Multi Display on K230

Has anyone got ANY vidio card to be reconized on the K230 for multi display?  I have tried two cards, both were not reconized by the bios but actually did work on Vista at VGA default.
No one in the support staff have a clue on making this work.  There must be one card the bios will see and work.  Why put the expansion bus in if you can not use them......?

I used the Nvidia 8400GS PCI.  Bios did not see it, Windows device manager did not see it, however the computer was using the card as a VGA default (Intel onboard card was disabled in the bios).
I don't remember the other card, sent it back.
I have ordered the Nvidia 8600 to see if that will work, seen in a post that it did.
Also see post:  K230 64 bit with Vista Ultimate, this is a post I did awhile back without any success.

  • Xcode Multi Display Program

    Hey guys,
So I'm trying to create a program in xcode that allows you to display dynamic content on an external display in a full screen window, and on the primary screen, have a window that has controls for the content.  Here is my question:
How do I get the display window to 1. Start on the external display, and 2. Get it to go full screen?  I know how to enable full screen on the windows, but when I have the window on the external screen and click full screen, it slides over to the primary display and goes fullscreen.
Once I get this enabled its smooth sailing from here.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks! Unchecking of that checkbox — Displays Have Separate Spaces in Mission Control pref — helps! It’s so unintuitive to go there.
Some apps still misbehave but minor. Call Recorder, for example, (an add-on to Skype) is now flung way over to the opposite end of the other display. Weird.
    But the bigger problems remain:
    1. Brightness is still manual. Automatically Adjust Brightness controls only one (primary) display? No effect on a 2010 LED 24-inch Apple display?!
    2. Excel windows still float off beyond the screen. Is MS Excel for Mac 2011 considered incompatible with Mavericks? Every functionality in Excel works fine, except that windows saved in a position outside the display area, like older documents, remain fixed outside the display area! So if the title bar is not visible, there’s no way to grab it and move it! I have to temporarily re-ARRANGE the displays again and again! Then do a save-as or duplicate the document. Uggghh.
Finder windows still don’t keep their views but probably not a multi display issue.

  • Multi-display windows under Mavericks

Under 10.6.8, it has been my habit (and pleasure) to open very wide terminal windows across as many as three displays in order to see the results of somewhat wide database queries without text wrapping, which affects readability and cuts the number of lines visible on the display window at once.
Under 10.9.3, when I adjust a window over towards another display so that the window would be on both displays, the window is "ghosted" until I let go of the drag bar, and if the move has not fully adjusted the window to land entirely on the display it is moving into, that half of the window promptly disappears.
Am I missing something about window positioning under Mavericks? Or, is there any way to regain the previous, multi-display-friendly window handling in Mavericks?

  • How can I operate  multi displays on my Imac 21.5 quad core 2.5 and have each display function independently?

how can I operate  multi displays on my Imac 21.5 quad core 2.5 using Lion and have each display function independently?

Below are some converters/adapters to look at.  If these look like they may work:
USB 2.0 to HDMI Audio Video 1080P Adapter for Windows and Macbook
Matrox DualHead2Go D2G-A2D-IF (or look here)
These should allow you to run multiple displays in extended display mode.  Note that these use HDMI as an output so you would need some additional adapter to conver HDMI to whatever your displays require.  Of course these suggestions are all academic if such an adapter doesn't exist.
    Update:
I just reread your last post and I am confused.  Is it only your TV that you are trying to run in extended display mode?  I thought you wanted more than two displays.  If only  the TV it should just work if you are not using mirrored displays.  Your Displays Arrangement tab should show both your main screen (one with the little whith menu bar) and the TV.  Set the proper resolution and refresh rate for the TV using it's Displays preference window.  That is all you need to basically do (ignoring overscan/underscan problems).
Note, if you are using Lion then I have heard that when using full screen mode in Lion additional screens show nothing.

If the monitor can be detected your Displays preferences should show it in its Arrangement panel.  You may have to play around with your Display panel to get the desired resolution.  And also may have to click detect displays and gather windows to see both sets of preferences on your main screen.

  • Lion and Multi-Display (2 external monitors + built-in Display) [Thunderbolt, USB adapters/eVGA UV+]

