Multiple import formats in one FDM application....?

I wanted to know in my situation where there are 15 EBS Set of Books. whether it is possible to use only 1 FDM application to import all these data into my HFM application.
My ERPi application is like this :
1 source application that is EBS.
1 target application that is HFM.
15 EBS Set of books, for which i think i have to create 15 import formats in ERPi for each set of books. this also implies to the locations.
then I have to do the common period mapping and category mapping.
in the Data load Setup: I have to select each location and do the member mapping. create a data load rule for each location.
FDM Application:
i already have an FDM application which i am using to import data from EBS to HFM using ERPi, till now i have only used 1 set of books just to verify that everything is working fine. now as everything is working fine with the application, I want to add additional import formats in the existing FDM application to answer the import formats and locations created in the ERPi application.
Is it possible to do like this, if so then i need your assistance in achieving this task.
please put your comments in this regards.
Thanks,
Shantan Kommera

You can do this by specifiying the appropriate data load rule to be used by ERPi within Integration Option 1 in the location. This will kick off the data load rule you specify in ERPi that should be tied to the corresponding set of books in EBS.

  • Multiple video formats in one feed?

    My podcast (http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=348713189) has videos formatted for Apple TV, but that means subscribers can't load it on their iPods. Is there a way to host multiple video formats in one feed?
    Feed url = http://buzz.snow.com/media/lindseyisepic.xml

    The 'enclosures' in a feed don't all have to be the same format, so you could certainly mix differently formatted episodes.
    But note that different versions have to appear as different episodes (even if it's the same content) - you can't have two 'enclosure' tags within one 'item' tag - the second will be ignored.
    Another point is that if you do two versions of every episode you are forcing subscribers to download both versions, so there is a lot of redundant downloading going on. It might be better to make two different podcasts, one with the Apple TV versions and one with the iPod version: note that if you do this the titles must be different (so you could add the media type in the title) and of course the second version must be submitted as a new podcast. Once done, iPod users wouldn't have to download all the Apple TV files and vice versa.

  • Multiple FDM Import Formats for One Location

    I want to import trial balance data directly from the Oracle Financials database. I'm creating an import integration script to pull the ledgers directly via a SQL statement. My issue is that I also want to be able to write scripts to modify each individual field on the import, similar to a delimited import script where I can have a script for each dimension. Do you know if it's possible to combine import integration and delimited scripts in a single location? I'm guessing it may be a combination of the Import Format and Integration Options settings on the location, but I'm not sure which one should go where. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    This is not possible. Any adjustments to the data would need to be done within the integration script.

  • Multiple distribution channels in one shop application possible?

    Dear all,
    maybe someone can support me with the following requirement:
    I have one shop application (SAP CRM ISA 4.0) that shall be used for selling sales products (distribution channel 10) as well as service products (distribution channel 20) at parallel.
    The shop is based on one catalog. In this catalog I have two catalog variants - one for each distribution channel.
    Problem:
    A service product (distribution channel 20) is never released for the sales channel (distribution channel 10).
    When having more than one catalog variant the user has to select a certain catalog/catalog variant when logging onto the shop application. By selecting a certain variant only materials can be purchased that are released for the distribution channel defined in the selected catalog variant (same is valid for TREX search).
    => Does anyone know if it is possible to set up a process to sell products of different distribution channels in one shop application out of one product catalog without releasing a material for both distribution channels?
    Thanks a lot for you help.

  • How Do I Get Multiple Video Formats to One Size?

