Multi-machine configuration

how do i configure the Master and other machines in a Multimachine configuration.
i have 10 machines.
In RESOURCES
MASTER appsvr_1 appsvr_2
MACHINES
byspa01 LMID=appsvr_1
byspa02 LMID=appsvr_2
byspa02 LMID=appsvr_3
Is this a right configuration?
Or should LMID be same as Master? PLease advise.
Thanks
sushil.

This is a very general question. I'd recommend the documentation section at
http://e-docs.bea.com/tuxedo/tux81/ads/adfig.htm#1253022 for a good overview
of how to set up a multi-machine configuration file.
Also, you may want to work with some of the Tuxedo sample applications to
get a feel for how to set up a Tuxedo configuration file. The bankapp
sample application located in $TUXDIR/samples/atmi/bankapp has a 2-machine
configuration and is a good application to gain familiarity with Tuxedo in a
multiple machine environment.

  • Multi-Machine Blueprint- How to share IPs, passwords, etc..

I am trying to configure a multi-machine deployment in Application Director. I want the machines to have each others IPs, db passwords, and things like that. So they can all run together in a little environment hosting apps and websites. I am looking for help on how to share these variables with all the VMs in the blueprint. I see some out of the box examples in App D, but I don't find a properties dictionary or any docs that explain how to accomplish this. I have attached a pic to show what VMware has done out of the box. Notice the "appserver_node_ips" and the text in the value column.
Does anybody know how to set this up or where to get info that explains these properties and their options?

You can use component dependencies to share property values between components. E.g.
Say I have a node which will have 2 app components on it.
    Component c1 has properties
    p1
    p2
    Component c2 has properties
    p3
    p4
    p1copy
    p2copy
If you look in the upper right of the Blueprint builder there is a chain icon which lets you define dependencies between components (either on the same nodes or different ones)
With a dependency in place between my example components (c2 depends on c1) we can then bind the p1copy property value in c2  to the value in c1 in the following notation
    self:c1.p1
    This expression breaks down as
    <node name>:<component name>:<property name>
    Quite simple and very powerful
Also, there are some built-ins for each node such as
    self:ip
    self:hostname
    etc.
This is all mostly in the docs but you'll wrap your head around it pretty quickly if you play about with it

  • ISE 1.2 AUP Multi-Portal Configuration

Currently we have ISE 1.2 configured using a multi-portal configuration.  We use a guest portal for both Guest Access and for devices we consider non-compliant employee.  Guest users are authenticated against an inernal user database in ISE, and the company owned devices auth against AD.  If we login with a guest account that was created using the sponsor portal, we do not get the acceptable usage policy to check before getting access. If we login using the AD account, we do get the Acceptable Usage Policy to check before getting access.  It appears this is the same portal, so why do we not get it for both?

  • How to create a multi-level configuration sales order?

    Hi,
My client use configurable material to sell computers. And the production mode is MTO. One sales order item correspond with a production order
Now my client also sell array which consist of two computers, two storage, one UPS power etc. That means I must realize multi-level configuration. First, choose the computer type. Second, based on the choosed computer in first step, choose the cpu, disk and so on. And then based on the sales order item, there must be several production order related to the same sales order item.
Now I have semi-finished product B1,B2--computer. Class type is 300. Many characteristics is allocated to the class. B type material has the BOM which consist of cpu, disk etc.
Then I created the finished product A--array. Class type is 300. Allocated characteristics is the B1,B2. A has the BOM which consist of B1,B2 etc.
When I create sales order, I can only config the first level, choose computers for A, can not choose cpu, disk for computers.
So, how can I find a solution for this scenario?
        Thanks in advance.

    Thanks, Waza
    1.  Does the Sales order BOM explode in the sales order?
No. Just one top item would be ok for my client.
    2. Why do thy want this in the sales order?  They can explode the BOM in the production order, do they then need pricing at the component level?
They do not need pricing at the component level. Exploding the BOM in the production order is acceptable. But how can I config the configurable material in components of production order?
I tried collective order, but the second level of configurable material can not generate production order. I just make use of special procurement 52 in MRP2 of top finished product. Is there something I missed?
    Thanks again.