    Hi everyone,
I just completed an upgrade to Lion and while I love it I've suddenly found myself short 1 display. I use 2x24" with my MacBook Pro - 1 via mini Display Port [the Thunderbolt port] and another via an eVGA UV+ [both displays have a resolution of 1920x1080].
There are two things that I am wondering about:
Has anyone else who's upgraded found their UV+ adapter to be useless all of the sudden? I'm contacting eVGA to find out how soon we can expect a functional OSX 10.7 Lion driver for that but in the meantime...
Has anyone heard anything of a Thunderbolt splitter "adapter" - it is obvious that you can have 2 displays chained to a MacBook Pro, as long as both of these displays are of the Thunderbolt Cinema Display variety ... seeing as I don't have two grand and already own 2 smaller monitors that I'd been using with Snow Leopard for quite some time now I was curious if there's just a way to ditch the USB adapter and just have the Thunderbolt port on my 2011 MBP drive both displays (I am fully aware that the GPU is capable of it but have yet to find a hardware display port or thunderbolt cable that splits in 2 so I can just hook each display into it and call it a day).
Thank in advance to anyone and everyone who provides any information related to that stuff as I'd greatly appreciate your help ... once you're used to the extra screen real estate going down from 3 screens to 2 can be pretty painful.
On that same note a general observation about Lion is that while I love full-screen apps I'll barely ever use them whenever I have external displays hooked up as Lion seems to insist on making the full screen app go to the primary display while completely blocking off the secondary display (rendering it useless). Hoping that Apple will make the UX for mulit-display folks nicer someday, I know their focus was just to release Lion now but there's absolutely room for improvement as far as that goes.
Thanks in advance to anyone and everyone who responds to this post!

Turns out that's not truly the case - see http://www.macrumors.com/2011/09/16/apple-thunderbolt-display-with-multiple-moni tors/ for details but the short of it is that if you just get one and plug in a Display Port Monitor you won't get that extra screen real estate after all.
Yes... the actual marketing 'statement' says you are unable to connect the mDP display "directly" to the back of the new TB display.  Yes...
But... from what i hear...  if you have some other TB display "directly" connected to the downstream of the TB display, you can 'then' add your older mDP display to the chain at that point.  You just can't have the older mDP directly to the new TB display.
And this still stands true if you read previous info from Apple website.  It's all about the wording...
So basically, you should still be able to have your MBPro + New TB display + (some other TB device w/ 2 ports) + old mDP display.

  • ML, Parallels (Aspen Hysys) and multi-display. How much RAM do I need?

    Hello, I'm a proud owner of a 13-inch Mid '10 MB with a 2.4 Intel Core 2 Duo Processor.
I recently upgraded my machine with a 250 GB Samsung 840 SSD and bought an enclosure for my original 250 GB HDD to sit on.
I'm in ML 10.8.3 and need to use Parallels to run Aspen HYSYS in a 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate edition and I'm planning to use a second display to run Aspen Hysys while using normally ML (Google Chrome, Mail, Excel and Word) in my MB.
I actually have 2 GB of RAM in my MB and I'm planning to upgrade it so I can run smoothly Parallels and use both displays.
I've read tons of times that this MB can handle 8 GB and even 16 GB RAM from OWC, but I think the 2x8 GB RAM is too expensive.
Can my MB run smoothly with 8 GB all the features mentioned above, or should I make an effort and get the 16 GB RAM?
    Thanks.

It's really difficult to interpret some posts because
acceptable performance to some is unacceptable to
    others.
Good point. To be more precise about my post when using 4GB and running Aperture and CS3 with Activity monitor also running to show me memory use I found that I was running out of available memory and noticing a consequent slow down about 30% of the time. Most of the time (aproximately 70%) the 4GB seemed to be sufficient.
I should note that this did not include much work in CS3 with large layered files. Since I expect to have more large files working in Photoshop in the next few months I jumped to 8GB. I have only had a couple of weeks with that configuration but my impression now is that I am virtually never seeing a slow down due to using up all the available RAM.
The performance of my system even with 4GB and running slightly slower might have been acceptable to some. I thought I could afford the upgrade and went for it. Partially that was because I think that the Mac Pro is the best desktop computer that Apple has ever made and I am likely to be holding on to this one for a bit longer than my usual 18-24 months.

  • More MacPro6,1 Multi-Display Woes

I have 3 older Dell 24" monitors (2 2408WFP's and 1 ST2420L) attached to my 2013 Mac Pro via 1 mDP to active dual-link DVI and 2 mDP to single link DVI adapters. The monitors function flawlessly - until the system puts them to sleep. Each time it wakes, I have to reconfigure the display arrangement including which display is the "main". I have tried many different combinations (I won't say "all" but I bet that I have) of which monitor uses the dual-link adapter and which get the single links and to which ports they are attached on the machine. It makes no difference. And the arrangement and main display that is chosen when it comes back from monitor sleep appears to be quite random. (It occasionaly gets it right, but not very often.)
I perused the discussion board and haven't seen this topic (at least in recent titles). Are others experiencing this behavior or is it something peculiar to my setup?
    Thanks,

I purchased the iVw4 Standalone Videowall controller from www.iiview.com i have manage to output my adobe graphical work on four screens each at 19" as this unit can display in various modes clone mode, full mode or vertical replication.. it is awsome to see your work on such a big screen though planning to put 4x 42" screens together... what i wanted to know is there any way of overlaying a video footage of adobe premiere work independently over the existing application. any help would be appreciated.

I understand that you need the driver for your system.
The drivers are available under graphics in this document.
However, if the driver on the site is not working for you, I recommend posting in the business support forums found here.

  • OS X Maverick Multi Display Support for grouping multiple monitors into one display?

