Multiple undos in director 11.5 query

Director 11.5 is supposed to support multiple command 'undos'
There is an option in the preferences to set the number of "undos" but regardless
of what is specified I can't seem to "undo" more than one (ie the last) change -
what is the trick to this???
Support for importing Photoshop layers would be a useful feature for
the next version(?) (hint for anyone who may be listening/watching)

2 conditions at same time can't work on one characteristic in 2 different way. this is something like finding 1 red apple or 2 green apple in a pack up 4 apples say. which is not possible either you have 1st search for 1 and then for 2 or 1st 2 and then for 1.
when both the conditions are active i think the condition "Single Characteristics or Comginations of Characteristics" was after the condition "All Characteristics in the Drilldown Independently" in the designer and thats why its overwriting the other. you may decide logically which condition should be applied 1st and then from that out come, if the other condition is applicable then if it works for the desired out put. else you can make both the condition of same type either All char or single char.
i think you should put the condition "all char" for both and it should work.
you can also decide one primary condition and apply that one only and the other condition you can achieve using a RKF.

Best practice for multiple instances of the same BEX query

I'm wondering what's the best way to use multiple instances of the same BEX query. Let me explain what I mean:
I have a dashboard with different queries feeding different period of time such as: week to date, month to date and so on. One query for each since it is based on a user exit.
For each query I want to show different data in different sections of my dashboard. Per example: sales per directors or sales per customer group, sales per day, sales per week and the like.I tried to connect a simple bar chart via a direct connection but with no success due to the multiple lines generated by the addition of the sales director, customer group, week number and so on.
My question is about the way to connect the different queries efficiently in order to show the different data while avoiding multiple useless lines.
The image above shows the query browser where, per example, for a Month to date query there will be mutiple line for each week as well as one line for each director. If, for two different components, I want to show data per week and data per director or other representation what is the best practice:
Add another instance of the same query and only put the week information and another one will only the director info?
Should I bind those to the excel file and use formulas to make final calculations?
Will there be a performance issues for adding different instances of the same query
I have 6 different queries (read 6 user exit that filters time via user exit).
Depending on the best practices there might be 4 instances for each for a total of 24 instances in the query browser.
I hope my question is clear enough, if not please do not hesitate I'll clarify as much as possible.

Might be trying for solution for a long time, If i understood your question clear let me clarify you few points.
You are trying to access the bex query which is designed with the exit's in the background based on the logic and trying to call the entire dimensions and key-figures in a single connection. Then you are trying to map those data in the charts.
Steve, try to make more connections based upon the logic and split them. use the same query but split them by sales per customer group, sales per day, sales per week by making three different connections and try. You can merge the prompts from all connections.

Multiple undos opt+cmd+z not working in CC 2014

Hello, I am on a new mac book pro with CC 2014 installed and I have no ability to undo multiple times...? This problem has happened since I upgraded to 2014. I have checked the keyboard shortcuts and the same shortcut as before (in CC) is active as shown in the image, step forward (using shift etc) works fine but 'Opt+CMD+Z' doesn't. It's not a keyboard issue as it is a new keyboard and the 'opt' key works fine with other apps.
Any thoughts or help would be most appreciated.

Yes I have done that - I mapped CMD + Z but that kind of gets in the way of years of habit and is a bit frustrating and confusing when you're working quick etc...
It does work fine doing that (I have just uninstalled 3 versions of Photoshop and reinstalled CC 2014 and still no multiple undos on OPT + CMD + Z?! It's like it won't accept the key combination because if you go into map back to OPT + CMD + Z after changing it to CMD + Z it won't let you. You have to revert to default to even get that option back. C'est bizarre...non?

Multiple "Undo's" just to go back one step

I've had this problem for some time, but I've finally gotten aggravated enough to ask the question. I'm running FCP 4.5, and I often (but not always) have to do multiple Undo's (via CMD-Z, of course) before I can go back one step in editing.
For example, if I paste a bunch of stuff I copied into the clipboard from another sequence and I accidentally paste over stuff I didn't mean to obliterate, I'll undo, but it takes multiple undo's to get to where I was just before I "Pasted".
Any ideas?