  • Windows server 2012 failover cluster error: Cluster resource 'Virtual Machine Configuration ... of type 'Virtual machine configuration in clustered role ... failed.

I have two windows 2012 host server that are clustered using windows failover cluster feature. Each server is hosting four VMs. When migrating from Host2 to Host1, the migration failed with the following error:
Cluster resource 'Virtual Machine Configuration SCPCSQLSRV01' of type 'Virtual Machine Configuration' in clustered role 'SCPCSQLSRV01' failed. The error code was '0x569' ('Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer.').
When this happens, the VM that I was migrating can no longer be started even on the original host. The only remedy is to restart the host server.
Any suggestion on resolving this problem?
    Thanks

Thanks. The article referred to above gives the solution to my issue. There is a group policy that is applied to the OU where the host servers were placed. Doing gpupdate /force temporarily removes the problem. Unfortunately the NT Virtual Machine\Virtual
Machines account is a special account that cannot be added like other accounts and granted the log on as a service right. The thread
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverhyperv/thread/d56f2eae-726e-409a-8813-670a406593e8 contains how it can be added which is by creating a group and running the command
Net localgroup VMTest “NT Virtual Machine\Virtual Machines” /add
to add it to a local group VMTest. VMTest is then assigned the right to log on as a service.

  • Adobe After Effects CC 2014 Multi-machine rendering does not create RCF after Collect-File

This was working in the previous release.  After going through all of the steps to perform a multi-machine render, not only does it say it is limiting it to 5 machines instead of the usual 99 (and I have over 100 cores on the render farm) but "Collect Files" (File/Dependencies/Collect Files) does not create the Render Control File (RCF) that kicks off the process on the other machines, like it did before and is supposed to do.
This release was supposed to fix the 32 core limitation on render nodes (my server has 48), but now does nothing at all.
Anyway, I assume there is a check box somewhere that says "do something" that hasn't been checked and another that says "Maybe my machine has more than 5 cores", and I would appreciate being steered in the direction of these new mis-features.
Just as background, the 48 core server does show the little TV screen that monitors the watch folder, and I know for a fact that process looks for the "RCF" file.  Looking at the directory specified for "collect files", I can see that no RCF file is created, only 1 file, a report.txt file which contains this information is produced:
    Report created:

The dialog box has been slightly refactored.  You must click "Allow watch folder rendering" and then all is good.  Hope this helps anyone else.  Thanks to Rafil at customer support chat for this.

  • 22591 The specified computer name (%ComputerName;) is already in use by another virtual machine or by a virtual machine configuration object. Ensure that the computer name is unique in the VMM environment, and then try again.

    Hello everyone,
I recently bummed into an error message when I want to deploy a service template.
    Setup:
    1 HyperV server on win2k12 r2
1 SCCM VMM 2k12r2 on the hyperv server
1 template with all the objects in the library
    Error:
When I deploy the the service template I get the below error message.
    22591
The specified computer name (%ComputerName;) is already in use by another virtual machine or by a virtual machine configuration object.
Ensure that the computer name is unique in the VMM environment, and then try again.
The issue is that I can't find it anywhere, not on my domain controller not on my dns server as a record and also not as a vm in sccm or in powershell when doing get-vm. So where do I need to remove it ( no it is not an option to create a new Hostname for
    this service template ).
    Andre

There could be a couple things happening.
One - you have a Service Template, it defines %Computername% as a variable.  And you have deployed this Template once using 'foo' and you are deploying it again as 'foo' without deleting the previous instance.
Two - you hardcoded the computer name into the template.
Three - you are scaling out and you have hit the bug that the wizard does not increment the machinename if you have something like computername## where SCVMM should be incrementing the machine name.
Windows does not support identically named machines (you can't have two machines on the same network with the same computer name - they broadcast their name and the 'second' one shuts down its network stack).  In support of this SCVMM also enforces
    this rule.
And with any templates SCVMM is in charge of machine names at deployment.

