MS Access to ORacle 8i - loading data Error

I'm able to create all the access db objects in an Oracle 8i database.
When I try to load the data I get this in the error.log file:
EXCEPTION : LoadTableData.run() : [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver does not support this function
I have MSAccess97 SR-2 installed. My ODBC Microsoft access driver is 4.00.420200
Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks!

    I created an interface in which I use as the source csv file and how to target a hive table.
    The source file is defined in a datastore so that:
      name: myfile.csv
      resource name : myfile.csv
      datastore type: table
      file format : delimited
      record separator: unix
      field separator: ,
      text delimited: "
    and it has 5 columns string type.
    the target hive table is definited in a datastore:
      name: mytable
      resource name : mytable
      datastore type: table
    and it has the same column of the myfile.csv
    I use for the interface the IKM file to hive (load Data) with this parameter:
      create target table: true;
      truncate :true;
      file is local: false;
      use staging table: false
    the remaining parameters are set to default.
    when I start the interface it snaps to the third step with the following error:

    any idea?

    Hi all,
    for those who are interested, I solved the problem below , it was file permissions of the loaded file.
    Hive moves the input file from its original path to its warehouse directory.
    In order to move the file, the agent needs write permissions on HDFS input directory. When I gave the permission, it was solved.

  • "Unable to load data" error after Windows update

    Hi all,
    I've been maintaining a LightSwitch desktop app for a couple of years now.  The app runs on a server and several client machines access it.  Sometime in the last few months, any client that has Windows Update enabled has failed to load data.  Instead
    it shows red crosses where the data should be and the tooltip, "Unable to load data. Please check your connection and try loading again."
    Other clients that don't have updates enabled are fine.  Has anyone else run into this issue?  Does anyone know how to resolve it?
    Thanks,

    Hi Angie,
    Thanks for your reply.  I've enabled diagnostics as described.  Here's what I find.

  • Oracle Pre-Load Actions error

    HI All,
    I am trying to install SAP R/3 4.7 IDES, Oracle 9 with patch 9.2.0.3.0 on 2003 Server SP2. I have encountered the following error during Database Instance installation step of Oracle Pre-load Actions .
    CJS-00084 SQL Statement or Script failed. Error Message: Executable C:\oracle\ora92/bin/sqlplus.exe returns 3.
    ERROR 2007-06-13 10:25:46
    FJS-00012 Error when executing script.
    I have already tried following solutions.
    1) directory C:\oracle\ora92/bin/sqlplus.exe is there I able to connect as sysdba
    2) I changed “C:\SAPinst_Oracle_KERNEL" name with no spaces
    3) Installed Oracle without installing Database.
    I think I am making a mistake in following two steps.
    1) I did installed Ms Loop Back adapter but what exact entry I need to put in Host file?
    2) When I installed Oracle and run “Sapserver.cmd” file, windows message popup and ask which program I want to use to open “Sapserver.rsp” file and I choose notepad.
    After Oracle installed, I run some Sqlplus commands and able to connect as sysdba but listener status command showing one listener is running and other status unknow. After installation stop, Listener status giving TNS adapter error.
    Please help.

    never change the directory name of SAPinst working directory. It is designed in this version to use a directory with spaces and it will work with it.
    What you should not do is to copy additional CDs (like Export, Kernel) into directories having blanks in the path.

    That should not happen at all.
    The response file is opened by Oracle's setup.exe which is invoked by sapserver.cmd. Is the Oracle CD located on a directory containing blanks?

  • Upload data from microsoft access to oracle form(in data block)

    Hi all,
    Any one can help me, how we can upload data from access file to developer form(in data block).
    as
    we upload data from text file to developer form(in data block) using some packages.
    Thank's in advance

    Hi Zuhair,
    If you give details of the problems you are still having then we should be able to get SQL*Developer to work.
    However, if you don't want to use SQL*Developer then the following options are taken from note 393760.1 available in Metalink if you have access to that -
    1. Use a gateway that supports the non-Oracle database or generic connectivity if a third party ODBC driver is available to do a -
    'create Oracle_table as select from non_oracle_table@database_link'
    for each table. You would then have to manually create all the other objects (views, indexes, stored procedurs etc) and permissions etc that existed in the non-Oracle database.
    2. Use the SQL*Plus COPY command to copy data from the non-Oracle database to the
    Oracle database using a gateway or generic connectivity. The syntax is as follows:
    COPY FROM username/password@oracle_sid -
    INSERT destination_oracle_table -
    USING query;
    The following example selects all rows from the EMP table in the non-Oracle database and
    inserts them into the local Oracle EMP table:
    COPY FROM SCOTT/TIGER@ora10 -
    INSERT EMP -
    USING SELECT * FROM SCOTT.EMP@gateway;
    where "gateway" is the database link created for the gateway.
    3. Load the non-Oracle data into flat files and use SQL*Loader to put the data into Oracle tables. Again manual
    work is required for the other objects.
    4. Contact the Oracle Product Technology Services (PTS) group for assistance. See the webpage -
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/migration//workbench/index_sqldev_omwb.html
    5. Use a third party migration tool. See -
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/migration/isv/third_party.html
    6. Use JDBC to connect to the non-Oracle database and Java in the Oracle database. This method will work but it is not suppported by the JDBC team.
    =========
    The amount of work involved will depend on the number and size of Access tables that you want to migrate.