Will the new Mac Pro be capable of grouping multiple monitors into one large display?  Similar to AMD Eyefinity for the purpose of gaming.

The current Mac Pro, or any Mac released since 1987 that can support multiple displays can ALREADY support combining all attached displays into one Extended Desktop, onto which you can open the gaming window and game across multiple displays. It is built into the System Software.

  • Dock & Multi Display Support

So I installed Mavericks on my early MBP2011 all went fine and everything seems to work except the dock with plugged into an external monitor, I have my dock on auto hide and so far it seems that when using an external monitor the dock doesnt react the same as if I was on my laptop display, any comments and suggestions are welcomed.  Do you have the same issue??

DVI to VGA works fine on this card.
Note that I'm having problems getting dual headed TFT's working (LG).
If you're on CRT's you'r OK. TFT's - a Samsung works fine on DVI port, my LG's aren't detected on the DVI port during boot.
    good luck.

  • Multi-Display system

    A series of mirrors ...

Hopefully, this will be easy and my brain is not in gear-
    I have a wall with 6 display units - 4 Dell 22" monitors, 2 Samsung 40" TV/Displays.
They are all wired into one Dell Precision. I have a monitor/keyboard/mouse on my desk to control it all.  This was easy when I was in the same room and could just move applications to each monitor while looking at the wall (Extended desktop).
I have been moved into a separate room from  the display now. I can no longer just drag over like I had been doing. Looking for something that allows me to manage all the displays from desk in the other room. Tried  the Desktops -Sysinternals, no luck.
Sounds so simple, yet, here I am, struggling..
    Thanks

  • Multi Display since upgrade

Sadly i succumbed to Microsoft's constant bombarding for a free windows 8.1 upgrade and am now kicking myself.
    I have a HP110-052ea Desktop PC now running windows 8.1, 64bit mode
Before updating i was happily running 2 monitors and a connection to my tv now i can only run 1 and it is not like the system doesnt know there is more than one connected.
when i start up my digital monitor starts up until the point when windows starts to display the splash screen it then switches to the avi monitor.
I used to be able to go to display settings and arrange monmitors and telly how i want but now i do not have the option it says i only have one monitor.
The telly is connects via a USB dongle and always worked well and whilst it recognises it in device manager it will not allow me to display on it
I have tried downloading the latest drivers from site but still no joy they have made no difference
Device manager tells me graphic device is working correct but it is yellow flagged
    can anyone help ?

    Hello again @Tonynash,
I suspect that there may be more that went wrong than just your display. I am going to recommend that you do a backup and full factory recovery of your computer. This will fix your restore feature as well as the tools partition that is also not working. To backup your personal information and ensure that it is not lost I would like you to review and follow the steps set out in the HP Support document: Backing Up Your Files (Windows 8), which will ensure your personal files are up to date.
***WARNING!! If you want to keep any emails or bookmarks/favorites you will want to back those up as well as I do not believe they are backed up in the HP Backup process.
Next, I would like you to review and follow the steps set out in the HP Support document: Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 8), which will you through recovering your computer back to factory settings.
*** IMPORTANT - Your personal files such as libraries, personalization settings, user accounts, and desktop themes are permanently removed. As well the computer settings are returned to the defaults (the way it was when it came from the factory). All apps and software that were installed on the computer when it came from the factory are reinstalled, and their settings are reset to the defaults. Additionally, software, apps, programs, and everything that you have installed or saved on the computer are permanently removed.
I would like to thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Multi-display overlay

    Hi
I'm using a matrox triplehead2go external card to connect my macbook pro to 2 LCD projectors. This allow me to have a panoramic projection.
I'm trying to find a way to overlay the 2 external screens. When I use the OS X display menu, I can see the 3 blue rectangles. The main one (mbp) is beyond the others (LCD projectors). I can move the rectangle anywhere and put them side by side but no way to overlay one on another.
The aim is to find a way to overlay the 2 partitions and then use a soft edge blending software to have a perfect panoramic projection. Any idea?
Hope to be clear, my english is not perfect.
    Thanks to all
    Paul

I do not believe this is possible.
You'll just have to precisely align the two projectors to create the seamless display.

  • Multi Display Client

Is it possible to choose which monitor is viewed and controlled in ARD? I am having a tough time administrating some edit stations from my 15” laptop. The clients I have are using 2 monitors. One display is set to 1280x1024, and the other is set to 1920x1080 (for HD playback).
I would like to be able to control the primary 1280x1024 monitor, but have the option to control the 1920x1080 monitor if needed.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
sorry for such a late reply. I tried modifying the java bean to resize the JScrollPane object also but even that didn't work. Then I hardcoded the size of my Java Bean in my forms code by trial and error. For example, the size of the bean area was 381x169. The values that I had to pass to the "setSize" bean method were 510x195. This made the bean exactly fit the bean area. Seems crazy to me, but there it is.
    Anyway, thank you.