    I am new to Premiere....so, thanks for the help!
    I have several files from different cameras submitted by individuals. They have different resolutions and it is wreaking havoc on my output.
    My previous software automatically adjusted the video to fit the screen.
    How do I get Premiere to do that and at the best quality?
    Thank you for taking the time to take a look.
    Eric

    Hi Eric,
    In Edit > Prefs > General, there is a checkbox for "Auto Scale to Frame Size". Enable that, and any clips imported after that change will automatically be scaled to fill the current frame size. For clips already imported prior to change, you can right-click and manually choose Scale to Frame on clips in your Sequence.
    Ideally, you should figure out what format you want to deliver, and start from there. For instance, if the final product will be on DVD, then 720x480 is the size to work with and you would start with a DV NTSC preset and scale clips to fit. Not a good idea to scale everything UP, as you will lose quality, so not recommending full 1920x1080 HD if your sources are all smaller.
    Also pay attention to FRAME RATE. You can mix them, but decide which one is most prevalent and that may be the one to use, depends though. If you can give examples of what you have to work with, and where it is going (DVD, YouTube, etc.) then you may get more specific tips

  • How can I allow multiple CGI calls to one LabVIEW application?

    I currently have web server running my application, and I am having difficulty allowing multiple calls. How can I solve this?

    My suspicion is that the CGI requests are handled using the VI Server.
    The CGI VI is dynamically loaded and the run method is used to run the
    VI. This means that only one call to the CGI handler can run at a time.
    I suspect that the CGI handler could be a template, a .vit VI, instead.
    This alone might allow multiple calls. I don't have the toolkit in front
    of me, so I can't try it out. There may also need to be a few changes
    made to the internet toolkit so that they would load the template.
    You might give this a try.

  • FDM Assign import format to different locations

    Dear All,
    I have a request that we need assign a import format to 500+ FDM locations, is there a better way to do this ?
    Thanks,

    Hello,
    I did not get any response for this question, the detail for this item is as following.
    We have created a FDM import group, we also create a import format under this import group, we already assign the import group to one FDM location.
    Now we want to assign this import group to other FDM locations(more than 500), how can we do that easily ? Is there a way to batch load the import group to the FDM locations ?
    Waiting for your suggestion,
    Thank you so much

  • Pointing single FDM application to multiple Essbase databases

    Is it possible to point a single FDM application to multiple Essbase applications and databases? I have heard it is possible to (re-)add the Essbase adapter multiple times to the same FDM application, to then point to different Essbase applications databases.
    Does this work successfully and are there any potential problems with having duplicate adapters registered?

    To add weight to our proposal of splitting the FDM applications, is there any documentation/KB/bugs/forum posts on the issues with duplicated adapters and using drill back? Is there definitely an issue with FDM here? It is not something I have yet experienced and it sounds more of a possibility than a definite issue? If you can, please let me know if there are any further references you can provide on this so I can inform the client on the best route forward. Many thanks in advance.

  • Framemaker 10 crashing when trying to import formats

    I have been having trouble with Framemaker 10 (most recent version 10.0.2.419) crashing when I try to import formats from one .fm file to another, or more often a group of other files.
    I am using Windows 7 64-bit for an OS. The documents are all unstructured. The files are small (less than 10 pages in general), no extensive formating or graphics. If I am importing to a group of files in a book, its 6 or fewer files. I have something like 13 crash reports over the last month, so its not a seldom occurance.
    At least a few of the crash reports have also mentioned errors 6382424, and 6383085.
    That is all the information I can think of.
    Is there someplace I can look up the erorr numbers that are getting reported to me when Frame crashes? I would do self-diagnosing and attempt fixes, but I am having a very difficult time finding information to allow that.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Too bad about those error codes. I guess I can only use them to determine if I have the same problem over and over or brand new problems.
    The files are nearly all unqiue text, and if not it was importated without formatting (edit > paste special > unformatted text) or washed through a pure text app like Windows notepad.
    Since you mentioned it, I've see the MIF-wash suggestion. I'll give it a try.

