Multiple iPods with different libraries for each?

Hi all, how do I set up iTunes so that I can sync up different iTunes libraries with different iPods? I have two iPods with different music on each and want to keep the libraries separate. (One is from an older computer.) The only option I see when plugging in the older iPod is "do you want to rease this iPod and sync with this iTunes library?" Yikes, no.
I'm using iTunes 9.
thanks,
Scott

It seems that you would just create your two separate libraries for the two iPods, library A for iPod A and B for B. Then, either don't connect iPod A to the computer when you have library B open or vice versa, but if you do, just select not to sync when the prompt appears.
Alternatively, elect to manually manage the iPods.

  • ITunes with different libraries for different devices?

My wife has an iPod Touch and I'm getting an iPhone; I would like to sync them both to iTunes on the same computer but I want to keep everything 100% separate with the least hassle.  There's already a lot of discussion online about different flavors of this issue, but -- with apologies from an inexperienced user -- I don't really understand what approach I should use.
    Apple suggests three methods http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1495
Method 1 is create a separate windows user account .... Seems this would work, but I have no other reason to have a separate Windows account so would prefer not to.
Method 2 is to set different sync settings, playlists, etc for each device .... this seems like a hassle.
Method 3 is to create a separate library .... maybe this is the solution for me, but I don't really know what it means.  Do separate libraries keep everything (music, video, contacts, apps, etc) separate and distinct?  Can I configure iTunes so that it knows to use Library1 with my wife's iPod, and Library2 with my iPhone?
So I guess my questions is if someone can explain to me if Method 3 would do what I want, and any tricks that I need to know in setting it up?  Thanks!

Correct. You have to close iTunes first and to shift to the other iTunes library, hold down shift key while opening iTunes. It does keep almost everything separately (you may use the same media file source though e.g. music and Videos and selectively import them to the second iTunes library; organize your photos separately e.g. Different photo folders) except Contacts & Calendars - for Outlook Contacts & Calendars, I believe it also has an option to switch profile/identity so you'll have separate sets of Contacts.

  • APEX multi series line chart with different markers for each series

I am using APEX 4.0 and trying to create a multi-series line chart that will have a different for each series.
Does anyone know how to accomplish this?

    Hello -
    It is possible to do.
Another user in this forum has written some code snippets to assist in creating your own custom XML for charting. That reference can be found http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=36648:30:418355095936797::NO:::
Look this over and it should get you moving in the right direction.
What you are trying to do isn't terribly difficult. In fact, I did it fairly easily as can be seen http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=28155:4:362637005964920:::::
First, create a Hidden page item.
Next, create a process that runs before regions
That process will create the XML for your line chart and store it in the hidden page item. Use the above references for assistance in setting up the PL/SQL in the process
Then, create your custom XML for your chart. Replace the #DATA# tag in the custom XML with your hidden page item.
It is a bit daunting at first, but once you get the hang of it, it really isn't that bad.

  • Matrix with different dimensions for each column

    Hi,
I would like to have a matrix with different dimensions (rows) for each
column, for example, I want the first column has 3 rows, the second one
5 rows, the third one 10 rows, and so on.....
With a simple array it is not possible, and then I make an array (for
my columns) of clusters and each cluster has another array (rows for
that column). Is it the best way to do it? Is it correct?
    Thanks,

  • Publishing an iCal group with different options for each calendar

I work at a University and I've my various functions organized into their own calendar; I've a Office calendar for my office activities, a Class calendar for my class activities, a Club calendar for my club activities, and of course a personal calendar. The personal calendar is not published.
As a general rule, the folks from each fuction know to go to the calendar I've published for them to keep track of their activities. But they also need to see when I'm available, and for that they need to see my entire calendar.
They need to see what activity I'm engaged in because some of the time I've blocked out is inflexible - class times for example, or departmental meetings - so they know those times are unavailable; but some of the time I've blocked out is relatively flexible - like when I'm listed as being in the office working on a project.
I can publish them all as a group, but there is one universal setting as to whether each calendar in the group shows details or not. Is there a way to customize what is shown for each calendar in the group? Basically, I don't want the details of my personal calendar published with the rest, but they need to see that I have that time blocked out for something so they know I'm not available. If I don't publish my personal calendar, gaps show up on the grouped calendar that really is not there - it's not time available for someone to schedule an activity.
And one other question - is there a setting that preserves the colors of the various calendars when published? Right now they all show up as one color. It would help each group if they could scan the complete calendar for their activities.

