Multi provider not activating

hi,
i have a multi provider which is based on two non cumulative cubes
both the cubes are active and consistent
now when i create multiprovider top of those cubes i am getting this error
'define the characteristics of the validity table for non-cumulatives'
how to proceed futher
how can this come if both cubes are consistent and active ?
please suggest me

Hi Venkat,
Check in the non cumulative cubes whether you have maintained the validity table and the reference characteristics for the validity table or not!
Go to the change mode in info cube and from extras select maintain non cumulative values and check whether you have maintained it or not!
if not maintain it and then activate!

Check out for Active Status of your Basic Cubes...if they are actively available,check out the multiprovider configuration......

Multi provider not pulling data

Hi All,
I have 2 data targets ,1 is 0PA_C01 cube and 2nd is a custom DSO.i created a multi provider on top of them and made the identification process properly for chars and keyfigs.in my case 0HRPOSITION is the common char between the two data targets.when i see for the data in listcube transaction it is showing only data related to the cube it is not showing DSO related data.
In the list cube transaction info provider column is showing only 0PA_C01.
Please suggest me if i am missing something.

both of your suggestions are valid but no use in my case,0hrposition is having data in both data targets.if i copy 1 position value into another data targets it is showing values,it means there is a problem at multi provider level.
**the multi provider not at all pulling the second data target values ,i tested with some other data targets in all the cases values for only one data target are coming.
i am in BI 7.0 SP20.
can someone suggest more inputs?

Report is not getting data from Remote cube thru Multi Provider

Hi SAPians
I ve strucked up with a Problem in The Reconciliation Report in BW3.5
The Report was built on a Multi Provider, which was created on Basic and Remote Cubes .
Both cubes have same Data Source and all the Objects were in Active version and found good.
When I m executing the Report ,I m only getting the data from the Basic cube and no data is coming from Remote Cube.
I ve checked the char " 0Infoprov " in Multi Provider and It was assigned with the both the cubes.
What might be the problem
Please help me in this regard

Hi
In the Reconciliation multiprovider, include 0INFOPROVIDER = Remote cube.
If data still not coming, you can be sure connectivity with Source system of the Remote cube is the issue
Check with basis to solve the connectivity issue.
Ensure Remote cube is consistent

Fields Not getting Populated in Queries on Multi Provider

Product class,Product form and Packet size from Zqn6x03 (ods) are not getting populated in Queries(Multiprovider). Our`s is Heterogenous Multi Provider

After checking all the options it is very much important to run a report "RSR_GEN_DIRECT_ALL_QUERIES" IN SE38.
This is the report used to generate all the changes to reflect in BEx
It will aolve your problem if am not wrong.
Don't forget to assign points.

Multi provider issue and not able perform BEx. Report

I have one issue on multiprovider that is when I check the content of multi provider it say one info object does not exist.Actually this missing info object was set as navigational attribute in the ODS and at present this info object does not exist as navigational attribute in ODS and this info object does not exist in the environment at all.but still when we select the multiprovider it says info object missing. can any one suggest any reason for this.

You can refresh the Administartor workbench screen and then retry. Anyways as Paolo said it is just a warning.

Activation error on Multi Provider which has Non-cumulative Cube

Hi,
My company has upgraded the BI 7.0 from 3.5.
It is working fine so far.
But I met the below message and could not activate it when I generate the multi provider which has Non-cumulative Cube.
Define the characteristics of the validity table for non-cumulatives (Message no. R7846)
And then I checked the Single cube but Single cube has no error.
I think this is program error and searched the notes in OSS but could not find.
Does any expert know this issue?

Hi lee,
validity slice tables need to be defined for cubes using non cumulative key figures.
In this we need to specify the characteristic combination on which this table has be maintained.
The maintanence can be done from cube change mode, menu bar extras--> maintain non cumulative values.
This table constantly gets updated with validity dates as we upload data.
An report on this can be seen in tcode RSDV.

0FISCPER Value Help is not working on Multi Provider

Hi Friends,
I Have created a query on Multi Provider (based two ODS) and when i click on the value help for 0FISCPER while executing the report, it just hangs up and keep running, but never givel any values wvwn after 5 hours (I did not observed for moreathan 5hrs, propably it might go for dump).
The same Query with same selection varuiable on 0FISCPER gives the value help in just 30 sec in both Dev and QA systems.
When i try to use the same value help on bothe the ODS, it was working fine in all Dev, QA and Prod environments. But same on Multi Provide is working only in Dev and QA, but not in Prod.
One diff i sea, is larg amount of data in Prod, in bothe the ODS invloved in this MP.
Can you guys pls help...how to resolve this. I even try with different possible settings for MP through RSDIPROP transaction

It is the same case even...if i run it from RSRT. It just hangup for past 80mts.
I got some more information,
When i try to do the same from portal...i have got below Error messages in Dump.
Caused by: com.sap.ip.bi.base.exception.BIBaseRuntimeException: Jco exception thrown while executing function "BICS_PROV_GET_MEMBERS" against system "SAP_BW"
Caused by: com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (102) RFC_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: connection closed without message (CM_NO_DATA_RECEIVED)
Pls do share...if you got any more suggestions.