    You must give your user full control to C:\program files\Oracle i.e. the folder where your BI Publisher or XML Publisher Desktop is installed, see http://boardreader.com/thread/xml_publisher_error_Run_Time_Error_76_Pa_lsptXmonb.html

  • Controlling access to Oracle Mapviewer spatial data through VPD

    I am building a web GIS application in Oracle Application Express (APEX) and have used the Virtual Private Database feature of Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition so as to ensure row level security. I've integrated APEX with Oracle Mapviewer through Oracle Maps API in order to display a map.
    VPD feature is working properly through the command prompt at the database level but I also need to use the VPD policy at the application level so that each authenticated user can only see his own spatial data on the map.
    So far I have accomplished that by creating as many data sources as the number of application users on the mapViewerConfig.xml file. Every time a user logs in the web GIS application, the correct data source is being employed.
    I was wondering if there is any other parameterised way that I can perform this access control functionality without having to create all these data sources.
    Many thanks in advance.

    Yes you can define a single "secure" MapViewer data source to achieve VPD or make use of your database VPD setup. For more details and how to get the Apex app user to MapViewer and then onto VPD you can check out my blog post here: http://oraclemaps.blogspot.com/2008/09/apex-oracle-maps-and-secure-mapping.html
    hope this helps,

  • Loading Data - Error

    I'm running 9.3.1 and I have a simple extract that contains my information. The load rule I created work seems to be converting the value 20 into FY in all my account numbers. For example account 12034 = 1FY34 and thus won't load. Has anyone seen this? I'm loading a pipe delimited file with double quotes around all the text values - including accounts. I have not had issues with any other columns.
    I am not doing any transformations in this rule. All dimensions are accounted for.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
    (i) While developing the load rule, did you do customization under:
    Field Properties +(dialog box)+ -> Global Properties +(Tab)+ -> Replace...With +(section)+ ?
    (ii) If you're loading from SQL sources, have you written any override SQL that's causing this issue?

    Hi BluShadow,
    Nothing is changed recently. Loading is happening for other files at sametime, when this loading is failed. I have renamed and recreated the table, then it is working fine. similar problem occured today for some other table.
    May i know, for any other reason it will happen?You've only supplied us with an error message and that's what the error message indicates.
    If you want more help, you need to supply more details.

  • Can i access the Oracle Demand Planning Cubes using the AWM?

    Hi All,
    Is it possible to access the Oracle Demand planning data which is stored as Express server using the Analytic workspace manager?
    Any information regarding this is really appreciated.

    Abdul Hafeez,
    Is ODP using Express Server or Oracle OLAP Analytical workspaces?
    If Express Server is being used by ODP, then you cannot create sql views for OBIEE.
    If Oracle database is being used for ODP data, then it is storing the data in Analytical workspaces. In that case, you can manually create OLAP views using OLAP_TABLE function. To do that, you will first have to know all the required structures inside the Analytical workspaces. Without that knowledge, you will not know what olap structures to "expose" in the OLAP views.
    You can read about OLAP_TABLE function from Oracle 10g documentation http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/olap.102/b14350/olap_table.htm
    If you are using 9i database for ODP, then read about OLAP_TABLE function from 9i documentation http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/olap.920/a95295/olap_tab.htm

  • How do I view Migrate Data errors - Access 2003 - Oracle 10g

    I'm trying to use the SQL Developer to migrate data from an Access 2003 database to an Oracle 10g database. I followed the instructions found here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/migration/workbench/files/omwb_getstarted.html
    I was able to complete every step except the actual data move. I exported the xml for the Access database, I captured the export and then ran the generation scripts on my target Oracle database (I'm using the same schema for the migration repository and the actual data). It created the tables with only one or two errors which I resolved.
    Now, when I select Migration->Migrate Data, I get the dialog that appears to start 4 or 5 threads and attempts to migrate each table. They all error and do not transfer any rows. I can see that there's one error per table, but I can't see the error text. I just know that an error occurred. Is there a log somewhere or is the error displayed somewhere else? How do I know what's gone wrong?
    Thanks.

    I too receive unexplained error counts using the Migrate Data menu selection and unexplained failures using the Generate Data Move Scripts menu selection. Permissions granted by role or direct grants should not be a problem, but a Migrate Data error appears in the Migration Log panel at the bottom of the SQL Developer window, "Failed to disable constraints: ORA-00942 ... ". No further details available on what constraints or why the error. No other errors were detected while following the instructions found in the Oracle SQL Developer Migration Workbench Getting Started guide. SQL Developer never migrates the data from the existing Access 2000 mdb file to the newly created schema objects in Oracle 10g using either method. The following roles and privileges have been granted to both the repository owner and the target schema owner:
    GRANT RESOURCE TO MIGRATE_USER WITH ADMIN OPTION;
    GRANT CONNECT TO MIGRATE_USER WITH ADMIN OPTION;

    -- 1 Tablespace Quota for MIGRATE_USER
    ALTER USER MIGRATE_USER QUOTA UNLIMITED ON USERS;
    Operating system for both Access 2000 and Oracle 10g is Windows XP PRO SP2.
    Oracle SQL Developer is version 1.1.2.25 build MAIN-25.79 on Windows XP PRO SP2. All three are on the same PC.
    Since only the last step failed, I created a User DSN with the ODBC administrator. Then, linked the newly created Oracle table to Access via ODBC using the DSN created. Next, I created an append query with the source being the Access table and the target being the Oracle table. I moved the data by pressing the red exclamation mark.