    Hi K.
I don't think it's possible to have those text properties vary in a text-ring, but you might be able to accomplish your goal using a pict-ring - using images of formatted text.  In the example (attached) Paint was used to create the pictures then import them into the pict-ring.  Here Unclebump shows how to use "Draw Text at Point.vi" to create formatted text in a picture control, though, I have no idea how to copy such pictures out of the pictures control!

  • Publish multiple ical calendars with different colours for each calendar

    hi
i am wanting to publish either multiple iCal calendars or a calendar group online so that the colours are preserved for different calendars. it would seem that the MobileMe published calendars still only support one colour (blue). could someone recommend another method of publishing read only iCal calendars online, preferably free, but i don't mind paying a small amount
    thanks
    nick

    Dear Ruben
I would love to know how you can make some events Private.
We use ical and sync to Google Calendar, but when I create events in iCal, there is no option to make it private.
We have created a CalDAV connection to Google Apps Calendar, so any help about why there is no check box for Private would be appreciated.

  • Multiple exchange accounts  - Different contacts for each account

I currently have two Exchange accounts on my iPhone 5s. I would like to know whether I can manually select on which account a new contact will be saved, each time I add a new contact. This is easily done on any Android device as you have the choice to select the account (whether it's your Gmail or an Exchange account) on which the new contact will be saved.
    Thanks,
    Markos

my understanding is that it will only handle one exxchange account. this is a symbian limit, but a good one. you could end up with sync issues and data confusion.
this being said...you ciuld, if you have other accounts you want to use like exchange but not have calendar and contacts sync, set up your email as imap4.
this works great and even if your company email is set up for exchange, you should be able to use imap.

  • Drop Down List in a table - different options for each row

How can i have a drop down list in a table with different options for each row?
My requirement is this.. I want to display, say employee dtails in a table, and one column is employee hobbies, whcih can have multiple values and each employee may have a different list of hobbies. So how can we populate the drop down for each row, with different options?

Hey. Uh, this probably isn't the answer you were looking for, but it sounds like you've got a problem with your database design there. Generally speaking, your tables shouldn't have multi-valued fields, in the relational model anyway (sql). Instead, you should look at adding a separate table like EMPLOYEE_HOBBIES. Then you have a foreign key using the employees primary key as the foreign key in the employee_hobbies table, see what I mean? I might have misunderstood your explanation though, I'm not sure.
Alternatively, you could just have hobbies as a big freeform varchar field, and don't bother to make people separate their hobbies into different fields (you'd have to abandon the drop-down listbox idea in this case). If there's no really important reason to make the distinction, then it's probably easier just to not do it.

  • Multiple profiles with different cache settings

I want to have multiple profiles with different settings for the cache. I'll call them ProfileOne and ProfileTwo for simplicity's sake. ProfileOne I want to clear its cache on exiting Firefox and on ProfileTwo have it retain its own cache. I have already setup both profiles and configured them accordingly with ProfileOne's privacy settings for Clear History > Cache checked so it clears on exit and ProfileTwo is not set to clear anything on exiting.
The main issue is that after doing something with ProfileTwo then switching to ProfileOne, upon exiting ProfileOne it also deletes ProfileTwo's cache. I have tried using the profile manager to create the profile in a different location than default to no avail. Is there any way to set it so ProfileOne's cache can still be cleared on exit without affecting ProfileTwo's cache?

After checking a few different options, it looks like the add-on Better Privacy provides the options I need for LSO management and does separate HTML cookies from Flash cookies nicely and lets me save specific site's LSOs. Thanks for the assistance!

  • Multiple Ipod nano's on same computer with different libraries

I have tried to create two libraries on the same computer for my Nano and my wife's. We have very different music tastes. The Itunes program will not let me choose a library. It goes into the last one created. I have tried starting Itunes with the "shift" key but it will not let me choose a ilbrary. Any ideas??

You might find it much easier to simply create a new user account on the computer for your wife. By default, she will get a brand new library she can call her own and sync her iPod to it. Now, not only will she have her very own library she can do with what she pleases, she can also customize the desktop, have different desktop icons, etc. to her own liking.

