iam working with MTO ,AND Custmer supplies the one of the row material  from my BOM. SO WHAT IS THE MATERIAL TYPE FOR ROW MATERIAL AND FINISHED product.remaing mateials in bom i will purchsed and do the production.and supplie the finished product to the custmer.
what is the process in sap

Dear,
You can define as material supplied by customer in BOM with ROH type go to the item details of BOM in Staus/Long text tab you will get the Material Provision Indicator as customer. And remove the costing relevancy.
Or else create these raw materials as Non-Valuated Materials(UNBW) and you can use a purchase order to recieve the material. When the Purchase order is created in the item level you need to activate the check box for "Free of charge" item.
You can receive this material via MIGO + 501 / or you can create a FOC PO for this as well. You can add this material to your BOM of the FERT material and Issue it against the orders.

    Hi PP Gurus I am running variant configuration cycle...Strategy 25, Custermer Req KEK (KMAT Matrl)
    Sales order & MRP Picked the components correctly as per the dependencies
    written. So Planned order generated against sale order.
    When I tried to convert planned order to Production order...I am getting the
    below error message..
    Error Message:
    You cannot make an assignment to make-to-order stock Message no. CO684
    Diagnosis The component cannot be allocated to an individual stock because
    make-to-order production and engineer-to-order production cannot be executed
    with this order.
    A possible cause is that you are trying to create an order with reference to a
    sales-order/project, where an account assignment to a sales order/project is not
    allowed in the settlement profile that is assigned to the chosen order type.
    This is inconsistant.
    System response The following responses are possible:
    Order processing is cancelled.
    The system resets the special stock indicator back to the original value.
    Procedure Choose another order type.
    I used order type with SD1 as settelement profile.
    OVZG: default 046, settlement profile = SD1
    OPJH: Settlement profile = SD1
    Plz through some light on this if u have worked on Variant Configuration/MTO
    settlements.
    Question:
    1) Is creation of production order with KMAT material supported by SAP?
    2) If yes, why the above error occurs?

    I have check on the note, but it is not relevant to ecc6. The current system default setting is :
    Standrad setting for reqt class 046
    Special Stock E
    Acct Assgt Cat. M
    Valuation M
    Settlmt Profile SD1
    However if I change the Acct Assgt Cat. from M to E. It resolve the problem. I would like to know is this the right solution?

    In F1 key of Consumption Posting field it shown following:
    To flag the sales order item as cost- and revenue-carrying, enter an "E" (settlement via sales order).

    Dependencies
    If you are working with nonvaluated sales order stock, always flag the sales order item as cost- and revenue-carrying.
    If you are working with valuated sales order stock:
      In the case of complex make-to-order production, flag the sales order item as cost- and revenue-carrying
      In the case of sales-order-related mass production, do not flag the sales order item as cost- and revenue-carrying

  • Selling ROH material

    Hi,
    In this scenario we have to work with different material types. When I am processing sales order to HALB, FERT, HAWA and ERSA I have no issues. Today I have this new requirement some times we may also sell raw materials to our customers as these raw materials cannot be manufactured by any external vendors. for some other scenarios, the same raw materials are components for Bill of material Items. my requirement is I have to sell raw material (which is a component of bill of material) and also some times just a raw material. for this I have to maintain sales views for both material types HALB and ROH. How to handle the process of selling raw materials as I have doubt on configuring Item-cat-group in material master with respective Item-Category. Need some help on this.

    You can override the item category manually.
    If this is an exception that does not occur too frequently  - and  - you expect that users can handle changing the item category manually as needed - this is likely the way to go.
    If this is more frequent - or you think the users will have difficulty - I would go with a different order type.
    You also need to consider the accounting requirements. Sales of raw materials are often considered cost recoveries - rather the top line revenue. If this is the case, having a separate order type 'Raw material sales' may be useful to ensure that the sales are not accounted for as 'Revenue'.

  • UNSPSC Code Mapping with Local Material Group

    We are on SRM 7.0 SP05
    We are trying to map UNSPSC Code with R/3 Material Group, which has been replicated to SRM. We have maintained the mapping table for UNSPSC with SRM Material Group.
    We are using the BADI BBP_CATALOG_TRANSFER to change the UNSPSC with a corresponding material group and are modifying the internal table enriched_item_datacategory_id field. Though we are able to successfully change it in the BADI but the changes are not reflected in the shopping cart. Does anybody know why this happens? Is there an OSS note to resolve this problem?

    We have not done anything with MDM but as for CCM, I can tell what we have done...
    In IMG: Supplier Relationship Management --> SRM Server --> Master Data --> Content Management, you can define your schemas and mappings.
    When shopping through a catalog, make sure the SCHEMA and the UNSPC are passed in the OCI stream.  If your scemas and mappings are straight-forward, then no addtional coding is required.  However, if this is not the case, addtional coding in BBP_CATALOG_TRANSFER may be needed.
    I have seen in the forums that many have recommended custom tables and mapping code in BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI.  However, I like to stick to standard as much as I can.
    This may be simplistic, but I think it will help you get a idea on the CCM side.  Sorry I could not help you with MDM.

    Hi Experts,
    I am working on IS Mill solution. we also have the configurable material. Normally the client's business is MTO. But in some cases they want to use Make To Stock also. But the problem is for make to stock with configurable material is not possible.
    As it is possible if they have APO (IS-Mill functionality). But here we are using ECC-MRP.
    Can anybody suggest some SAP note for this??