  • FDM Fixed-Width Import Format & Multiple Accounts/Periods Issue

    Hi FDM experts,
    I have an issue that I wanted to reach out to you on regarding fixed-width import formats and how to cater for my current scenario for export to Hyperion Planning.
    I am working with a flat file (.txt) I need to import to FDM with the current format;
    A
    B
    C
    D
    E
    F
    G
    Z
    Year
    Channel
    Product
    Jan-MTD-Account 1
    Jan-MTD-Account 2
    Jan-YTD-Account1
    Jan-YTD-Account2
    Dec-YTD-Account2
    2013
    Channel_1
    Product_1
    1000
    2000
    1000
    2000
    10000
    These are all fixed in width so the field lengths will need to be defined in the import format. The requirement for loading to the system is only a speciifc Month YTD value for both Account1 and Account 2.
    If my chosen Month is 2013 Jan, I will only require columns F and G to be loaded. These are the issues I have identified;
    Can a fixed width import format cater for loading to multiple accounts in the same file? Or would I need a separate import format per account?
    Can a fixed width import format cater for loading to a variable Actual Month period? Or do I need 12 import formats/locations per month?
    Your help is much appreciated!
    Many thanks
    Aaron

    Hi Aaron,
    the solution you are looking for needs pivoting your source file.
    Think that FDM, by default, only accepts files with one single column for amount. You have to pivot your file based on your logic and import the pivoted file.
    For example:
    Year     Channel     Product     ... Jan-YTD-Acc1     Jan-YTD-Acc2 ...
    2013     CH1          PR1               1000                    2000
    If your POV is Jan-2013, your data imported will look like:
    Year     Channel     Produc     Account     Amount
    2013     CH1          PR1          ACC1          1000
    2013     CH1          PR1          ACC2          2000
    All this process can be automated by playing with Import Scripts.

  • FDM Import Format Spec with multiple Amount Fields

    Hello,
    I'm in the process of setting up an Import specification for one of our sites and the source extract consists of the following fields:
    Source Account Description BegBalDR BegBalCr YTDDR YTDCR
    01-511-5110     Inventory Adjustment     1,754.00     0     0     14,844.76
    I'm am trying to Import Field 5 & 6 and net them if necessary (example: YTDDR - YTDCR) and I continue to get an error. I have tried several diffrent ways but it seems that I can only import one or the other. After reading the FDM Admin guide I am wondering if I need to create a custom Script to accomplish this task.
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Tony

    This might be slightly complicated, but I think its the most direct solution ........
    Step 1 -
    In your Import Format, assign the Amount as :
    FieldName, Start, Length, Expression
    Amount, 1, 1, Script=NetAmounts5and6.uss
    Step 2 -
    Create an Import (DataPump) script called NetAmounts5and6 with the following code :
    Function NetAmount5and6(strField, strRecord)
    'Hyperion FDM DataPump Import Script:
    'Created By:     cbeyer
    'Date Created:     2/13/2009 5:57:14 PM
    'Purpose:
    'Get the last two fields
    Dim tmpRecord
    Dim strCurrentChar
    Dim strYTDCR
    Dim strYTDDR
    Dim x
    'Initialize fields
    tmpRecord = strRecord
    'Ensure we have data
    If Trim(tmpRecord) = "" Then Exit Function
    strYTDCR = ""
    strYTDDR = ""
    'Get YTD CR
    'One could use the replace command to change all spaces to a delimittable field and then
    'split out the string into a one dimensional array using the split command; however,
    'This would only work best if there is an exact number of spaces between the two numbers
    'Since I do not know if this is true, instead i'm looking for numeric/numeric like characters
    'and splitting based off of that.
    For x = Len(tmpRecord) To 1 Step -1
    strCurrentChar = Mid(tmpRecord,x,1)
    If (IsNumeric(strCurrentChar) Or strCurrentChar = "$" Or strCurrentChar = "." Or strCurrentChar = "," ) Then
    strYTDCR = strCurrentChar & strYTDCR
    Else
    Exit For
    End If
    Next
    'Trim down temporary record holder to remove the previous found amount and white space at the end of the string
    tmpRecord = RTrim(Left(tmpRecord,x)) 'Remove the first number from the string and white space
    'Get YTD DR
    For x = Len(tmpRecord) To 1 Step -1
    strCurrentChar = Mid(tmpRecord,x,1)
    If (IsNumeric(strCurrentChar) Or strCurrentChar = "$" Or strCurrentChar = "." Or strCurrentChar = "," ) Then
    strYTDDR = strCurrentChar & strYTDDR
    Else
    Exit For
    End If
    Next
    'do the math
    If IsNumeric(strYTDCR) And IsNumeric(strYTDDR) Then
    NetAmount5and6 = strYTDDR - strYTDCR
    Else
    NetAmount5and6 = 0 'This will cause the record to fail on import
    End If
    End Function