  • BO xi 3.1 u2013 schedule a template for multiple reports with different column

    Hi,
I need to migrate the existing reports from SQL Server Reporting Services to BO, and the column order in the report is very important to the clients since clients have existing code to ingest these reports into their database. Now I want to schedule a single template with different parameters for all reports in BO, or create a single template with lot of parameters for all reports. My question is how I might use one template to create multiple reports with different column orders in the reports?
For example, client A has the following column order in their report: firstName, LastName, DateBirth, SSN. Client B has the following column order in their report: SSN, DateBirth, LastName, FirstName. Can I use one template to create these multiple reports?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
The only approach I can think of is to create a template report which uses variables
For each column you would need to variable
    v_columnAName and v_columnAValue
v_columnAName would have a if statement in it
    =if([client]="clientA" or [client]="clientC";NameOf([firstName]);if([client]="clientB";NameOf([SSN]);NameOf([lastName]));
v_columnA would have a if statement in it
    =if([client]="clientA" or [client]="clientC";[firstName];if([client]="clientB";[SSN],[lastName]));
This would only work when you had a small set of clients.
This might be more managable if it was done in the universe
    Regards
    Alan

  • I have multiple emails, how do I add different signatures for each email address

I have multiple emails for different companies I work for, how do I add a different signature for each one, it seems like I have to use the same one for all of them

Thanks.  I think I'm on the right track.  I added the email address to my contacts and double clicked the image icon to change it, but it only lets me snap a new picture or select an image from another location.  What is the folder location of the stock icons that come with Mac OSX?

  • How to structure the DMA buffer for PXie 6341 DAQ card for analog output with different frequencies on each channel

I'm using the MHDDK for analog out/in with the PXIe 6341 DAQ card.
The examples, e.g. aoex5, show a single Timer  (outTimerHelper::loadUI method), but the example shows DMA data loaded with the same vector size.
There is a comment in the outTimerHelper:rogramUpdateCount call which implies that different buffer sizes per channel can be used.
(the comment is: Switching between different buffer sizes will not be used)
Does anyone know what the format of the DMA buffer should be for data for multiple channels with different frequencies ?
For example, say we want a0 with a 1Khz Sine wave and a1 with a 1.5Khz sine wave.  What does the DMA buffer look like ?
With the same frequency for each channel, the data is interleaved, e.g.  (ao0#0, ao1#0; ao0#1, ao1#1, ...), but when the frequencies for each channel is different, what does the buffer look like ?

    Hello Kenstern,
The data is always interleaved because each card only has a single timing engine for each subsystem.
For AO you must specify the number of samples that AO will output. You also specify the number of channels. Because there is only one timing engine for AO, each AO will channel will get updated at the same time tick of the update clock. The data will be arranged interleaved exactly as the example shows because each AO channel needs data to output at each tick of the update clock. The data itself can change based on the frequency you want to output.

In your example, you need to come up with an update rate that works for both waveforms (1 KHz and 1.5 KHz sine waves). To get a good representation of a sine wave, you need to update more than 10x as fast as your fastest frequency...I would recommend 100x if possible.
    Update Frequency: 150 KHz
    Channels: 2
Then you create buffers that include full cycles of each waveform you want to output based on the update frequency. These buffers must also be the same size.
Buffer 1: Contains data for the 1 KHz sine wave, 300 points, 2 sine wave cycles
Buffer 2: Contains data for the 1.5 KHz sine wave, 300 points, 3 sine wave cycles
You then interleave them as before. When the data is run through the ADC, they are outputting different sine waves even though the AO channels are updating at the same rate.

  • Single invoice for multiple orders with different divisions

    Dear All,
while I am trying to do single invoice for muliple orders with different divisons invoice is gettting splitted..In copy control vbrk routine I  tried with 003 and 007 etc..but result is same..what configuration need to be done for getting the single invoice
    Thanks In advance
    Regards
    CNRNAIR

    Hello
single invoice for multiple orders with "different divisions" invoice is getting split
FYI - Different Division means different Sales Area.
So, sales doc (whether sales order, Delivery & Billing) is applicable to EXACTLY one sales area.
Thus, combining docs with different sales area is practically impossible.
Provided, you are using common division.
    Hope this assist you,
    Thanks & REgards