    I am working at a Danish company named Vestas Wind Systems and we want also to start up doing make-to-stock using configurable material and would like to avoid a very high number of material variants.
    We are already using APO in our company (SNP) and therefore I believe it should be a possibility.
    Is this tied together with characteristic based planning in APO?? I have heard that this characteristic based planning only is possible on one level, is that also your experience??
    I would really like to get my hands on some documentation on how to use SAP ECC and APO to handle make-to-stock of configurable materials, so if you can provide me with such documentation, it would be highly appreciated. It seems like you have some experience in this area.

  • Free goods sale with addl material

    Dear All,
    I have maintained records for free goods in VBN1 with other material code in AddMat GrGd but while creation of sale order VA01 additional material is not showing, it is taking same material as free. In VBN1 Min qty 5, FreeGdsQty-10, CalcRule -1, Free Goods 2(Exclusive).
    While creating sale order VA01 for 10 PC, it is taking same material as free for 1 pc in 2nd line and 9 PC as not free in 1st line. Plz suggest what wrong I am doing.

    Goto : VBN1--Specify the condition type for free Goods..by selectiong the req Key combination.
    Select the button Exclusive and Maintain the data for : Materiual, Minimum Qty,from,Unit of Measure,Addnal free goods,Calculation rulke , Free goods.
    *Speecify the Value for exclusive free goods *:
    Under Addinal Material Free Good (Spc the respective material  that is given as free good.).
    This will solve your Problem.
    Anywayz Further Confirmation you need to maintain is :
    Free Good Delivery Control :
    Maitain Condition Technique (SproSDBF--free good cond Tech for free goods)...there.... maintain cond tables, Access Seq cond types n Pricing Procedure.
    n Finally Activate Free Good Determination(assign the free good procedure to the combination of SORG ,DC, Div, DocPri Pro and Customer Pri Pro)

    To follow the note 180317, I change Account Assignment Category to "U" (Unknown).
    However, the system still does display the same error.

  • Delivery costs with no material

    Hi gurus:
    I have a situation, i need to create a PO with Account assignment category "K" and with no material, only text description, and I put de  G/L account number    and cost Center. I want to calculate the delivery cost but in the transaction MIGO there is not values.
    I already have inbound delivery, shipment and shipment cost.
    My question is: is possible to generate delivery costs if in the purchase order don't have the material?
    I tried using a material type NLAG and in this situation the delivery costs are calculated.

  • Can't create free PO with the material which material type is UNBW

    When I create a free PO with the material which material type is UNBW , error happens as below:
    Account assignment mandatory for material *** (enter acc. ***. cat.)
    There is no provision for value-based inventory management for this material type in this plant. Account assignment is thus necessary.
    But I use UNBW material type just because it's only QTY updating, and no value update.
    So this PO should has no relationship to FI document and any GL account or cost center.
    How can I create PO and GR for UNBW material in SAP system?
    Please tell me the solution in detail, thanks!

           Same scenario i have done in SAP. when we create free P.O then condition tab is automatically remove from the item level.
          But Cost Center and G/L account will compulsory. May be because of inventory. Inventory should affect the cost center and G/L account.

    Created Agreement Type with Material Rebate
    Created Rebate Pricing Procedure
    Created Schema Group, Vendor
    Maintained  Purchase Rebate Agreement via MEB1 and created a Purchase Order where I could able to view the Rebate condition type gets determined based on the rebate agreement which has been created for a specific material.
    Now from experts I would like to know the Volume based rebate arrangements Purchase Rebate Process with Vendor - Material Group combination in SAP .
    If required provide with detail steps explaining what configuration and master data to be in place to complete this process.

    There is no Inventory report with external material group field in SAP so consult Abaper to develop the customized report.

  • Query rewrites with Nested materialized views with different aggregations

    Platform used : Oracle 11g.
    Here is a simple fact table (with measures m1,m2) and dimensions (a) Location (b) Calendar and (c) Product. The business problem is that aggregation operator for measure m1,m2 are different along location dimension and Calendar dimension. The intention is to preaggregate the measures for a product along the calendar dimension and Location dimension and store it as materialized views.
    The direct option is to define a materialized view with Inline queries (Because of the different aggrergation operator, it is not possible to write a query without Inline query). http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28313/qradv.htm#BABEAJBF documents the limitations that it works only for 'Text match' and 'Equivalent queries' and that is too limiting.
    So decided to have nested materialized view, with first view having just joins(my_dim_mvw_joins), the second view having aggregations along Calendar dimension (my_dim_mvw_calendar) and third view having aggregations along the Location dimension(my_dim_mvw_location). Obviously I do not want the query I fire to know about materialized views and I fire it against the fact table. I see that for the fired query (Which needs aggregations along both Calendar and Location), is rewritten with just second materialized view but not the third. (Had set QUERY_REWRITE_INTEGRITY as TRUSTED) .
    Wanted to know whether there are limitations on Query Writes with nested materialized views? Thanks

    This Query rewrites only with my_dim_mvw_calendar. (as saw in Query Plan and EXPLAIN_MVIEW). But we would like it to use my_dim_mvw_location as that has aggregations for both dimensions.