Use of provider contracts is not active

When i create an invoice via the TA FPE1, after filled all the require datas , there would raise an error message Use of provider contracts is not active.

You should first check your Abap dumps using tranaction code ST22, this usually provides more detail on the problem.
In this case I think it's trying to return a screen (or pop-up message) that can't be handled while activating the web service. The "SAPLSKEY" tells me that it might be licence related, do you have a valid developer's licence for Abap development work? If not apply for one (find out the procedure from other Abap developer's that you may work with) & check if that makes a difference while activating.

Input Ready Query is not enabling on Multi Provider...

Dear Folks,
I have created one Multi Provider which is having 3 info cubes, out of three info cubes. 2 Planning Cubes & 1 Normal Cube.
I have created one Aggregation Level on top of Multi Provider and created input ready query which is not enabling as a input for key figures.
Do you have any idea on this.

Check the following points to make your query as input enables,
1. Drill down or filter all the characteristics present in the query.
2. Check whether the "Open query in Change mode" is checked in Query properties.
3. Check whether your real time infocube is in "Plan mode"
4. Make sure that your planning cube is not locked by any other person when you are trying to open your query.

Multi provider is not getting exact data.

Hi Experts,
I am working on BW, I have created a Multi provider with three cubes and one ODS, I have added total 16 objects in this Multi provider, while I am executing this Multi provider in LISTCUBE it is showing only four fields data, all fields are having data but in listcube 12 fields are showing empty.
How can i get the remaining fields data also,
Please help me to get the data,

Hi,
Check that there is data in the cube that is available for reporting.
Try to include 0INFOPROV in the query to verify the InfoProvider from which data is being pulled.
Try a LISTCUBE on the cube to see that it contains data as per the filters, or selections in the query.

Help needed on Multi provider

Hello Experts,
we have crated an ODS and loaded data from flatfile, now i need to put this ODS in Multi provider, which i did but i dont have any key figures in my ods which is making a problem while activating the Multiprovider , can anyone help me on this.

Surendra , an ODS should have a Key field and not necessarily a Key figure however to create a cube / multiprovider , it is a must that you have a key fiugure , which leads me to ask the following questions:
1. Why do you need a multiprovider on an ODS with no facts(key figure)?
2. Why not an Infoset?
If this is for experimentation alone , trhe answer is clear,
A multiprovider cannot be created without a key figure , this goes against the very concepts of Data Warehousing and think if your architecture is correct and why you need a multiprovider and a multiprovider alone will satisfy your requirements.

Multi provider data

Hi,
We have a Multi Provider which is built on a Master data object and a DSO.
We included 2 navigational attributes of the master data object in the Multi Provider.
But the Multi Provider is not displaying any data for the Navigational attributes.
When we check the master data object, we have 2 records for one product .
one record has all the values are filled in and the 2nd record is not filled up with values.
Our Multi Provider is picking up the 2nd record for each product.
But in query, we have display the values.
Please suggest us how to get these values in the Multi Provider.

Hi Jyothi,
Multiprovider works on Union functionality and it fetches data from all the underlying infoproviders. In case of navigation attributes data is displayed in the query from actual master data objects, you do not need to include the master data object in multiprovider for using navigation attributes.
Once navigation attributes are marked for available for reporting in underlying infoprovider they will be available in query and data shown will be from masterdata infoobject.
Just check that you have activated master data infoobject properly and then see the query output. Finally check if there is any filter in report.

Multi provider transport

Hi all,
I have a multiprovider on an ods and an Master data Info object.
ods and info objects are already there in production.
I have created a query on this multiprovider.
NOw I need to transport this multiprovider and to production system.
from Transport Connection in RSA1 I selected the multiprovider and ther i need not to select the ods and Info object naa.
and my query and multiproviders are saved under local package($tmp).
I am going to change the package for both multi provider and query and transport it,
Is it correct procedure or is there any steps need to be followed

If you have the dependent Info Objects, DSO (You used in MP ) with PRS no need to Transport the Same again, Provided you have not done any changes to the existing IO, DSO.
You have to change the Package and Transport with all necessary Objects by grouping MP / QUERY/ roles along with Work books.
