Multihead not working with 2.6.31 and nvidia 185

Right, hi all.
I've been having trouble for the past few days, when I came back home the machine had hung up.  Then after booting it hanged in kdm.  I've done various attempts at fixing this, with nvidia 190 driver, downgrading to 2.6.30, tested xorg-server 1.7 from testing and I've been running X -configure like crazy.  I also had a problem getting in to kde.  Currently I have my main screen working with kdemod and also strangely one auxiliary screen, that's all black and gets REALLY slow when I move my mouse there.  Normal speed on the main screen.  I'd like to get all four screens working if possible. If I start with all four screens (old config) enabled it hangs after nvidia logo.

  • Lync Server 2010 conference not working with Windows 8.1 and IE 10

    Hello,
    The problem is that whenever a Windows 8.1 user tries to join a Lync server 2010 conference using Internet Explorer 10 (or 11, tried that too) the user can't join the conference. If the conference is created by a Lync server 2013 user joining works fine.
    When using Lync 2010 client we get the following error in the client: "error id 87 source id 7".
    When using Lync 2013 client we end up with a blank conversation window.
    There are no traces in server log, client log or event log.
    Below is a set of use cases that may help you to understand what is the problem scenario. Each of these works or does not work with both Lync 2010 and Lync 2013 client.
    - Lync server 2010 conference, windows 7, Chrome, Firefox, IE 10 or 11 --> Works.
    - Lync server 2010 conference, windows 8.1, IE 10 or 11 --> Does not work.
    - Lync server 2010 conference, windows 8.1, Chrome or Firefox --> Works.
    - Lync server 2013 conference, windows 8.1, Chrome, Firefox, IE 10 or 11 --> Works.
    It does not help to add the meet address to IE compatibility list (Compatibility View Settings).
    If i press F12 in IE and change the document mode of the meet page to IE 9 version then i can join meetings with Windows 8.1 and IE 10. Unfortunately i cannot make that as a default setting for the meet website.
    Any ideas on how to get Lync server 2010 meetings working with Windows 8.1 and IE 10 or 11?
    IE is the company default browser. Windows 8.1 is not a default operating system but we have increasing number of Windows 8.1 computers in our environment (mainly directors).

    According to your description, it is hard to tell whether the issue is related with IE or Lync Server 2010 or both.
    Compare the log when Lync client on Window 8.1 with IE 10 or IE 11 join Lync server 2010 conferencing and Lync Server 2013 conferencing.

  • The expand on Youtube is not working with many Youtube sites and they work on Internet Explorer

    On many of the sites on Youtube the expand does not work with Mozilla Firefox 4. I have gone to Internet Explorer and they work there. When I come back from Internet Explorer strange enough the expand on Firefox works. Obviously its picking up programming from Internet Explorer, unfortunately it does not last long. I've tried plug ins, reloading flash player after I deleted it and re-installed it, the problem still exist. Also on the expand screens that do work on the right side there is a very thin white line coming down the border. I'm not the only one with this problem. please help with this problem.

    Indeed, this is a bug in HTTPS-everywhere which you can see here : https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/ticket/4032

  • My sound is not working with the computer speakers and with headphones, help?!

    my sound is not working with my headphones or the the computer speakers

    You indicate you have a "brand new Air", you have a 14 day exchange, and the warranty of which you paid for regarding genius bar in-shop diagnostics (and repair if necessary)
    What year model Air do you have?
    On the first question,....are the headphones attached when you have your Air in sleep?
    If yes, then refrain from having phones attached when you close the monitor to prevent this until it is resolved
    resolution as to same yet, no.

  • Secure boot not working with MSI Z77a-G45 And system reserve not showing

    Ok so i re did my windows after i did a zero fill on my hard drive as it was showing a corrupted sector on my disk that seemed to fix it for now, until it comes back if it does crossing my fingers it gone for good. But now i can't seem to get Secure boot to work i mean i did not have it before as i just slapped the motherboard in with a existing windows, that was to be expected but this is a clean install of windows 8.1 and i even have secure boot on but its not working and reports as off in windows.  Is it because i have my bios set to legacy+UEFI??? would that make secure boot not work??. i even went as far as turning it off and back on again the secure boot setting nothing made a difference.  I mean its not a big deal bit would be nice to know why its not working, also another wired thing and i will post pictures of it, as i cant see my system reserved partition in disk management but diskpart says it there, i will post those pictures any ideas??.

    fixed it is my legacy+uefi another forum got back to me.