The arrow to open the tab history of the Back and Forward buttons has been removed in Firefox 4 and later.

BUGS: Multiple Undos with Single CMD-Z (and other buggy tales)

BUG #1:
In the SIDs thread (now locked) I said in response to Logic Pro Help, "Hey, after all, Logic ain't that bad". Today I've changed my mind.
In full view of my writing partner, we witnessed numerous times that Logic would undo multiple edits after hitting CMD-Z just once. I've reported this in numerous other threads I've started here on the Apple Forum. I've posted Feedback about it. Naturally, there's been no response from the company.
BUG#2a: we tried to troubleshoot why certain SMPTE-locked regions would unlock (using a key command) and other locked regions on the same MIDI track would unlock.
BUG#2b: while checking to see whether my key command for Unlock SMPTE Position was still intact or not, I went to the key command window and hit cntrl-opt-cmd-U (custom assignment) expecting that the assigned command would scroll into view in the KC window. But I should have known better --- this is one of those key combinations which will NOT cause the assigned command to scroll into view. Sure enough, entering the word "SMPTE" in the search window caused the display to show the Unlock SMPTE Postion command. So why does pressing some keys/key combinations in the KC window show the assigned command while some do not?
And we're supposed to be OK with this kind of behavior?

Using multiple 'and' conditions in a SQL query

Is it possible to reduce the SQL required to query using multiple 'and' conditions, e.g. I have a query like the following:

Ah, Ok this looks nice, thanks very much. It doesn't quite run as is because the stat.amount_paid query value is 'is null', while the others are 'C'. I tried amending the relevant line to various versions of the following:-
in (select 'is null' 'C','C','C','C','C','C','C','C' from dual)
which doesn't work.
I can get the following to work so I am assuming that the it is not possible to use different query values within the brackets of the 'in (select....' statement?

How to configure Airport Extreme AFP disk sharing to host multiple users' home-directories (Lion, using autofs)

I have this working, but only by completely bypassing access control, using guest access with read+write permissions.
Do I need to buy Lion Server, to do this. All my past unix/linux experience says Lion Server should _not_ be necessary.
This seems like a simple & obvious setup objective, but it is proving to be harder than I would imagine.
Setup:
multiple users, sharing two mac mini's running OSX Lion
connected to an Airport Extreme (4th gen) with a USB disk shared (either via disk password, AEBS password, or using AEBS user's passwords).
After much experimentation and web research, I finally have managed to get the mini's to auto mount the Airport Extreme's AFP shared USB disk. Well almost... It only works if, on the Airport, I set the guest access permissions to read+write and select the "Secure Shared Disks" method to "With disk password" or "with Airport Extreme password". In other words, it only works if I essentially bypass/disable access control by using the guest authentication mechanism to the AFP shared disk.
On the Lion side of this, I am automounting the users directories via "autofs". The config files for this are
/etc/auto_master:

Then, after rebooting and verifying read+write access to the /afp/users directories, I change each user's home directory: In System Preferences > System > Users & Groups, I right-click over the users to access the Advanced Options, changing the Home directory field to point at the AFP-mounted /afp/users/Users/* home directories.
I experimented with alternate UAM specifications, as well as both OSX and AESB users & passwords. Using guest access is the only thing that has worked.
Any pointers would be appreciated...