  • After Effects multi machine render frames have different settings.

I am using AE multi machine render settings over a network drive with 2 machines.  Comp includes elements from Video Copilot plugins.  The ambient occlusion settings appear to differ despite the same AE project being open on both machines.  Certain elements in the comp are rending with slightly different settings for each machine, creating a flicker effect when played back at the intended video fps.  Both machines have all the necessary elements installed locally to complete an exact identical render.  What am I doing wrong?

Well, have you actually tested it? E3D will e.g. truncate the number of samples to the highest possible value internally, but still allow you to overcrank sliders. This sounds like exactly that - you may have set 32 samples or whatever, but internally only 16 or 8 are used. You can only find that out by actually interactively opening the project and changing those values.

  • T430s - cannot get supported multi-monitor configuration to work

    Hi all,
I just purchased a new T430s and, overall, I've been very happy with it.  However, I'm having trouble getting a particular multi-monitor configuration to work.  Very simply, I am trying to get the very first configuration as is described on this page...
    http://lnv.gy/15YWJnf
It is simply a 3-monitor setup where one monitor is external and hooked up via VGA, another monitor is external and hooked up via DisplayPort, and the third monitor is the actual laptop monitor.  I simply cannot get this to work!  I can plug in a single external monitor, but when I try and plug in a second, it always disables my laptop monitor, so I end up with only a 2-monitor setup.  Can anyone please help?
*Also, I should note, I've called Lenovo Support 3 times after encountering this problem, and, suffice it to say, it was an EXTREMELY frustrating and discouraiging experience.  All in all, I spent over 2 hours on the phone and each time, they essentially REFUSED to help me!  They kept citing that it was a "configuration" issue and that it's not their problem, and then they'd forward me to another department which would then forward me right back to them.  At one point, one rep said that I was essentially "**bleep** out of luck".  Furthermore, when I was getting frustrated with the lack of help, I asked a rep to escalate the issue and allow me to talk to a manager.  He said that he COULDN'T DO IT because the system wouldn't allow it, again, citing that it's a configuration issue and not their responsibility!  Does anyone from Lenovo ever read these forums?  Will someone PLEASE take ownership of this issue and help me out?  I'm not asking for much!  I just want to get a setup that you guys say is supported!
Sorry for the rant, but my interactions with Lenovo support have really been frustrating.  Anyways, any help would be much appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

    whoischarles,
Welcome to the forum!  Thanks for the question and  tweet about this thread.  Thanks Lead_Org for getting us started... I know you have tried out a number of multiple display configs, so you may have some follow up suggestions....
    As far as I know...
The T430s supports external displays a little differently than the T420s did, and differently than the T430 and T530 do.  There are a number of different discussions on T430s multiple display configs in the forum - you might search a few and just browse them to see the combinations others have tried and their experiences.  Here is one example.  Here is another more recent.
    Here is another more recent.
Here is an official tip with specific configs that Lenovo supports for the T430s.
From our official tip, it appears that you cannot have both the LCD and external VGA and displayport.  I think you can have 2 external displayport displays and either a 3rd external via VGA port, or the built in LCD.   I remember trying out some of these a year or so ago, and I seem to recall that you needed a dock to get 3 external, or 2 external and the internal LCD to work on the T430s.

  • Using Basic or Multi-tier configuration for WLS Clusters...

    Ok,
The scenario is: I'm using WLS6.1 (hopefully, version doesn't matter here)
with three instances clustered. Each instance provides all Services:
Servlets / JSPs/ EJBs / Database communication... I'm using the Basic
configuration described on the BEA documentation....
Now, I want to move forward to a Multi-tier configuration, where the first
layer will serve Servlets and JSPs and the second layer will serve EJBs.
The problem: On the first scenario, I was looking EJBs with the Default
InitialContext() constructor without the environment, since everybody was on
              the same JVM...
What do I have to do, so my Servlets start looking for EJBs on the second
cluster now? Do I have to re-write every single lookup? Can I use a
jndi.properties file on the first layer - on the presentation tier?
              Thanks in Advance,
              Marcelo.

