Multilingual spell check support in WYSIWYG element.

Hi All,
I am using site studio for creating a website where author can contribute in many languages.
i wanted to know whether WYSIWYG provide any support for multilingual spell check.
if yes how we can enable it.
please help........
Thanks
Somesh

Hi Somesh,
you are right - it is a feature of the WYSIWYG editor. Site Studio may use two: FCKeditor (default) or Ephox Edit Live - see http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e10614/e02_considerations.htm#SSMAN259
Either of them has an option for spell checker - see http://docs.cksource.com/FCKeditor_2.x/Developers_Guide/Configuration/Spell_Checker (it has an option to use IE's checker, though) and http://ephox.com/editlive
I could not find information if it is available in other languages. I'd recommend you to contact these companies directly as these are 3rd party products.

  • Pages for iPad - multilingual spell check

    Is there any way to spell check multiple languages in Pages for the iPad (or the iWork apps in general, for that matter), short of changing the system language every time?
    I routinely write in English, German and French. In most apps, including Mail, SMS and Notes, spell-checking automatically adapts to the keyboard layout chosen, and multilingual typing is a breeze. Not so in iWork, it seems.
    I am currently working on a German document in Pages on my iPad, and the only way I could get usable spell-checking was to switch the whole system to German, which seems like overkill.
    Am I missing something?

    No, you are not missing anything. The last version of iWork for iOS (1.4) is out today, but still has the same problem. Send feedback to Apple and make yourself heard here in the forums. Maybe they'll notice.
    I have the exact same problem. My solution is, unfortunately, not to use Pages on the iPad. Every other word processing app I know of uses the language of the selected keyboard to check the spelling.
    The irony is, iOS already has a beautiful system to handle documents in many languages, with all the necessary keyboards and dictionaries. The only apps that do not make use of all that are the ones from Apple...

  • Spell check in Webdypro text element

    I have a text element in my view after entering text into it a letter is generated with the text in the text element view.
    I need a fucntionality to spell check the text that has been entered.
    I know there is a standard function module which is used for spell check in the backend sap, but since it has a dailogue popup it will not be able to be called from webdynpro.
    would appreciate if someone can provide  a solution for this or atleast let me know if it is not possible at all.
    Thanks,

    If you use Firefox, there is a spell check built into the browser itself.  This works fine with Web Dynpro.  Misspellings get underlined in red and you can right mouse click on them to see suggestions.

    Spell check is really something handled much better by the browser itself.  Firefox, Chrome, and Safari all have the feature. Unfortunetely IE6 and IE7  and even IE8 don't have this feature. You can get add-ons for IE that will add in spell check features.

  • Spell checking support in 2.0

    Does anyone know if Pages 2.0 - contrary to Pages 1.0 - can make use of spelling dictionaries installed by CocoAspell?
    I would really like to use Pages more than I do at the moment but I need integrated spell checking. I do most of my writing in Danish but of the Scandinavian languages only Swedish is included in OS X.
    Thanks

    What is CocoSpell? I'm looking to replace my WordPerfect/Mac - now that the Intel Macs won't support Classic. WordPerfect is still my favorite word processor, I use it in English and German - therefore I need a German spell checker.
    I use Word, and don't like it much, although the spelling & grammer features are superb. I have tried Appleworks and Mariner Write - Mariner is OK, but its spell checkers are clumsy and not intuitive. I am an attorney, and I do most of my own writing so I'm looking for something easy but powerful - WordPerfect for OS X would be perfect - but I guess that's a pipe dream. Does "Pages" come with spell checkers in languages other than English? Thanks all.

  • Multilingual Spell Checker?

    How does Mail know German words? I am using the US version of OS X.
    I was answering an email someone sent from Germany so I answered it in German. What (pleasantly) surprised me is that Mail apparently switched the spell checker to German.
    So it seems that Mail comes with spell checkers for multiple languages? If so, is there a way to switch the languages when composing a new email?
    Thanks much for your help
    Olaf

    Greetings,
    Mac OS X supports a lot of different languages, and it does spellcheck in multiple languages, too.
    If you want to compose an email in a different language, all you need to do is type your message in that language. If you want to spellcheck it in the language you're composing in while you're typing it, you need to choose Edit > Spellcheck and choose the language you'll be using from the dropdown menu of the spellcheck window first.

  • Multilingual spell check?

    Hello
    Is there a way to change and swish "spell check language" in Pages, Keynotes and Numbers (beta)?

    No.

  • Downloaded multilingual spell checks on Mac PowerPC G5

    I have a Mac PowerPC G5 connected to the internet, and a separate PowerPC G4 that I use separate from the internet, connecting to the first PC only through diskettes, DVDs, or flash data storage.
    I use the latter PC to write my preliminary work before transferring it to a PC that (despite the firewall) can be hacked. (I have reason to believe that it has been hacked.)
    I downloaded the spell check software for Hebrew, Arabic, Greek, and Latin. I have found the files for the spell check software in the Downloads folder, but do not know where to transfer them so that I can use them in my Office (Word, etc.) and Nisus files.
    Also, I would like to transfer them to my disconnected PC. Can that be done.
    Please help.