Based on lots more experimentation which confirms the information in a parallel discussion (cf. Automount share as non ROOT or SYSTEM user! https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3221944), I have concluded that the Lion 10.7.2 implementation of AutoFS mechanism is broken. I submitted a bug report via apple.com/feedback.
Work arounds..?
Earlier I wondered if installing Lion OSX Server was necessary. The more I contemplate this, the more I am convinced it _should_not_ be necessary. The client-server architecture is clear: my mac's are the file-server client's and the Airport Extreme is supposed to act as the file server. The only thing instaling Lion Server would do (besides enriching Apple.com) is enable me to configure one of the mac's as the file server. This would require it to be "always on" (thus enriching my electric utility as wel). Okay, an additional benefit would be configuring software RAID disks attached to the Lion server, but Time Machine has worked fine for me in the past, backing up to disks mounted on the Airport Extreme.
One solution is to create a disk partition for each user and instruct each user to connect / authenticate to the Airport Extreme AFP share at login. The multiplicity of partitions is necessary since the first user to mount the AFP share, takes ownership of it, blocking other users from accessing that disk partition. A user can "steal" ownership by reconnecting, but this will leave the other user's applications & open files dangling.
This disfunctional situation really *****. Before instaling Lion, I put a 64 GB SSD (solid state disk) in each of our mac's. I did this expecting to easily configure the /Users/* data on external networked storage. I'm having a dejavu "Bill Gates"-ware moment; problems like this were why I abandoned Windoz.
I will make a few more experiments using the depreciated /etc/fstab mechanism. Maybe that will bypass the broken-ness of AutoFS...? Alternately, I guess I could also try to run Kerberos authentication to bypass whatever is broken in AutoFS, but that would require a running a Kerberos daemon somewhere. Possibly I could configure a Kerberos service to run on both my mac's (without installing Apple's Lion Server)...?

Populate Multiple Items bundled in a single query

I am trying to create a report in which I have mulitple items that I want to populate. All of these use the same query but use different rows in the query to populate themselves. My question is:-
Is there a way to bundle the item assignment into a single query and populate the items from there? I want to reduce the time it takes for me to display the report and just hit the database once instead.

when u say report, i think its a more of a page showing few items on a region whose values are populated from Database rather than a SQL report which will not have any items. Is that correct?
yes, multiple items of a page can be assigned values at once.
assume: P1_ITEM1,P1_ITEM2,P1_ITEM3,P1_ITEM4 are different items on a page, an "On-Load Before Header" PL/SQL process can be created to assign values to the items in this way:
SELECT tab.col1,tab.col2,tab.col3,tab.col4 INTO :P1_ITEM1,:P1_ITEM2,:P1_ITEM3,:P1_ITEM4 FROM TABLE tab;
Item "Source Used" should be of type: Only When Current Value in session state is null
Source Type: PL/SQL Expression or function
and Source Value or EXpression should be some thing like this :P1_ITEM1

Need to get data from multiple database instances in a single query

Hi,
I need a small favour from you guys. The prob is as follows:
I need to get name, row_id from table A from schema 1 and gbu_name, name from table B from schema 2 where a.name = b.name. I wrote the query in the following manner:
SELECT a.name, a.row_id, b.gbu_name
FROM Schema1.A as a, Schema2.B as b
Where a.name = b.name
But this query is not working and the error is like " The table does not exists".
Please update me how to avoid the error and get the right sort of result.

Ah, youre actually asking different things.
In your topic title, you say youre running separate instances
In your body text, you say you are under different user/schema
So tell me, do you have more than one database or not? How many entries in your TNS file?
I would say, for "multiple database instances"

Multiple Universes (based on SAP BI Query) & single WebI Report

Hi,
We build OLAP Universes on SAP BI Queries. One of the ways to consume multiple universes in a single WebI report is to "add query" from another universe into the same WebI page / another WebI tab for the report.
Is there a possibility to pick and choose fields from different Universes (based on SAP BI Queries), into a single WebI report ... of course respecting their technical linkage.

We have created multiple subject Area Universes (based on SAP BI Queries). Is there a possibility to select a particular object from one of the Universe and another object from another Universe into the same grid eg. Notification Number from Work Management Universe (SAP BI Query based on Customer Service Data Flow / Multiprovider) and Invoice Number from Invoicing Universe (SAP BI Query based on Invoicing Data Flow / Multiprovider). Common aspects for both of these could be say a Customer Account Number.
As per my understanding, we cannot do this if we have created Universes on SAP BI Queries.
Nearest possible option is to display two tables on the same WebI report - one from Work Mgmt Universe and other from Invoicing Universe.
Please guide.