              Thanks Patrick!
But my actual problem starts here. The Servlets aren't mine. We have to support
applications which run atop our product(which is a bunch of beans+RMI Objects
running on the top of WLS) in a backward compatible way with a standalone.
Will try and make a post if I can find a 'configurable' way out.

  • AE CC Multi-Machine Rendering: Still asking for Adobe ID on Render Engine App Launch

    Hi everyone,
I'm sure this is a fairly simple fix, but I have looked for quite a while through blogs and AE documentation and I just can't get it figured out.
I'm trying to set up my first multi-machine render farm with AE CC. All machines for the render farm are running Windows 7 and are networked via Gigabit Ethernet Switch. I understand that I can have CC installed on 2 computers with my membership and then I can install a number of Render-Only instances of AE. The problem is I am trying to set up one of my 3 machines in render-only, yet I am still being asked to sign in with my Adobe ID when I launch the Render Engine App. I can't sign in a third time or it will ask me if I want to sign out of all of the other computers that are licensed under my name. I've attached screenshots of what it shows.
I have already put the ae_render_only_node.txt file in the correct place as per the Adobe documentation (C:\Users\<myusername>\My Documents)
Any thoughts? I'm guessing I'm doing something dumb, but I just can't pinpoint it.
    Thanks for any help!

One thing to check: in Windows Explorer, go to the Tools menu > Folder Options. Disable "Hide extensions for known file types". Having done so, is the file still named "ae_render_only_node.txt", or does it have an extra .txt on the end?
If not, what happens if you move the file to the alternate location? C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Adobe

  • R12 Single node to Multi-node Configuration

    Hi All!
We have a single node setup (Applications and Database are on the same server). Now, our management decided to setup a Multi-node configuration and i'm the one who will do this.
The plan is to use Oracle ASM and RAC for the database and for the Application is to have a multiple application servers. For the database, we will be using a minimum of 3 servers and another 3 servers for the application. Is this possible? How can this be done. Can someone point or give some link or infos on how to do this. We're going to use the existing data on the single node server.

  • How to request multi-machine blueprint information through rest api.

We are building a portal in front of vRealize (don't ask me why) and I need to dynamically create multi-machine json files to request catalog items.
If I connect through the api I can request the Blueprint details but not the additional blueprints it makes use of.
Does anyone know how to request these additional information out of the rest api catalog?
    Thx in advance.

The following method, unlike those above, will work. It requires you to know the MIME type of the binary file you wish to upload. This example uploads a PDF document.

  • Multi-machine sequence missing from AE?

    Hi there
after i installed the script BG Render, not sure what happened but multi-machine sequence becomes missing from AE as it says on startup that there is an output module missing from after effects, really need to solve this as I am running out of time, if anyone knows how to repair this or a solution please help!
    Thanks

If you have deleted one of the default Output Module or Render Settings templates, there are a couple of ways to get them back.
On a different computer that has the templates, save the templates from the template editor dialogs (Edit > Templates), copy the resulting .aom or .ars file to the machine where the template is missing, and load the saved templates.
Trash the preferences file. If you're using After Effects CC, you only need to delete the Adobe After Effects 12.0 Prefs-indep-output.txt or Adobe After Effects 12.0 Prefs-indep-render.txt file. For earlier versions of After Effects, you'll need to trash the whole main prefs file (for CS6, Adobe After Effects 11.0-x64 Prefs.txt). To find these files, see the Reveal Preferences section in After Effects Help.

  • Why does multi-machine rendering work so poorly?

more specifically, watch folder rendering with multi-machines is pointless because skipping a frame seeming to take as long as rendering the frame, so one machine can never catch up to the other.  why does skipping a frame take some long?  i mean it's been in the software for like 10 years. is this not considered important?

These two features are not intended to be used together.
Render Multiple Frames Simultaneously multiprocessing is intended to turn a single computer into a self-contained render farm of sorts. Multi-machine rendering is intended to use multiple computers in a render farm.