  • Thunderbird spell-checking for non en_US broken

    Hi there,
    Is someone else experiencing issues with spell-checking support for languages other than en_US?
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Go to write and compose a new message
    2. Click on the "Spelling" button in the top toolbar to select the dictionary.
    In that selection I used to see all my installed dictionaries. Now I only see English (US).
    Installed dictionaries:
    hunspell 1.3.3-1
    hunspell-de-de 20131206-1
    hunspell-en-gb 7.1-2
    hunspell-nl-nl 2.10g-1
    hunspell-pl 20120911-2
    Tested with the following versions of Thunderbird:
    thunderbird 31.1.1-1
    thunderbird-beta-bin 33.0b1-1
    It does not seem to be an add-on issue since I also tried it with all add-ons being disabled.
    Other programs still properly use the installed dictionaries.

    With these (latest) versions of official x86_64 packages:
    $ pacman -Qs hunspell
    local/hunspell 1.3.3-1
    Spell checker and morphological analyzer library and program
    local/hunspell-en 7.1-3
    English hunspell dictionaries
    $ pacman -Q thunderbird
    local/thunderbird 31.1.1-1
    Standalone Mail/News reader
    Works okay for me too.

  • How do I obtain spell check for Photoshop Elements 12

    I use spell check with my Photoshop CS but I don't see a spell check for my Elements 12.   Is there a plug in I can get for a spell check?

    In photoshop cs2 record the spell check action:
    1. Create a new document and type a word you know is misspelled
    2. Go to Window>Actions
    3. At the bottom of the actions palette press the Create New Set button
    4. At the bottom of the actions palette press the Create New Action button
    5. Press Record, go to Edit>Check Spelling, press Done on the spell check dialog and click on the Stop Recording button at the bottom of the actions palette
    6. Save your action set to somewhere like your desktop using the Save Actions from the actions palette fly-out menu.
    In the photoshop elements 12 editor in the Expert mode
    1. Go to window>Actions and load the spell check action from the fly-out menu on the actions panel
    2. Click on the name of the action (not the name of the action set) and press Play to play the action.
    The check spelling action should work in pse 12 just as check spelling does in photoshop cs2

  • How to add support both English and Portuguese in spell checking?

    In my research work, I often have to write documents both in English and Portuguese. How should I add support for both languages in spell checking? I'd want to switch between both when writing my stuff and, for now, all I have available on Pages is my Mac OS X Lion's native language: English. How to add support for both languages in Pages?

    You can use Styles. The default language in your Pages Styles is set to the computer language which you said is english, right.
    If you want Portuguese for some body text select some text >
    in the Inspector palette > T tab > More > language > select Portuguese >
    now click on the style Body text triangle > choose Create new paragraph style from selection > name it so you know it has this language.
    When writing you have to tell Pages which paragraph to be in Portuguese and which in English.

  • I would like to go back to my old version. Version 4 does not support my Afrikaans spell checker etc.

    Most of my work is done in Afrikaans en therefore my spell checker is vital to me. Your latest version is not compatible to the available spell checker and so I would like to revert back to the older version.
    Kind Regards
    Stephanie

    A spell checker that works in Firefox 3.6 should also work in Firefox 4.0 even if not listed as compatible.
    You can force Firefox to install the spell checker or re-enable it if it has been disabled by installing the Add-on Compatibility Reporter extension - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter

  • IE10 Spell Check on Infopath 2010 Browser Enabled Forms

    We are rolling out some new InfoPath browser enabled forms in SharePoint 2010. We are hoping to use the Internet Explorer 10 spell check functionality, as I know the InfoPath spell check functionality isn't available in browser enabled forms.
    What we've found is that IE10 spell check functionality appears to only work in Rich Text multiline boxes. Single Line or Plain Text multi-line text boxes don't support the spell check, which is causing some frustration.
    I found this page that outlines how IE10's spell check engine works:
    http://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/Browser/SpellChecking/
    It specifies that: "Spellchecking is active by default on <textarea> and
    contenteditable elements, and off by default for text boxes. Web developers can override the defaults using the <tt>spellcheck</tt> attribute."
    I assume this means that it doesn't interpret the single line and plain text controls as textarea or contentditable elements.
    So, any idea how to set the spellcheck attribute in InfoPath, or otherwise force this? Thanks!

    Hi,
    I understand that you want to enable spelling check in  InfoPath browser enabled forms. You can add a Content Editor Web Part in your NewForm.
    1. Right click the Add new item link in your list/library
    2. Copy the URL and open it in a new tab
    3. Add a Content Editor Web Part and add below JS code:
    <script language="javascript" src="/_layouts/1033/SpellCheckEntirePage.js?rev=zYQ05cOj5Dk74UkTZzEIRw%3D%3D" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
    function CheckSpelling()
    SpellCheckEntirePage('/_vti_bin/SpellCheck.asmx', '/_layouts/SpellChecker.aspx');
    </script>
    <a onclick="CheckSpelling();" href="javascript:"><img alt="Spell Check" src="_layouts/1033/images/RTE2SPCHK.GIF" style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px"/></a>
    4. When you click Add new item link, you can see a spell check button in your page.

  • Indonesian spell checking in Leopard?

    I love the "multilingual" option in the system spell checker. It's great that those of us that mangle more than one language can get our spelling checked. However, I am missing support for Bahasa Indonesia. Does anyone have an idea?

    Thanks, but I was looking for a system solution. My experience with CocoAspell is that you have to close the app and reopen every time you change language. That is why I like the "multilingual" capabilities now in the system (and with support for Danish no less).