  • New OSX not does not work with RED Rocket Card and old OSX Randomly Logs Out - UNSTABLE

    It looks like my MBPR 16GB (MacBook Pro) randomly logs out and causes my programs to quit unsaved.  I can not update to the new OSX mountain Lion because the new Apple release is no longer compatible with the RED Rocket card needed for debaying RED Scarlet footage.  Mountain Lion causes the RED Rocket to not run correctly with Adobe Premiere.
    At the same time, I am on Lion and my computer randomly logs me out and I lose all my work.  It seems as though the Retina is unstable.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Can someone tell me how I can return this.  It seems as though I may have to switch the entire company over to PC if this is not figured out soon.

    You probably have not received responses for two reasons.
    1. There are not many here that know what this is "RED Rocket card needed for debaying RED Scarlet footage"
    2. Your post appears to contain some sort of threat to Apple about moving to PCs. You are not addressing Apple here. We are users just like you. We don't care if you change over to PCs.
    MBPs and Lion are very stable. Maybe your unsupported third party Red card is causing issues. Their answer seems to be that Mountain Lion is not supported. I wonder why?
    My suggestion if this is a business environment is to not mess with this. If you know for a fact that your Red card works with PCs, change over to PCs. I know that if some tool was not working for my business I would not hesitate to get something that worked.

  • TimedObject -' TX attribute ' is not working with netbeans 5.0 and SAS 8.0

    Hello,
    I am building a master timer stateless session bean. I have followed the examples from this site as well as I know how, and have even removed all of the system messages and other fluff. I continue to get the following error:
    EJB Timeout method must have an attribute value of TX_REQUIRES_NEW OR TX_NOT_SUPPORTED for ejb
    I have looked through the TimedObject, Timer, and TimerHandle API, all of which seems very simple and does not have any TX field. The example from the site is also very simple, only requiring the declaration of a timer start, which needs a TimerHandle return(although the example does not have it returning a value, I have tried this code both as written and with a class level TimerHandle object returned from the createTimer(...).getHandle() method ), and the declaration of a void ejbTimeout(Timer timer). This method should work with no body in the method since the return is void. I also set my timer intervals to ensure that they were
    I am very confused and feel that this should be very easy. Does anyone know if I am dealing with a configuration error? I know that netbeans does not directly support the use of the ejb TimerService (which seems a little crazy to me, as most non-trivial applications require a timer in some form for periodic events), so are there any deployment descriptors in any of the files which need to be set for this service to work? This error looks to me like a configuration error on some level, or possibly a missing entry in one of the myriad of xml configuration files that are required. The code for my bean is below:
    package QualityPortal;
    import javax.ejb.*;
    * This is the bean class for the MasterSchedulerBean enterprise bean.
    * Created Jul 18, 2006 12:40:18 PM
    * @author ttaylor
    public class MasterSchedulerBean implements SessionBean, MasterSchedulerLocalBusiness, TimedObject
    private SessionContext context;
    private TimerHandle timerHandle = null;
    public void setSessionContext(SessionContext aContext)
    context = aContext;
    * @see javax.ejb.SessionBean#ejbActivate()
    public void ejbActivate()
    * @see javax.ejb.SessionBean#ejbPassivate()
    public void ejbPassivate()
    * @see javax.ejb.SessionBean#ejbRemove()
    public void ejbRemove()
    // </editor-fold>
    * See section 7.10.3 of the EJB 2.0 specification
    * See section 7.11.3 of the EJB 2.1 specification
    public void ejbCreate()
    timerHandle = startTimer();
    public javax.ejb.TimerHandle startTimer()
    TimerService timerService = context.getTimerService();
    Timer timer = timerService.createTimer(30000, "created timer");
    return timer.getHandle();
    public void ejbTimeout(Timer timer)
    //call to another bean here
    WMLReportFactoriesBean wml = new WMLReportFactoriesBean();
    wml.inspectionThroughput();
    }

    Your ejbTimeout() must have a transaction attribute, which resides in the ejb-jar.xml. You'd have to edit your descriptor to contain something like:
    <container-transaction>
    <method>
    <ejb-name>MasterScheduler</ejb-name>
    <method-name>ejbTimeout</method-name>
    </method>
    <trans-attribute>RequiresNew</trans-attribute>
    </container-transaction>
    Or NotSupported.
    Hope it helps.

  • Pure Music software player is not working with iTunes 10.4 and Lion 10.7 playing wav. files.