  • FDM - Import Format (Fixed Column Type - No Delimiter)

    Hello,
    Question on FDM. I've built an import format and successfully imported a Fixed Column type text file. Everything imports beautifully. FYI - The format of the file looks just like a Trial Balance with a column for Debits and one column for Credits. In the import format setup, I am using the DrCrSplit script. Weird thing here is that I noticed it just ignored any of the rows where the balance was over 1 million (but brought everything else in perfectly). I've played with the Start and Length fields to no avail.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks,
    James

    Good day,
    You can add a script as the last item to you amount import format, this will dump the values to a text file which may give you some idea of the issue. Open you file in a hex editor, there may be non printing characters.
    Thanks
    Function dumpamt(strField, strRecord)
    'Declare Local Variables
    Dim objFSAppend
    Dim objFAppend
    Dim strFileAppend
    Dim blnCreate
    'Initialize the file path
    strFileAppend = "\\networkdirectoy\YourFileName.txt"
    blnCreate = True
    'Open the file system object and create the file
    Set objFSAppend = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
    Set objFAppend = objFSAppend.OpenTextFile(strFileAppend, 8, blnCreate)
    'Append Data to File
    objFAppend.WriteLine(strField)
    'Close the objects
    objFAppend.Close
    Set objFAppend = Nothing
    Set objFSAppend = Nothing
    dumpamt = strField

  • Re-importing FDM application from XML not removing deleted objects/records

    I migrated our FDM application from one environment to the next environment, by exporting the FDM application from the source environment to an XML file and subsequently importing the FDM application XML file in the target environment. This appeared to work fine.
    After some updates were then applied to the source environment, I re-exported the FDM application to an XML file, and re-imported this in the target environment.
    However, I have noticed that:
    - Import Scripts that were deleted in the source application still remain in the target application.
    - Mappings that were deleted in the source application still remain in the target application.
    - Extra mappings that were added in the source application have been added to the target application.
    So we now have duplicate mappings in several tables and scripts that should have been deleted in the target environment!
    It appears that the "Import" process is more of an update, rather than a drop and replace. There is no "replace" option on the import process. Can anyone please advise how one should correctly migrate an FDM application between environments? At present, it seems to me that the whole application will need to be completely dropped/deleted (including the SQL database/Oracle schema) and re-imported all over again from scratch.
    Surely there must be a better method?!!

    Here is Oracle's response for anyone else who requires further information on this:
    "Hello,
    The Import of the .xml files in terms of application creation is meant as a 'once only' event and a result is not meant as a method of post-create administration of the application. Any further imports will just add metadata to the application not replace or merge. If you wish to migrate an application via this method then you will need to get the source application into the state required for the migration then migrate this as a whole. Please note that this will only migrate the metadata of the application.
    The other method of migration as you have mentioned in the SR description, is via the database which will migrate the entire application with data.
    Please see KB article 806173.1 which gives instructions on the two methods, both of which are the only recommended methods. Please review the article to suit your requirements.
    Thanks"

  • How to copy FDM setting (import format, dimension mapping, control table)

    Dear All,
    How to copy FDM setting (import format, dimension mapping, control table) from application to another application.
    I found that only dimension mapping can be imported. Is there any way to copy FDM application quickly?
    Thanks your help

    If you get a chance try the following script, it's so simple and easy to extract all the map data to XML and will help in to import back through Import script.
    Sub MapExtractor()
    'UpStream WebLink Custom Script:
