as its adding the GPS information if you're afraid of corruption, but I eventually turned this off after nothing has ever happened and it was taking twice as much space.
    3) After Geosetter is finished, in LR use Select-All and Write Metadata to Files... for all the photos I just geotagged. LR adds its tags to the XMPs that Geosetter has just created.
    4) Use Select-All and Read Metadata from Files... for all photos just geotagged. LR reads its metadata plus the GPS tags that Geosetter created.
It is possible to geotag before importing into LR and then the GPS data will be there when you import, initially but I found that it takes minutes per photo to import when I do this, so I quit doing it, and besides I want to see and work with my photos while Geosetter is slowing embedding data into them--which takes a while because they are 15-20MB RAWs at several-seconds per file with EXIFtool doing the work.
The unbearable slowness is due to something wrong with my system, I think -- too old among other things, so just do the Geotagging after I import and do the write/read metadata and it works ok. There will be a temporary metadata-is-out-of-sync indication on the photos as Geosetter is creating the XMP but it resolves itself when you do the write then read of the metadata.
It can be slow to both write and read the metadata while the photos My Geosetter workflow is as follows, which is from LR 1.x days:
    1) Import photos into LR (auto XMP writing is turned off)
    2) Use Geosetter to create XMP files with GPS information from the GPX file or by hand using the build-in map. I can work with the photos in LR while I wait for Geosetter to finish.

My system is slow so it is faster if I select some other small directory of photos or an empty quick-collection while writing then reading the metadata, otherwise the thumbnails get updated as the metadata is being read and slows things down. On a newer, multicore system, which mine isn't, it may work just fine to have the metadata updating the visible set of thumbnails, but it's too slow on mine.