Add Multiple Detail Items Using the Same Query String Parameter

I am using InfoPath 2010 and SharePoint 2010.
I have 2 forms libraries - Expense and Expense Details.
The 2 libraries are linked via a custom site column Expense ID.
The Expense form contains the main header type info you would typically find on an expense report; e.g., name, purpose, department, etc.
The Expense Details form contains multiple detail expenses related to the main expense report such as airfare, rental car, etc.
I have created a page that displays an expense report with all of the related expense detail items.
The page contains a link to add a new expense detail and passes the Expense ID of the Expense form to the Expense Detail form.
This all works fine. The problem comes in after the first expense detail form is submitted.
I can successfully submit the first detail item. However, the expense detail form loses the Expense ID that was passed to it after the first expense detail form has been submitted.
The parameter still shows in the URL but the detail form no longer shows the value of the parameter.
What do I need to do in order to be able to add multiple expense detail items using the same Expense ID that was passed to the form?
I have tried using a Submit Behavior of Open a new form, Close the form, and Leave the form open.
None of these options give me what I need. Thanks for your help.

does work. You have to add an extra Info Path Web Form for it to work. I know, you can roll your eyes.<o:p></o:p>
Steps.<o:p></o:p>
1. Add Query String<o:p></o:p>
2. Add the extra Info Path form to the page. This form will be a hidden on the page and will receive the value from the query string.<o:p></o:p>
3. Add your original Info Path form and have it receive a parameter from the hidden Info Path form.<o:p></o:p>
Now, when you hit save and it opens a new form the 3 Info Path form will function properly. <o:p></o:p>

How can I display multiple column results of a sql query?

I'm wanting to display the results of a query selecting from multiple columns, but I can't seem to find an item type that will allow this. I've tried LOV, multiselect, display as text and others. Any ideas on how to do this. Here is my basic query:

Do you just wish to display the result of the query? If so, you can simply parse it out in HTML.
You can then choose if you want to use tables or css.
Multiple column layout in tables are based on <tr> and <td>.
<tr> is a table row, where <td> is a column.
All tags should be closed.
Example:

</tr>
<tr>
<td colspan="2">spans over 2 cols</td>
</tr>
</table>If you want to do the same in css:

Multiple currency translation in one single query execution.

Hi folks.
I have today running in production, a report like:
The user input a period and a version (multiple single values selecion)
- Period
- Version (0VERSION)
And the report returt as follow
                              2010
          Version            A1         Q1
Key Figure 1        500BRL     400BRL
Key Figure 2        300BRL     200BRL
Now, the user requires a currency translation based on the version selected in the filter. I mean, for version A* use one exchange rate type.
For Q* version, use another exchange rate type...and so one...
For instance, the solution is to create a currency translation type like:
Exchange rate type from Var. and create this var as user exit with an abap that checks the version selected by the user in the
report and than return the exchange rate type based on this version...
This solution works only if the user input only one version in the filter. But, he needs to input three, four..versions and
in one execution of the report, translate the currency using a exchange rate type for each version.
Ex: Exchange Rate for version A1 (1.8USD = 1BRL) Exchange Rate for version Q1 (1.5USD = 1BRL)
Then, the report should return:
                2010
        Version              A1         Q1
Key Figure 1        277,7USD   266,6USD
Key Figure 2        166USD     133,3USD
I know it's a little complex to describe, but if someone know how to do it, I'll aprecciate.

Can you explain your query KFs structure..
Seems that in your report there is 1 KF for each version....but you have 1 input variable which holds multiple values ...If thats right..then how are you getting values for diff versions from 1 & same variable..
No, there is one key figure for each document..
for example,
(doc/calday/version/sales revenue)
DOC00001   01012011   0       100BRL
DOC00002   01012011   A1    120BRL
DOC00003   01012011   R1    110BRL
In the report, the user can filter by one or more version, and based on wich version he selects, for each version we need to use a specific currency translation.
The structure in the query is
In Lines
Sales Revenue
In columns
Calday / Version