    Pure Music player from Channel D software will not work when playing wav. files after updating to Lion OS. I can open the application as usual but after playing one song it will not advance to the next track either on its own or manually. The scrolling track name goes dim and I cannot get the play button to respond. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
    Ron

    Thanks Limnos, but unfortunately the same error still remains.
    The disk was OK.  Permissions had errors along the lines of groups should be 0, is 80.  I repaired that.  Tried again to open, then reinstalled (new download again), but again the same problem.
    I checked permissions again and some of the 0-80 errors came again, but no clear reason from there I think
    Was also a SUID warning on ARDAgent but I see online that doesn't appear to be something abnormal.
    I tried reloading Lion but the installation came back with software appears to have been tampered with (I think the dmg file is gone as I couldn't find it).  I then went to email to report a problem so I could download again but of course that whole process doesn't work because itunes wont open.
    So Stuck

    I have a new i5 core computer running Windows 7 64bit retail. With Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 installed Flash CS4 becomes so unresponsive that it is completely unusable. Uninstall KIS and it works absolutely fine. I've already read on another forum that someone else is experiencing the same issue with the same combination of products. Is anyone else having this problem amd if so how did you solve it? I've posted on the Kaspersky forum with no solution thus far.
    Does Norton work OK with Windows 7(64) and CS4?

    *** PROBLEM SOLVED ***
    Taxxem you are a star. Ideed turning off 'disable external service control' and disabling 'self defense' under 'settings  -options' does indeed bring Flash back to life. Disabling self-defense had the most impact (and causes Kaspersky to grumble somewhat) but disabling external service control also had an impact, albeit much smaller. I'll post this solution against my Kaspersky forum post and hopefully they will do something about it.

  • Wifi not working with iTunes, apps store and some, but not all Internet sites....why???

    Yesterday I noticed while browsing Internet that some sites would not open and that some games I regularly play would not open. I also found that I could not open either the apps store or iTunes. Everything seemed to be working the day before and I have not recently upgraded ios (been on version 6.1.3 for a while) or changed any settings on my iPad (2).  With Internet research today I found suggestion that if I switched to 3G I would be able to access these apps and,sure enough, under 3G connection everything works fine. Some other forums suggest changing wifi router settings to fix the issue ....I have not tried this as I wouldn't  like to mess with my router and end up effecting other peripherals/pc's connected to it that are working fine....especially when I am not terribly IT savvy when it comes to hardware settings.  But as I haven't changed anything on my ipad why would my wifi suddenly stop connecting to some apps on my iPad, but not all??? Interestingly I can access many Internet sites (forums) with wifi connection but not the apple forum! To get to anything apple related I have to switch back to 3G ....that includes checking the iOS version I am on via settings!
    I also mention that I have done all the other suggested fixes found on various forums, such as rebooting iPad, renewing wifi lease, clearing cookies, closing all apps etc etc, to no avail. Seems the only suggested fix I have not tried is mucking around with my router which I am very hesitant to do given the **** I went through with my telco when my home Internet connection suddenly stopped working last year. Took me weeks of phone calls to get my internet connection back and being forced by the telco to a more expensive plan, hence very reluctant to start mucking around with that side of things, but why should I need to when it does seem to be working ok with other devices in the home?
    I have started this as new discussion as, even though I am not terribly IT savvy,  I cant see how this could be related to the wifi issues that many on the newer devices (iPhone 5 and iPad mini etc) are reporting as I haven't recently upgraded anything on my ipad and all was working perfectly up until yesterday.
    Any other suggestions on how to get wifi working correctly again on iPad or do I really have to risk the working of every other device in my home and chase it from modem/router side?

    Hi there,
    You mentioned that you have tried a few troubleshooting steps already, but you may want to take a look at the article below, specifically the section titled "If you are unable to access the Internet while connected to a Wi-Fi network"

    Hope that helps,

  • Flash player is not working with windows 8.1 and ie11

    I am so tired of the message to remove active x or enable flash player. On windows 8.1 the next message is that flash player is embedded in 8.1. I also have ie 11 and had to load Google Chrome because my Media Player does not gee haw with 8.1. If I had not bought a new PC with 8 loaded believe me I would still have windows 7 or the windows 2010 Home and Student. Tell me please what to do.

    IE11 is a "Rolling Train Wreck". Combined with 8.1 it is, without a doubt, the worst pile of garbage to EVER come out of Redmond, WA.
    MS deliberately altered the "User-Agent Strings" to make it nearly IMPOSSIBLE for pages and sites to ID it. (See: IE11's Screwed up User-Agent Strings)
    The pages can't recognize the browser, so they don't recognize any of the plugins, like Flash Player. So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon.
    Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using an different browser. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
    I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.
    Firefox (from Mozilla)
    Opera (from Opera)
    Safari (from Apple)
    Chrome (from Google)
    ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

    Camera plus is not a webcam, it's virtual camera software.    That actual image is generated by that software, not skype.  You should have another option to select a real webcam.  If that still doesn't work, provide a DirectX diagnostic log and any other further details when you select a webcam that is not "Camera plus".
    Please, run the DirectX diagnostics tool (32-bit). Run dxdiag.exe (Start - Run or Win key +R) then press enter or click "OK". Once the diagnostics completes, "Save All information..." to a text file. Please, attach this file to your post.
    Be aware that you will have to zip this file before attaching it here.
